The Nigeria Police has demoted one Adejoh Siaka from the rank of Inspector to Sergeant.

According to a press release on Tuesday,18th April 2023 signed by the Force Spokesperson, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, he said that similarly, one Sergeant Ndiwa Kpuebari who was also present at the scene but took no steps to discourage such inappropriate and shameful act was severely reprimanded.

Recall that after complaints and findings on video evidence widely circulated on Sunday 9th April 2023, on social media of assault, discreditable conduct, and incivility to members of the public, at Emouha, Rivers State, conducted a follow-up orderly room trial of the affected policemen by the Force Provost Marshal.

However, one Inspector Friday Obaka, who was later discovered to have been absent from the scene of the skirmish was discharged unconditionally after the proceedings.

“In all, the three Policemen will be posted out of Rivers State to other Commands and Formations to continue their police duties, Adejobi said.

He further said that the Inspector General of Police has therefore tasked officers and men of the Force to be diligent and uphold the lofty tenets of professional policing in the discharge of their duties with respect for the fundamental rights of all citizens in line with the provisions of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).

CrimePOLICE Brutality Continues Unabated, Another Policeman Forcefully Collects Phone by SojWORLDWIDE(op): 12:09pm On Apr 17, 2023
DESPITE stern warnings, suspensions and dismissals by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Baba to erring members of the force in recent times, Police brutality of civilians still continued unabated.

The latest video showed a Police Officer with name tag, Corporal Opeyemi Kadiri with Service No. 509745 was seen forcefully collected a phone from the motorist in order to search incriminating materials despite warnings by the Police authority against it.

Kadiri insisted in searching the phone despite a voice reminding him that, "the Inspector General has said you should not search our phone, why are you searching my phone?". His cry fell on the deaf ears of the Policeman.

It would be recalled that Nigeria went on its knees when youths went on rampage as a result of Police brutality in 2020 with a slogan, #ENDSARS.

The IGP has dismissed many erring officers time without numbers, yet this brutality still continues.

CrimeADAMAWA:. INEC National Commissioner Mistaken For REC, Beaten, Strips Nak*d, Esc by SojWORLDWIDE(op): 1:40am On Apr 17, 2023
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has condemned in strong terms the stripping of its National Commissioner naked aftermath of the illegal declaration of a winner in the Adamawa State supplementary governorship election by the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) on Sunday.

A viral video shows that INEC national commissioner (name withheld) was stripped by unknown persons in Adamawa State.

LEADERSHIP reports that the victim was apparently mistaken for the REC, Ari Hudu
Meanwhile, reacting to the sad development, the national commissioner and chairman Information and Voter Education Committee of INEC, Barr. Festus Okoye, said the Commission will not allow that to stand.

According to him, “A National Commissioner cannot be treated as a common criminal, a former vice chancellor of Usman Danfodio University was stripped naked and dragged, this Commission will not allow that to stand.”

In the viral video, the attackers communicated in Hausa language and rarely spoke English.

The victim was asked to tell the truth to save his life. “Tell us the truth and we will spare your life,” one of the men said in a commanding tone.

Another person ordered the elderly man to “put on your trouser”, to which the electoral official shook his head and mumbled some inaudible words.

“We will help you if you tell us the truth,” another interrogator said.
A background voice was later heard saying, “This is not the INEC REC. He is a national officer.”

FamilyINSIDE LIFE: Moaning Of My Wife Having S*x With Our Pastor Woke Me Up - HUSBAND by SojWORLDWIDE(op): 10:15pm On Apr 11, 2023
HUSBAND identified as Mr. Oluwashina Adesina narrated he caught his wife having s*xual affairs with his Church Pastor on their matrimonial bed in their one room apartment.

Adeshina made this known on a family affairs radio programme –“Kokoro Alate” on Agidigbo 88.7fm in Ibadan.

Oluwasina noted that the Pastor is the rightful owner of 4 out of the 6 children he has with his wife, adding that he has sent her packing on many occasions but refused to leave his house.

Narrating her own side of the ordeal, the woman, Alimat Adeshina, noted that she gave birth to twins twice and have a total of 6 children.

Insisting that she never gave birth to a child for the Pastor, Alimat added that the Pastor had written the family about her husband noting that he had at some point had affairs with her although trying to clear her out of the mess.

The then Pastor of their church, Pastor Adeyele noted that the family joined his church in 2013, adding that he had affairs with her in 2014 and for the fact that the husband of the woman is good to him, he had to confess and apologise for his misdeeds.

“They gave birth to twins in 2016, and I was the one who named the children. They stopped coming to my Church since around 2018 because a Church was established close to them.

“I received a call in July 2022 and to my surprise, it was her husband who called telling me to come take my wife and my children.

“I called our landlord Chairman and invited the husband, he noted that his wife is the one fraustrating him and they’ve sorted the grudges. He added that he married another wife last year and since she’s aware, she’s been making life a hell for him.

“In January, it got a call for an invitation from Akobo Police Station. I met the woman (Alimat) there saying that her husband had sent her parking with 6 children asking for how I could assist. I recalled the story and we were allowed to go.

“I received another call from Agidigbo Radio concerning this case again that the husband claimed that I am the father of 4 of his 6 children,” the accused Pastor narrated.

Narrating his own side of the story, Oluwashina (husband) noted that his family started attending the Pastor’s church in 2014 after his mother’s death.

“The case started when the Pastor told me my wife reported that I don’t dress well. I accused them of extramarital affairs then and I was later told by the Pastor that my wife will get pregnant and we must not abort the child.

“The Pastor told us to begin a vigil together and he comes around to sleep on my bed with my wife while I sleep on the floor. The first time he came, I told my wife to come with me but insisted she’s sleeping beside the pastor.

“I caught them moaning one day while they thought I was asleep, they were having a conversation and when I confronted the pastor, he accepted but told me to save his image due to his pastoral ministry.
“He later came to my shop telling me to ensure no other person hears about the case if I want to remain alive that he would come back for his children when they clock 15.
“My wife took my case to her family house accusing me of not taking care of the children,” Oluwasina narrated.

PoliticsPEOPLES GAZETTE Dares Obi, Stands By Its Audio Conversation With Oyedepo (INSIDE by SojWORLDWIDE(op): 3:31am On Apr 07, 2023
THE Management of Peoples Gazette has reacted to the threat of legal action by the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the February 25, 2023 Presidential election, Peter Obi.

Obi vehemently denied the leaked audio conversation with the Founder of the Living Faith Ministries aka WINNERS Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo saying it was a 'fake.'

In a Press Release signed by the Deputy Managing Editor, Boladale Adekoya said the Online Media stood by its story.

According to Adekoya, Obi was silent on why he failed to comment on the story, despite multiple efforts to reach him for comments over the two days preceding the publication.

The Gazette also reached several of Obi’s aides with the audio file and asked them to comment.

The aides, including his long-time spokesman Valentine Obienyem; close associate Mike Ifedi; and his campaign Director-General, Akin Osuntokun, all failed to comment after discussing the audio with their principal.

Bishop Oyedepo, on his part, declined to comment after an enquiry, alongside the audio, was sent to him as requested.

When Oyedepo mounted the pulpit the next day after the story was published, he did not deny that the conversation with Obi took place. Instead, he told his Sunday service audience that politicians of all parties regularly consulted him for advice on elections, which he gladly offered.

Moreover, Mr Obienyem, who served as the Chief Press Secretary when Obi was Anambra governor, confirmed the authenticity of the audio on his Facebook page on April 2.

Kenneth Okonkwo, a spokesman for Obi’s campaign, also confirmed the audio and insisted that it was genuine even in the face of relentless online vitriol from Obi’s supporters.

“Honesty is the best policy,” Mr Okonkwo said while emphasising that the audio was indeed that of his principal amid vicious attacks from his fellow Labour supporters.

In a statement on Wednesday night, The Gazette promptly said it was standing by its story and flayed Obi’s attempt to intimidate its newsroom.

“Peoples Gazette stands unflinchingly by the audio recording of Peter Obi and David Oyedepo as published on April 1, 2023,” Deputy Managing Editor Boladale Adekoya said.

Adekoya added that the audio clip was sourced and properly
authenticated in advance of running it.

“The audio and the context surrounding it were properly sourced and authenticated in line with journalism best practices,” the editor said.

He further stressed that The Gazette was prepared to go to any length to protect the source of the clip, suggesting that Mr Obi initiated the lawsuit with the aim that the organisation would be compelled to reveal the source of the telephone conversation leak at trial.

“Finally, we maintain in no uncertain terms that we will uphold the principle of source protection to any length,” Mr Adekoya said.

Mr Obi, 61, has led Labour since he resigned from the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party in May 2022. His candidacy has been deemed historic for its ability to garner a large following that propelled him into the spotlight within a few months of the campaign.

Following the declaration of Bola Tinubu as the president-elect by the electoral office INEC, Mr Obi rejected the polls’ outcome and proceeded to file a petition that argued that he should have been declared winner of the election instead.

Mr Obi’s petition has continued to infuriate the ruling All Progressives Congress, which has also made several allegations, including treasonable felony, against the politician.

As part of his response to The Gazette’s publication, Mr Obi said he would not leave Nigeria, notwithstanding the pressure on him by the ruling regime of Muhammadu Buhari.

FamilyInside Life: The Agony Of A Father By Pharmacist Emeka Ogbonna (pathetic) by SojWORLDWIDE(op): 2:29pm On Apr 06, 2023
My son, Prince Pharm. Obinna Emeka, registered pharmacist and writer was knocked down by a vehicle on April 1, 2023 at about 7.10pm at Kubwa. He was taken to Kubwa general hospital immediately and there was no medical doctor to attend to him for close to 3 hours before one doctor came and referred him to National Hospital.

At National Hospital, the doctors insisted that he would not be attended to until they had his full body scan and x-ray. The body scan and x-rays Machines in the National Hospital were not working and have not been working for close to two years.

He was taken to private hospital to obtain the full body scan and when my son, Pharmacist Obinna Emeka, was brought back to National hospital, it took the hospital medical team close to two hours for documentation before he was taken in for medical attention.

At this time, his veins have collapsed. The medical team after watching my son gradually stopped breathing came out and announced to his friends and people who brought him to the hospital that they were sorry, my son, the writer, my Prince, my pharmacist who worked with me in our pharmacy till March 31, 2023 could not make it.

I am in pains. Before his death in National Hospital, Pharmacist Obinna was a prolific writer and pharmacist with Ziga Pharmacy Ltd. He wrote his first book, Ice age, when he was in primary school.

In February 2023 he submitted his manuscript for his newest book to a prominent publishing house.

He was 27 years old. I am in pains. I took my son to Owerri airport on March 31, 2023 from where he flew to Abuja for a meeting and I flew to Abuja on April 2, 2023 to take his corpse back home from National Hospital mortuary.

He was full of life.

I have lost my son to incompetence and negligence.

Please to prevent further preventable deaths close down National Hospital because it is mainly a death trap.

PoliticsObi Breaks Silence On Leaked Audio, Pressure On Him To Go On Exile - Read Full T by SojWORLDWIDE(op): 12:19am On Apr 06, 2023
PRESIDENTIAL Candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the February 25, 2023 Presidential election, Peter Obi has broken his silence on the purported 'Leaked Audio' conversation between him and the Founder of the Living Faith Ministries aka WINNERS, Bishop David Oyedepo and the pressure on him to leave Nigeria.

In a Press Release on his Official Twitter Page available to SOJ WORLDWIDE, Obi said the APC led Federal Government "have come and continued to manifest in different ways, such as the malicious accusation of the Minister of Information, Mr Lai Mohammed, the circulation of a fake doctored audio call, and a pressure on me to leave the country."

Obi added that the audio being circulated is fake.

READ FULL TEXT:

"I continue to thank all Nigerians, especially the youths and the Obidients, as they have remained focused on the core mission of a New Nigeria that is POssible even after the February 25, 2023 presidential election.

Before, during, and after the campaign, it is on record that I have maintained my commitment and focus on issue-based campaign about a New Nigeria that is POssible, a shift of emphasis from consumption to production, a New Nigeria characterized by inclusion, justice, equity, fairness, and prosperity.

I repeatedly stated that no one should vote for me based on Tribe or Religion, but rather on the assessment of Character, Competence, Capacity, Credibility, and Compassion that can be trusted to create a New Nigeria!

The present attempts by the APC as a Party, and the APC Led-government through some government officials and agencies to divert our attention from our blatantly stolen mandate is unfortunate and sad.

These have come and continued to manifest in different ways, such as the malicious accusation of the Minister of Information, Mr Lai Mohammed, the circulation of a fake doctored audio call, and a pressure on me to leave the country.

Let me reiterate that the audio call being circulated is fake, and at no time throughout the campaign and now did I ever say, think, or even imply that the 2023 election is, or was a religious war.

The attempts to manipulate Nigerians is very sad and wicked. Our legal team have been instructed to take appropriate legal actions against Peoples Gazette and others.

While we call on all concerned Nigerians and the International Community to implore the APC and the APC Led-government to stop their nasty attacks, my focus and commitment to lawfully and peacefully retrieve our mandate to secure and unite our Nation, take Nigeria from consumption to production, pull millions of Nigerians out of multidimensional poverty especially in the North, and jumpstart prosperity through agricultural, industrial, and technological revolution remain unchanged.

Elections are over, and we are in court to retrieve our stolen mandate. Let me reiterate that we are doing so through all lawful and peaceful options in line with our legal system and constitution, and I continue to implore all Nigerians to remain peaceful and law abiding.

Those fixated with heating up the polity, creating divisions, tensions and hatred within and outside Nigeria should remember that Nigeria is our only country. Our focus should be on how to address the litany of challenges facing us, such as:

flawed electoral processes, the parlous state of our economy, unsustainable debt burden, lamentable unemployment and inflation, insecurity, and multi-dimensional poverty. A New Nigeria is indeed POssible, and God will help us. - PO"

PoliticsJUNE 12 STRUGGLES: HOW Bayo Onanuga Escapes Abacha's Bullets Fighting To Defend by SojWORLDWIDE(op): 2:05am On Apr 04, 2023
Without any equivocation, Bayo Onanuga, along with the likes of his ‘fellow conspirators’, remains among the greatest icons of Nigerian journalism owing to his fearless and passionate leadership for committed journalists in confronting military rule. The News magazine, TEMPO and PM News that he founded along with his colleagues became thorns in the flesh of Nigeria’s military regimes.

Now in his first-ever assignment on the side of government as the Managing Director/CEO of the News Agency of Nigeria, Mr. Bayo Onanuga casts a backward glance at the pro-democracy struggle for the cause of June 12, 1993 election won by Chief MKO Abiola. He spoke with The Nation’s Assistant Editor, ‘Jide Babalola.

Excerpts:

Where were you on the date the annulment of June 12 1993 election was announced by Babangida’s military regime ?

I think I was in my office and when we heard it from our correspondent in Abuja, we initially thought it was a joke. The initial feeling was that no, it could not be possible. But our correspondent confirmed that there was a statement issued by Mr Nduka Irabor. At that time, Mr. Irabor was working for the Chief of General Staff (CGS).

For most of us who took part in the election of June 12 and for us , as a news organisation , because we already had the result and we already knew that Abiola had already won the election fair and square, we felt a sense of outrage, we felt it was wrong. We felt it was a monumental injustice to deny Abiola of his victory. We did not need anybody’s prodding on what we should do. We just felt we had a campaign for justice to wage. That was how it all started.

Don’t forget that before the June 12, 1993 election and before the 23rd June annulment of the election, there was another annulment before then in which some aspirants under both the SDP and NRC came out to contest for the presidential primaries of their respective political parties. Just after the results had been declared, Babangida decided to annul their election.

The underlying political trend at the time was quite significant in Nigeria’s history. You found a person like Shehu Yar’Adua beating Lateef Jakande in Lagos. There were several political upsets like that. But Babangida did not just annul the whole exercise, but went further to ban the contestants from further participating in politics.

The ban paved way for Abiola’s emergence as an aspirant for presidency in the SDP. Abiola came out, believing that the regime had learnt its lessons and that it was ready to turn a new leaf. Also, the citizens also believed that the transition programme was going to be a real transition programme, dismissing the anxieties of some activists that the transition programme, as being implemented had a ‘Hidden Agenda”.

After the primaries of the parties, Abiola emerged as the presidential candidate for the SDP. Tofa got the NRC ticket.

We were set for the election. Then came attempts to stop the election with a court judgement delivered at night. But another court ruled that the election should go ahead. So everybody voted. I voted too.

Part of reasons why the annulment pained me most was that I remembered that on the day I was going to vote, I made a lot of efforts to ensure I voted.

Then, somebody said the election had been cancelled. It was only natural we shared the national outrage in our newspapers. As journalists, we felt we should use our own tools to redress the injustice of that time.

The shock and disappointment was the primary inspiration for fighting against the annulment?

It was central to it. And even more important was the need for the enthronement of justice in our country. Those were the reasons we joined the struggle to validate June 12.

You have had some problems with the Babangida regime before then. What really happened?

Before we started publishing in February 1993, I was working for MKO Abiola’s Concord Press, as the Editor of the African Concord magazine. In April 1992, the Concord Organisation was shut down by Babangida’s administration. Because what we published in the magazine was the ‘cause’ of the shut-down , Abiola asked me to go and apologize to Babangida and Halilu Akilu, the Director of Military Intelligence. I opted to resign from African Concord. Many of the Senior Editors also resigned. So, we went to form ‘The News’ magazine and very early in the life of ‘The News’ magazine, when we were not up to three months old , they came to shut down our office. We then had a meeting: should we just go back home and go and start selling fish (a good business at the time ) or find something else to do? We decided to continue and see how far we could go in defying the military regime.

We had no office. We were operating from a space given to us by a friend. We continued to publish as if nothing happened. Initially, the regime did not do anything, but when they found out we were still publishing, in fact we were even publishing things that they termed subversive, they decided to act further .

The last interview we published before they proscribed the magazine was the interview with former Head of State, Major-General Muhammadu Buhari, in which he told us how the Babangida group toppled him. The title of the interview was “How I Was Toppled: Buhari”. One of the persons who conducted the interview was Bagauda Kaltho, who was later killed by the State.

So, an interview with Buhari precipitated the final closure of ‘the News’ magazine?

Yes. What Buhari’s interview precipitated was our final closure and proscription. We just heard it on radio. We had advertised that we were coming out with the Buhari interview and of course, we also tried to whet appetites by disclosing some of the things Buhari said in the interview.

That week when the magazine was about to come out, they announced the proscription and also declared many of our editors, including myself, wanted . In the interview, Buhari warned that the entire ‘transition programme ’ of the IBB military regime was a waste of time and that it was going to lead us to a pseudo-democracy. Eventually, we had the June 12, 1993 election about a week afterwards and it was a peaceful election, only for the government to annul it eleven days after. Let no one distort history : the election was conclusive, the official results declared in each of the 30 states and Abuja. We already knew the results. Abiola won in 19 states and Abuja. Tofa won in 11 states. Abiola also defeated Tofa in Kano, Tofa’s home state. We published the election results in ‘The News’ magazine.

After that proscription and police announcing a manhunt for us, we again had to plan our next line of action. We had a meeting with all our staff and the idea was that we should float another magazine, ‘TEMPO’. The founding editors would henceforth play a backroom role. That was how TEMPO came to be.
TEMPO was going to be like ‘The News’ magazine, a normal magazine . I could recall that during the printing of our first edition, we were at the press and while the very beautiful magazine was being rolled out, the security services people suddenly appeared at the Abiola Press in Isolo, Lagos where we were printing.

When they came, they didn’t know me and they ordered the people working on the magazine to stop working. We were there because at that time, you needed to be there to ensure that no one succeeded in stealing your magazine . They ordered us, myself and Seye Kehinde, now publisher of City People, to pack our magazine into their truck. We had no other choice than to help them load our confiscated magazine into the truck. While we were loading the truck, we suspected at a stage, that the operatives could ask for our ID and decided to hide in one of the offices. And that was what happened. Later they were shouting “Where are those men that were helping us to load, we are looking for them”. Because we had worked at Concord Press before, we shut ourselves inside one of the offices. We left when we were sure they had gone.

It all happened on a Saturday night. We left in great despair and we nearly gave up but for the luck of meeting Alhaji Lateef Jakande.

I met him at a function on Monday and the news was already all over the place that the military regime had seized TEMPO. So, Alhaji Jakande asked: “What are you going to do next?” And I said: “ I don’t know sir”. And he said: “Why don’t you turn the magazine into a tabloid. I can print for you?”
Tabloid? It never occurred to us that we could go tabloid, until the old master mentioned it. It was not a bad idea at all.

I left that function; it was that of a newspaper, “The Economist” being run by Haroun Adamu. That was where I met Alhaji Jakande. I left that place to meet my colleagues where we were always holding our meetings. I told them what Alhaji Jakande suggested. Everybody jumped at it.

Luckily, we had the negatives of the seized edition. So it was the negatives that we took to Jakande’s place. The lithographers had to re-shoot them all and blow them up to fit the newspaper size, which is the tabloid size. That was how we rolled out that magazine that they said they had seized. It came out on a Thursday because we had to use the entire Tuesday and Wednesday to plan it . That was how it came out on Thursday. People were surprised that the TEMPO that the regime claimed to have banned still came out on the streets. That was the beginning of our guerrilla journalism.
Jakande was our first printer. But later, when we saw that he could not cope because the press was a small press, we now started looking for a bigger facility and the person that I went to meet was Chief Jim Nwobodo. He had run a newspaper called “The Satellite” in Ikeja, at that time and the paper had stopped coming out. I approached him and he agreed to print for us. We moved our printing to Satellite Press.

While all those stories were going round that we were printing underground somewhere, It was Jim Nwobodo and his Satellite Press that were printing for TEMPO. We were very careful not to go there during daytime; we only went there at night and before morning, we had finished printing.

That was how the guerrilla thing started. Well, we were guerrillas in the sense that we were not operating in the normal mode of other newspapers. We had secret locations where we held Editorial meetings. We only told our reporters to drop their handwritten stories at some designated places. Our typesetting was done then in central Lagos at a friend’s computer centre. He carved a small space for us to operate. That was how we ran it until Babangida left and Ernest Shonekan’s Interim National government took over , giving us a respite.

Abacha came in a few months after and all the repression began all over again .

There were stories about how endangered pro-democracy activists sneaked out into exile through what is now known as the ‘NADECO Route’. Tell us about your journey into exile during that period .

In my own case I eventually had to leave Nigeria in December 1997. Before that, I first went into hibernation in my hometown in Ijebu-Ode for about a month and it was the Americans that now finally gave me a visa.

On a particular Sunday, some fellows from the DMI came to our office at Ijaiye Road in Ogba, Lagos. According to what I learnt later, they stood outside waiting for me. They did not see anybody like me. When they found out that workers had thinned out from the office, they went inside and picked one of the phones to call one of the numbers listed in one of our magazines. Someone picked the call at our secret printing press.

They asked the man: ‘We are looking for Mr Onanuga’ and the man said, “It’s 8pm, Mr Onanuga has gone home”. They asked how they could get me and that man replied that he did not know where I was staying.

We had warned all staff not to give out anybody’s address.

The caller then asked the receiver at the press: “Where are you speaking from?”. The man said he was speaking from where those people were, at 26 Ijaiye Road.

“But we are there and we can’t see you”, the caller said.

The receiver replied: “I am in that office”.

That was how they left Ijaiye office in anger.

The next place they went was Concord Press – Abiola Bookshop Press where the office of African Concord used to be. It was a Sunday evening and they met the gateman and asked again, about how they could reach me and they were told that I left Concord six years before then, that they didn’t know where I was staying.

So they left and they now went to Mr Dapo Olorunyomi’s house where they met his wife, Ladi.

She had been arrested several times. Anytime they were looking for Dapo and they could not get him they arrested his wife. They went to her and said: “This man is your husband’s colleague, we need his address”. And she said: “Yes, he is my husband’s colleague but I don’t know where he stays”.

They accused her of lying. She insisted she didn’t know my house, that anytime she wanted to see me, she met me at the office. So when Ladi did not reveal anything, they said they were going to arrest her. I suspected Ladi was not well dressed for the arrest, so she asked to be allowed to change before following them. They agreed and Ladi went into her bedroom where she had a phone and called a friend of mine. She said: Look, there are some people here and they said they wanted to arrest me,” that the person should get in touch with me very quickly so I could disappear from my house. That person called me. The person that was called was Abdul Oroh who raced to my house that night and told me what Ladi just said.

Ladi was taken away and she spent about four to five months with them. In my own case, after Abdul’s message, very early in the morning of Monday, I took a few things and disappeared into my home town.

Later, I got a message from someone very high up in government who told our intermediary I should disappear from Nigeria immediately. When that message was delivered and it was from a source that I could not just disregard, I decided to leave Nigeria. The message was that they were not just coming to arrest me but that they actually wanted to kill me. If you go by what had happened before then, how they had killed Kudirat Abiola, Alfred Rewane and others, that was a grave warning indeed.

I left through the usual ‘NADECO route. Before I left Nigeria, I had to go and shave. I used to have some Afro hair on my head. I dressed like a farmer and bought some eye-glasses. I dressed more like an old school teacher and just carried a few things and headed towards Ghana.

The Americans were very helpful; they issued me a visa without having to appear at their embassy, they just asked me to send my passport and they issued the visa. I had to pass through the border to Republic of Benin, then Togo. I made sure that I didn’t stay or wait anywhere until I got to Accra, Ghana that night. Being in Accra, I was safe. Then I moved to America few days after. That was what happened at that time and it was so scary that when I got to America, I had nightmares for weeks about being pursued in Nigeria.

Also, don’t forget by that time, many of my colleagues had been arrested. Ojudu was already in. He was arrested at the border; he was coming back to Nigeria. I think he went to attend a conference in Kenya and he was on his way home when he was picked up. Kunle Ajibade was already jailed for life. Dapo Olorunyomi was on exile. Seye Kehinde, for personal reasons, had floated City People. Jenkins Alumona, our editor was in detention. So many other people had been arrested at that time.

In a sordid way, those were very interesting times.

Yes. Very interesting. The result was that after most of us had disappeared, they now came in and shut down all our operations in one day but they were surprised that after shutting down everything and arresting thirteen of our staff; the following day PM News came out again and TEMPO, “The News” came out the following week. They didn’t know how it happened. It was an interesting time.

What I learnt from it all is that many of us were not afraid because there was nothing to be afraid of. My own thinking was that the soldiers like us bloody civilians, were also human beings. Even though they had the guns, we have the pen. We wanted to prove to them that our pen is mightier than the sword. We showed them that with the pen, we could really defeat them.

Did you ever meet General Babangida after he left office and what is your reading of his disposition afterwards?

After he left office, I met Babangida several times. I can tell you that from my reading of him and from what he said, he very much regretted the June 12 annulment.

One day, he told me that he believed that time is a healer and that over time, people will forgive him and so on. Well, I don’t know whether he has been proven right or wrong but the same time that he said is a healer has really been a healer if you note that twenty-five years after, another government decided to atone for what happened twenty-five years earlier. I believe that on June 12, 2018 wherever he was, Babangida would have felt ashamed of himself that while he was there, he did the wrong thing and it took another leader twenty-five years after, to correct what was obviously a grave error of judgment, a grave error of history.

PoliticsDouble Edge: Urgent Open Letter To Peter Obi By Adesoji Omosebi by SojWORLDWIDE(op): 12:31am On Apr 04, 2023
THIS is a passionate letter from someone who is unknown to you but has worked for you and your organizations before you became the Governor of Anambra State.

You are a known successful businessman and the youngest Chairman of Fidelity Bank PLC under which I worked in 2003 as a Banker at the BBA Branch, Trade Fair in Lagos state, where your company, Next International was situated at the time. You were the sole importer of Ovaltine from South Africa and importer of other provisions.

That is not the purpose of this letter but your sojourn into politics since you became the governor of Anambra State.

You are one of my benefactors as the Chairman of one of the most successful banks in Nigeria.

Many people knew you were robbed of your victory in Anambra, this action forced you to seek justice that lasted three years before you got justice at the Supreme Court. Instead of you to spend the remaining one year left to complete the term, the court granted you your four years as enshrined in the constitution. You competed your four years, re-contested and won another four years, making it eight years. The rest is history!

In the course of preparation for 2023 elections, you joined the Labour Party (LP) when it was obvious that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would not field you as their Presidential Candidate.

It will be on record that you brought revolution into Nigerian political space with your presence in the Labour Party, within a year, your transformation brought LP from obscurity into limelight after 8 years with Segun Mimiko in Ondo State some years ago.

You made history by defeating the unbeatable President-Elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed TINUBU in his stronghold, Lagos for over 25 years. This, on its own, is a landmark, commendable achievement ever recorded in Nigeria within a year of your preparations. Your Party won many federal and lawmakers across-the-board.

You started getting it wrong with your resolve to capture Lagos at all costs leaving other states, that was the handwriting from the members of your party. Labour would have had, at least, between three to four state governors if the party had put same zeal they exhibited in the Presidential elections but your party put all your eggs in one basket, "winning Lagos is a task that must be done."

You party lost Lagos and all other states you should have won on a platter of gold except Abia State.

You came third when INEC announced the Presidential election results declaring Tinubu the President-Elect. You and your party said you were robbed of the presidency despite coming distant third. You headed for the court which was the last hope of the oppressed, the aggrieved and the common man for justice.

You are one of the beneficiaries of the Judiciary in your bid to seek justice in Anambra State.

You were initially loved by the youths across ethnic nationalities in Nigeria but when the utterances of your supporters succeeded in narrowing it down to ethnic agenda, other sympathetic youths retraced their steps. This was at the same time your case is still pending at the Election Petitions Tribunal, the actions and utterances of your members including your vice are prejudice to the case in the court.

The interview of Datti Baba-Ahmed with Channels TV is a case in point, the Presenter, Seun Okinbaloye tried all he could to dissuade him from making provocative statement but Datti whom I concluded is immature with his utterances and his comments in his Official Twitter Page said Tinubu whom INEC has declared as President-Elect cannot be sworn in. Datti's provocative statement caused the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) to sanction Channels TV Five Million Naira for breaking Broadcasting law.

As if this was not enough, one Ibe Okafor who claimed to be a diehard member of "Obidient" family took all Lagos bound passengers of Ibom Air into ransom for an hour by shouting "Tinubu cannot be sworn", until he was bundled out of the plane.

A traditional Chief was arrested in Lagos for threatening to import the Proscribed IPOB into Lagos, all these they did in your name to defend your cause, despite your pending case at the Tribunal.

Your comments on Facebook and Twitter published by SOJ WORLDWIDE ONLINE NEWS has never portrayed you as a troublemaker but your followers are already turning the heat on innocent Nigerians, vowing that you must become the President or Nigeria go into shreds. Is this the way to go?

Will you continue to watch until Nigeria collapse on you? Would it not be ideal to immediately and repeatedly call your followers to order that they should wait for the court judgement?

Let us go into the memory lane, Ken Saro-Wiwa did not commit murder nor did he kill anyone in Ogoniland, Rivers State but he and his colleagues were hanged by General Sani Abacha on November 10, 1995 for what his followers did in their absence.

Chief Obafemi Awolowo alleged that the Presidential elections in 1979 and 1983 were rigged, he went to court but could not win the battle until he died in 1987, his followers did not threaten anyone before, during and after the judgement as it is being done by your followers today.

In any election, the contestants must condition their minds to either win or lose.

The incumbent President, Muhammadu Buhari went to court on three occasions when he alleged he was rigged out, he lost the battle until he became the president on his fourth attempts. His supporters did not threaten to turn the country upsidedown.

Likewise, the PDP Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar or his supporters did not threaten anyone, this was after he had approached the Court on several occasions and lost.

What I was expecting from you is to strategize and move your train across the Niger for the next election in 2027 but since you have decided to approach the court, would it not be advisable to wait for the court judgement?

As at the time of writing this letter, the outlawed IPOB militants trooped out protesting saying, "It is either Obi or nothing." These protests are only coming from one section of the country, the Southeast, you know what that means.

Let it not be said that, "it was through Peter Obi, Nigeria disintegrate.". God forbid!

Remember, same people hailing you today did same thing to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu until they hailed him into the prison custody till date, they backed out and made you their Messiah. Don't you think same people will give you Kanu treatment when the chips are down?

You are once my benefactor, I cannot afford to see you in trouble because I have never seen anyone who has ever won any battle against the federal might.

Please, call your supporters to order now before this hanging time Bomb explodes.

PoliticsDSS Arrests Igbo Chief Who Threatens To Import IPOB Terrorists Into Lagos For Pr by SojWORLDWIDE(op): 3:34pm On Apr 01, 2023
COMBINED men of the Department of State Services (DSS) and Lagos State Police Command have arrested the Eze Igbo of Ajao Estate, Lagos, Fredrick Nwajagu, who vowed to invite members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to Lagos to secure properties of Igbo people in the state.

SOJ WORLDWIDE learnt that the Igbo leader was picked up on early Saturday in a joint operation by the DSS and the Police.

It was gathered that the team had traced Nwajagu to his palace, but he fled.

He was said to have been tracked to a hotel in Ejigbo where he was apprehended.

SOJ WORLDWIDE had reported how Nwajagu, in a 49-second video, shared on Twitter on Friday by @DeeOneAyekooto, threatened to invite IPOB members to Lagos, justifying the move in the wake of attacks on some Igbo people in the State.

The Igbo leader said he stood by his words, insisting that his people must have a stand in Lagos.

“IPOB, we will invite them. They have no job. All of the IPOB will protect all of our shops. And we have to pay them. We have to mobilise for that. We have to do that. We must have our own security so that they will stop attacking us in the midnight, in the morning, in the afternoon.

“When they discover that we have our own security, before they will come, they will know that we have our own men there. I am not saying a single word to be hidden. I am not hiding my words, let my words go viral. Igbo must get their right and get stand in Lagos State,” he had said in the video.

Replying to the post, the Police Public Relations Officer in the State, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said the Command would resist IPOB presence in the state.

“To start with, the ever-ready @LagosPoliceNG will never fold its arms and allow such within the State,” he wrote.

When our Correspondent contacted the PPRO to know whether Nwajagu had been invited by the police in respect of his remarks, he said, “we will give further update at the right time.”

There has been a frosty relationship between Igbo and Yoruba ethnic groups in the state in the buildup to the 2023 general elections.

The situation degenerated after the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, defeated his counterpart, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the State in the presidential poll.

Igbo voters in the State complained of being intimidated during the March 18 governorship election and that many of them were prevented from exercising their franchise.

PoliticsSecurity Men Bundled Man Out Of Plane For Shouting "Tinubu Cannot Be Sworn-in" by SojWORLDWIDE(op): 2:17pm On Apr 01, 2023
An unidentified man suspected to be a member of Proscribed IPOB disrupted Lagos bound IBOM AIR in Abuja on Friday with a shout inside the plane, "Tinubu cannot be Sworn-in.". At that point passengers begin to complain that he cannot go to Lagos with them.

Security personnel asked him to step out but refused, he was bundled out of the plane before the plane could take-off.

The man was heard shouting 'Obidient' on top of his voice while being smuggled out of the plane by close to six security men.

A man wrote in his Official Twitter Page,  "@cbngov_akin1

This just happened today (Friday, March 31, 2023). A passenger that @PeterObi collected his brain entered the plane going from Abuja to Lagos on Ibom Air this evening. He stood there in the middle of the plane and raised his voice saying.....you all are sitting here and Tinubu is about to be Sworn-in in as the President. PoliticsNBC Sanctions Channels TV N5m For Breaking Broadcasting Law In datti Baba-ahmed by SojWORLDWIDE(op): 1:29am On Apr 01, 2023
THE interview with Vice-Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the February 25, 2023 Presidential election, Datti Baba-Ahmed has compelled the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) to sanction Channels TV N5 million Naira for breaking broadcasting law.

This is contained in a letter addressed to the Chief Executive Officer of the television station and dated March 27. The letter was exclusively obtained by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Abuja.

The letter, with the title: “Broadcast of an Inciting Interview, A Sanction”, was signed by Balarabe Ilelah, the Commission’s Director-General.

It read in part:” The NBC monitored the broadcast of a live interview of the running mate of the Labour Party Vice presidential candidate, Dr Datti Baba-Ahmed, by the anchor of Politics Today, Seun Okibaloye, on Wednesday, March 22.

“Dr Baba-Ahmed said it will be unconstitutional to swear in an elected president on May 29, 2023, because of election irregularities,” Ilelah said in the letter.

He noted that the broadcast was volatile and capable of inciting public disorder and therefore violated some sections of the broadcasting code.

This, according to him, includes the section that said no broadcast shall encourage, or incite, be repugnant to public feelings or contain an offensive reference to any person or organisation, alive or dead or generally be disrespectful to human dignity.

Ilelah added that according to the broadcasting code, broadcasters shall ensure that no programme contained anything which amounted to subversion of constituted authority.

He recalled that the NBC had engaged Channels Television severally to consider public interest before any programme is broadcast.

This, he said, was to ensure that the country was not plunged into anarchy.

“Consequently, on the following infractions, Channels Television is hereby sanctioned and shall pay a penalty of N5,000,000 (five million naira) only in the first instance,” he said.

He added that any further infraction by the television station would attract higher sanctions.

“You are advised to pay within two weeks from the day of receipt of this letter or the penalty will be graduated,” the NBC Director-General said (NAN)

Foreign AffairsNine Confirmed Dead In Crash Of Two US Army Helicopters by SojWORLDWIDE(op): 3:16am On Mar 31, 2023
Two US Army helicopters crashed during a night time training mission in Kentucky, killing all nine soldiers on board, a general said Thursday.

The helicopters — variants of the Black Hawk designed for medical evacuation — were taking part in a routine training mission the night before when the crash occurred, Brigadier General John Lubas told a news conference.

It “resulted in the death of all nine service members aboard the aircraft,” all of them members of the 101st Airborne Division, which is based at Fort Campbell in Kentucky, he said.

Five soldiers were on one helicopter and four on another, Lubas said, noting that the military is still working to notify all the families of those killed.

The helicopters — which were flying in formation with the pilots using night vision goggles — were able to land in an open field across from a residential area, avoiding deaths or injuries on the ground, he said.

With an investigative team heading to Fort Campbell from the base where US Army Aviation is headquartered in Alabama, it was still unknown whether the two helicopters collided.

“We have a safety team coming… from Fort Rucker, Alabama who specialize in aircraft safety and specifically these investigations,” Lubas said.

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear mourned the lost soldiers and praised those who responded to the crash.

“We are blessed to live in the freest country in the history of planet Earth. But we must remember that that freedom relies on those who are willing to serve, some of which pay the ultimate price,” the governor told the news conference.

“We’re going to do what we always do. We’re going to wrap our arms around these families. We’re going to be there with them, not just for the days but the weeks and the months and the years to come,” Beshear said.

MSNBC quoted a local resident who witnessed the crash.

“Two helicopters just disappeared out of the sky. There was a large flash,” Nick Tomaszewski said, adding that another helicopter circled the area for about 30 minutes before ambulances arrived.

There have been multiple crashes of US military aircraft in recent years, including another involving a Black Hawk that killed two Tennessee National Guardsmen during a training flight Alabama in February.

Four US Marines were killed during NATO exercises in Norway last year when their V-22B Osprey aircraft went down, possibly after hitting a mountain, investigators said.

And two US Navy pilots were rescued after their T-45C Goshawk jet crashed during a training exercise in a residential neighborhood near Fort Worth, Texas in 2021. The pilots ejected before the plane went down.

The 101st Airborne Division is the US Army’s only air assault division. Nicknamed the “Screaming Eagles,” it was activated in August 1942 and gained renown during World War II in the D-Day landings and the Battle of the Bulge.

More recently the division has seen action in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Foreign AffairsFORMER President Trump In 30 Business Fraud Scandal, To Face Prosecution by SojWORLDWIDE(op): 3:05am On Mar 31, 2023
FORMER President Donald Trump of the United States would be the first American President to be arraigned for business fraud related offences, CNN reported.

Trump was indicted by NY grand jury
By Elise Hammond, Tori B. Powell and Amir Vera, CNN

What you need to know:

Former President Donald Trump faces more than 30 counts related to business fraud in an indictment from a Manhattan grand jury, according to two sources familiar with the case. It marks the first time in US history that a current or former president will face criminal charges.

Trump is expected to appear in court Tuesday for his arraignment, multiple sources tell CNN.

Trump released a defiant statement, calling it "Political Persecution and Election Interference at the highest level in history."

The Manhattan District Attorney's office has been investigating Trump in connection with his alleged role in a hush money payment scheme and cover-up involving adult film star Stormy Daniels during the 2016 Presidential campaign.

Former Vice President Mike Pence said that while "no one is above the law, including former presidents," that he cannot "speak to the merit of this case at all."

"I really do believe that this decision today is a great disservice to the country and the idea that for the first time in American history a former president would be indicted on a campaign finance issue to me, it just smacks of political prosecution, and I think the overwhelming majority of the American people will see it that way," Pence told CNN's Wolf Blitzer.

PoliticsINTERIM Govt Will NOT Happen In Nigeria Again, We Will Join Forces To Oppose It by SojWORLDWIDE(op): 12:29am On Mar 29, 2023
THE National Coordinator of South West Agenda for Asiwaju (SWAGA), Senator Dayo Adeyeye said calls for inauguration of interim government in the country were geared towards possible anarchy, and all stakeholders in the nation’s democratic journey must reject the suggestion.

Adeyeye said all lovers of democracy in the country will oppose constitution of any interim government ahead of the May 29 presidential inauguration.

The former senator and minister of state for works stated this in Abuja on Tuesday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

SWAGA was one of the foremost support groups which campaigned for the election of Sen. Bola Tinubu, the President-elect.

Adeyeye cautioned those calling for an interim government as a way of placating the grievances of certain politicians following the outcome of the February 25 Presidential Election.

He said that in every election there must be a winner and loser, and that Nigerian politicians must develop the spirit of sportsmanship in their electoral contests rather than threatening national peace and unity at every opportunity.

“I am not saying the elections are perfect, but from the point of view of INEC and point of view of any objective Nigerian, these elections are very good and transparent, making it the best ever to be conducted since 1999.

“I want to appeal to all Nigerians to disregard the noise making of these people who want to create anarchy and that Nigerians should begin to reason and desist from fake prophecies.

“I saw a video and I think this is what is propelling the so-called “Obidients”. A fake pastor was saying that yes, Tinubu will be declared winner but he would not be sworn in. And an interim government would be formed and the government will give it to Peter Obi.

“And I Dayo Adeyeye will be a citizen of this country and allow that to happen? It is not going to happen. We will join forces with others to oppose it.”

He further cautioned that those nursing such an ambition are capable of destroying the country and tear it apart.

“You want to destroy the country, you want to tear it apart and say bye bye to Nigeria? Some of us who are patriotic citizens of this country will not allow that to happen.

“Would I have voted my candidate and he emerged and he was declared and you will now say no, you are looking for an interim government? On what ground are you looking for that?

“What will be the legitimacy of that interim government? Who voted the interim government and who constitutes the interim government? On what mandate will the interim government be constituted and who and who will be members? These are the big questions to ask.

“Millions of Nigerians have exercised their civil rights and a winner has emerged. Well, you may not like the person. That’s the beauty of democracy.

‘I want to say that interim government will never happen again in this country. Some of us who fought for NADECO will not allow it. In the case of June 12, 1993, the results were not even declared.

“But in this case, the results have been declared, we have a President-elect. May 29 is around the corner and a new president would be sworn in.

“Anything short of that means you are asking for Nigeria to come to an end. Therefore, those calling for an interim government should go and bury the thought. It will never happen.

“Elections are over now and I have been waiting for the past four weeks for any of the opposition political parties to come out with their own version of results apart from what INEC uploaded, nobody has come up with anything other than shouting that they’ve been rigged.

“That’s the proof of rigging. Yes, you can say from our agents these are the numbers of votes given to us by our agents and these are the figures uploaded by INEC. We’ve not seen such claim by anyone yet.

“Instead, they’ve been spreading hatred, trying to create anarchy and cast aspersions on the integrity of the INEC.

“They have been creating impressions not only within the country but in the international community that the election was anything but free, fair and transparent, without any proof, without any evidence and any alternative results they can present anywhere,” he said.

Adeyeye further said that, ” now they have gone to court, good let them go and prove their cases in court. But for you to be demonstrating everyday and going to foreign embassies in Nigeria that your elections were rigged; I will never agree with that.”

He, therefore praised the INEC and in particular thanked its chairman Prof. Mahmood Yakubu for giving Nigerians an election which according to him, has further engendered the unity of the country.

“This is the type of election that brings unity to the country.

“A candidate from southwest was able to win in Jigawa, Zamfara and Sokoto. This is in spite of the fact that it was a Muslim) Muslim ticket. We buried religious and tribal sentiments.

” A candidate from southeast was able to win in Lagos and Plateau, while Atiku was able to win in Osun. I think this should be able to bring Nigerians closer and unify us rather than threatening our togetherness,” he said.

CrimeInside Life: Pastor Fingered My Private Part, Blood Was Flowing Out - Teenager T by SojWORLDWIDE(op): 9:03pm On Mar 28, 2023
A teenager has narrated how she was allegedly raped and deflowered by one Pope Paul, a youth pastor in the Deeper Life Bible Church in Lagos state.

The 19-year-old survivor appeared before the sexual offences and domestic violence court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, on Monday.

The survivor said the abuse started when she was 15 years old and living with the cleric.

Narrating her experience, the survivor told the court that she knew the cleric when she started residing with his wife identified as Sister Lydia.

According to her, she had visited the pastor’s wife during a holiday in 2016 and after she got back home to Ibadan, Sister Lydia invited her to start living with her after taking permission from her mother.

“I was enrolled in a private school as I resumed in SS1. I only go back to my parents during the holiday.”

The survivor said the cleric started the alleged sexual abuse by touching her breasts when nobody was around.

“On February 17, 2018, I noticed this lustful look on Pope Paul and he came to me; he started with a rough play and then bumped on me,” she said.
“He started touching me because there was nobody around.
“He moved on to touch my breasts and used his hand to cover my mouth while he inserted his fingers into my private part. As he fingered my private part, blood was flowing out.”

The survivor told the court that the cleric played a “Christian message” and increased the volume so that no one could hear her voice during the alleged rape incident.

She said the cleric warned her that she would die if she told anyone.

The survivor also narrated how the cleric came to her room one night, dragged her to the kitchen and had sexual intercourse with her.

She told the court that her mother observed her when she got home and subjected her to pregnancy test, which turned out positive.

“My mum called pastor and he said that he was sorry and had asked God for forgiveness and knew that God had forgiven him,” she said.
“My mum told him to inform his wife about the pregnancy but he refused and later denied that he impregnated me which prompted my mother to report the case to the police and he was arrested.”

Ramon Oshodi, the trial judge, adjourned the case to May 23 for continuation of trial.

PoliticsBOKO HARAM Bomb Maker Dies From The Bomb He Set To Kill Soldiers In Borno by SojWORLDWIDE(op): 8:56pm On Mar 28, 2023
BOKO HARAM Bomb Maker identified as Awana Gaidam, has reportedly died after “stepping on a self-made improvised explosive device” planted for Nigerian soldiers in Borno State.

According to Zagazola Makama, a publication focused on the Lake Chad region, Awana planted the IEDs in strategic positions of his camp within the Sambisa Forest for fortification against attacks from the troops.

An intelligence source told the publication that Awana was blown to pieces after his vehicle stepped on the IED along Njumia and Arra in Sambisa forest on Monday.

Awana was said to be responsible for many IED attacks along major highways in Borno state.

“Since 2022, Boko Haram and Islamic State of West Africa Province have carried out more than 90 indiscriminate attacks in the North East using Improvised Explosive Devices (IED),” the publication said.

“The insurgents resorted to the use of IEDs as a result of the increased and sustained pressure by the joint efforts of the Nigerian Army, Air Task Force, Operation Hadin Kai with support of the combined troops of the Multination Joint Task Force (MNJTF), Niger, Cameroon and Chad in the LakeChad sub-region.

“Therefore, the killing of Awana represents a serious blow to the operational capability of the Jamā’at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da’wah wa’l-Jihād, terrorists group.”

PoliticsSAD! Two Frustrated Nigerians Tear Their Nigerian Passports, Rejects Nigerian Ci by SojWORLDWIDE(op): 9:07pm On Mar 21, 2023
TWO Nigerians who are suspected to be diehard supporters of the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi in the just concluded Presidential election held on March 18, 2023 has described Nigeria as a failed State.

In a video shared by Reno Omokri available to SOJ WORLDWIDE, the duo torn the Nigerian International Passport into shreds to show their disgust to their fatherland and reject Nigerian citizenship.

"This is my Nigerian passport and it doesn't even matter whether I am Igbo,Yoruba or Hausa. The bottom line is I'm Nigerian and that come first.

Nigeria has failed us, we have hope for a better country, my wife is Yoruba and I never intended for Peter Obi to be the leader of Nigeria because he is Igbo.

But I wanted him to be the President because of what he has to offer, what he brings to the table for Nigerians and for that reason, because of what has transpired in this last election, from today, I refuse to be associated with anything regarding Nigeria.

This is my passport, Nigeria is a failed State. Nigeria is a failed nation, telling igbo's to go back to where they come from, are you people stupid? Are you all mad? Are you all crazy?

PoliticsSokoto: Fayose Celebrates Loss Of Tambuwal's Candidate With Champagne (watch V by SojWORLDWIDE(op): 12:06pm On Mar 20, 2023
FORMER Governor of Ekiti State, Peter Ayodele Fayose in a viral video available to SOJ WORLDWIDE was seen celebrating loss of Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu TAMBUWAL to rival All Progressives Congress (APC).

Fayose initially congratulated all elected candidates but had a reservation for Sokoto State where Tambuwal's candidate, Saidu Umar loss to his closest rival, Ahmed Aliyu in the just concluded March 18, 2023 Governorship election.

Mr Aliyu on the platform of APC won with 453,661 votes to defeat his closest rival Saidu Umar of the PDP who polled a total vote of 404,632.

Fayose with Champagne by his side was happy that the former House of Representatives Speaker's candidate lost woefully to the opposition. He said Tambuwal betrayed the President-Elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Nyesom Wike after he has used them for his political ambition.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, my name is Ayo Fayose, you know me and I know you, I am so excited tonight celebrating the victory of PDP and my friends in APC."

"All of you who has won the elections, congratulations!"

"But let me quickly say this, I am so excited by the loss of  Governor Tambuwal's candidate in Sokoto."

"You see when a man is treacherous, there is always a payback time.  He betrayed the party in 2015, he ran back. He betrayed the Asiwaju he went to meet in APC, he betrayed Wike that sponsored him in 2019.  This is payback time."

"I appreciate the people of Sokoto for voting against Tambuwal. I enjoin you again, vote against him in the Senatorial rerun."

"You are wonderful people. God rules in the affairs of men. Its time to pop champagne, Tambuwal is gone!"

PoliticsOyo: What Tinubu Told Teslim Folarin Before He Lost To Makinde (a Must Watch Vi by SojWORLDWIDE(op): 9:39am On Mar 20, 2023
THE President-Elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed TINUBU came to Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State to issue stern warnings to the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship candidate, Senator Teslim Folarin in the State.

Tinubu told Folarin at the campaign rally,.

"For Folarin to become the Governor of Oyo State, he has to go out and beg Party leaders because there is division within the party.

'Folarin you have to move from house to house to settle differences in the party using your lantern and touchlight because as many as you are here, you are not enough to make Folarin the governor. Go and reconcile with your people and pray very well."

Whether this instruction was heeded before the election only Folarin can answer but from the final result declared by INEC on Sunday, he lost by wide margin to the incumbent governor of the State, Engr. Seyi Makinde.
