Police in Phalombe have instituted a manhunt for a father who chop off manhood of his biological Son for unknown reasons.

Phalombe Police Station Public Relations Officer Sergeant Jimmy Kapanja has said that incident took place on May 22, around 12:00 hours, one of the well wishers was at her house, all of a sudden she saw the victim coming carrying his short in his hand and blood was oozing from his private part.

When she and other well wishers took a closer look they discovered that the boy had a fresh cut wound and his male sexual organ had been chopped off.

When journalist asked the victim what happened, he narrated that his biological father who separated with his mother came on that material day from Mozambique where he stays and met with his mother in order to ask her to allow him to take the child to Mozambique to stay with him.

However, the mother refused and she suggested that she had to inform his uncles first before she released the child.

Then the suspect convinced the mother that while waiting for uncles decision, he should take the child to a nearby grocery to buy him some snacks.

Instead of taking him to to the nearby grocery, the father took the child to the stream where he caught and strangled him on the neck before he cut off his private parts and dumped him in the bush while unconscious.

After some moments, the victim gained consciousness and moved to nearby village where he reported the matter.

When the well wishers heard the narration they rushed him to Phalombe District Hospital where he was admitted and the Police was informed who rushed to the scene.

Meanwhile, the victim’s condition is stable. Currently, the suspect is at large and enquiries are in progress to trace the culprit.

RECENTLY, the Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke was honoured with "The Best Governor of The Year AWARD" by a Lagos based Champion Newspapers in a celebrated ceremony in Lagos.

The ceremony coincided with the governor's 63rd birthday on May 13, 2023.

I reflected on the award and many probing questions came to my mind which includes, what year was the Governor appraised? Was it in 2022 when he was Sworn-in on November 27th, where he spent only 34 days/five months of 2023?

The tradition I understood was when previous year's performance is being assessed and if found to be outstanding, the recipient could be selected or nominated for an award for that year. To put it mildly, someone could be honoured for his performance at the end of the year based on the previous 12 calendar months.

Looking at the ceremonial event, I was taken aback, when has such award become so cheap that ones performance would be measured within five weeks that ended the previous year?

Adeleke was Sworn-in on November 27, 2022 and the year ended December 31, 2022, from my layman's knowledge, Adeleke became the best Governor of the Year within 34-days ahead of other 35 State governors In Nigeria.

That is not to say that the Osun Governor has not done well but what was the criteria or indices used to measure his performance if not hypocrisy?

Immediately I received the details of the event, the following was my spontaneous reaction,
"In all honesty, what has Adekeke done to deserve the best governor?

Which year was he declared best governor? Is it this year 2023 that is yet to reach half or last year 2022 when he spent just 34 days?

What type of hypocrisy is this in Nigeria?
If I were the governor, I will politely reject it.
This is not a political opinion but from the sincerity of my heart.

The same set of people celebrated Oyetola with several awards until they boxed him to a corner.
It is very annoying.
I am neither against PDP nor Adeleke, someone that has just found his feet upon Supreme Court judgement!
If he is awarded as a dogged fighter who fought to reclaim his mandate, very good! But not this type.
This can only happen in a country like Nigeria.
This is my personal opinion.
Thank you."

I think the Governor should be allowed to settle down and face governance because governance is a serious business, it is not by 'butter and bread'.

I want my 'dancing governor' to note that, the same people chanting 'Hossana', echoing 'Buga' today will say 'crucify him tomorrow'. And he alone will be accountable for his actions or inactions in Bola Ige House.
I shook my head in disbelief when some high ranking Monarchs praised Adeleke to high heaven to the extent that he was endorsed for a second Term when he is yet to spend six months out of four mandated years in Office.

I was at a conference in one of the popular event centres in Osogbo when same set of people were praising former Governor Gboyega Oyetola and endorsed him for a second term, the rest is history. Internal party wranglings within the APC cost Oyetola his second term in office because they do not know how to manage success.


I believe Mr Governor is aware that Oyetola didn't lose his election for non-performance, he indeed managed the meagre resources of the state with dexterity.

My dear Governor Adeleke, watch your back when people are praising you, that is their stock-in-trade. I would advise you to learn diligently from the previous administration's mistakes and chart a new agenda without fear or favour, sentiment or emotion.

It is not all 'awards' that are really realistic, some will come as a bait while some are hypocrisy. Beware of praise singers, they did it for previous administrations in the state, yours will not be an exception. Watch your back!

Appointment of cabinet is very crucial to good governance, I will advice the governor to appoint based on credibility and capabilities not on political considerations. History will not remember anyone in any administration but the man at the helm of affairs in the years to come.
I wish Adeleke successful tenure and happy birthday in arrears.

Some Twitter users on Tuesday attacked the Presidential Spokesman of ATIKU Campaign Organization, Daniel BWALA for criticizing the United States delegation to the Swearing-in of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed TINUBU on May 29, 2023 as the Executive President of Nigeria.

Bwala took to his official Tweeter Page monitored by SOJ WORLDWIDE, that if US President Joe Biden is in support of the election, he should have sent the Secretary of State instead of a Minister of Urban and House.

Bwala added that the delegation is "further proof of US conditioner appearance or appearance in protest.

Bwala wrote,
"The delegation of US to Tinubu’s planned inauguration is a further proof of US conditional appearance or appearance in protest. The normal protocol is to send the president, vice P or Secretary of State BUT secr of urban and housing is to say the least an appearance in protest.
When Buhari was to be Inaugurated in 2015 it was Kerry, the Secretary of State that showed up. Fact-check me. Whenever the US accepts, recognize and endorse an election outcome. The send either the President , Vice President or Secretary of State.

IT is no longer news that former British Prime Minister, Tony Blair paid a courtesy visit to the President-Elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed TINUBU on Tuesday at his Defence House,  Abuja.

According to Abdulaziz Abdulaziz from the office of the President-Elect, the discussions between the host, Tinubu and his guest ahead of the inauguration on May 29, 2023 has to do with business relationship.

The details of their discussion was centred on bilateral relationship between Tony Blair Institute for Global Change and the incoming administration.

Blair expressed his readiness to support the incoming administration of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to succeed in office.

Blair gave the commitment on Tuesday when he visited the president-elect at the Defence House, Abuja.

He said the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, which he founded, would be a willing partner of the Tinubu administration especially in prioritizing its goals and delivery.

He said since leaving office as the UK prime minister, he had been working with governments around the world to help them deliver on their mandates.

He said Blair Institute have a project in place in Nigeria and felt it was incumbent upon him to meet Nigeria's incoming president to understand the administration's priorities.

"We would like to help in any way with your administration. We only need to know what the leadership priorities are and help in how to actualise them," Blair told President-elect Tinubu.

He commended Tinubu's campaign focus on key areas of security, economy, agriculture and power, describing the intertwined nature of the areas as critical to the development of any society.

He expressed optimism that with the appetite shown by investors to invest in Nigeria, the Tinubu administration could get the support it needs to spur economic development in the country.

Blair, however, acknowledged the difficult task before Tinubu and other leaders, at a time of global turmoil.

"Being in government today anywhere in the world is tough. You have things happening around the world which affect you and for which you can't do anything much," he said.

President-elect Tinubu, in his response, expressed appreciation to Blair for the visit and for his offer to work with his administration.

He spoke of the shared vision between him and Tony Blair Institute in their priority areas, but underlined the importance of tackling investment challenges and the need for social investment to fight poverty.

"Yes, we are challenged. But where is our courage? We can eliminate ignorance, diseases and poverty in Africa. We must work hard to ensure democracy works for our people," Tinubu said.

"We have to invest more, put technology in place and keep terrorists at bay because without effective security, there is no guarantee investors will come," he added.


The President-Elect promised to provide a conducive environment that would encourage investors and open up opportunities for the people.

Tinibu was accompanied to the meeting by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila; Vice President -elect, Senator Kashim Shettima; member of Tinubu Transition Team, Mr. Wale Edun; former Economic and Financial Crimes Commission Chairman, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu; Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Adetokunbo Abiru and Executive Secretary, National Sugar Development Council, Mr. Zacch Adedeji.

The 'Foolish Man' and his mega refinery complex Some years ago, Aliko Dangote, Africa's richest man invited media leaders to a luncheon at then Protea Hotel in Ikeja to mark his 55th birthday. Some of his guests sat around him at the centre table. They chatted freely.

Discussions about our country, the state of the economy soon veered into discussing the absurdity of our country, being a major crude exporter, and also a major importer of refined petroleum products. Our colleague from a major business paper said the local conditions were unfavourable to any investor who wanted to build a refinery. He then made a remark that I believe he would live to regret: "Only a foolish man will build a refinery in Nigeria".

Aliko who had listened to all our business and political pontifications, interjected: "I am that foolish man". A pin drop silence enveloped the table as he dropped the unexpected news: "My company has just decided to build a refinery in the country. But we are doing it big". Those were his exact words, as the multi-dollar billionaire told us he was willing to spend close to $9 billion on the project.

The media big man became speechless. The rest of us caught the contagion of being flummoxed as well, as Aliko expatiated on the project. He said it will be a petrochemical complex.

As the project was still on the drawing board, he did not tell us it will be the biggest refinery in the world, capable of processing 650,000 barrels of crude daily. All the hint he gave was that it will be 'big'. Our takeaway was that it will be big like Aliko's involvement in cement, sugar, pasta and other businesses. He didn't say it will include a fertiliser plant and a power plant that can supply enough electricity to Nigeria's South West, excluding Lagos. Initially billed for Ogun State, the Dangote Petroleum Refinery surprisingly shifted location to Lagos, just opposite the creek separating the two states.

Governor Dapo Abiodun may want to probe his predecessor, Ibikunle Amosun, why he allowed the complex to move to neighbouring Lagos.

The gigantic project is now sitting in all majesty in the Lekki Free Trade Zone in Ibeju-Lekki, covering a land area of approximately 2,635 hectares, seven times the size of Victoria Island. The complex is the world’s Largest Single-Train 650,000 barrels per day Petroleum Refinery with 900 KTPA Polypropylene Plant. It comes with a 435 MW Power Plant, which will be able to meet the total power requirement of Ibadan DisCo of 860,316 MWh covering five States including Oyo, Ogun, Osun, Kwara and Ekiti.

The refinery, according to its fact sheet, can meet 100% of the Nigerian requirement of all refined products, including Gasoline,Diesel, Kerosene, and Aviation Jet. It will also be able to produce surplus of each of these products for export. Designed for 100% Nigerian Crude, the refinery has flexibility to process other crudes. No wonder it is located near the sea shore. Today President Muhammadu Buhari commissioned the gigantic petrochemical complex. Just as we rejoice with Aliko Dangote and the Dangote Group family, we need to give kudos to the Buhari administration for ensuring that the complex comes to fruition, by ensuring that it was not starved of needed foreign exchange and taking a stake in it. For Aliko, all is well that ends well.

The complex will bring to an end our country's many decades of shame, for being unable to refine its crude and having to depend on importation, wasting scarce forex.

The 'foolish man' of 11 years ago has demonstrated once again that he is a man of wisdom, a peerless shrewd investor who sees clearly the 'bigger picture', when his compatriots are bogged down by parochialism and immediate monetary gains.

*2. We rode in locally assembled cars, buses and trucks. Peugeot cars in Kaduna and Volkswagen cars in Lagos.*
*3. Leyland produced trucks/buses in Ibadan and ANAMCO in Enugu also produced buses and trucks.*
*4. Steyr in Bauchi produced our Agricultural tractors. And it was not just Assembly, we were producing many of the components:*
*5. Vono products in Lagos produced the vehicle seats.*
*6. Exide in Ibadan produced the batteries, not just for Nigeria but for the entire West Africa.*

*14. Our toilets were fitted with WC produced in Kano and Abeokuta.*
*15 We were cooking with LPG gas stored inside gas cylinders produced at the NGC factory in Ibadan.*
*16. Our electricity was flowing through cables produced by the Nigerian Wire and Cable, Ibadan; NOCACO in Kaduna and Kablemetal in Lagos and Port Harcourt.*
*17. We had Bata and Lennards Stores producing the shoes we were putting on. The shoes were not from imported leather but from locally tanned leather in Kaduna*.

*To our dear Politicians, if you don't have the capacity to RESET Nigeria to what it was at least back in 1980 then please stay in your house and don't waste our time.*

A middle aged man identified as Kenneth suspected to be a YAHOO BOY was caught with two heads said to be his father and mother's killed for ritual purpose.

The incidents which took place in Kwara State was witnessed by huge number of residents who came out to see how the boy was caught and brutally beaten by angry mob who arrested him before he was handed over to the police for good investigations and proper persecution.


The boy whose parents were declared missing for almost a month plus was caught with human heads on his way to a herbalist place and during interrogations he confessed to have ganged up with his friends who introduced him into ritual making to kidnap his father and mother, killed them inside the forest and cut of their heads to be used for ritual purposes.

The boy who was brutally beaten by angry mob after his confession said the only way he could take his parents heads to the herbalist was to carry it inside a school bag to avoid been caught.

He ran out of luck on his way while heading to the herbalist house not knowing that he was followed by one of his family members who immediately drew the attention of a vigilante member to check the content of the bag. While he was been checked two human heads were discovered.

The boy was immediately handed over to the police.

The State Police Public Relations Officer who confirmed the sad incident said he was shocked when he heard the news and how heartless a child can be to his parents who brought him to the world.

He will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded by the police.

The Director General of the Labour Party Presidential Campaign Council, Akin Osuntokun, has shared insight into the confusion that played out at the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal on Wednesday.

Osuntokun stated that the crisis started from where he seated.

The party’s Deputy National Chairman (South), Lamidi Apapa, had attempted to occupy one of the seats assigned to representatives of the party at the proceeding in Abuja.

However, moments after a heated exchange as captured in videos widely shared on social media, Apapa was whisked out of the courtroom by police officers amid boos from LP supporters outside.

Osuntokun, who made a live appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, accused the deputy national chairman of obsession with recognition.


“As a matter of fact, the incident started from me. Our protocol lady usually reserves a four-seater for us – myself, [Peter] Obi and anybody… the party chairman,” he said.


“I think the man is obsessed with recognition because when they were there, that was the first question he came with. When I was sitting, he led his gang of people to come to me that ‘he wants to sit where I am sitting’.


“I said, ‘I don’t know you.’ He said, ‘Don’t you know me?’ I said, ‘Who are you?’ That was what he said: ‘You know me! ‘Who are you?’ I said, ‘Well, I know you but that should be as a nuisance. If you keep on pressing it upon me that you know me, it’s an aspect of the criminalisation of politics in Nigeria today.'”

Asked to elaborate on the so-called criminalisation, the LP campaign director stated that it had several manifestations.

“We are going to have a senate president, if the APC were to be believed, who became senator by an unprecedented judgement of the Supreme Court? He was contesting for presidency and senate at the same time. After scaling that, now they are bringing it to rub it in our faces,” Osuntokun stated.

FACTIONAL National Acting Chairman of the Labour Party, Lamidi Apapa who was rough handled and whose cap was removed by the Obidients at the Court of Appeal on Wednesday has issued a curse on the man who removed his cap.

The factional leader of the Labour Party, Lamidi Apapa, was on Wednesday booed outside the Appeal Court in Abuja, the venue for the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal by crowd suspected to be OBIDIENTS.

The opposing LP faction outside the court was screaming, ‘Ole’ (loosely translated as a thief), ‘Imposter’ etc., as Apapa’s supporters led him away from them.

This was as the party factions clashed and tried to attack Apapa, who was barricaded by the police.

The drama happened shortly after the opposing faction in the LP leadership crisis resisted journalists who tried to interview Apapa. 

He was seen smuggled out of the Court's premises without his cap.

It was reported that there was a disagreement between two factions of the party before the court resumed proceedings at the tribunal.

OSUN State Police Command has debunked a viral video on Social Media where two Police Officers were seen flogging a woman.

The Osun State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Yemisi Opalola in a Press Release made available to SOJ WORLDWIDE, said,  "the trending video on social media was the video of an incident that happened in Iwo during the COVID-19 lockdown in April, 2020."

THE rave of the moment is Ms Hilda Baci, a Nigerian who sets a new World Record on Monday, May 15, 2023.

She  broke the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking time of 100-Hour non-stop to become the World Champion.

VETERAN Nollywood Star, Murphy Afolabi, Producer and Director of Movies in Yoruba dialects died suddenly on Sunday, May 14, 2023 after a domestic accident in his bathroom.

Murphy granted a special interview with BBC YORUBA sometimes in 2021, he told his fans how he started with Elebu Ibon in Osogbo where he had his primary education but dropped out of Secondary School to pursue career in Stage Acting.

THE Osun State Police Command has invited residents of Osogbo, Ikirun, Iragbiji whose goats are missing to come for identification and collection.

FORMER President Goodluck Jonathan aide, Reno Omokri has words of encouragement to his favoured political party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on the strategies to use to defeat the President-Elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed TINUBU in case of re-run of Presidential election and the appointment of leadership of the National Assembly.

In his Official Twitter Page available to SOJ WORLDWIDE, Omokri advised his party to tolerate the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike and reconcile with others to defeat TINUBU.

He also suggested that the PDP hobnob with the Labour Party and other parties to defeat the man who seemed to be their political monster.

"Politics is about addition, not subtraction. And without the ability to work with people you don't like, you can't play additional politics. Nyesom Wike is a very odious fellow. We in the PDP know that. Tinubu and the APC also know that. Nobody likes Wike. But that does not mean we should not work with him.

Tinubu is a cartel leader. He is tainted. But as tainted as he is, he is also talented at working with people he does not like.

And that is something we in the PDP must learn and imbibe. We must win back Wike, Ortom, Makinde, Ikpeazu, and Ugwuanyi, especially if there is to be a rerun, so that we can run Tinubu aground. As for Peter Obi, that one is finished politically. But he and his followers are too full of hubris to realise it.

Let us remember that Tinubu is a gangster. A known drug lord. He is vulnerable. He has his Achilles heel. And Tinubu's sword of Damocles is the fear that he uses, like satan, to control his kingdom. Not all of the people in his patronage network kowtow to him because of love.

Buhari does not love Tinubu. Sanwoolu would love to be free of Tinubu. Many members of the SW caucus of the APC are eager to be rid of his overbearing yoke.

What stops them from rebelling against him is Tinubu's ability to give them the Ambode treatment.

That is where the PDP comes in. We must be the antidote to his fear. We must provide hope to the judiciary, and his minions that it is possible to clip Tinubu's wings.

And the way to do this is by working with the Labour Party and all other opposition parties to seize control of who becomes what in the upcoming National Assembly. We can do it. Kwankwaso has got his coveted revenge against Ganduje in Kano and no longer needs Tinubu. He should be able to put l national interest above any other now.

Erdogan did it to Fethullah Gülen, and we can do it to Tinubu.


A united opposition poised to take control of the NASS will embolden the judiciary to stand up to Tinubu, and make them the true last hope of the Nigerian people.

The Executive Chairman of the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), Mohammed Shehu on Wednesday disclosed that the Nigerian President’s monthly salary is N1.2 million, while Governors earn N1.1 million.

Unless the proposed review of the Remuneration Act for elected and designated public officials is passed into law before President Muhamamdu Buhari’s administration ends on May 29, President-elect Bola Tinubu will receive the same salary package.

Shehu revealed that some heads of Federal Government agencies earn higher monthly salaries than the president and governors, asserting that no public servant should earn more than the president or state governors.

He made these statements at the Economic Confidential public lecture and book presentation in Abuja, organized by Economic Confidential, Publishers of PR Nigeria, and Economy Digest.

THE RMAFC CHAIRMAN SAID,
“The salary of Mr President is N1.2 million a month. I’m sure some MDAs heads earn N5 million and some N2 million a month. No public servant in Nigeria should earn more than Mr President and the governor of a state.
“Elected National Assembly members earn N12 million and N8 million respectively. All those monies some people alluded to are not their salary.

“They have operational costs and other expenses added to it. These monies were put into it by the National Assembly as logistics and they are paid from the system.
“We don’t have the power to checkmate that. Only the Nigerian public can challenge that.”

Shehu also noted that the salaries of political office holders and other designated public and judicial office holders were last reviewed in 2008, indicating that a review is overdue.

Additionally, he mentioned that revenue from solid minerals is now being shared, with 13 per cent derivation paid to solid minerals-producing states, as is the case with oil-producing States.

The President-Elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday, congratulated Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke over his victory at the Supreme Court, urging him to quickly unite the state and settle down to work for the progress of the state.

Tinubu said with the apex court in the land giving its verdict on the Osun governorship tussle, all must respect the judgement.

Adegboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC) had gone to court to challenge the victory of Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) but while the Tribunal sacked Adeleke, the Appeal Court and the Supreme Court affirmed the Senator as the authentic winner of the July 16, 2022 poll.

In a statement on by his office, the President-Elect said, “I congratulate Mr. Ademola Adeleke over his declaration by the Supreme Court as the winner of Osun Governorship election.

“The apex court in the land has spoken and all of us must obey its verdict. It is the right thing to do for democracy and rule of law to continue to thrive in the land.

“I must also commend the immediate-past governor of the state, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola, for exercising his democratic rights as the constitution allows him to do.

“Governor Oyetola discharged himself creditably in office. He lost the office but did not lose his integrity and reputation as the governor who brought efficiency, transparency and accountability to the business of governance.

“Now that the matter of the July 16, 2022 Osun State Governorship Election has been brought to a close, I urge Governor Adeleke to immediately settle down to work and continue from where the former governor left it. He should now move to unite the state.

“I also urge all the people of Osun to work for peace and progress in the state.”
