Women have not "overtaken" men in Muslim countries like the west because most Muslim countries who are theocratic (government by religious leaders) created a system to greatly limit and control women's hypergamy, even to the point of misogyny. Some African societies (not religious-influenced) had extreme rules to limit women's hypergamic drive before westernization, so much that some of them appeared as hate for women but in fact, they were not. Life was nasty, brutish and short, so the men were being careful to put out, the best quality women, for themselves. It still, didn't remove the fact that there were male simps and female hypergamy then, but the larger society controlled it.
