PoliticsRe: Jonathan Declares Support For National Conference by solomon111(m): 12:08pm On Aug 30, 2013
Evil Brain: This Jonathan is a clown. He'll say anything if thinks it'll get him elected. Does he realize what such a conference means? It means we bypass the national assembly, possibly replace the constitution and get rid of his entire government. It could literally mean the break-up of Nigeria.

Meanwhile, there are so many things within his authority he can do solve Nigeria's ethnic divides and he has done none of them. Where is the law to ban the rampant discrimination on the basis of ethnicity and state of origin? Where is the law to allow people to become indegenes of a state when they've lived there for 5, 10, 20 years?

GEJ is an expert at making empty and impossible promises. But when it comes to real, practical change, he is completely useless.
Actually you are the clown here.
Nigeria's problem are very foundational and anything except SNC will be akin to "patching up", which we've been doing for decades without much success.
If SNC means Nigeria divides, then that would be better instead of us continuing the deception of "one Nigeria".
Nigeria is not One,has never been One,and may never be One until a SNC is convened where pressing issues affecting Nigeria's unity will be addressed.
How can Nigeria move forward when there are no true patriots loyal to the Nigerian state?.
Any president that can successfully convene a fruitful SNC has gotten to the roots of Nigeria's problems.
Btw,the 1999 constitution is redundant and unprogressively useless.
We need to abolish it,and create a new constitution that corresponds with current realities.

bishopjoe02: Americans wil definitely win d war, bt wth Russia and China involvement dat mean high cost and casualties on their part...
And for Nigeria, more money cos oil price wil increase, why GEJ wil win d nxt electn cos he wil nw have more money to steal and use 4 his campaign
There are nuclear materials in play here.
The winner of the war is currently uncertain and whoever it is will be totally devastated for generations possibly giving rise to the emergence of new world powers.

clip: . The cross of the matter is that they should not collect bribe. If they do not collect bribe from the smugglers God will always protect them in days like this.
what stupiddity are you spewing from your rotten mouth?
Do you know the kind of high caliber weapons smugglers carry?
So because some of them allegedly take bribe, they deserve to be massacred?
Why not take over from them and see how easy their job is.
You're an incorrigible person.

We may not even need to import again,if things go according to plan.
PoliticsRe: Lagos Ranked 4th World’s Worst City by solomon111(m): 6:23am On Aug 30, 2013
FreeGlobe: if you like call Abuja a glorified whatever its still a million times better than the world biggest slum called Lagos. I have stayed in both places and should know. Heck both calabar and Enugu are even more liveable cities than Lagos, people just go to Lagos to make money and with the ongoing decentralization efforts of Lagos via new international airports and seaports, Lagos may become a ghost slum village in the future like Ibadan.
True.
Akwa-ibom state is about to complete their deepest sea-port in w.africa coupled with the airports in Enugu, delta and co.
I expect lagos to be gradually de-centralized.
PoliticsRe: Lagos Ranked 4th World’s Worst City by solomon111(m): 6:18am On Aug 30, 2013
Well, a few countries on the list were represented by two or more cities - how come all the villages you listed up there ^^^^ didn't get a mention?

All those villages combined should never be mentioned in the same sentence as Lagos. People from there migrate to Lagos, not the other way round. You can overdose on haterade as much as you want, but you lot can never touch Lagos. Lagos is head and shoulders above all those villages - FACT! undecided

And hell yeah, my fore-fathers set the tone for what Lagos is today. (REAL)Lagosians have always been far ahead of everyone in Nigeria way before there was a Nigeria. We're talking about merchants who controlled the coast and monopolised trades here - savvy and ingenious people who put Lagos on the world map!
If you believe this nonsense you wrote up there, then sorry i can't help you.
You don't even sound knowledgable.
Maybe you should ask lagosians currently living in Nigeria to give you a full break-down of lagos in relation to other states,as i am definitely sure you've not been to Nigeria for a long time.
Give me one infrastructure or economic attraction in lagos that was built by your fore-fathers.
Yes, it might be the 4th worst city in the world, however, it's still the best and by far the only place worthy of city-status in Nigeria. The rest are glorified villages and towns and none of them made the list, including the sleepy and boring architectures having Abuja!

If you doubt my assertion, check the migration pattern in Nigeria to find out the only place where almost all Nigerians want to migrate to.

Anyway, that being said, how many cities in the world with the small land-mass as Lagos has over 20 million people inhabitants? - NONE. So Lagos isn't really doing bad, thanks to Fashola - the state just need to purge some of the "foreigners" living there and it'd be fine.

The land of my ancestors, Lagos, I'm really proud of you! cool

Signed by Imhotep, the greatest man that ever lived and the father of almost everything we call civilisation!
Lagos is not even in the top-ten livable cities in Nigeria.
And if you think states like cross-river,akwa-ibom,imo and enugu who are reputed for their serene environment and tourist attractions are slums or villages, then you must be high on cheap weed or sophisticated ignorance.
Btw,your fore-fathers did not make lagos the cosmopolitan city that it currently is.

FG money. Our money. Money that should have been spent creating jobs for law abiding citizens.

software man: When I saw this thread I honestly thought you were going to come up with something new. All you have dome is to rehash most of the nonsense and concocted lies you and your fellow PDP goons have being parroting on two similar thread on this forum.

You are not interested in discussion of issues and facts because a lot of that have being done on this topic.

In my view , what you come to this forum to do is propaganda to justify your pay to your paymasters.

NB: if you are interested in proper discussion of facts, there is a thread here you can join, but I am not going to dignify you or the shameless distortion of facts with any meaningful discussion of this topic.
Propaganda?
Most of what he wrote there are verifiable.
Why are you not bothered about the corruption in lagos state,or is it only when it comes to the FG that you get interested?

PoliticsRe: 2015: APC Will Sweep South-south – Ikimi by solomon111(m): 11:21am On Aug 29, 2013
Gbawe: This is the bottom line and this is what all right-thinking Nigerians should focus on leading up to 2015. Bottom line, for those not into self-deception, is that GEJ has worsened virtually every major problem of Nigeria to leave the Country stagnant. Some may not want to hear that let alone accept it, but it is the truth.
Gej Has worsened every problem of Nigeria?
Really?
Are you in Nigeria?
If not, then you have no reason to say things have worsened.
I am definitely sure you've family members in APC.

slimming: The next time you will hear about this money, don't be surprised it would have been stolen.
The NDLEA is probably the most effective drug enforcement agency in africa which even the US acknowledge.
Cut them some slack.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Gets $3m Security Assistance From US - CG by solomon111(m): 11:29am On Aug 28, 2013
The heading of the thread is somewhat misleading.
The $3million is "aid" given to the NDLEA,a drug law enforcement agency to curb illicit drug trafficing and not to fight BH.
Nigeria does not need $3million to fight Bokoharam, neither is it sufficient.
What Nigeria needs from the US is lethal military aid similar to the one Egypt enjoys.
PoliticsRe: Dangote To Construct Refinery And Petrochemical Complex In Ogun And Ondo by solomon111(m): 11:17am On Aug 28, 2013
Ufeolorun: It seems the death of Olokola FTZ has been greatly exaggerated grin, the politics of now and resource nationalism may not favour the location but if it's going house the first private Refinery in the country then the factor conditions are solid. The lesson here is, while the government is still very much powerful REAL corporate Nigeria is catching up fast and levelling up.We would begin to see business influencing politics rather than the usual, other way around so you would be required to make your business case because " na our oyel" isn't going to be adequate for long.
The Niger-delta already have refineries anyway,so what the FG should do is privatize it and it will run at full capacity again.
The Akwa-ibom state govt and the rivers state govt have already begun plans to build Petrochemical plants in each of their states and the FG have also released plans to built a $16billion petrochemical plant somewhere in the Niger-delta.
So whether in the short or long run,the Niger-delta which is the source of the raw material, will remain the hub for petrochemical and its allied industries in west africa.
Dangote cannot change that.
PoliticsRe: FG Will Soon Ban Fish Importation - Minister by solomon111(m): 10:44am On Aug 28, 2013
Babasquare: I can only help but laugh at this. Seems like the minister is taking the p***. This is just basic economics, demand and supply. Even with the continuous increase in fish farming/aquaculture, the local fish production just can't meet the nation's fish demandat the moment. Fish is a relative cheap source of animal protein. The population of the country is always on the increase and most of the citizens are resource poor. That's why the local demand for fish is very high. Lack of capital, over-exploitation, climate change, pollution are the major constraints in meeting the local fish demand. These are the problems that should be tackled aggressively and the churning out of "feel-good statements" like this.
Did you read the report at all? The Minister said the FG have taken steps to increase local fish production and will not implement the ban until the programme yield results.
