please i think what the mother of this child did is wrong and fully condemn it. However on another topic a lot of women in Nigeria (and around the world) suffer from post natal depression and I believe that it is not widely acknowledged in Nigeria for various reasons, maybe if these women got the support they needed and where quickly identified as sufferers of this illness we would stop hearing more of these horrific stories and women would simple give up the babies for adoption or use techniques given to them by trained healthcare professionals to cope better with the whole situation of motherhood.
very important point you made there. postpartum can truly skewed-up the sense of the most sanely woman. sadly, its not widely recognized to be given a name in our neck of the wood and in many others. it gets to a point that some mothers even kill themselves due to it and some even carry-out the thought of killing their own child, at least i know of some. its just a very horrible experience and i really wish many people had the knowledge of it and be able to recognize the signs esp husbands and those closets to the mother and seek help for the mother. i really wish we had a very active support group for the suffers of this silence illness. postpartum is very real

i saw a beauty pageant photo from 9ja a while back (dont remember which one it was) and ALL THE GALS had weave/wigs or whatever they wanna call it.

so its safe to say that the Nigerian ladies believe that wearing them is the only way to look beautiful. . . . . . . . . as for me, i wouldnt rate very highly a woman who needs a wig/weave to feel beautiful.
no its not safe to say. not only some nigerian ladies who wear them "believe that wearing them is the only way to look beautiful. . . . . . . . . "

i have my doubts on those numbers. seems excessively huge though it could possible but at the same-time, it seems very implausible. i wish they had more tangible evidence like a well conducted dna test(though could be very expensive and take lots of time but still). or they based the claims on result of dna test?. seems like the soliders went there to 'solider' these women?
HealthRe: How Do U Have Twins by Sissy3(mod): 9:34am On Jul 22, 2010

1. How do you potty train a child?

Quote from: ~Sissy~on April 02, 2009,

best age? i think that is left to the parents discretion. however, i think 2-3 yrs is the norm for me. although some start at 1 and half yrs

first every child is unique so this might or might not work. patience and guidance is the keyword, so here is what i do

1) take him/her with you inside the toliet and demonstrate with them. for example during the time for my little niece, i did the demonstrating. i kinda squatted on it and she was watching me and repeated it after me cox they sometimes learn by imitating, just to make her feel ease with it. maybe do the gender thing. boys with the father and moms with the daughter.
2) recognize the signs that they need to go or help them recognize the signs of knowing when they are wet etc and encourage to talk any sensation of wanting to go they might have. my niece her face changes when she wants to go or she just stand still, all i do then is to help her sit.
3) i'd suggest keeping some toys around there, just to keep them busy while they do their thing. or maybe some cheerios as a reward each time they do it right and praise them too. like Good job! David, or high 5 just to get them going
4) let them practice by themselves how to pull up and down their pants, and maybe have them flush the toilet for you, as to get them familiar with the whole process and maybe bring their potty chair in the toilet which the child may sit, only if the want to, they may if they see you doing it.
5)just make them to sit on the potty chair if even nothing happens it just gets them familiar and comfortable with it.

i dont hate plantain that much i can still manage it, though its not one my favorite food and i prefer unripe-to little ripe platty but i hate it when cooked with beans.

i can manage it w/egg, one of my fav uses of it and the one thing i can gladly eat with it
