@ Eurphoria @sistaGo ahead have fun, it's on me, nock me out, I can take a good brusing ![]() |
@ Christel your profile says a black woman who loves all black peopleHave you heard of tuff love? A part of loving black people is telling them the truth weather they want to hear it or not. |
@ Christel Christel, I could not tell that the pic with the burgundy hair was yours and I just noticed that second pic with the blow dried mo hawk, that is you. I keep my word, I give credit when credit is due. That pic with the mo hawk is out of site! You look like the natural beauty that you are. I am not kidding you, that is the best pic of them all. You probably don't care for my opinion at this point but it does not matter. I am a Capricorn and I make people work hard. You always did look good but I just wanted to see you natural. A lot of black women do not like their hair. They think that there is nothing you can do to it to make it look good. Look at what you did there in that mo hawk pic. If your hair was not the texture it was, it would not be able to stand strong and tall as it does in that pic. You won't hear my big mouth again ![]() You look gorgeous ![]() |
@ Eurphoria Sista you keep ducking and diving , you said this , no you said that, you really sounding ignorant now, just shut the FUK UP, IF SHE WANTS TO PASTE HER PIC ALL OVER NAIRALAND OR THE WHOLE FRIGGING WORLD its her prerogative, are you the photo police on Nairaland now? Come on i thot you were better than his, JUST SHUT THE FUK UPI am not ducking, please. You are so dramatic, you should be taking some acting classes. I don't even think Christel is as upset as you, chill I will take the credit for what I said and only what I said. I will not take the credit for what is assumed of what I said. So, if anyone tells me I said something or insinuated something, I will deny it. I say what I need to say and I throw no curves. |
@ Seun From these passages, it's obvious that Jesus wanted his early disciples believe that he was going to come back in their lifetimes or at worst the lifetimes of their children. Despite that, they have been dead for almost 2000 years and Jesus is yet to return "in the coulds of heaven". So why have people not abandoned Christianity?Good question. It is the question I always ponder in terms of black people especially, why do we not look for our original spirituality, the spirituality of our ancestors? why do we settle for something that really has done us no good? No harm intended towards the Christians but I think I have a right to say what I am saying. I used to be a Christian for 22 years. It has now been 10 years and growing that I no longer claim Christianity. I left Christianity alone when I began to discover that it was plagiarized African religion which was now covered in a "Eurocentric Motive". Now I just believe in God and oh, did I mention that I also believe in the Goddess ![]() |
@ Eurphoria I thot you were better than this, i really still like you, but you are taking it too far, don't knock a girl for her confidence period. What if she wants all to see her? so what? (i don't think it was the case to staRt off with)I am sorry that you thought I was better than telling the truth What did I say that was so horrible and not the truth?I told the girl what I felt, it was not supposed to be for you or anyone else to like, sorry. If your feelings about me have changed, that would be to bad because I don't think you really know me or this girl, so why is it important for you to take sides? It would be a shame that you would let your feelings for my views change what you think about me as a person who loves black people and cares about the decisions they make. You never know, I might be the one who has to come to your rescue and you don't like me because I am telling this girl the truth. Will that stop you from receiving my help? I hope not. I am not a phony, I said it to many times, the girl is beautiful now how is that being jealous? However, on the other hand, her wigs look tired, they look like they could use a rest ![]() Again, she said she was going to post a pic to the affect of her natural hair, where is the pic ?She is the one who did not keep her word. I think Christel is a nice girl but that is not the point. She said she could handle challenges and my dear that is what I do best, I give people a challenge ![]() I am challenging her to challenge her self. If I were a white judge at a beauty pageant contest telling Christel these things, what would you guys think then? If you think this is something, you wait until Christel is headed towards becoming a big time model, she is going to get worse criticism than this. Did you see what they did to that dark skin sister on "top model"? They told her she had beautiful skin but it was the texture of her skin that was the problem. What was that suppose to mean? They had that girls self esteem so messed up about her natural skin color that she went back to her room to apply lotion bleaches to her skin. She was determind to please those white people and guess what? She still didn't win Believe you me, Christel is going to learn something from this challenge, weather she learns it today or within the next five years. ![]() |
@ christel u said i shouldn't have posted my pics,I never said you should have not posted your pic, I merely suggested that this was the wrong topic to post your pic. |
@ Christel i will wear whatever hair colour, blonde, white, red, yellow,I know you said this to not2shytoask but did you have to resort? I thought you carried yourself like a lady of class, at least that is how you attempt to project your self. You will not stoop to child's play? What is all the profanity about then? A lady like you should be able to ignore such chatter and if you can't, you should be able to answer in a way that shows you have not been affected. The first time I asked you a question, you answered real nicely as though you had no problem. As your audience pumped you up for no reason, you began to read into soemthing that was not there. You said you could handle a challenge, but it does not look like it? You have to curse in order to prove your point? So you get paid well for modeling your wigs and you can afford them. When it again becomes a fad to have a Prosterior, are you going to go to the plastic surgeon and have him remove some fatty tissue from your Behind? Sense the only thing that matters is that you will be getting paid well? When it becomes a fad again to have thin lips, are you going to have the fatty tissue removed from you lips if you can afford to, so that you can keep getting paid that good money? It is not all about the money. Not all black women but a lot of them are resorting to this getting paid thing and doing whatever it takes to get paid. I hope you don't fall into that trap and sell your soul if you are not already on the way to doing that. If your concern was really about hearing how and why people love their self you would not have posted your pic. But, you did post your pic and you are getting some criticism. If your concern was not about how you look in this discussion and more about hearing what people have to say about loving their self, you would be able to ignore everything else and discuss loving ones self. You can't handle the challenge of being publicly criticized because it is all about how fine you are. You used this love your self gig to promote your self. If you are really a model, you would know how to take objective criticism and use it to improve your self. |
@2fine for you most blk girls use blond hair cuzz their skin tone complements it. blond is not meant fo whites only. Beyonce is blk buh she uses blond hair cuzz it matches her beautiful light-skin tone. Christel is blk and light-skinned, so using blond hair is no fashion crime cuzz it matches her skin tone. me on the other hand is brown-skinned so usin blond hair will be a big fashion hell no so there aint nothin wrong wit a blk girl usin different kinds of hair color. we blessed cuzz we blk and we can do anythin wit colors, most white people are not that blessed.I never said anything was terribly wrong with adding some color every now and then, I just said why get rid of your natural hair for good? Your natural hair is a part of you who you are. If you keep hiding it, what is that saying about you and your full self esteem? Why can't Christel from time to time wear her own hair? what is a wig every day all about? She said she was going to post a pic to the affect of her own natural hair, she has not done that yet and just recently she posted three more pics with wigs. |
@Kabiyesi I think I didn't respond to another one of his responses to me, I will do it later. You go ahead and handle your business, I think he is white or truly a brainwashed black man. It is not going to us any good but we have to respond to him anyway so that others might know the information. I'm going to bed, talk later, night night. |
@ Kabiyesi That was a good response you gave to Kag about the Dogon, I was glad you came in. Did you read what I said back to him? |
@Kabiyesi Are you aware of this band?Do they some times play at the Ashkanaz? |
@ To All Who said that straightening your hair did not mean you did not like your Africaness or that you were any less African? Not me, I never said that. Do I detect some guilty conscious ![]() |
@Eurphoria So what if she is skinny, maybe thats her natural figure(sometimes, people don't realise that some skinny girls have issues with their body shape, just like fat girls) leave her aloneI never said anything about this girl being skinney. She said she was going to post a pic of her with her real hair, instead she posted three other pics with wigs. |
@ Def Why is she stressful? It can't be that bad. |
@kabiyesi Yes, you are right, there will never be another Fela! I brought some of Femi's music but I could not get into it. I do like "fight for your rights" but that music is not funky like Fela. |
@Kabiyesi Yes, I love Fela! His birthday is next month, we should create a discussion about him on the day of his Birthday. What do you think? His birthday is October 15 |
@Kabiyesi Kabiyesi, what are you doing with a picture of my husband in your profile ![]() |
@goodguy I just spent a lot of time writing you a respons but im going to have to do it over maybe tomorrow. My page expired on me when i tried to post and my info got lost. |
@Kag That, or you are a narrow minded person who has allowed the massive chip of blind prejudice on her shoulder, to dictate her myopic and often fallacious views.I didn't say that I believed that fish people really came to visit the Dogon, I just said that this is what the Dogon told the story of. Weather it is true or not, only the Dogons know. It could be that they did not want to tell the white scientist how they really got their information because they knew, either way it went, some how the white scientist would find a way to discredit them, a bit of Dogon humor, who knows. What is the truth though is, the Dogon knew of that Sirius star system before the white scientist even stepped foot into Mali. Erm, except they did document the finding of Sirius B. It was first suspected to esxist "based on changes in its proper motion, in 1844 Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel deduced that Sirius had a hidden companion. Nearly two decades later in 1862 Alvan Graham Clark discovered the faint companion, which is called Sirius B, or affectionately "the Pup". (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sirius).The whole reason why we even got on this part was because you said Saigon theorized that the Dogon must have gotten their information from western scientist a long time ago because the Dogon did not have what it took to be able to see the star, Sirius B. Now you want to take back that it was a Saigon theory and make it a fact? I looked at the link you provided me with, it states that the Dogon knew about the Sirius system before it's discovery in 1840. The speculation that the Dogon must have had outside help was do to hearsay. Supposedly, the the Dogon also knew about the four moons orbiting Jupiter but the scientist said that Jupiter has more than four. The four moons they say that the Dogon were talking about can be seen with simple telescopes and therefore, for the Dogon to only know about the four, they must have had western scientist who visited them with these simple telescopes. Again, if that were true, those western scientist would have documented that as a fact and the Sirius system would have been documented as a discovery way before 1840. Western Scientist, Engineers and so fourth can't even figure out how the pyramids were built. They hated to think that black people, Egyptians could have this vast knowledge so they tried to give the credit to the white Jews who are not really Jews according to Ancient proof. I guess people are no longer believing that the Jews built the pyramids or that they were even enslaved by the Egyptians. Another little white lie ![]() LoL, so now it's a ploy to discredit Black people, not just the Dogons, eh? Fact is they did demontravly know of Sirius B before contact with the Dogons. Even the popularizers of the Dogon myths, like for example Temple, should tell you that much - but wait, he's a white guy, nevermind then.Oh, that is funny to you that you are LOL? Yes it is a ploy. You don't think that the Dogon are black people? You must be an advocate of separatism. You can't seperate black people like little pieces of puzzles because even if you do, we still manage to fit the pieces back correctly and come together again. Black is black, I don't care what part of the planet you reside on. Great point, you've hit the nail on the head. Which reminds me, I need to get off this computer that has come a long way since Babbage, but wait, I just saw something on my Baird TV about Borlaug's GM crops and how succesful it has been, maybe I should send him an e-mail over the internet. On second thoughts I'll use my Alexander Bell phone to call him.Behind every successful white man is a Black man, Black woman, Asian man and who ever else they(White people) have murdered and stole from. White people have been piggy backing off of the talents and ideas of black people and people of color sense the beginning of time, they still do it to this day. Theologians politely call what white people do borrowing, but you can't borrow something you don't give back. You named to many things for me to go into but let me shock you with something. Hippocrates does not predate Imhotep. Yes Imhotep is the original father of medicine. The Greeks learned everything from the Egyptians from Philosophy, Mathematics, Religion and yes Medicine. [b]The symbol for medicine, the staff with the serpent intertwining around it is an ancient egypt symbol that is on the walls of egypt to this date. The PX symbol on the bottles of medicine you get from the pharmacy is and ancient egypt symbol on the walls to this date as well. Black people are the opposite of white people. They (Black people) don't go around the world like people who are looking for an origin. Black people do not go around the world falsely staking a claim to everything that looks good to them. Black people don't industrialize any thing that looks like it can gain a profit. Black people are a spiritual people, they have a conscious. Take a look at this, EGYPT Several deities were associated with medicine. Thoth was the patron of physicians, Isis was invoked for magical cures and her son Horus was a protector against harm. Imhotep 2,700 BC is the name of the first physician known to us and he was deified. Much information on Egyptian medicine is available in wall paintings, carvings and papyri. EBER'S PAPYRUS 1300 BC [large image] (trans Majno 1975) "O Isis, great in sorcery! Mayest thou loosen me, mayest thou deliver me from everything evil and vicious and red, from the spell of a god, " was recited as a bandage was removed. Such practice is incomprehensible to us. On the other hand EDWIN SMITH PAPYRUS "Instruction concerning a dislocation of a vertebra of the neck: If you examine a man having a dislocation of the a vertebra of his neck, should you find him unconscious of his arms and legs on account of it, then you should say an ailment which cannot be treated" describes quadriplegia and is familiar to us. Surgical instruments [large image] have been found and operations on lumps, bumps, breaks and cuts were performed. Surgery has always been a more practical down to earth discipline. The symbol of the god Horus is still used for prescriptions today. The Egyptians embalmed the dead and so some knowledge of human anatomy must have existed. GREECE. The origins of Greek medicine are similar to Egyptian. The god Apollo is associated with science. Aesclepius, [large image] whose staff is the symbol of medicine, is the first known Greek associated with medicine. He was probably derived from Egypt's Imhotep. Aesclepius was Either the son of the god Apollo and the mortal Coronis. He was taught herbal remedies by the centaur Chiron. When Aesclepius resuscitated too many dead he was slain by Pluto Lord of the Underworld. He had sons and two daughters- Hygeia and Panacea. (Hygiene and the Panacea of ills) Or a tribal chief and skilled wound healer whose sons, Machaon and Podalirius, became physicians and appear in Homer's Iliad. The cult of Aesclepius FIGURE 5 Model of EPIDAURUS. The worship of Aesclepius became established in the 3rd cent BC and many cult temples were built. They were a religious and therapeutic spa, with entertainment, such as theatres, provided. The most famous Aesclepian centre was at Epidaurus, Southern Greece. Patients would spend the night in the god's sanctuary "sleeping in " (incubatio) The priests would interpret the dreams experienced. The cured would leave votive inscriptions and offerings.e.g. "A woman had a worm and the cleverest of the physicians despaired of curing her. So she went to Epidaurus and begged the god to free her from the parasite. The god was not there, but the attendants made her lie down where the god was in the habit of healing the suppliants. The attendants removed her head, pulled out the worm but could not replace her head. The god returned and was angry with them for attempting a task beyond their wisdom, and he himself with the irresistible power of a god restored the head to the body." SCIENTIFIC MEDICINE. FIGURE 6 Hippocrates The medicine, Scientific Medicine, that we teach began with Hippocrates (460 - 377 BC) "He" published 60 or so works called the Corpus. These range from philosophy to case notes. What makes these works unique is that health and disease are considered to be capable of rational explanation following the same physical laws as govern the universe. Supernatural interference is not needed to explain illnesses. Hippocrates had a sound knowledge of surface anatomy but not about the structure of the body below the skin. He was particularly accurate on wounds/ trauma e.g. On Head Injuries. Hippocratic Medicine dominated European medicine for over two thousand. Careful observation and the symptoms and appearance of the sick were recorded. Case histories were common in the publications. e.g. Hippocrates. Epidemics. You can confirm all this info at, http://umanitoba.ca/faculties/medicine/history/notes/roots/index.html Now, check this out, IMHOTEP "FATHER OF MEDICINE" (2980 B.C.) Imhotep, called "God of Medicine," "Prince of Peace," and a "Type of Christ." Imhotep was worshipped as a god and healer from approximately 2850 B.C. to 525 B.C., and as a full deity from 525 B.C. to 550 A.D. Even kings and queens bowed at his throne. Imhotep lived during the Third Dynasty at the court of King Zoser. Imhotep was a known scribe, chief lector, priest, architect, astronomer and magician (medicine and magic were used together.) For 3000 years he was worshipped as a god in Greece and Rome. Early Christians worshippd him as the "Prince of Peace." Imhotep was also a poet and philosopher. He urged contentment and preached cheerfulness. His proverbs contained a "philosophy of life." Imhotep coined the saying "Eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow we shall die." When the Egyptians crossed the Mediterranean, becoming the foundation of the Greek culture, Imhotep's teachings were absorbed there. Yet, as the Greeks were determined to assert that they were the originators of everything, Imhotep was forgotten for thousands of years and a legendary figure, Hippocrates, who came 2000 years after him became known as the Father of Medicine. It is Imhotep says Sir William Osler, who was the real Father of Medicine. "The first figure of a physician to stand out clearly from the mists of antiquity." Imhotep diagnosed and treated over 200 diseases, 15 diseases of the abdomen, 11 of the bladder, 10 of the rectum, 29 of the eyes, and 18 of the skin, hair, nails and tongue. Imhotep treated tuberculosis, gallstones, appendicitis, gout and arthritis. He also performed surgery and practiced some denistry. Imhotep extracted medicine from plants. He also knew the position and function of the vital organs and circulation of the blood system. The Encyclopedia Britannica says, "The evidence afforded by Egyptian and Greek texts support the view that Imhotep's reputation was very respected in early times, His prestige increased with the lapse of centuries and his temples in Greek times were the centers of medical teachings." You can also confirm this at this link http://www.nbufront.org/html/MastersMuseums/JHClarke/HistoricalPersonalities/hp2.html No, can't do that. I don't base science evidence and other writings, on the colour of the scientistswriters skin. In fact more often than not, I don't know, and don't care to know, the race of most of the science writings I read. There's been nothing wrong with the science based evidences I've presented, and if your prejudice won't allow you to view them, then that's your call. I, however, think your request is nothing more than an attemp at obfuscation. In a idealistc world it would be safe to believe everything our qoute on qoute great scholars write but we live in a world of Politics and Capitalism. I said that to say this, the most wicked way to stay on top is to succesfully discredit anyone who can make you look less, look inferior. The best way to do that is to project fear. The fear of white people has been projected through the usage of weaponery. Anytime a human can come up with the idea of some type of device such as an atomic bomb that can take out the enitire planet ,you gotta bet that his plan is to induce fear that will by any means necessary keep him on top. P.s here is another website where you can go to look at the black inventors that white people piggy back off. http://inventors.about.com/library/blblackinventors.htm [quote][/quote] |
@2fine4u haa!!! abeg ooo, yall should leave my friend alone ooo wats the deal wit wigs and chemicals on hair anyway? not every black girl wann@ carry their natural hair cuzz them natural hair be lookin ugly and stuff and trust me it hardly turn guys on.It is a shame that you put down the natural hair of a black woman. I don't know if you are a black woman or not but if you are, that is even more sad. If a man does not want a black woman because her hair is to kinky and unlike the hair of a European, that is his problem. A woman shouldn't completly rid her self of her natural God given hair just to please a man. Your statement was shallow and full of self hate. |
@ To All I didn't say the girl wasn't beautiful. All I said is, it would be nice to see her naturally with her own hair. She said she was going to post a pic to that affect but she has not posted one yet. What is that all about? Does she like her own God given texture of hair or does she not? I can't see her face on two of those pics because the wig covers her face up. It would be nice to see her with her beautiful kinky hair if it is not damaged from chemicals. |
@ Worldgreat It's very difficult situation,u don't know how to go about it,it's happening to me too.we're 2 guys and 6 girls in my house and all my sisters are married, but my brother married an Ibo girl, which my mum doesn't really mind ,because we grew up in the same area,so she'd always known her.World, have you tried discussing your frustration with the Igbo girl? Don't assume that she knows that you dislike her yelling. Give her a chance to come to a common ground with you. Tell her that you want to talk to her about the relationship. Don't talk to her as if you are disgusted with her behavior. Talk to her as if you understand her and are not criticizing her. |
@ Chinani Since you take special exception to something I wrote months ago could you post a link so I can reread it?I am not the one who has the burden of proof. Remember you responded to a post I wrote over a month ago. Quote from: Sista on Today at 03:44:45 AMI never read where you explained what you meant by the advice you gave. You explained that you date outside your race but what does that have to do with why you gave casual or impulsive advice to the specific woman. Again, your advice was not even parallel to the issue the woman was having. I know I'm 22. Unfortunately I have no control over this, but don't mistake 22 for "young dumb & full of " & don't think b/c you read my posts that you know anything about my mother's tits jare. Ok?I never said you were dumb, I can certainly see that you are not dumb. If I felt you were dum, I wouldn't be waisting my time going back and fourth with you. The response you gave me asking me to challenge you was smart and I admire that. But, the fact is you are a little naive and you give suggestions impulsively. I don't know anything about your mothers tits, you are correct on that one. Don't get mad at me now, you did ask for the challenge. |
@ Chinani @SistaIf a Nigerian sister ask you where are the good Nigerian men? and states that she wants a Nigerian man but she can't find one and when she does find a Nigerian man, all he wants is sex. When your response to her is to casually say "Try dating White, Asian and Hispanic men" The implication is you have concluded that their are no more good Nigerian men. You really need to be careful with what you say. As I told you in another post, you are very young I believe 22. You have just become a young lady but you are not that far from just coming off of your mothers breast. |

What did I say that was so horrible and not the truth?
