Do you think the average foreigner knows the difference btw Igbo,Yoruba and Hausa??To them,we are all the same.
Btw Nigerians are "racist" to themselves so y'all have no right to complain about discrimination anywhere in the world.Clean your house first before you complain of someone else's.
There's a huge difference between racism and tribalism. Nigeria deals with more of tribalism, not racism. Neither is welcome though.

This is going to be long, I hope you endure to the end.

I know what I am about to say will be controversial and not "politically correct", mostly for the feminist and others. I expect a lot of backlash, abuse and calling of names, it is a burden I am willing to take on.

I expect everybody to come here and call this man names, he's an animal, a coward (I agree on this), woman beater and all sort just to be accepted. But I have decided to share a different opinion.

First, people don't just go about attacking other people, not a woman you are married to, not the mother of your children, even mad people don't frequently attack people at random.

The thing is everybody have a breaking point, no matter how much you try to endure and try to be the better person, there comes that point you just can't take it.

Have I hit a woman b4? Yes, twice. It is not something I am proud of, I feel ashamed of myself afterwards. Now I have had my fair share of relationships but one stands out and I pray no man finds himself with a woman like that. This girl's words are venom, she rain abuses at the slightest provocation. If anyone knows me outside NL will know that I am extremely quite, an introvert and avoids confrontation at all cost.

If we agree to meet somewhere and she gets there before, am dead. No matter the reason, she will call me and start abusing me, in fact if you are to hear her, you will call me a fool for staying with that kind of person. But she is not always like that, when she's not angry, she's one of the nicest person ever. Well educated and from a decent home so there's no indication that she will be like that.

The first time I hit her, we went to buy something together at the market. We ended up having a different opinion about an item and that was when she got angry, she started abusing me right there in public. It was as if the ground should open and swallow me, I was so embarrassed I decided to leave and go home. When she got back, she started yelling at me for leaving her behind at the market and the abuses begin. At that point I lost it, already am fuming from the market incident and now this, she has said worst things to me before and I simply walk away but this time I don't know what happened and I slapped her. Of course I apologized and begged and we got back to being normal, I noticed the abuses even stopped for sometime.

Now I don't want to mention what happened the second time, because not even a pope would have been able to handle the situation. At that point I ended the relationship.

Am i going to mention the times she gets angry and begin to damage my properties? Anything she gets her hands on she will destroy it. We all heard about Tonto Dikeh damaging properties worth millions of Churchill's.

The ultimate question is, why didn't I just leave the relationship, answer is, beside her bad moments she's a nice person. Plus I had to endure to keep up the relationship. Now it would be even more difficult for married people.

I am no way encouraging physical abuses by men, but before you crucify the man, have you considered what the man has been through?

No man should raise his hands on a woman, however we shouldn't be quick to throw the men under the bus either. This man is languishing in prison, some of us wouldn't have been able to walk half a mile in his shoes.

May God give us all compatible partners.
Your story is very touching and I can attempt to put myself in your shoes.
About you hitting her or beating her up, that's wrong in my opinion. Females are delicate beings, they may frustrate you to a point where you'll feel like strangling them, but what you need is to apply some level of your maturity and understand youre dealing with a woman.

I understand how guilty you feel for ever hitting a woman, I have the same guilt till this day. Over 20 years ago, I got in an argument with this lady I was messing with, she slapped me first and I slapped her next. Till date, whenever people talk about how they haven't hit a woman before thier entire lives, I just stay silent because I slapped that lady back real hard after she slapped me first. I guess I'm gonna just deal with that guilt till I die because I can't take the slap back. I just regret doing it and it's been more than 20 years ago. I wish I could find her again to just apologize for my actions back then even though I know she triggered me into doing that.

What you're going through is not new. Start off by focussing on yourself. Focus first on if you think you have issues with controlling your temper. If you don't have any problems with that, then let's look at the next steps.

Some women have this mentality that make them want to reduce you to a point where they're not with you anymore, they don't want you to be useful to any other woman. They'll be glad to watch while you lose everything you're worth. Is that what you want for yourself? I'm sure not. My advice to you is to stay strong, rebuild yourself, prove her wrong with your achievements, and replace her with someone that will stick with you through thick and thin. Then she'll realize she lost a gem. It's hard because that's someone you love, but it takes two to tango, it's no point loving someone that doesn't love you back.

Just my 2 cents.

i totally Agree! there is something introduced recently here in the UK called TACO cards because of lorry drivers fallen asleep due to long drives and no rest, the driver downloads this taco in his lorry before his journey and when ever he is stopped by the police, the police check how long henough has been driving for without rest (which is every 4 hours ) and if he hasn't followed the rules he will be fined and his license taken away in a serious case. and there's no bribery unlike in nigeria.
That's a sane way to address this type of situation in Nigeria. The US has something similar to that - a means of checking the competence and performance of trucks/tankers driving abilities. I don't know much about the US laws for these types of drivers, but I have a few friends that do that for a loving and mentioned a few things they're not allowed to do by law because of the heavy vehicles they're driving.

I know for sure I can drive almost any vehicle in the world, I bragged about that to one of my friends that drives one of these heavy vehicles. He invited me over and put me in his 16-wheeler. That truck had about 6 different gears, I mean gear sticks, ain't never seen nothing like that before in cars. I'm like "dude, come drive your thing yourself, I have no idea how to drive this one"

In the US, they have special trainings for CDL that trains them on how to drive those types of vehicles, what to watch for and what to avoid etc. I think Nigeria still lacks that.

These folks can cause way more havoc on the roads than a regular car owner that just wants to drive to work, and should be addressed first before focusing on regular motorists.

yes! petrol tankers are still needed but for short haulages to minimise accident in case there is any and the petrol are transported very safely and mostly in the nights or early before the public start coming out.

And yes! this incidents do happen but not as much as it is in nigeria. I hope you are not implying that petrol tankers death can not be minimised perhaps even Avoided.
You are entirely correct. I also believe the incidents can be minimized. I think it starts from having better roads than what we have now.

The rail system in many countries are way better than what Nigeria has now, that's why tankers have to move petrol many miles to get from state to state. Thats a risk because sometimes drivers fall asleep when they get tired driving.

The US for example have stipulations and have ways of tracking tanker drivers habits and behaviours, also factoring in the inevitable piece of them getting tired for driving for so long. Nigeria lacks that for now - tanker drivers /truck drivers are just treated like regular motorists that drive their personal cars. It's just much to be done in this regard.
Nice one bro.

I blame buhari for this!! angry
Why? Did he create the tanker? Did he create the victims?
Why not blame whoever is responsible for the bad roads that would make a tanker fall and spill it's contents? Just curious.

petrol tankers are not meant to ply the same road with other vehicles, in some countries petrol are transported by RAIL. all this petrol tankers death are Avoidable.
Please tell us one country that doesn't use petrol tankers and only rely on rail transportation. How the the petrol make it to gas stations? Rail?

Quick question! There are Biafra youths, there are Arewa youths each ready to battle each other. Why is there no Oduduwa youths? I don't see any similarity between Hausa/Fulani and Yoruba. Both tribes think completely differently and can never coexist. It might take another 100 years to realize that. Break this place and let everyone that think alike maintain their spots.

If your conscience is clear, don't let any woman blackmail you into your destruction. Ignore the likes of fortuneteller. You deserve happiness, most women have an inner spirit that is just meant to destroy good men. Let her carry her bitterness elsewhere, if your children are smart as they will ultimately be held responsible for their choices, they will cease to be a bargaining chip and understand what is going on. The western system is bleeped. Be smart, be safe.

It is you that is a mugu for Lucifer. So the wife cheated, took his kids away and wickedly used reduced HER OWN CHILDREN to be mere negotiation tools in her selfish game to extort money from him ..and u see nothing wrong in that. You have just opened my eyes to your true nature. Even paradise wasn't suitable for your types...u had to drag poor Adam to your shit hole. Hell is real though
Whom were you referring to in your comment? SmartMugu or @FortuneTeller?

I have no idea how the Lucifer dude u talked about came into what we were discussing. Why are you linking him to my story? Everyone was just sharing their experiences and trying to provide their type of advice. It's up to their audience to decide on his or her decisions. When you threw in Lucifer, I'm like - are we deviating here?

Sorry bro, I think what you're reading is different from what I have read. Understandable. But nobody talked about Lucifer until you came around. Me no send Lucifer men, I don't even know where the dude lives. I don't know him, he doesn't know me either, period, not sure why you brought him up. I don't even believe he exists.

Everyone was just chipping in on my story, no one is to be blamed here, not even @fortuneteller. She just spoke her mind like I did and everyone else did. Nobody deserves to be blamed for expressing their opinions. So, we just need to understand everyone thinks differently and our opinions are bound to be different. No one is perfect, not even me and my ancestors...lol.

Your comment is appreciated though.
