Dear Nairalanders, It has come to dismay how our sports in the country is being handled most especially the round lethal game. Our country players are treated poorly by various club sides. We are priced far less than expected. Even players from Bosnia, Vietnam, that cant stand our country in terms of football accolades are going for better prices. The players agent are treating the players in an awful manner. Two weeks ago it was reported in the dailies that Taye Taiwo was ripped off by his agent over sum worth Hundreds thousand of dollars being sum from his bread company he owns in Lagos. The lists are endless. We also have problem of broadcasting rights. The Country dream team have played so many games for the qualification of the AAG& Olympic which none of their recent games were beamed lived for the viewers to watch. How can our team play neighboring black meteors of Ghana our next door neighbor and it wont be shown not to talk of those matches that were played in Benin. We keep yelling but nothing is being done to tackle the quandary. What of our local league. Its nothing to right home about. Home team always carry the day For example Enyimba plays relegation Juth FC at home and trash them 4 goals to nil but going away to play same Juth FC they loose away. Even if Enyimba goes to play a female team away they might loose due to unexplainable decisions. Referee favors home team. Fans hardly go to the stadium to watch team play. The stadiums are virtually empty even when they throw it open. Our league isn't entertaining instead we pay as much money with some bottles of soft & alcohol to watch English premiership, La Liga, Italian Serie A etc. I'm sure no NL's can mention Five Zamfara Utd players off hand. In this vein we are calling for everyone to come together and form and umbrella body were fans can have their say. We are all stakeholders. A new group called Football Alliance of Nigeria (FAN) is in formation. We have started gathering as much members as we can. In short all fans in the country are potential members. We can thus advocate with the FA& the FG on the way forward in restructuring the round lethal game in the country. We have ex players that sit down without contributing anything to the game in the country. I would urge the moderators to use the available medium for such change. I would plead that this should make the home page as it concerns everyone of us. The website of FAN is under construction and would be unveiled as soon as it is completed. But you can get to know more on our Facebook page using: http://www./171330462931709 This is group is being put across by Nigerians within and in the diaspora. Meetings are held every Sunday and Wednesday 5pm Nigeria Time. I would include the emails of the emails of the coordinators once I see the turn out as to avoid spam messages. But if you go through Kickoff you will be able to pick the emails and past post of the meeting. The next meeting will come up on Sunday July 17th 2011 by 5pm. Venue: Football Alliance of Nigeria Yahoo group pg Your suggestions would go along way to get us to the right track. Thanks |
what are the rest state governors still waiting. Are they waiting to see the cor.pse of their citizens before they commence evacuation. From checks, less than nothing passengers are going to Maiduguri. |
smooth criminals |
Probe them if found guilty sanction them HEAVILY. MTN would be biggest culprit. I also want them to look into Multilinks cos they have folded up without letting customers aware. The Law makers can even send EFCC to look into them all and let the law prosecute them |
Wednesday that some officials of the Peoples Democratic Party, who served on the Presidential Campaign Council of the party, may have disappeared with over 100 brand new vehicles used by the party during the campaign. Sources close to the party told our correspondent in Abuja on Wednesday that the vehicles were taken away as soon as the Independent National Electoral Commission declared President Goodluck Jonathan the winner of the April 9 presidential election. The vehicles, which were given to most of the departmental heads of the PCC, were aimed at easing their jobs while serving at the council. The vehicles included unspecified number of sports utility vehicles, 18 seater buses and assorted cars, donated to the PDP campaign council by supporters of the party and its presidential candidate. A particular head of one of the committees was said to have disappeared with about four buses donated by a company in the oil industry, taking them away to one of the states in the South as soon as the campaign was over. Also, another head of a committees, whose committee was given at least one jeep, a bus and a car, had also refused to return any of the vehicles. It was gathered that proper report of the activities of the PCC, including logistics and funds used by the council to prosecute the campaign, had also not been rendered to either the presidency or the PDP. It was learnt that the Presidency and the national leadership of the party was not happy with this, and might soon order members of the committee who disappeared with the vehicles to return them. Apart from this, it was also gathered that the leadership was also considering hiring a consortium to audit the campaign office. But speaking on the matter, the PPC Director of Publicity, Abba Dabo, said that it was not true that the officials disappeared with the vehicles. He said while it was true that the officials were yet to return the vehicles, they were in safe hands. He said, “It is not true that people decided not to return the vehicles or went away with them as being portrayed. The vehicles are still with them but I can tell you that anytime the party or the council needs them, they would be returned.” http://punchng.com/Articl.aspx?theartic=Art201107145251393 |
Poor services: Reps to probe telecommunications companies Written by Jacob Segun Olatunji and Kolawole Daniel, Abuja Friday, 15 July 2011 THE House of Representatives, on Thursday, set the machinery in motion to probe the unsatisfactory services being provided by the telecommunications operators in Nigeria. To this end, the House resolved that its Committee on Communications, when constituted, should probe the activities of the telecommunications companies and report back to the House for appropriate legislative action. The resolution was sequel to a motion sponsored by Honourable Eddie Mbadiwe representing Imo State on the ticket of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), saying that “the services of the current mobile providers are irregular, epileptic, irritating, expensive and sometimes frustrating, certainly not up to the speed to drive the economy of Nigeria.” According to him, “telecommunications tariffs have crashed globally, but charges in Nigeria have remained high and, in some cases, rates charged to Nigerians by the companies are on the high side, as compared with charges in neighbouring African countries.” Supporting the motion, Honourable Zakari Mohammed from Kwara State, on the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said “Nigeria suffers a great deal, it is only in Nigeria that you have network problem and it is the duty of this House to ensure that Nigerians should have value for their money.” In the same vein, Honourable Mohammed Onawo from Nassarawa State and Honourable Onyewuchi Ezenwa from Imo State urged the House to be more concerned about strengthening Nigeria Communication Commission (NCC) and Consumer Protection Council (CPC), so that they would rise up to the challenges of ensuring that Nigerians got better services from the operators. While decrying the poor services by the telecommunication companies, Hono-urable Razak Osagie blamed the CPC and other regulating agency for failing in their duties to protect Nigerians from exploitation http://tribune.com.ng/index.php/news/25133-poor-services-reps-to-probe-telecommunications-companies |
