I wouldn't just say 'Rest in Peace' to someone's loved one because he hasn't returned from his trip. He could have missed his flight, be hospitalized for some reason etc.

Btw, the fact that we don't take our own cars abroad doesn't mean the people we pay to provide the president with transportation shouldn't. We have taxpayers funded official diplomatic cars in our embassies for such engagements so why was transportation provided...? This is not rocket science.

I guess we take security differently. Most top nations make special provisions for their presidents wherever they went. This news had it that Buhari had to wait on a ride. What happens if the ride was laced with bombs? That's simply poor security measures.
Planning a presidents movement on any trip should be a proactive measure, not as reactive as portrayed in this write up.
If I had the means, I'd fire everyone behind the logistics of his trips. They are simply incompetent for the role. They should look at other presidends and see how seriously they take the security of their leaders.

I look at it somewhat differently. Though, these may be some valid reasons.
If we look at it from a gender ratio standpoint, naturally men to women ratio is around 1:1. Collectively, we have 50% chance of having either male or female children.
In the world we live in however, there are more women than men. Why? May be cos men are more involved in risky escapades than females - dangerous jobs, crime etc.

If we take the time to research the prison population in countries in the world, it's more men than women locked up, hence those men aren't available for women looking for men.
If we look at the ratio of those who died or got handicapped from dangerous events like wars, hard jobs, crime, accidents etc, it's still more men who are no longer available to women searching for men. So, the ratio of available men to available women tilts on the high side for the women.

I even read somewhere that if every available man marries three women each, there will still be some women without a man. That's how bad it is if the article is true.

That's why I don't understand why a huge fraction of our ubiquitous women are still doing yanga when available men ain't as much as they are, or why some men spend lavishly to impress women when the population of the available women is over three times their gender. Or even why men pay to mess with prostitutes; several women would pray for the same thing these men are paying for.

Why not just admit there are just way too many available women than available men?

Even making polygamy mandatory will not solve the issue - some available women aren't pretty enough or lack the qualities many men want and will most likely remain without one. There are many ugly and crude men too, but with huge wads of cash, their ugliness and poor manners becomes swag to many women-even models. In other words, available men get taken faster than available women, leaving more available women still available.

It's just the world we live in.

I still don't understand what country's president walks from point A to point B in the US. I would expect them to fly everywhere with presidential vehicles.

Obama went to Kenya with the presidencial vehicles stashed in the US presidential plane.

In our case, the president had to wait on rides or walk if he has to.

I think someone needs to take a better look at how these trips are planned. Walking around by a president is unheard of. Security is paramount.

The world has been like this since days immemorial. Some of our mothers and fathers went through all of this in their old school ways. Is it because they some don't tell us of their pasts?
I know many parents had their fair share of this in the almost past four decades I've been alive, their style is old school today. I don't know what if it was different centuries ago; I wasn't born then.

It's reality, men will always be men, women will still still women. Even if one doesnt like it, peer pressure will get them into it. At the end, all is still nothing. That way of life will always exist unfortunately and options are you either join them when you become rich/attach yourself to heavy spenders or make a u-turn like face your book/bible/quoran.

It's simply the world we live in.
