PoliticsRe: Bayelsa Crash - NDLF Blasts Navy by skyfall: 12:13pm On Dec 19, 2012
I think the 40-laptop crew is on the loose again. Maybe they've been paid their Xmas allowances. Their handwriting is all over the wall.
PoliticsRe: Fashola/Shekarau 2015 Presidential Ticket???? by skyfall: 12:12pm On Dec 19, 2012
Fashola is a no-no for me. He has a corporation (capitalist)-oriented mind and does not give a hoot about the middle & low-income class.

I prefer Ribadu & Obi Ezekwesili.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Where Can A Broke Guy Have Fun In Lagos This Xmas Period? by skyfall:
Do a mix of the following
1. Go to the beach - it's relaxing and you'll also be able to reflect on your life.
2. Visit a couple of old friends who'll understand your predicament - you should have enough to eat n drink.
3. Buy one of those Korean series movies like JUMONG and watch all-day.
PoliticsRe: Chime Shakes-Off Death Rumour, Condoles With Yakowa, Azazi’s Families by skyfall: 9:20am On Dec 19, 2012
Shut up you "get well soon" crew. Someone says he's fine you're asking him to GWS. Anyway, the speech is meant for m0rons like you who can't use your brains.

It's obvious that the guy is terribly sick and the speech is just a cover up. Nigerian politicians will rather die in office than admit the inevitable.

This is just the Yaradua scenario, Season 2, Episode 1. They never learn.
PoliticsRe: Ijaye Bus-Stop Is No Entry: New Trap For Lagos Motorists by skyfall: 12:23pm On Dec 18, 2012
Tokotaya: Experience narrated as it happened actually has its value, perhaps more so than than one summed up in bullet points. That the reading/writing culture is dying should not make us forget this. As popular as the SMS culture has become, many still appreciate prose.
You can see the laziness of the 'leaders of tomorrow.'
PoliticsRe: Ijaye Bus-Stop Is No Entry: New Trap For Lagos Motorists by skyfall: 12:11pm On Dec 18, 2012
Lucky you! It's obvious that they laid ambush there for brisk 'business.' I'd removed that woman's umbrella sha, or follow up with the LG officials. That's why it's hard to pity Nigeria Police when they're mowed down by armed robbers. They're equally criminals.

Their pic is funny sha. Seems that was when they were still in the village.
Christianity EtcRe: Why Are Nigerians So Obsessed With Religion? by skyfall:
It's caused by an unhealthy mix of greed, ignorance, hypocrisy & poverty. I'm happy when I see all these shiny churches & mosques though, cos all hope is not lost.

In future when Nigerians are eventually tired of their religiosity, those places will be converted to schools, gyms & community centres. I'm glad the internet is really helping to speed up that future.
PoliticsRe: Okonjo-iweala's Mother Was Kidnapped For Non-payment Of Subsidy Funds by skyfall: 4:56am On Dec 18, 2012
Abegi make we hear word. Mumu woman looking for sympathy. Was it Not Nigerians who forced your clueless govt to clean up the subsidy system despite all your shameful lies?

Your mother was not the first person to be kidnapped and I'm sure won't be the last.

PoliticsRe: Crashed Helicopter Well Maintained - Navy by skyfall: 10:13pm On Dec 17, 2012
Ok let's assume the chopper was fine. If the investigation determines that it was blown up and those men intentionally murdered, will the navy release that information to the public?

I don't think so.

TravelRe: Crashed Navy Helicopter Had ‘engine Failure’ After 10 Trips by skyfall: 1:53pm On Dec 17, 2012
The Nigerian military has become so useless that their officers and expensive equipment have become errand tools in the hands of illiterate politicians. Of what use is Oronto Douglas to Nigeria that our naval officers are losing their lives over his late father's burial jamboree?

Imagine soldiers following politicians all over the place in the name of protection, when we have the police.

No wonder they're accused of being incapable of anything apart from manning checkpoints.
What is the wisdom behind this law? I dnt think is commendable.
People use it to compromise and lobby for favors from public officials. Of course at the expense of the public.

So it's a good move. I personally see it as an unnecessary frivolity.

Car TalkRe: Vehicles From Unauthorised Dealers Won't Be Registered - Lagos by skyfall:
It's sensible to regulate car sales esp as it concerns the reckless display of cars at every available inch on the already choked Lagos roads.

But I don't understand how this affects an owner who's reselling his car privately or an individual importing it for his private use. It's ok for these 2 categories to pay a token to the govt but having to go through a dealer is simply stvpid.

Christianity EtcRe: Why Do We Have So Many Churches In Nigeria? by skyfall: 2:50pm On Dec 09, 2012
So I like to end my arguments "No wonder India exports cars while Nigeria exports religion". But on the real:

"Why Do We Have So Many Churches In Nigeriahuh"

With 10 churches on every street in Naija and just 1 in the US/UK you'd think we would sleep with our doors wide open instead of building high walls and fixing iron gates. Abi are we too far off from heaven than the US/UK that we have to ho
ld loud noisy lengthy prayer sessions so heaven can hear our cries? More still as a religious people we should be content and love our own yet queue day and night at the American and UK Embassies; jumping with joy when our Visas are approved. Abeg i no go school make una help me answer.
I see a lot of sensible responses here. In fact if you want to know smart Nairalanders, come to the RELIGION section. They pull no punches at all.

aribisala0: I don't know if there is a kingdom of God and have not many anyone who has been there.

I doubt it very much

I know I have a brain and try to use is as best as I can. The kingdom of God has nothing to do with this dispute.

Too many Nigerians have been brainwashed by these charlattans.
Please do not start any of that "the bible says" crap with me. Most of you have no idea who wrote the bible or when except for what you were told "men inspired by God" Have you ever asked questions about that?. At the centre of your doctrine is the idea that the earth and man are at the centre of the Universe and God's creation when all the available evidence contradicts this

On this earth "Godly people" "Ungodly people" and "evil people" all have money or suffer poverty, have good health, fall sick, suffer disability and all the other human tragedies such as earthquakes, cancer AIDS bereavement etc. Worshipping God has absolutely Nothing to do with any of that.EVERYONE in this world suffers some pain at some point. Do not be deceived.
i state without any fear all these men like Oyakhilome,Adeboye Okotie and ANY other claiming to give sight to the blind and similar "miracles" are fraudsters.

It is the superstititious mindset of Nigerians that these men exploit daily and so ignorant lazy people believe they will prosper by God's "favour " without adding any value to society. Did they not share in Cecili Ibru's loot and that of similar others yet blind followers talk of "annointment".
Enjoy the rest of your weekend bro. That's all I can say.
Christianity EtcRe: Man Sues Chris Okotie For Owing Him 14 Years Salary by skyfall: 1:24pm On Dec 09, 2012
Osareime: I usually don't comment on religious issues but that example of Jmartins I have to say something.

A pastor prophecied into his life and he went to sing worldly songs with worldly videos of booty shaking.

I like his songs oh but don't tell me it was the pastors prophecy that helped him make money from worldly music.

Ahn Ahn !!!
That's the thinking of an average Nigerian christian nowadays. Morality is meaningless to them, as long as you make money. Don't 419, kidnappers & armed robbers come to pay returns to the pastors in the name of donations & tithes? Most people go to church not to worship God but for worldly returns. Religion in Nigeria has turned into a huge joke.

EducationRe: 4 Lead City Students Died In Ibadan Auto Crash Early This Morning by skyfall:
flanrey: I'm not trying to justify driving under influence, It is bad. I'm simply stating whats obtainable in Nigeria today. A few questions for you...
•Why are the parking lots of bars and clubs always filled with cars?
•Who owns these cars?
•Is it possible for a regular drinker to visit a bar/Club and not have a few drinks?
•Do bar/clubs usually have drivers for hire?
I understand your thinking. The answer is that Nigeria is more unless a jungle. That's why each individual has to be responsible for their own well-being. That's why we sink our borehole, buy generator and pave your own roads. If you wait for things to be put in place, sorry o. Moreover, bars in the west, even in UK who are safety freaks don't have arrangements to transport people home after a night out. It's each drinker's responsibility to get home alive. The only advantage they have is that there is an efficient public transport system.

If you go out early on Sat/Sun mornings around VI/Lekki in Lagos, you'll lose count of accidents on the roads. People sustain serious injuries & lose their lives all for a few hours of "grooving." I expect anyone who values their life not to do that. That a lot of people do it doesn't change the fact that it's wrong.
EducationRe: 4 Lead City Students Died In Ibadan Auto Crash Early This Morning by skyfall: 8:55am On Dec 09, 2012
This one doesn't need argument. The rule is "don't drive at all when you've had a drink." If you think you can customize it for Nigeria, then you're OYO. If you kill yourself, the best you'll get is RIP. And if you kill innocent people and can live with the guilt and possibly a jail term, good luck to you.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan's Brother Died Of Cardiac Arrest by skyfall: 8:34am On Dec 09, 2012
Hypocrisy on display here. What's the big deal in the president losing his brother? Which Nigerian hasn't lost somebody due to our poor health facilities? If there was at least an excellent hospital in Yenagoa, would he have had to be moved to Abuja? And yes, doctors prevent people from dying. That's why life expectancy in the west is over 70 while it's 51 in Nigeria.

And stop twisting his word. Anybody with a brain in his skull knows they were planning to move him outside the country. It's a lesson to the @assholes that whatever billions they steal, they and their families are still human and are vulnerable like us all.
