PoliticsRe: Jonathan Snubbed At Mandela's Memorial by solomon111(m): 10:00am On Dec 11, 2013
Botswana an import-dependent nation of less than 10million can never ever be compared in economic terms to africa's second largest economy with the far largest market and a growing industrial base.
The fact that Nigeria is not africa's largest economy is an aberration.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan Snubbed At Mandela's Memorial by solomon111(m): 9:55am On Dec 11, 2013
The Euro is bigger than the dollar, while the economy of america is far bigger than any european country.
The british pounds is the biggest in the world, while the british economy is inferior to the US,China, japan, india and brazil.

BluIvy: You are stoopid. Botswana ofcourse can never be compared to Nigeria we are far beyond your reach. Please check our Pula against Naira its hundred times more. Now you shut up.
Nonsense.
I'm sure your pula or whatever you call it is bigger than the japanese yen.
Would you mind telling me the GDP of botswana?
What does botswana export?
How many multinational companies do you have?
Do you even have a military?
If you think the value of a currency is necessarily the proof of economic strength, then you're a slowpoke.
Nigeria has a bigger currency than indonesia and even most asian countries, while indonesia has the bigger and more robust economy.

PoliticsRe: Babatunde Fashola And Donald Duke For President by solomon111(m): 9:37am On Dec 11, 2013
Donald duke, one of the best governors of all time.
A true visionary and in a different class from fashola and the rest of the mediocres we have now.
It's a shame that he may never clinch the presidency EVER.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan Best Thing To Happen To Northern Nigeria Since Gowon – Labaran Maku by solomon111(m): 8:51am On Dec 11, 2013
Adindu peter: look what hate and envy have done to your sense of judgment.. The fact is that you guys hate to see Gej perform!!!
You may not be far from the truth.
I've seen some witchcraft-like bad-belle on nairaland that made me shudder.
It seems this guys don't want GEJ to succeed.
It's almost as if they pray for bad things to happen to discredit GEJ's govt.
Sad,very sad.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan Best Thing To Happen To Northern Nigeria Since Gowon – Labaran Maku by solomon111(m): 8:42am On Dec 11, 2013
The only thing i hear from these APC syncophants on nairaland is "shut up" whenever facts are displayed in their faces.
I mean it shouldn't be too hard to disprove GEJ's achievements if it were false.
FamilyRe: I Hate Her And Even The Kids by solomon111(m): 8:28am On Dec 11, 2013
The number of destiny-wasting wives have increased astronomically.
Guys better be careful.
FamilyRe: I Hate Her And Even The Kids by solomon111(m): 12:07am On Dec 11, 2013
missojugo: Stop blaming your wife for your own foolish mistake. She didn't force you to come and join her there neither did she beg you to beat her up. She probably refused to come back home with you because you are a terrible wife beating hubby. So she should have allowed you to beat her to death abi? Who else did she have to call in no mans land apart from police. You should have gone to proper jail for 10 years for 'beating her up'. So now you hate your own children? You have serious issues. Better try and be in touch with your kids am sure they don't need your money, if you disown them you have God to answer to because they didn't beg you before you impregnate their mother. No make me vex come slap you sha!!
You must be a stark morøn if this nonsense you posted is what can come out of your dull head.
CelebritiesRe: Pictures Of Pres Obama Flirting With The Danish PM In South Africa by solomon111(m): 11:15pm On Dec 10, 2013
Is this what the american people sent him there to do?
Especially when it's on record that $500,000 is wasted for every minute he spends there.
Who cares anyway?
It's their problem.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan Snubbed At Mandela's Memorial by solomon111(m): 8:59pm On Dec 10, 2013
ocelot2006: I honestly dont understand the pettiness of some of you so-called Nigerians. YES we sacrificed a lot in their struggle against apartheid, no one can dispute that. But was our sacrifice more than those of the Namibians who were actually colonised by the racist SA regime or Zimbabwe (Rhodesia) who were attacked multiple times by same regime for harbouring ANC members?

And if I may ask, there were TENS of world leaders there. Did the world end when the others didnt give their tribute? And what will OBJ do if Nigeria wasnt listed to give one? Sieze the mike! You seem to forget that the actual show of one's strength is HUMILITY.
They expect GEJ to seize the mic and bragg how Nigeria helped SA.
Bullshitt.
The fact that this unnecessarily-inciting thread is on the FP is disappointing.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan Snubbed At Mandela's Memorial by solomon111(m): 8:54pm On Dec 10, 2013
Prof Corruption: Infact, if occasion permits just one country to make a tribute, Nigeria should be that country.
I don't think so.
There're some southafrican countries that contributed as much if not more than Nigeria and were not given the honour of giving speeches.
You people should stop this nonsense.
The inferiority complex on this thread is shameful.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan Snubbed At Mandela's Memorial by solomon111(m): 7:59pm On Dec 10, 2013
Horus: Botswana enjoy 24 hours of electric power per days. It is better to be a "a non-entity" with electricity to run businesses rather than be the Giant of Power Failiure of Africa
Of course,it shouldn't be too difficult to supply 24hrs electricity to less than 10million people.
I wonder what they've done with all their electricity,as they've better power supply than even india.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan Snubbed At Mandela's Memorial by solomon111(m): 7:16pm On Dec 10, 2013
BluIvy: Nigerians are known for their ignorance. Who did not? Sanctions is a UN call not Nigeria or Botswana. Stop! You ignorance is embarrasing Africa. After all you are receiving the most Aid in Africa. Do yo want the countries giving you aid to come to your door step to collect on their goodwill? What have your parents taught yu about giving. Really disgusted by this!
Shut up and get lost.
Your botswana country of not more than 10million is a non-entity.
Definitely can't be compared to Nigeria in status, diplomacy or economy now or in the future.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan Snubbed At Mandela's Memorial by solomon111(m): 7:12pm On Dec 10, 2013

Some of the posts here are just hilarious.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan Snubbed At Mandela's Memorial by solomon111(m): 4:57pm On Dec 10, 2013
Remii: South Africa has always shown lack of grattitude . Nigeria was a frontline country during the aphatied struggle to the extent that OBJ natioanali§ed British companies like BP to AP, Barclays Bank to Union bank etc, we even boycotted Moscow 1976 and deprived many our athletes chances of medals after preparation. OBJ lost support of powerful nations to get UN secretary seat all because of our anti aphathaied stand.
Yes,you're right.
I think it's more of a case of ingratitude than anything.
And why should i waste my time bothering about someone's ingratitude?
If the nations were given the honour based on their international status, then Russia and china would be on the list.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan Snubbed At Mandela's Memorial by solomon111(m): 4:45pm On Dec 10, 2013
Lilimax: Haba!, Namibia used to be South African baby? They were colonised by South Africa before they
obtained their independence.
It dosen't matter.
The southafricans have their reason for giving namibia the honour.
Ghana is even more essential both economically and politically in africa than namibia,so i don't think it's necessarily because of the status of the nation.
They probably felt namibia was a more important ally in their apartheid struggle.
You may not agree with them, but it's their prerogative.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan Snubbed At Mandela's Memorial by solomon111(m): 4:39pm On Dec 10, 2013

Nonsense.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan Snubbed At Mandela's Memorial by solomon111(m): 4:36pm On Dec 10, 2013
Nigerians can take things too far.
Nigeria is not the only nation that was not mentioned.
Many nations including russia wasn't mentioned.
The southafricans themselves have proven not to be very smart,so i expect Nigerians to cut them some slack.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Paid A Huge Price For What South Africa Has Become Today by solomon111(m): 1:33pm On Dec 10, 2013
This's probably the first time i will agree with fashole on anything.
Those southafricans are bloody ingrates.
I saw david cameron, and angela merkel on TV and i started laughing.
These are the same nations that haunted mandela to prison.
The US listed his name as a terrorist up till 2008 and they will all come to pay insincere respect.

http://www.opec.org/opec_web/static_files_project/media/downloads/50th_anniversary/Secretaries_General.pdf

umaru dikko, rilwanu lukman , Dr Edmund M.Daukoru etc have featured in the past as conference presidents, not alternates

there is no real achievement in being an alternate chair for a meeting

team gej, again

how soon before you celebrate the sun rising cheesy cheesy
And how does this belittle anything?
Yes,the job of the president of a UNION is to preside over the meeting of the Union.
That dosen't take away the fact that she was adjudged qualified and cerebral enough to be given the presidency of an important and major union like OPEC.
It shows that the best brains with international competitiveness and good leadership skills are in charge of Nigeria's economy.
And the fact that she's the first woman in the midst of shariah-states like saudi-arabia,qatar and co makes it more impressive.
ComputersRe: Nigerians In Diaspora To Produce Computers In Local Languages by solomon111(m): 1:15pm On Dec 10, 2013
Chartey: Am I the only one who sincerely thinks this is a white elephant? How many people in the "international market" speak these languages? If China or India does this, it's fine because they have at least a billion people each who understand Mandarin/Cantonese and Hindi. But how many people speak Yoruba and Igbo in the whole world? Hausa may be ok though.
They didn't say it would only be in indigenous languages.
They said it would recognize Nigerian languages,i.e English and other Nigerian languages.
Those who do not understand Nigerian languages will still be able to use it.
ComputersRe: Nigerians In Diaspora To Produce Computers In Local Languages by solomon111(m): 12:10pm On Dec 10, 2013
This's impressive.
This's what Nigeria need to start doing.
Leverage on the expertise of your diasporean population to drive industrialization and economic growth, just like india has done.
PoliticsRe: Diezani Allison-Madueke Elected As OPEC Alternate President by solomon111(m): 12:05pm On Dec 10, 2013
la furia: Will this translate to decrease in oil bunkering, oil subsidy thefts,? Nigerians have always gotten several awards but ends up on the wall of their office, it doesn't translate to Any meaningful progress.
Nigerians in govt hardly wins international awards, which is usually based on merit and achievement than the usual buying of awards in Nigeria.
This is probably the first administration to have outstanding and internationally-aclaimed individuals as part of its economic team.
And yes,her presidency would increase Nigeria's standing in the international community and divert much needed investment, expertise and exposure into the Nigerian oil&gas industry.
PoliticsRe: Diezani Allison-Madueke Elected As OPEC Alternate President by solomon111(m): 11:58am On Dec 10, 2013
What can i say?
People don't value what they've till they lose it.
I will be here on nairaland in years to come, when people would wish for a progressive, technocrat-driven govt like GEJ's,but by then GEJ will be resting in his village and laughing them all.

PoliticsRe: APC GOONS AND TINUBU ARE BUNCH OF LIARS by solomon111(m): 4:15pm On Dec 09, 2013
Desola: seriously? You are responding to one of the 40 laptops in a decent and civilised manner? Can an animal understand the language of humans?

These animals have come to the realisation that their attack method is waning and that the Yorubas are checkmating them so they are engaging reverse psychology now. You must be very careful of these snakes. This is their new strategy; to start appealing to our softer spot and sing our praises to high heavens. What jonathan and his handlers are doing now is damage control ahead of 2015 and it takes intelligent and discerning minds to see it.

You can't call us rascals yesterday and come around to praise us today. we see through the veil and come 2015, we will not only tear the veil but bury jonathan and his region in obscurity. He had better enjoy his power now while it lasts.

Moraforkers!
lol @ rascals.
An apt description.

voltron: Wrong approach.. look closely at Government support for policies, infrastructure and funding of local industries that contribute to the the nation's GDP.. sure they are privatized and profitable.. do you know how many SMEs in Nigeria are begging BOI (Bank of Industry) to release funds for viable agro-allied initiatives and how many have actually received funding?. I hate it when peeps just spout of statements without delving deeper.. it is in the same non-chalance our illiterate ministers form policies that will shame their alma-matter abroad
I heard maku say on TV that bank lending to farmers have increasdd from 1.5-4% this year due to a shock-absorbing fund created for the banks by the FG.
I don't know how true this is though.

This is one reason why we may never become self-sufficient,rich and industrialized.
The people fuccking hate themselves with a complete lack of self-belief.
If Nigerians were a majority in china 30years ago, they would've have to be eliminated for that country to become what it's now.
