I had initially ignored ur recurring question about the tiltles I posted for our blessed Lady because I was hoping u would go back and study them properly. I guess since u've done that and still have issues, the problem must need addressing. I'll repeat the list with explanations and I hope that though this is not the complete list of 6,000, u would be so kind as to apply the underlying theme to the list you have. Also, please note that my explanations are not exhaustive. I'll only open a thought process and pray that Holy Spirit enlightens you accordingly. U know, the Lord enlightens those he wills.

The many Titles of our blessed Mary:

Holy Mary - Mary is holy because God said so, because she is the only human being of the same flesh with Christ.
 
Holy Mother of God   - Mary has this title because she is the Mother of Christ, who has said he is one with God. By the way @ Pilgrim, do u also doubt the divinity of Jesus?
 
Holy Virgin of virgins   - Mary is first among virgins
 
Mother of Christ   - Mary is the Mother of Jesus Christ
 
Mother of divine grace   - Jesus is divine grace personified. His presence in the womb of Mary made her 'full of grace'
 
Mother most pure   - Jesus Christ, being of God, cannot endure or exist within the slightest impurity. As such, God made our blessed Mother free from ALL impurity and sin to enable her carry the divinity in her womb
 
Mother most chaste   - Jesus Christ, being of God, cannot endure or exist within the slightest lack of chastity. As such, God made our blessed Mother free from ALL impurity and sin to enable her carry the divinity in her womb
 
Mother inviolate   - Our blessed Mother is pure and untouched by sin
 
Mother undefiled   - Our blessed Mother is not defiled by sin
 
Mother most amiable   - Our blessed Mother is kind, pleasant, in all things good natured and appealing to good souls
 
Mother most admirable   - Our blessed Mother possesses qualities that have endeared her even to God, to extent that she was most favoured by the Most High
 
Mother of good counsel   - Jesus himself is good counsel. Beyond that, our blessed Mary guides her children with divine wisdom (I hope u also know that Jesus is THE Divine Wisdom)
 
Mother of our Creator   - our Lady bears thsi title because Jesus is of one substance with God. This is a title which, of all others, we should have thought it impossible for any creature to possess. At first sight we might be tempted to say that it throws into confusion our primary ideas of the Creator and the creature, the Eternal and the temporal, the Self-subsisting and the dependent; and yet on further consideration we shall see that we cannot refuse the title to Mary without denying the Divine Incarnation -- that is, the great and fundamental truth of revelation, that God became man.
 
Mother of our Savior   - our blessed Mary is the Mother of Jesus. Jesus is our Savior
 
Virgin most prudent   - Of all virgins, our blessed Virgin is most wise, ever careful and ever cautious. So full of divine discretion
 
Virgin most venerable - Of all virgins, our blessed Virgin is most esteemed by God, honoured by all who know her (emphasis on the word 'know' pls) . It is a great history, a great character, a maturity of virtue, goodness, experience, that excite our reverence, and these are the qualities of our blessed Lady.
 
Virgin most renowned   - Of all virgins, our blessed Virgin is most distinguished, she is celebrated by her Son, by all the angels and by all her children
 
Virgin most powerful   - Of all virgins, our blessed Virgin is most powerful because of her sole position as Daughter of the Father, Mother of the Son and Spouse of the Holy Spirit
 
Virgin most merciful   - Of all virgins, our blessed Virgin is most compassionate, gracious and forgiving.
 
Virgin most faithful   - Of all virgins, our blessed Virgin is most devoted. So much so that at Jesus' death, when even his closest apostles denied him, she escourted all the way up calvary, stood through his crucifixion at the foot of the cross, and even received his death body in her arms
 
Mirror of justice   - our blessed Mary is the Mirror of sanctity, holiness, supernatural goodness
 
Seat of wisdom   - our blessed Mary has this title because the Son of God, who is also called in Scripture the Word and Wisdom of God, once dwelt in her, and then, after His birth of her, was carried in her arms and seated in her lap in His first years. Thus, being as it were, the human throne of Him who reigns in heaven
 
Cause of our joy   - When Jesus was born, the Angels sang 'Joy to the World'. We have that Joy because our blessed Mary said 'YES'
 
Spiritual vessel   - our blessed Mary is the vessel through which Jesus came to us physically, and still comes to us spiritually. When we have recourse to her, she leads us only to Jesus
 
Vessel of honor   - elect souls are called vessels of honour: of honour, because they are elect or chosen; and vessels, because, through the love of God, they are filled with God's heavenly and holy grace. How much more then is Mary a vessel of honour by reason of her having within her, not only the grace of God, but the very Son of God, formed as regards His flesh and blood out of her!
 
Singular vessel of devotion   - Great was teh devotion of the Blessed Virginto our Lord because she was His Mother, and because she had Him and all His sufferings actually before her eyes, and because she had the long intimacy of thirty years with Him, and because she was from her special sanctity so ineffably near to Him in spirit. When, then, He was mocked, bruised, scourged, and nailed to the Cross, she felt as keenly as if every indignity and torture inflicted on Him was struck at herself. She could have cried out in agony at every pang of His.
 
Mystical rose   - our blessed Mary is the choice, delicate, perfect flower of God's spiritual creation.
 
Tower of David   - A Tower in its simplest idea is a fabric for defence against enemies. She is called the Tower of David because she had so signally fulfilled the office of defending her childrem from the assaults and snares of the enemy. (I hope there no questions about Mary being a descendant of the House of David).
 
Tower of ivory   - our blessed Lady is called the Tower of Ivory, to suggest to us, by the brightness, purity, and exquisiteness of that material, how transcendent is the loveliness and the gentleness of the Mother of God.
 
House of gold   - WHY is she called a House? And why is she called Golden? Mary is called golden; because her graces, her virtues, her innocence, her purity, are of that transcendent brilliancy and dazzling perfection, so costly, so exquisite, that the angels cannot, so to say, keep their eyes off her any more than we could help gazing upon any great work of gold.  She is the house and the palace of the Great King, of God Himself. Our Lord, the Co-equal Son of God, once dwelt in her. He was her Guest; nay, more than a guest, for a guest comes into a house as well as leaves it. But our Lord was actually born in this holy house. He took His flesh and His blood from this house, from the flesh, from the veins of Mary.
 
Ark of the Covenant   - The Ark of the Covenant in the Old Testament  contained the Law of the Old Covenant, while Our Lady conceived, carried in her womb for nine months, and gave birth to her Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, Who established in His Person the New Covenant. Just as the New Covenant surpasses the Old, so the new Ark of the Covenant (Our Lady) is superior to the old. The old Ark contained the word of God inscribed on stone tablets, but the new Ark contained the Incarnate Word of God.
 
Gate of Heaven   - MARY is called the Gate of Heaven because it was through her that our Lord passed from heaven to earth.  
 
Morning star  -  it is Mary's prerogative to be the Morning Star, which heralds in the sun. She does not shine for herself, or from herself, but she is the reflection of her and our Redeemer, and she glorifies Him. When she appears in the darkness, we know that He is close at hand. He is Alpha and Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.
 
Health of the sick -  our blessed Mary brings health to the souls that are spiritually sick, to her children who are physically infirm, all through her intercession with the divine son.
 
Refuge of sinners -  our blessed Mary shields her children from judgement by obtaining mercy for them from her son. why should we wonder at hearing that Mary, the only spotless child of Adam's seed, has a transcendent influence with the God of grace? is it strange that the Mother should have power with the Son?
 
Comforter of the afflicted  - This is the secret of true consolation: those are able to comfort others who in their own case have been much tried, and have felt the need of consolation, and have received it. And this is why the Blessed Virgin is the comforter of the afflicted. And she especially can console us because she suffered more than mothers in general.
 
Help of Christians   - our glorious Queen high, has been the minister of countless services to the elect people of God upon earth, and to His Holy Church.
 
Queen of angels   - This title is directly connected with the Maternity of Mary, that is, with the coming upon her of the Holy Ghost at Nazareth after the Angel Gabriel's annunciation to her, and with the consequent birth of our Lord at Bethlehem. She, as the Mother of our Lord, comes nearer to Him than any angel; nearer even than the Seraphim who surround Him, and cry continually, "Holy, Holy, Holy."
 
Queen of patriarchs   - Mary's nobility is clearly explained in Matthew (1,17), and Luke (3,23-38), in outlining the three groups of fourteen generations from Abraham to Christ, describes Her as born of fourteen patriarchs, of fourteen kings, of fourteen leaders, describing the nobility of Her origin beginning with Adam and Eve, and terminating this genealogy with Christ. The  Blessed Virgin is the noblest Woman in the whole world according to the flesh.
 
Queen of prophets   - the Prophets were highly honored by both Jews and Gentiles on account of their holy lives, their many sufferings , their great zeal for the Law of God, and their miracles and prophecies. But above them all in honor and suffering is our blessed Mary, whom Isaias called the "prophetess" and "Virgin" and Mother of the Divine Redeemer
 
Queen of apostles   - This title represents Mary's mission to give Jesus to the world. Mary's queenship is a title of service. God the Father has entrusted the noblest service to her: to give Jesus to the world. It is same mission of the apostles, only that it is Mary who does it to perfection
 
Queen of martyrs   - What an overwhelming horror it must have been for the Blessed Mary to witness the Passion and the Crucifixion of her Son! it must be recollected that the pains of the soul may be as fierce as those of the body. Bad men who are now in hell are suffering only in their souls, for their bodies are still in the dust; yet how severe is that suffering! She is, indeed, Queen of all  those who were slain for the Word of God, and for the testimony which they held.

 
Queen of confessors   - our blessed Mary is the Queen of Confessors, that is, the saints who in the various positions and states of life persevered in the confession of the faith and in the practice of virtue, and who proved themselves to be true and faithful followers of Jesus, not by the death of martyrdom, but by a holy life. She is their Queen because she fulfilled most perfectly the duties of religion, of herr state in life, and of the love of her neighbor, and made the most excellent profession of Jesus Christ.
 
Queen of virgins -  our blessed Mary is the Queen of Virgins because she was the first among all the daughters of Eve to make the Lord the solemn promise of perpetual chastity. Because by the splendor of her purity she far surpasses all the virgins that have ever lived or shall live in ages to come. Because she infuses love for chastity into the hearts of Christians.
 
Queen of all saints   - our blessed Mary is indeed, Queen of all who have suffered here on earth for Christ, and are now with him in Heaven. What an overwhelming horror it must have been for the Blessed Mary to witness the Passion and the Crucifixion of her Son! If our Lord Himself could not bear the prospect of what was before Him, and was covered in the thought of it with a bloody sweat, His soul thus acting upon His body, does not this show how great mental pain can be? Behold our blessed Mary as she stood under His Cross!
 
Queen conceived without Original Sin   - our blessed Mary from the first moment of her conception, possessed sanctifying grace, even the fullness of grace. If God Himself had announced from the beginning of the world that Mary was destined "to crush the head" of the infernal serpent, she could not have begun her life by being wounded herself by his poisonous bite and subject to his power. Jesus cannot endure sin in any form, and so could not have dwelt in a womb tainted by original sin.
 
Queen assumed into Heaven   - Mary was taken body and soul into heaven at the end of her life. Death and corruption are a result of original sin; but by her Immaculate Conception our blessed Mary is preserved from original sin and its effects. By her Assumption God honored her body that was always the temple in which He dwelt by grace. It was a gate through which the Son of God, the Divine Word, passed to earth and became Man. It was fitting that her holy and virginal body which gave flesh and blood to the God of all sanctity, the Victor over death, should never experience the corruption of the grave.
 
Queen of the most holy Rosary   - OUr Lady herself said " I am the Lady of the Rosary". Through it, we obtain blessings for soul and body, peace for the world, freedom for the Church, the conversion of sinners, and the salvation of our souls.
 
Queen of peace   - our blessed Mary bears this title because she gave us the Savior of the world, she brought Jesus, the King of Peace, into the world.  
 
Every second literally, of every day, for the last 2000 years, some one has been repeating the words of the Bible in some part of the world, "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus",

How fortunate, that I have the Mother of my Lord speak on my behalf at all times!!!

, Indeed, it is bewildering that some professing Christians who claim to believe the Bible never call Mary blessed nor honor her who bore and raised God the Son in His human flesh.

In catholicism, Jesus is not relegated to the background. We cannot focus too much on Mary because she points the way to Jesus. She does nothing of herself but does all for our Lord. Anything done through Mary goes directly to Jesus with the guarantee that there will be no delay or deviation.

Prayer:
O Lord Jesus Christ,
Our Mediator with the Father,
Who has been pleased to appoint your blessed Mother,
As our Mother,
And as our Mediatrix with you,
Mercifully grant that whoever comes to you seeking your favours,
May rejoice to receive all of them through her,

I know its hard for you to understand that Catholics read the Bible. Did it surprise you that the daily mass readings are lifted directly from the Bible? There's different set of readings for everyday, and no reading is repeated for three years, after which the entire cycle is repeated all over again. Imagine how much Bible the average catholic has covered in his/her lifetime!!!

You quoted the bit about 'staying close to Jesus in Prayer'. When our blessed Mother prays for us, and when we ask for her intercession, we ask her to bring us close to Jesus. Simply because our sinfulness and imperfection is so far away from his sinlessness and perfection.

If you want to approach Jesus full speed ahead in all you blazing glory, go ahead. What I dont understand is why you have a problem with those who are politely requesting Jesus' Mother to pray for them all the days of their lives. I can bet you that our blessed Mother prayed for Jesus all the 33 years he was alive on earth, from the day she was conceived of him, to the day he died in her arms. She prayed all the way.

If Jesus shared the same flesh with his blessed mother, why is it so hard to ascribe holiness to her? I leave you to it.

As for me, I will shout for joy that I live under the mantle of my blessed Mother. Hail, Holy Mary, proudly your children are calling on you. Your graces are unclaimed by another.

This morning I prayed that the day be good. When I was leaving my house, I asked my family to pray for me, that the day be good. When I got to work and was about to submit my appraisal forms, I asked my colleague with whom I share an office to pray for me, that my appraisal result in promotion. i just spoke to my mum, she asked if I was doing ok and I said "yes o, I hope you guys are praying for me" to which she laughed out loud and said "haba, at this age thats all I do for you people now". I'm sure befor the end of this day which the Lord has granted me, I will ask someone to pray for me, one way or the other, without thinking.

But none of these prayers said on my behalf will be equal to or even as powerful as the one my Blessed Mother says for me because I have recourse to her.Not only will I continue to sing her praises but I will tell of her glories everywhere I can. All Hail the Mother of my Redeemer, a Mother Most Loving, Most Chaste, so highly favoured by God.

My Dear Catholics, did you remember to go through todays readings? I will endevour to post the chapters for the readings everyday with accompanying reflection. For today:

First Reading
Ez 1:1-6

In the first year of Cyrus, king of Persia,
in order to fulfill the word of the LORD spoken by Jeremiah,
the LORD inspired King Cyrus of Persia
to issue this proclamation throughout his kingdom,
both by word of mouth and in writing:
“Thus says Cyrus, king of Persia:
‘All the kingdoms of the earth
the LORD, the God of heaven, has given to me,
and he has also charged me to build him a house in Jerusalem,
which is in Judah.
Therefore, whoever among you belongs to any part of his people,
let him go up, and may his God be with him!
Let everyone who has survived, in whatever place he may have dwelt,
be assisted by the people of that place
with silver, gold, goods, and cattle,
together with free-will offerings

Reflection
This story of Cyrus’ edict and the Jews’ response tells us that we must never give up hope—even if years pass and our prayers seem unanswered. By staying close to Jesus in prayer, we can keep cynicism and doubt at bay and become instead like those Jews who hoped against all hope and lived to see their dreams fulfilled. God will fulfill his promises, even if he uses unlikely people, unlikely events, or unlikely timing to do so.

Prayer
“Father, I cannot understand your ways. Still, I marvel at your wisdom and love. Help me to trust in you when my prayers seem unanswered. Guard me from despair and open my eyes to see you at work all around me, surrounding me with your love.”

Dear Catholics,

Do you remember the Sword of Sorrow Simeon prophesied would pierce the heart of our blessed Mother? Can u identify it?

Well, after Jesus had died on the cross and the soldiers came to break the legs of the crucified, one of them pierced his heart with a lance, finding him already dead.

Now Mary was at the foot of the cross while all this happened, and the sight of the lance piercing her dear Jesus broke her heart which was already tortured from having to witness the cruel death of her son. It is said that Mary thus bore the sorrow of that sword piercing her son's heart as Jesus was already dead then.

How courageous, that even in suffering, she escourted him all the way up calvary, even to the foot of the cross, never taking her eyes off her beloved!

Did you know that at the Scourging at the Pillar, Mary wiped his blood from the ground with her garments?

Most Mothers would have stayed home crying. Even more would have presuaded their child not to follow that path of dying for people who didnt care for even themselves.

But Mary not only supported her Son in his quest for our salvation, she assisted him all the way, never faltering!

She is truly the Mother of our Salvation, and I exclaim with  God as delivered by Angel Gabriel: Hail Mary,  full of grace, you have found favour with the Most High" and with the Holy Spirit "blessed are you among women"

Who dares contradict the Almighty?

12th Station
Jesus dies on the cross
My Jesus, you are dying, but your Sacred Heart still throbs with love for your sinful children

13th Station
Jesus is taken down from the cross
Receive me into thy arms, O blessed Mother Mary, and obtain for me pardon for my sins

14th Station
Jesus is placed in the sepulcher
When I receive thee into my heart in holy communion, O Jesus, make it a fit abiding place for your adorable body

We adore you o Christ and we bless you,
Because by your Holy Cross, you have redeemed the world

O Mary conceived without sin,
Pray for us who have recourse to thee

Try Love.

Dont waste your energy hating people for sins God has already forgiven.

Love your God above all things
Love your neighbour as u love yourself
Love your enemy, yes, as much as you love yourself

People are finding God every second and they are not reporting their progress to you. Take a look at your Report Card. Are you already the best you can be? Are you next to God in goodness and holiness? Are you sinless? No? Not yet? Then spend you energy perfecting yourself.

Think, is there anything good that has come your way today? Thank God for it. Burn your energy praising and thanking him. Dwell on your love for him this very moment with all your heart, then let him choose your next step. Follow this rule everyday and u'll find urself walking THE WAY!

I pray Jesus fills your heart with love, amen

Daughter of the Father

Spouse of the Spirit

Try this: Spend your energy on Love.

Love your God
Love your neighbour
Love your enemy

Pray for those who vex you

Forgive those who offend you not seventy times, but seventy times seventy, even when they have not asked forgiveness.

Dont waste your energy hating people for sins God has already forgiven. They may be making progress towards him while ure not! Instead by hating, you're aiding the devil. Love, then do what you will!

Do not generalise. Treat each person on their own merit. God loves each person as much as he loves you, no more, no less.  He doesn't need you to fight his battles. One word from him can wipe out all Catholics from the world.

You hate muslims too? 1.2 billion + 1 billion, thats 2.2 billion! Out of the worlds total population of 6 billion!! Hmmmmmmm! Please ask God to do with them as he pleases, though I'm sure he's already doing that without your permission.

Your passion about Christianity is appreciated, in fact we continue to pray for you all.

But please, could you be so polite as to create your own thread? The Catholic Faith is so vast and all encompassing, and there is so much to share with fellow Catholics, we dont need undue aggression.

We have the right to our faith, we have a right to peace, WE HAVE CHOSEN, LET GOD BE THE JUDGE.

If your choice of faith is so satisfying, then I'm sure there are lots of interesting issues you would like to share withyour kind. Create your own thread, we wont even go there. It will be all for you.

There is not much you can do about the 1.2 billion catholics in the world who have CHOSEN MARY AS THEIR MOTHER.

The ant will alwayls attack the leg of the elephant and claim to be making progress, meanwhile in reality, it is still on the leg of the elephant that the ant covers the so many miles he boasts of and which he could normally never have covered.

This is my favourite Prayer of Thanksgiving from the bible. It was first said by our blessed Mother after the declarations from God and the Holy Spirit through Angel Gabriel and Elizabeth. I say it whenever anything good happens to me: Luke 1:46-55

My soul doth magnify the Lord.
And my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour.
Because He hath regarded the humility of His handmaid:
For behold from henceforth ALL GENERATIONS SHALL CALL ME BLESSED.
For He that is mighty hath done great things to me, and holy is His name.

Its good to see u have so much energy, but do u realise just how much hate u have spread on this thread alone? Is that the matter u are composed of? You are attacking people for professing their love for Jesus and Mary, is it the worst sin in the world to love the Mother of my Redeemer? Is that the 'sin' that needs the most urgent attention? Love Since catholics have professed Jesus and Mary, why don't u leave Jesus to punish or reward them? Is it too much to wait till the day of salvation (day of judgement for some) for Jesus to clear everybody's doubt?

I'm sure u don't want my salvation more than I do. Just as I'm sure that u are not 100% sure that if u drop dead RIGHT NOW that u would go STRAIGHT to heaven. Since this is the case, why don't u direct all this energy and effort into ensuring that when u do, the road to heavn will be clear. Leave catholics to do their own thing. A vast majority of catholics honestly and sincerely seek God, whichever way they go about it, and I'm sure God will not abandon them.  - I can't say the same for haters - in all u do LOVE, THEN DO WHAT You WILL!!!

To all Catholics, I hope we can find a thread to discuss and focus on higher things, like how if Jesus dwelt in a womb for nine months, that womb will remain eternally sacred.

Like if Jesus obeyed all God's commandments to perfection, u can imagine how well he must honour his MOTHER

Like how fast u can access Jesus as a sinner, and even how much faster u can reach him with one word from his mother.

Anyone can go to Jesus directly, nobody says they shouldn't. But if I decide to ask his mother to help me put in a good word, where is the complication in that?? We do it as human beings everytime we need favours from people, we know when a mother speaks the son listens so whats the big deal??

When someone abuses our mother we blacklist them for life, but we feel we can insult the mother of or Redeemer and still go to him anyhow we like? I tell its his mother begging for mercy for such people, if not then for don see wahala.

To all Catholic Haters, just go on your knees and humbly ask God to show you the right path. Ask him in the deepest recesses of your heart what he desires of u, don't be afraid to listen to him. You'll find that there's whole world of Love he wants u to experience, and a whole sick world of people who don't even know Jesus that need saving, and u might just be the one he's waiting to hear 'Lord Send Me' from. Stop attacking Jesus people.

Even if people go to Jesus wrongly, Jesus is so powerful that the "JESUS" in their approach is enough to nullify all wrong. Jesus will rescue his own, the question is, are u among them?

There's HOT kunu, and there's COLD kunu. Hot kunu is more of a meal than a drink. very filling, and tastes absolutely delicious!! Its either called Kunu Gyada or Kunu Tsamiya.

HERE'S HOW -
The hot kunu is prepared with ground rice/ millet; groundnut paste (raw or roasted) and tamarind - also called tsamiya.

First, wash the tamarind and soak in hot water and keep aside.

Then to the main thing - Fresh hot water is poured over the g-nut paste in a pot and mixed into a milky consistency. Then u bring it to boil, and add the ground rice/millet. Take care to keep the mixing stick in motion so no koko forms!!

When the consistency thickens, leave to simmer so the grains are well done.

In the meantime, your tamarind should have turned the soaking water dark brown. carefully pour out the dark liquid and add to the simmering pot. mix thoroughly, add lots of sugar and e-n-j-o-y!!!!

You can eat this with hot crunchy akara or any other tasty side dish - BON APETIT!!

The procedure applies to everyone who needs renewal, initial passport, or whose pages have run out. MY DEAR, the reason I know is because my sister just concluded the freaking process. Mine too is pending, but am seriously considering postponing my trip till next couple of months!! Start earlier, best for u!!

The guys snap ur pic, (goodluck with that queue), then ure asked to come back,,,, and come back,,,,,, and come back again. When u eventually blow ur top for the upteenth time, u may catch a glimpse of an officer carrying a huge stack of new passports for sorting. The stack is not arranged according to date, serial number or alphabetical order. Its left to the discretion - and speed - of the processing peeps. U'll get ur passport - but many long days after u've cursed ur dear Country.

By the way, its about 40 degrees in Abuja now . Also, all those going for hajj are having their passports processed too.
