You don't have to be a lecturer. In my opinion , your skillsets are very valuable, they will be more valuable if you put them towards your personal use. Take your fishery skillset for example, several people make a living from just owning their personal pond.

While ure studying, focus on what you can do for yourself. No matter how small you start, you can make it grow with perseverance.

Personally, getting a degree with a mindset of working for someone afterwards is a waste of time. I quit thinking like that several years ago.

I can't read this stuff no matter whatever point OP has. OP, do you understand what paragraphs are?

The whole thing you wrote is just one long paragraph, who has the the time to read something like that? Even FFK writes way better than this, and I'd read his message before straining my eyes hoping to get where one point ends and the other starts in a writeup like this.

What are you young people doing then? Go and form a party, go and campaign , and go and win an election.

The old men you laugh at (and yes, I agree with you guys by the way)...went out and camapigned, and spent time on the road building bridges and allinaces. And they lost.

Take Buhari.....you think they just dashed him presidency? Buhari ran for elections three times, and succeded on the fourth try. Three times, Buhari risked failure....and won on fourth try.

(And yes...they ran Nigeria in the past because thanks to a group of young men who were not too patient and who in their idealism plotted a coup and upset the tribal balance things.....a lot of youngsters ended up being leaders. if there was no coup.....who dash Gowon head of Army, talkless Head of State.?).

If you want to win elections....you have to go out and work for victory. No food for lazy man.
I would hope we should expect to have more young people delving into politics from the next elections. After all, we have our own voice now - social media.
I'd support a credible young person that craves support. That is what I would consider change, not recycling these old men.

RomanceRe: Man Brings Wife From Nigeria Abroad Only To Discover She's Pregnant For Another by SmartMugu:
It happens all the time. I know someone who wanted to bring his Nigerian wife and 4-year old son to the US, only to find out that child wasn't his from the DNA the embassy requested. After spending so much to raise someone else's son for 4 years, the guy still hasn't recovered yet from the shock.

the youths in this country are really hopeless..
The way things are going, I don't see today's youth getting anywhere these old men have kept to their circles. Even if they all decide to die or retire at once, I won't be surprised if it's one of their sons or daughters running things after them. Yes, the average youth is a slave to these old politicians.

FamilyRe: My Father Said He Will Never Forgive Me Because I Didn't Go For Service!!! by SmartMugu: 7:00am On Nov 01, 2015
Befitting:
Hey Nairalanders, your advice and kind words might help me to get through with this challenge I'm having.
I graduated from the university early this year, immediately after my graduation my alma mata embarked on a 5months strike. As a result of this, I moved to lagos to enroll in a fashion and design academy, with the hope that immediately after the strike, we'll get our result and go for NYSC. The going was good until I received my result with a spill. I had just a course to rewrite, I thought the school will wave it since it was just one course so I decided to work it out but that didn't work. This resulted with me been left out when some of my mates are already in camp now. The feeling is devastating.
Now, I'm back home to rewrite the course. My father is really angry with, he said I've brought shame upon him and myself and he'll never forgive me. According to him, he has never failed in his life so why would I? He's making it look as if he sent me to school and I just played with his money. I feel like a failure and disappointment. I don't know what to do...feel like running away cos this man is terrible!!
Easy. Is your father a member of nairaland? If not, get him to join. Share his handle afterwards. I'm sure some people here would like to advise him personally without a middle-man, you in this case.

CrimeRe: Robbery Attack On Eko Bridge This Evening (Photos) by SmartMugu: 8:57am On Oct 31, 2015
I won't blame Ambode on stuff like this yet, I'd rather blame the current state of the economy.

Add the number of unemployed youths to the number of experienced professionals that struggle to make ends meet, yet still can't because the opportunities just aren't there.

Yet, some rich folks still take advantage of their situation to further enrich themselves. In retaliation some of the visibly oppressed would prefer taking the Robin Hood approach - snatch it from the rich.

So, how is it Ambode's fault if the crime rate quadrupled within the past 1 or 2 years?

The basic needs have to be provided first. Is Ambode responsible electricity for example? If a trained welder decides venture into armed robbery because he couldn't practice his trade without electricity yet still has to provide for his family, is that Ambode's fault?

There is a way a lady is going to be dressed witout xposin her body n still be attractive.
As 4 ur good old days, a lady can dress lyk dat n still atract REAL MEN of today. All it takes is STLYE, it luk lyk OLEKU, n I luv it.
It guys lyk u dat make girls go to d xtreme wit their dressing.
It doesn't take my mode of dressing 4 a guy 2 b attracted 2 me, instead,my brain n beauty!!!
If I may ask, when was the last time you dressed like that?If you never did, why?
I know it's style, and I actually value women who appear like that from time to time over the naked ones we see everyday. So, if you think you're different and can walk around in that outfit, I guess u deserve much respect.
