I was only asking if there's more than meets the eye in it, or if its just coincidental, with the FAMOUS 666.

And who say it must be one man? you may not have heard of 3-in-1 before, or have you? your point doesn't hold water. Abuja — A Kaduna State born-Pastor Paul John of the Deeper Life Bible Church, Dawala, in Karu local government area of Nasarawa State, will not forget Wednesday February 16, 2011, in a hurry; it was the day that his escapades with Amina (not real name) the three year-old-daughter of his former landlord came to the fore.

LEADERSHIP SUNDAY gathered that the pastor had been a tenant of Amina's father for over three years. He was only made to leave when the adjoining building where the landlord lived collapsed. Even at that, he moved into the apartment of a close relative of the father of the girl, which is a stone's throw from the house of his former landlord.

The man, popularly known as Yarima who said his daughter's name shouldn't be mentioned to avoid stigmatization said, "We were living like one family. He packed out of my house because the one I was occupying before fell. Even the place the pastor packed into is still my relation's house. It is not far from where we live. We had maintained that close link since then."

According to him, the pastor lived in his house for three years without paying a dime. He said from every indication, the pastor must have raped his daughter on the Monday that she first felt feverish. "I noticed that my daughter's temperature was rising too high on Monday February 14, 2011. I had taken my younger brother to General Hospital, Asokoro, for medical attention. When we returned, my daughter, who was feeling all right before we left, was feverish. I went to a chemist shop and bought some drugs for her. She took it and continued with the treatment until Wednesday."

On the evening of Wednesday, precisely around 5pm, the landlord came back from work. As he walked around his compound, one of his slippers cut. He then sat down and began using any available iron to repair it. While he was doing it, Pastor Paul John, said to be from Jebba, strolled towards him, saw what he was doing and instantly volunteered to repair it for him. He however insisted on taking it to his house to fix.

"When the pastor saw me trying to fix the slippers, he told me to bring it so that he would repair it. He told me to allow my daughter to go with him, so that she would bring it back after the repair. I accepted because I had no ill-feelings against him. He left with my daughter. After a short while, my mind began to disturb me. I asked myself why I should allow my three-year-old daughter to follow him. I then walked to the pastor's house. When I got there, he was inside with my daughter," the landlord explained.

He said he did not suspect anything, but he simply wanted to see what he was doing. "There is a gate that one must open before gaining access to the pastor's house. The gate made a noise as I opened it. Immediately I opened it, the pastor came out and began to repair the slippers. He finished it shortly. My daughter was inside with him, but she later came out. She was not looking harmed. When I was about to go, the pastor asked my daughter to return home with me. Both of us left together."

When they got home, he allowed his daughter to play around with her peers who were in the compound. Then he went and sat at a shop near his house. While he was seated there, he had no incline that his daughter had gone missing again.

"I didn't know when the pastor came back to my house and sneaked away with my daughter. All of a sudden, I didn't see my daughter again. After a while, I asked my brother to look out for her. He found her at the pastor's house again. When he got to his house, the pastor caught him and beat him, then chased him away. He left from there, but didn't report to me how he went.

"Some minutes later, my daughter returned and was crying. She looked weak and was behaving very abnormal. Then I asked my brother's wife to check her properly. She did and discovered some semen drops and blood stains on her laps. She asked her what happened, and she said it was the pastor that did it."

That was when it dawned on the landlord that something was amiss. He became angry.

"Then I went to confront the pastor at home. He didn't deny. He told me it was devil's work. I returned and took my daughter to the hospital. The pastor continued following me, begging me not to tell anybody because it was devil's work. He also told me not to report the matter to the police. People gathered around us. In the hospital, a nurse checked her and shouted that he penetrated her. When I wanted to go to the police station, I told the people around to hold him for me. Then I reported to the police station at Masaka. They came and arrested him."

He said it beats his imagination that a pastor who was almost a member of his family could do that. He said his children called the pastor 'uncle'.

"They don't know he is not their relative. They accord him the same recognition they accord to us their parents. This pastor has a wife and even grand-children although he lives alone. Currently, the matter is at the police station while my daughter was taking to the Federal Medical Centre, Keffi, for examination. The first result showed that the pastor tested negative to HIV. We are still expecting other results."

When our correspondent went to Masaka police station, the pastor was visible in the cell begging for forgiveness.

"It is Satan. I never had an affair with any woman except my wife since I became a pastor. I have been in the vineyard of the Lord winning souls for Him. I wonder how Satan got me so cheap. I know it is a trial and I must overcome it," he said from his police cell.

Mr Yerima, confirmed to our reporter on phone that Pastor Paul has been sentenced to 3 1/2 years in prison and he is to pay to the sum N150,000 (One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira after he has finished serving his prison term. " I am not happy with this judgement" he said.

Excuse me, but tackling of corruption equates to tackling much of Nigeria's current problems. You reduce corruption by just 20% and you will note SIGNIFICANT improvement in all sectors of Nigerian living. The level at which it is today is not conduscive for development.

Also, I no go lie, I did not know power shortage until IBB came on the scene. Even in our village, we get light during the short Buhari years.

If you read my post, i said corruption maybe one of our major problems but it cannot solve all of our problems. Yes we need to tackle corruption, and who says Jonathan has disregarded that? I'm not vouching for him, but what i'm saying is we need real leaders who can give us the enabling environment for things to thrive. Buhari is past his prime already and isn't cut for the 21st century democratic leadership of a diverse nation like Nigeria.

Then you are saying you are oblivious of the fact that Jonathan has already provided a blueprint on Power? Imagine you are honest with yourself and have all the insider knowledge about our power situation, you think it takes just about 12 months to solve all of Nigeria's power problems? And Jonathan was made Acting President when? Wasn't it around March or something? So you think he has spent more time than Buhari did while in office from Jan 1984 to Aug 1985?

Buhari to me, is old school. he's almost 70 yrs old, he functioned during the military era and didn't solve all of Nigeria's problems, or was it after his tenure we started having electricity and employment problems? It's just that in his time, Idiagbon was quite effective and it was a military era that suppressed people's opinions about government and he didnt get to stay long in office before IBB overthrew him. In a democracy, i'm afraid he won't be able to function as well as we'd want him to. I'm not sure what his positions are on the economy, power, industrialization, modern day agriculture, employment, security, health, education and much more. Governance today is more than providing good roads and basic neccessities of life. How compliant is he with the times, with changes on the world stage and such? He might mean well, but i'm afraid he just won't be able to deliver the goodies.

Corruption maybe one of our major problems, but it can never solve all of Nigeria's problems. We need leadership that thinks deeper than that. If Buhari can solve the corruption problems, who says Rinadu can't? And you didnt answer the above raised questions of what happened to the missing money when Buhari left PTDF. When Buhari was President, are you saying we had electricity 24hrs or even 12 hours daily? How does he hope to industrialise the country, with government funds? please explain rather than blow empty words.

How about the double standards Buhari exercised when he assumed power by ousting Shagari's government: he placed Shehu Shagari, the then President on house arrest while he sent Alex Ekueme, the Vice President to Kirikiri Prison? What would you call that?

Buhari is almost 70 years old, what can he possibly offer Nigerians at this time? Remember he functioned purely during the Analog era, but the world is a global village and we are in the digital age now. What innovative, revolutionary leadership and dividends of democracy can Buhari offer Nigerians other than probably sitting in the office and signing files?

Buhari doesn't cut across as someone who can function perfectly in a democratic setting. He's more of an introvert who doesn't talk much and i'm not sure if he has a sense of humour. Nigerians want a leader that can connect with them, can Buhari connect with us, youths and the elderly alike?

I'm from the South-South and i believe GEJ's ascendancy is purely by divine provisioning. But who knows, it may have been a strategy to sideline the hijackers of our economy and politics, and maybe the grand design was to make a fresh evolution/revolution in our political space by ultimately dethroning PDP and enthroning some other party. That being said, i was hoping my vote would go for GEJ/Sambo, not until the BB (BlackBerry/BuhariBakare) connection came on board, and it seems maybe there's a bigger picture, and greater hope for Nigeria. I personally like the integrity levels of the BB team, and what potential that could translate to.

I would like to know what BB2011 holds for us Nigerians, what are they coming up with? What strategies are they looking to adopt to moving us to the next level. Personality alone will not work wonders, you need to be deeply insightful to know what you want to deliver and how to go about it. If BuhariBakare combination can articulate that to Nigerians, I'm sure they'll get their votes. Also it would be nice to know if Buhari and Bakare will sign a pact to ensure he doesn't tow the path of islamizing Nigeria.

Voting GEJ as one from the SouthSouth doesnt mean GEJ would solve all of the Niger Delta problem, neither does it mean Buhari would solve all the problems in the north. Government will never do everything for us, so its left for me to do what i have to do, to ensure i'm good career-wise or business-wise irrespective of who rules. Buhari won't stop a Southerner from making money legally, neither will GEJ stop a northerner or whoever from making money legally.

2010 was a good year. God has been faithful. Finished my MBA, had good health, got promoted at work, four to five years with my fiancee and we're still going great, God's been good. Looking forward to a much better 2011, cos the path of the just shines brighter and brighter unto the perfect day.

Well, i just saw part of the session SLS had with the senate committee. Sanusi confirmed his statement in front of the committee that 25% of FG overheads are for the national assembly. that's for 2010. he said the FG overheads was N536, 268, 049, 280.00 while the NASS budget was N136, 259, 768, 112. However, he said many of the newspapers quoted only one sentence out of his speech of over 2 hours. He said what he was talking about had to do with inflationary part of FG expenses/budget and so on. and when govt has to finance its budget through debt, it is wise to look at issues that tend to blow up the budget. The ratio of NASS budget to FG overheads in 2008 was 14.19%, in 2009 it was 19.27% and in 2010 it is 25.41%, i like the way he stood his ground, he didnt bow to pressure, he was respectful but firm,

am i the only one that noticed that the poster mentioned the 30% to 10% rate but failed to mention where Atiku quoted the statement unlike how he quoted the clearing of imported goods within 48 hours?

That said, even if he said it but wasn't quoted, i think he's just displaying his ignorance. all in the name of wanting to sound as though he has the best plans/programme when elected. the guy should go and sit down, and enjoy his stolen/looted funds jare. Or better still, let him think harder on viable ways Nigeria's problems can be solved, not promising heaven because he thinks we're gullible.

It's a four way thing;
1. Allow the importation of those items, and place high taxes on them (For income), while subsidizing cost of production for local manufacturers to compete (If they exist)
2. Provide efficient basic and advanced infrastructures
3. Attract  FDI from foreign manufaturers that export to Nigeria and encourage importers to produce locally.
4. Reduce the number of custom officials and make the job easier, technologically advanced, professional and efficient.

No need for outright ban. Even local manufacturers need cheap imported materials. A country cannot have it all. This can bring out the efficiency in local manufacturers.

In Nigeria, economics (macro or micro) doesn't work the way it should work in an ideal setting. Has anyone see prices of any commodity(goods or services) fall after having risen? Even when inflation recedes, previously jacked up prices refuse to find their natural balance which ought to be a downward review in such instance.
