jideking: It's like taxify just like to do rubbish by default. My activity score was 99% before I knew it, it has dropped to 98%, i checked ride's and saw a ride that "driver did not respond" mind you I was using the phone all through and this is not the first time I'm experiencing this "phantom" request. Who else has experienced such? happens to me few times.... When network signal isn't strong enough |

blackfm: yeah it truly swings different ways. Same yesterday evening, took trip from Onike headed for Opebi, i saw there was traffic on Herbert Macaulay to Jibowu and part of ikorodu road to Maryland/MBA and suggested we take alternate route which rider obliged. I went through Fola agoro, came out at Palmgroove, service lane to Anthony and took independence tunnel to turn at Ketu interchange and linked Oregun through Ojota. saved 30 minutes and rider was grateful. its the stubborn ones that will put you in traffic and still bail on you. never again some are conscious of the faster route which could be longer. And they will be like : oga that's a long journey o, so i have to pay more. Picked a rider at liasu road last week, ikotun egbe axis going to magodo isheri. I told her traffic was building on agege motor road/lagos abeokuta exp, that we should take the suggested route-ejigbo to canoe/osolo way, oshodi then berger. That's its long but faster she said nooooo. We should take agege to ogba then ojodu.... I said ok. The trip lasted about 2 hours. At a time she was asking if we could turn back and go take the other routes. I just told her there was no point as we were more dan half way already. She was so pained being late for the party. |

hoha4life: In Lagos, this biz has gone down drastically. Our fortunes went south when uber reduced fares by 45% while leaving their commission unchanged. And too many vehicles on uber and taxify platforms, such that earning per driver has dipped seriously.
I have been driving on both platforms for 2 yrs now and I have done close to 3000 trips on both platforms. The issues are:
Incredibly low fares Car jacking, snatching especially at night Fraudulent riders who always refuse to pay Bad roads leading to frequent repairs Traffic gridlocks High cost of spare parts and maintenances Few or non existent price surges Death of drivers due to greater insecurity and accidents due to fatigue. High commission charged. Uber charges 25% while taxify charges 15%
All these and other factors have reduced drivers earning considerably hence any driver that makes 60k-100k weekly is a star and lucky chap. Requests are few and far in between,
Drivers are not meeting up with payments, it's very tough and unpredictable now.
Personal advice is dont get carried away by false info out there. This is the truth and reality. If you must invest, play down your expectations or stay away to avoid avoidable heart aches. hmmmmm..... Please don't say that... Last week i worked lazy some days... Like waking up late and resuming 7am or 8am...i still made 102k online trips on both platforms. If u need screenshots, i will post. Dont discourage others.... Just ginger urself and work smart |

If the big daddy is in top shape grade A naija used or Tokunbo 35k is the rental. ...anything less than that you are just setting yourself up for drivers to drop your car after wrecking havoc on it , sorry I meant dump your car before wrecking havoc on it first consider the type of engine o. Some are 2.4, 2.2 or so... For me anything 2.0 and above should be 30k. Weda na grade A or tokunbo... |

alstarmayo: Uber calculates your rating over your last 500 rated trips once you have a healthy rating after 500 rated trips. A single 1star rating wont drop ur rating drastically. But when u have not reached 500 rated trips a single 1star rating can drop it from like 4.40 to 4.37... Similarly when your rating is for instance, @4.20 or below a single 5star rating takes it to 4.23, and so when you are over 4.5 the rating grows slowing despite much 5stars rating.... |

pattybf: This is becoming a norm for uber drivers. They don't switch on AC before picking rider, at d end AC won't cool well.
I'm riding with one as I type, My kids n I r sweating n he insist it's working.
No prob, low rating awaits him! a good ac should cool up the car room within 2minutes. I usually put on my ac as i head to d pick up. Then engine and ac will be on for at least 3 minutes if i have to wait for the rider. Some riders are not ready before requesting and so take about 7-10 mins before coming out. What to do then; i out put off the engine till they enter the car. Meanwhile no one has survived my ac at LO in the evening. At MID in the afternoon, it will cool and dry ur face unless u adjust the vent away. Except in those very hot afternoon i put it at MID-HI. Very chill. Thanks to my ac man! |

Daveonoja: Omo see wahala oooo were I no know anything about....picked up a rider from a lounge in VI to Lekki 11pm Thursday on a card trip...got to d drop off ended d trip...almost immediately another request came in..from nearby the rider ended up telling me to cancel d trip...did a few trips and closed for d day...this morning around 8am got à call apperently from d same rider that she has been calling and i hav refused to pick that i only picked because she used another no...buttomline is that she said she forgot her wallet in my car and she had some foreign currency inside I was shocked when she started raining insults on me that I am...a thief meanwhile I never saw any wallet in the car to the best of my knowledge...she don call her brother to call me, him too don call me and they threaten me say he wld make sure I dont drive taxify again and that he knows Uche very well, also that he wld post my pics allover social media...meanwhile I record the call with all d threat...so am considering opening up a case against...the rider....but I want to inform taxify first...she claimed to have forgotten her wallet in my car around past 11pm...after drop off...I didn't see any call or message from that time till yesterday evening when she said she called and I didn't pick plus an SMS 9pm yesterday which I only read when she told me she sent SMS...any reasonable advice from d forum is welcome try and sort it with taxify and police. Some riders are evil sha. I once dropped a rider after 3 minutes he called and said he left his phone in my car. And i asked him: is it not the same phone u are using to call me? Because i only saw one phone with you when u entered the car o. He dropped the call and remained silent forever. I have seen iphone 7 Galaxy s7 Bread and provisions and i called them immediately to return. Then a bag of cosmetics and underwears in my booth when a rider didn't pack all her belongings. This one stayed with me for two weeks + cos i was pimping the ride and she begged me not to drop at taxify office, that whenever i come to ajah i should call her. At the end of the day she had to send someone coming from agbara to stop at my house at federal government college area ijanikin to pick the stuffs. Then she requested for my account details, sent me 2k lol. |
