Here is a wise saying, "Lucky is the man who is the first love of a woman, but luckier is the woman who is the last love of a man". Author of the quote unknown. |
@mbulela you are also encouraged to visit the website and get the first hand info, you can do that from the comfort of your chair, i guess. wont hurt to watch a live service online. |
Fhemmmy:You never know, in the course of his teachings, he might make one or two references, not exactly like giving details, but more like stating the rationale, you never know, |
It intrigues me how Oyedepo beefers would so eagerly get on their keyboards to type slanderous words against the man. I see nothing wrong in what he did and his position. Maybe you all would have preferred that he disregarded the invitation to see the president, and pray for him, or better still, announce in the media, the details of his visit. He has a right to keep mute and those asking him questions are not his church members to whom he might owe some explanation. I believe he would say something about it in church when ministering on sunday, (this yar'adua visit just happened like two days ago). So for all whose ears are itching to know what transpired, you are invited to Cannanland this Sunday 11th April, 2010 (there are 3 services; 6:30am, 8:45am and 11.00am). If you can't make it due to your geographical location, you can hook up to the live services @ http://www.davidoyedepoministries.org/live-media-center. You are welcome! |
@topic, Anyways wats the fuss about being a handsome dude? While there are many fine guys around, some dont just cut it and same goes for ladies. For some it goes into their heads that they're fine and they might not even be it. As a guy, over the years, i've toasted and i've been toasted. Infact, i've been toasted as much as i have toasted (in d past though). Infact there are times when (as a guy) you even get to lay your catch on the first date, and she definitely would find it hard to say no (without spending a dime), of course, these usually end up as flings, as u wouldnt want to have anything to do with them afterwards. I blame most ladies for swarming like bees around guys that are supposedly fine. Beauty actually is in the eyes of the beholder, and the things i hold as beauty in any lady include in order of priority; Fear of God, Intelligence, Actual Beauty and Humility. Same i think should apply to guys. Faithful guys that are already in serious relationships also wouldnt have time to be swept off their feet by the most beautiful or richest ladies in the world. Just my opinions sha. |
GTB is actually the best bank in my opinion. I've banked with them for close to five years now. The only problem these days is the congestion of new customers and its effect on the bank's existing infrastructure, particularly ATM transaction in areas of Lagos state where people reside more. Once its a weekend, i know i can't get money on sundays in particular ATMs by Sunday as people would have exhausted the cash available a day earlier, but there are still other branches though far apart, where one would still get money from the ATM anytime of the day or week. My suggestion is for them to try and note these branches where money is quickly exhausted in the ATMs and devise a means of reloading them even during weekends. Of course a few other banks around with less customer patronage have their ATMs coming to the rescue, only that sometimes too they get exhausted, but only after GTB. All other things being equal, GTB is still naija's best and customer-friendly bank. |
@ topic Has anyone ever used DSTV mobile service from MTN since it was launched? i'd like to get feedbacks pls. |
Jarus:At least he still has his hands in the Nigerian financial pie. He also still has his shares (no be small tin o). Besides he could leverage his time for many other productive things, not to forget he's also on the board of other companies, btw, what did you guys discuss? ![]() |
Jarus:Atedo Peterside is still the chairman of Stanbic IBTC Plc, correct me if i'm wrong. I think he's still very much active in the scene. And besides, with newbranches currently springing up all around Lagos (many are still under construction), i think the bank doesn't intend to sit on the fence in terms of commercial banking (personal & business banking) but of course we know their strong points still remain investment banking and wealth/asset management. They are the only bank among the 24 or so banks that is a Pension Fund Administrator (PFA). |
Nafdac job was easier for Dora than being a minister for Information. In politics you just have to be diplomatic, and that's what Dora has been trying to do, representing the government of the day on one hand and staying true to her conscience on the other hand. At times, there must bbe compromises, but i think she has done very well so far. Asking her sick boss to resign was a weighed choice, something she couldn't have done before now. I salute her courage. THUMBS UP, Madam Dora!!! Even if your efforts yield little dividends. I think Goodluck also has been playing his cards to carefully, we all know the PDP and northern cabals dont just want power to return to the south that easily (even if its only temporarily), so Goodluck is being careful, hoping people would fight for him (that's if he really cares about the position anyways). One thing seems almost certain, anyways; PDP cannot field Goodluck as their Presidential Candidate for 2011 elections, except he probably wants to remain the VP. |
@JustCash, I've been following your posts and i must say that they are commendable. You've been spot on, speaking my mind on every occasion. keep it up, bro! |
eldee:That's different from what happens every day inside the home. We have seen couples making a front to outsiders but what's happening in their home is a different ball game entirely. |
michelin89:Agreed. There are some men that are to eager to spoil their wives and love them. They are wary of letting it get into their heads such that they start misbehaving, So really it's a two-way thing! Remember what proverbs says about the contentious woman? Am not sure it says anything about the man whodoesn't love his wife enough. Truth is men love their wives ALWAYS, but its the expression of that love that i'm talking about. |
michelin89:Who wouldn't want to love his wife? Of course any right thinking man that married his wife loves her, It makes it easy for him to express it, when she caresses his ego, rather than be nonchalant about it. ![]() |
A little secret for women: Know how to praise your man; even if he's not all that, Know what to do to make his head swell. He'll love you even more. Make him know how much you respect and adore him, and he'll be under your armpit I'm not trying to be spiritual here, butits the same with God; when we praise Him, he moves on our behalf. You offer him praise etc, and he'll give you an open cheque. Not am not saying you shouldn't say things as they are, or berate him when he does soemthing wrong, but going by the secrets of women that have had blissful marriages, that's one secret that always works for them. |
davidylan:Spot on, Whether we like it or yes, a man is the head, He could be understanding or not choose to be, he's still the head. |
michelin89:Yeah, but experience has apart to play in decision-making, even if the woman was experienced/older. Bottomline is that the man should have the final say, after analysing your opinion. |
eldee:What if its not communication, cos we communicate perfectly. What if its "i too know" on her part? |
michelin89:The man is always supposed to be the head, age notwithstanding, |
stillwater:No---not at all. Maybe i'm talking from my own experiences. Lets say i've been in a relationship for over four years, we're in courtship currently, and she's this beautiful, intelligent and classy girl. A 1st class graduate, things moving smooth for her, (same with me too), But she's always had this independent outlook to life, Hardly takes advice (likes doing what'son her mind), am older and more experienced so of course i tell her things to beware of but she thinks am being too protective, often times it turns out i'm right, and i'm usually pissed. Everything about the relationship is perfect except for the one fact (d submissive factor). Sometimes i just wish she'd just shut her mouth while i'm talking, not that i'm saying one and she's saying five, see what i mean? |
And no one is saying it should be a master-slave thing (far from that). |
stillwater:Basically, the point is when the foundation isn't right, you can't get the best results. Most of such women knew the kind of husband they were marrying but decided to overlook it during courtship. Yes, I'm a christian, and a very good one at that. Meekness is not gender-specific like you rightly mentioned, but the mandate of the woman in the scriptures is to submit only meek womencan submit to their husbands. Men, on the other hand are mandated to love their wives as Christ loved the church. |
Some men love but don't know how to show it, Others (like me), know how to express their love to their women, big time! It's a question of how respectful can the woman be, all the way? |
stillwater:Ther's no end to the tread, cos we all know no one is perfect. Even relationships with zero quarrels and fights are never perfect. Compromise is usually reached at some point. I noticed that it's actually the women who have always had this independent approach to life, or those that have had history of single parenting as kids, or those whose parents used to fight each other, that usually resorts to this, just to assert their importance. If only women would learn to be meek,, marriage would be so blissful. |
Women don't see that their men want to love them wholeheartedly, If there's anything that bruises a man, it's the lack of respect their women give them, Men crave respect from their wives/girlfriends, whatever. |

MyJoe:Only points to the facts that the banks have been up for grabs all along. "Government ownership" (doesn't sound like nationalising?) - what if there are no buyers? (anyways, i have no problems with the reforms going on, but to say there is no plot therein, is being blind to reality). I believe they'll definitely find buyers for some of the banks (the ones that had been targeted all along). |
MyJoe:Maybe you need to know what the Minister of Finance's position on this is. The eight troubled banks are Intercontinental Bank Plc, Union Bank of Nigeria Plc, Afribank Nigeria Plc, Finbank Nigeria Plc, Oceanic Bank International Plc, Bank PHB Plc, Spring Bank Plc and Equatorial Trust Bank Ltd. In addition to sacking the chief executives and executive directors of the banks, the apex bank also injected N600 billion tier two capital (long term loan) into the banks. However, despite denials by the CBN that it is not planning to sell the banks, Minister of Finance, Dr. Mansur Mukhtar, disclosed that the Federal Government is already looking for investors to buy the banks. Speaking at a joint press conference of African Finance Ministers at Istanbul Turkey, Mukhtar said: “We expect that shareholders will be given time to recapitalise banks and also we are looking for new capital injection from investors from both local and foreign banks, and we would expect that the creation of an asset management company to remove some of the toxic assets and boost liquidity. “We would expect that, if in the event that banks cannot be saved, we want an orderly exit. That would protect the depositors and the shareholders. And we will also consider government ownership as an interim arrangement depending on the time we are able to get buyers. So these are all options under consideration. For the complete article, see http://www.vanguardngr.com/2009/10/06/fg-seeks-investors-for-8-troubled-banks/ |
