click on ur Google map, while ur location is on. Dont input any destination. The little blue dot is where u are, click on the dot. A blue command page will appear, at the bottom left of the page, find "calibrate compass" click on it. If ur compass is accurate it will say: compass accuracy: HIGH. If it is not, den u have to do d tilting/calibrating.

Disclaimer; most low ends tecno, infinix phones dont have compass

Rider branded me a newbie on uber simply because I refused to pause a trip while she was fighting with rivals at oniru. Hahahahaaa. She said I should go and ask . Tgiirl, teelarcruz, jayooh, slamstanlee, deedee gentlelife,brogxy,lexylexy etc. Even engr gazzuzz to put me through. Heheheheeee.

What is required for this Job is not only a good car but a very good phone. I use Samsung J7 Pro (about 100k) and my 4G is always constant anywhere any-day.

i hear u. I am not a newbie and i know the importance of a good phone for the job cannot be overemphasized. Plus i am a tech savvy too.
Regardless, i use 2 good flagship phones too, ZTE Axon7 (128k) a gift from my ex, and a samsung galaxy S6 (55k Europe used i bought). Both have multiple 4g bands. I dont go out with both same time. A tecno torchlite phone is standby for calls. My sims are 4g enabled. (I dont use only glo)

My point is, irrespective of ur phone type or d network u use, it doesn't cover every area with same signal strength.
Swift 4g may be so strong at ikeja and u find ursef at owode onirin struggling to accept incoming request.
At Admiralty way, close to ebe ano supermarket, my mtn 4g is a mess, at glover road ikoyi, my 9mobile struggles.
Today alone at lekki 1, between 6-7pm mtn data signal went off on 2g, 3g and 4g maybe cause of rain or bad weather. 100% service provision is not guaranteed...

Few times my riders shared Hotspot with me especially on cash trip. Other times i ask dem to just give me what dey saw on d estimate, i lose 100-200 naira atimes.
But on card, i just tell d rider d trip isn't ending cause of poor coverage of my network, i will switch to 3g and refresh d network and if it doesn't end i will have to move away from here a little. And they always agree, and still give 5star.

his network could be bad at that point, happens to me sometimes. A change of position, say like 200m or more could help. His intention may not be to cheat.

I dropped some1 at house of assembly, den got another request from same point.
Called rider and she said she isnt in house of assembly,
I should come to d secretariat. Block 1.
I got there. At the parking lot.
Her pick up still shows house of assembly.

I waited like 12mins, no show, if i cancel i wont get paid, she called after 15mins+, that i should come to some other parking lot.
When i tried to, the security men said i was going the wrong way...at the same time she was calling and shouting "where are u"
I got frustrated and confused and had to cancel d trip and find my way out....

The next thing she sent these 2 sms
I just acted i didn't see them. But the thing dey vex me like dis

Drop one excited rider at omole ll now, at a point she was not concentrating, navigating us to her house. I got pissed already and planned 1star. As i stopped, she asked me
1 star or 5 star? (For her)
I smiled and replied 5star
She waited and watched me rate before she got down
And replied, i will rate u 5 wen i get inside.
(2nd time a rider will ask me for 5star, first was one chinese guy on uber)

But u Bleep up ooo, how can u be doing such a long trip and u won't be checking the fare.
If u haven't confirm it just do a review maybe they will balance you.

once its card trip no need of checking fare every now and then. Once u feel it's not correct, do a fare review before confirming, it will ne adjusted before tge end of the day

i just change the front suspension yesterday. All new. And dey finished by 6:20pm, so i couldn't do it yesterday. Thanks bro

Let me tell a small story here, on monday I was up 5am and restless, so I decided to leave the ouse really early, by 5:45am, I got to the junction of my house and turned on my uber app, I decided to go any where the wind blows, in my mind last last by 10am I would be in my workshop. Got a request and then the rains started.

Picked up rider and destination was illupeju.

According to map, ojoduberger- 7up-ojota was the fastest way there, but rider turned to choir master and started giving her own directions oba-akran-maryland- illupeju. I first showed her the red markings of traffic, but she no gree, so me I am not in a hurry to anywhere, nah so the total journey come be 1h44mins (1 hr spent in traffic) when we got to destination, I ended trip and she saw 2350 she come de shout! Said she only has 1500 but I should give my acc for the balance, me I read the rules to her, cash or card, I don't receive bank transfers I said we can go to an atm, she said she's already at work. In that case I said there's nothing I can do, You can leave have a nice day. She came down and I got another trip from same parking lot back to near my area.

Dropped passenger and pressed the report button, got a reply 20mins later that the trip I will be refunded.... Blabla bla they added another 500 for inconvenience sef. I smiled (uber for president!)

5hrs later I received another message, report on poor route, rider reported poor route trip now 0 naira
I mailed back I want my money refunded or DEACTIVATE ME I NO DRIVE AGAIN.

Omo next series of mails where sorry, please show trip and next thing I was refunded 3593naira for the 2350 trip.

Long and short there are a lot of fraudulent riders out there and from now on, once you sit in my vehicle I will ask 3 questions.

1. Where you de go?

2. If cash do you have cash on you or are we going to atm?

3. You want to play music? My auxiliary port is not working and I don't have Bluetooth so please use ur earpiece

first they favoured d driver, then they want to favour the lying rider. Dont we all need a voice recorder? To keep records of first conversation when rider enters or throughout the trip

Not anymore. Ild walk away on either uber or taxify. Taxify refunds now. A rider was telling me she'll shave 500 off my fare coz the route had traffic whereas she was the one that insisted on it. I told her to go with the full fare and reported the trip. They paid it so the days of seizing one shoe are gone

yes o taxify sent me message about refunds this morning. We no more die there

Please house, I've been sending Uber messages as regard my independence day promo money of N7,000. They (Uber) keep telling me they will look into it. I've checked my transaction activities no where was d 7k paid. I took my time to check every where on d app. No where was d 7k paid. I'm very sure of what I'm saying. I did 27 trips from that Saturday to Monday 1st. Who else have this same issue? What else should I do? How do I get their customer care line? Please house help me. Thanks.

I have returned bread and groceries at surulere before cos i quickly saw it like 15 mins after i left the estate within iponri. Rider was even saying i shouldn't bother...i had to take bike to beat traffic and return them.
But if its some valuables like phones, wifi or id cards, i will take time to trace the rider, using trip history and call history.
2 cases of iphone 6, samsung note 4 and few palasa phones returned....
