The greatest concentration of sycophants the world has ever seen is at Eagle square now. Speaking of real support. I think the evil genius(IBB) has more grip than GEJ on the people behind him(IBB) because it takes guts to support such a candidate well in time. GEJ should x-ray his camp if he truly wants to move ahead.

yes the niger state governor is there and most of the northern governors here are not canvassing for vote for jonathan but just saying that pdp is their ultimate interest, so the game is becoming clearer, if i were jonathan i wouldnt have forced the pro zoning governors to come, it is spoiling his show and its making the undecided governors really think they can oppose him and still stand out.
You have refused to acknowledge that diz Govs are never used to winning elections without Aso Rock supports. They have faught a hard battle for their political lifes which they know is presently in GEJ hands as far as picking PDP tickets is corncerned.

They all need GEJ as much as he needs them. He has compromised a good number of issues to them and be sure that hasnt happened without some sealed deals.

GEJ can be anything but a fool to allow a PDP outsider like IBB outsmart him in d ensueing games.

GEJ is picking the PDP ticket but u may just not like what u will see at the PDP conventions.

Forget Goodluck's look abeg! Na so im dey look wey make the 'cabal' dey underestimate him. Na dsame look make OBJ and Govs believe dey can choose the PDP top-dogs against GEJ choice. Na like diz im go dey look and stay in Aso rock for another 4 years.

@ KnowAll

Can someone please tell me what Jonathan can achieve in 4 years, that is too short a time to acheive any meaningful development, he needs the full 8 years to make an impact in the Nigeria polity, all these conjectures " I would be there for only 4 years"  is a ruse.

Hopefully by the time he is in the 3rd year of his supposedly one term d benefits of democracy would be felt in d land making it easy for him to run for another 4 years. Afterall he is entitled to a 2 term like every Presidents in a Presidential system, if  his Godfather in no other person other than OBJ wanted to truncate d demographic process by running for a 3rd term how much more someone seeking a legitimate and legal right of running which is guranteed in d constituion.
Bros cool down ooo. GEJ never win PDP ticket and the general elction finish oo b/4 u don dey talk 2nd and 3rd term oo.

Most of us are 'stoning' the Evil Genius because he never kept his words in d past and we shuld not encourage GEJ not to honour his words ooo.

Contrary to your assertions GEJ can achieve a lot in 4 years some Govs (like Fashola and Oshiomole) have shown us it is not impossible and moreover there is a consistutional clause that says a person shall not be sworn in into an office more than 2 times.

Our supports for GEJ shuld not just stop at making him win the election but keeping him on his toes thereafter to make sure he delivers. We shud not be afraid to tell him we need power supply, good roads, reduction in corruption levels and others within d 4 years.

Now that IBB victory at PDP primaries is looking very much the case, it is time for IBB to start planning for a VP he can govern with.

IBB and Soludo seems to agree on a lot of issues like economy, size of Government, capitalism, etc and it will be great to have IBB / Soludo ticket
Guy are u out of your mind. If IBB was sure of victory he would not be shouting fouls, zoning, EFCC, Step-down, Step-up, Step-through, blabla.

In fact his fates have been perfected on Wednessday both in Heavens and on Earth. We saw a one-legged IBB with skin cancer and daughter falling to calls of Vatsa, Dele Giwa, & MKO and on Earth we have sealed his fate on the same day at Wadata Plaza.

@ mikeastin

Coming together with a plan to find a concensus candidate is the easy bit. The difficulty is actually getting folks to step down for others.

I will take this drama seriously when Atiku, Saraki or Gusau come out publicly to say they are stepping down for IBB.

This is simply politics of who controls the momentum at play here. They simply want to cast doubts in the minds of politicians who will turn up for Jonathan's declaration tomorrow. Thats what this is all about. I will not be supprised if this committee achieves nothing but a statement agreeing that they will all be respectful to one another and stick to issues that will benefit their North and Nigeria.

IBB winning PDP primaries will really strengthen the hands of Labour Party though. Labour Party should simply start organising itself because I see PDP imploding.

I hope Jonathan fails at the Primary and then end up working behind the scenes to encourage the defeat of PDP at the General elections (thats my personal wish for Nigeria).
That is a very good observation. They are trying as much as possible to take the shine out tomorrow's declaration. This has gone to confirm these guys have not got games but zoning.

Finally u have divulged where your heart belongs and its good for u it has nothing to do with the Evil 1.

Its too late GEJ cant loose PDP primaries. Quote me anywhere even if he discovered he is not going to win d general election and he is earnestly planning a free/fair election he will simply INSTALL his norther choice.

These fools (IBB, Atiku, Gauso, and Saraki) were watching like dummies when GEJ started taking over d structure of d party starting with Ogbulafor sack to choosing Nwodo as chairman. GEJ practically controlls all PDP NEC members with about 90% of the BoT memebers rooting for him. These guys should have gotten more involved in the internal politics of the party instead of clinging to 'zoning' as d factor that will win the PDP ticket for them.

GEJ took over PDP structure brushing OBJ's and 28 governors' interests aside in a swipe. This is a seriuos warning to any1 still underestimating this queit but gallant 'soldier'.

The ends they say justify the means. Abacha's govt was the first to critically dig into Nigerian Banks rots and he single-handedly approved d fund for and completed LNG in Bonny Island which remains one of d most important money-making matchine for Nigeria to date. But a pocket of positive decisions like these dont remove the over-all assessment of leaders like Abacha (as even admitted by IBB) as being wicked, inept, and inapt for leadership positions.

So, in the light of above quote, where does IBB stand?
Go back to my response and u will see I was responding to a foolish list of established beauracratic agencies as achievements of IBB.

Abacha's case I have cited is just an analogy of leaders 'taking 2 steps forward and taking 1000x steps backward'. IBB created agencies to siphon Billions of Naira to offshore accounts. He instituted repressive economic programmes like SAP and that is still being counted as an achievement, he started a transition programme into civil rule first cancelled Yaradua's election and finally MKO's election that forced him out of power 1993.

Ask OBJ his achievements in 8 years and he will hand you a crazy list of rurbish that wil be 10x IBB's. I have just mentioned 2 of possible items on Abacha list of achievent. But on the overall have they impacted on the lifes of Nigerians?

IBB stands out among the past leaders with worst looting and killing records and to make his case worse he hasnt shown any democratic tendencies (just like OBJ) and will only come back to become a maximum ruler and like OBJ will surely want to die in Aso rock. And judging by his past he will simply remove all oppositions trying to stop him from dieing on the throne.

my point is people from Oil producing states live in Abuja and have no problem with liviing in Abuja, so why should Southerners have a problem when a northerners drills Oil in the Niger delta?
Let me correct your theory.

Abuja did not come from the skies. It was built by oil money and still being developed by oil money and people coming to Abuja are interested in the oil money being channelled to Abuja. Take Oil money out of Abuja and see how lucrative the Abuja real estate is.

@ orangmen

a reputable journalist in the name of dele giwa was assumed to be killed by ibb and in the same manner, we assume bola ige was killed by obj. mama vasa was a coupist and the military decree took care of poo under ibb while two communities faced the military might of obasanjo.
on the financial front, nigerians believe ibb stole $12b oil windfall and the same nigerians believe obasanjo made away with $16b electricity funds.

all in all, obasanjo had 8 yrs of uninterupted democracy which no other person have had.

in his 8 yrs of noisy war against corruption, obasanjo and ribadu never found this man guilty, could this mean obasanjo and his men lied on that or what?

if we want to practice democracy, we must be weary of what the constitution says on candidates qualities. if ibb and everyother candidate is allowed by our constitution, then let them run and give nigerians the chance to choose their candidates rather than imposing candidates on us and using efcc to go after opositions.

pdp is desperate to make nigeria a one party system otherwise oposition is a legal thing in every democratic setting.

pls do let me know those crimes of ibb that obasanjo is innocent of.
Who told u every1 that hates IBB naturally likes OBJ. They both represent heavy-looting generation, anti-humane tendencies and thirst for life presidency.

We cannot waste our energy on a sad past (OBJ) we have put behind us while we are being confronted with a fresh Evil-Supremo (IBB). GEJ within his short period as the President has taken a very good number of decisions against OBJ's stands showing he is a man of his own.

Other politicians including OBJ are largely evil of different degrees but IBB remains the upper-limit of Evil. He did not call himself the Evil-Genius for nothing.

It will take a Devil to break IBB's records in killing and looting!
PoliticsAcute Nerve Damage: Babangida Has One Leg Left, And Daughter Slumps At Declarati by Solomon227(op): 10:35am On Sep 17, 2010
IBB is falling down! falling down! falling down!

IBB is falling down! falling down! falling down!

IBB is falling down! falling down! falling down!

IBB is falling down! falling down! falling down!

Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, Nigeria’s former self-appointed president who wants to be popularly-elected president, yesterday in Abuja made a formal proclamation of his ambition.

But at the Eagle Square venue, observers noted he could only stand on one leg throughout his speech. Medical sources have confirmed to Saharareporters that his left leg may be cancerous and might need to be amputated in order to suppress the spread of cancerous cells and the pain associated with it.

It would be recalled that in early in 1987, nearly two years after assuming power, Babangida spent weeks in the American Hospital in Paris, France, obtaining treatment for a condition known as radiculopathy, a disease of the spinal nerve roots and spinal nerves. According to medicine.net, radiculopathy “is characterized by pain which seems to radiate from the spine to extend outward to cause symptoms away from the source of the spinal nerve root irritation.”

Babangida’s pain was said to be in one leg. it also affects the functioning of his left hand. Despite the surgery he had at that time, as well as treatment since then in some of the world’s best hospitals, the condition seems to have worsened, as Nigerians saw yesterday. Some of his aides also attest to the fact that the former general, who had to be forced of power in 1993 after annulling Nigeria's freest election in history, spends most of his time in a clinic in Abuja where he undergoes regular pain management, for a condition that has completely destroyed the nerves in the affected leg. One worry for his supporters is that they may face a Yar'Adua-like situation as the damaged leg might kill Babangida in a few years.

Several sources told Saharareporters that it is a well-known fact that Babangida, who turned 69 on August 27, is an invalid. Perhaps to make a point about his fragile health, the man regarded as one of Nigeria's most corrupt ex-dictator kept shouting that he only wants one term of four years in office. But that claim has been dismissed as one of his usual antics to fool some of the new recruits like former Senate president Ken Nnamani, who was seen in the company of IBB yesterday as he made his declaration amidst a coterie of discredited politicians and a rented crowd.

Also at the event yesterday, a tragedy almost befell the Babangida family as Aisha, his first daughter and wife of Zamfara State governor, slumped and nearly died as her father read his speech to the rented crowd.

It is not clear what ails Aisha, but sources told Saharareporters that she had been forced to the event by her husband. She fainted shortly after she arrived at the venue in a black SUV.

Last year, the matriarch of the Babangida family, Miriam, also made a public appearance at the wedding of Governor Isah Yuguda to Yar'Adua's daughter, but the Babangida family hid from the public the fact that she had reached the terminal stage of ovarian cancer until Saharareporters broke the story of her hospitalization in Los Angeles.
Even then, the Babangida family vigorously denied our story, particularly using the Lagos-based Vanguard newspaper, which claimed they spoke to Miriam and that she was coming home by Christmas of 2009. Myriam died in Los Angeles a day after Christmas in 2009, but Vanguard did not apologize to Nigerians.

A roll call of so-called "prominent Nigerians" who were rented to appear at Babangida declaration yesterday:

*Governor Aliyu Shinkafi, Zamfara State: Mr. Shinkafi is married to Aisha, Babangida's daughter. It is Aisha's second marriage

and regarding the Dokpesi, the fact that he is a Niger deltan and supporting a northerner is a political issue and peculiar to our famous politicians.
Infact, AIT should not be involved in any harm against Dokpesi, cos even on NTA IBB's campaign was advertised
so IBB is not rejected even by the people of high influence.
let's see

I will suggest that GEJ supporters concentrate on telling us what exactly their principal intend to do with the 4yrs he is asking for. But unfortunately, they have committed all their energy to telling us how bad IBB is. GEJ may be good but if actions like declaring for the presidency of 150million people on facebook is what we will expect from his presidency, then he may have strategy issues.

Obama said "If you don't have a record to run on, then you paint your opponent as someone people should run from".

This is what GEJ camp is doing with IBB candidature thereby making IBB more popular.
We are making him popular indeed but for all d wrongest reasons in this world. How do u define popularity?

Is it the one that make all the Governor stay away from your formal presidential declaration?

Or is it the one that make any1 that identify with u be tagged a persona non grata by his people?

Or is it the kind that will not allow u to campaign freely in some places because of your evil past?

Guy we shall continue making IBB popular painting him in his favorite colours "black red black" representing darkness, blood, sorrow, and doom.

Actually i personally found this so ridiculous. We Nigerians like to be follow- follow without thinking and Developing our own concepts.
We all knows Obama used facebook to pass his message across to millions of America, but he did not declare his ambition first on facebook, even if he declared online it makes sense as almost all American homes have assess to computer. My question remains, is GEJ afraid of Mic? Is he afraid to approach the Nigerian media? Is he still battling with stage freight that he can not openly address Nigerians on his ambition. It is very humiliating declaring first his ambition to a foreign social network which i doubt how many Nigerians are users.

Obama used Facebook and online as part his campaign becoz more than 80% of Americans have access to internet. Even at that this guy never underestimated the power of the media, he was always on the media until he suddenly became a world Celebrity. Please can someone tell Jonathan that this online thing can never work in Nigeria if ever he want to give us a free and fair election. Unless he planed to rig himself in as the president. If ever he want to win in a free and fair election he need to pass the massage across to those grand ma, grand dad in the villages, market men and women, Okadas, and student who does not even know what Computer looks like, but are the once to stand on the long queue, under the sun to make the decision. Not these Nigerians abroad who hide behind their computers to throw their internet support.
Very funny you find the action ridiculous yet u are on a social network airing your views. FYI Nigeria has d highest internet traffic in Africa and any serious politician will not underscore the relevance of social networks/internet in reaching a particular set of population that eat, sleep and work on internet.

He has also been using SMS and these methods are simply geared towards reaching as many Nigerians as possible b/4 Saturday. He has shrewdly been gathering momentum for his former declaration on Saturday, preparing his fans minds for what they have all been longing for.

The Noble1

There are categories of people I expect to support IBB and if somebody ever told me Ken will stoop so low, I wont believe it.
Surely, he is free to support whomever, and I did not release any venom against him. I am only concerned of what has happened to him and what will happen to him hereafter. The IBB boat will surely sink and the passengers like Ken will not be spared.

Let no one be deceived, Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida will never rule Nigeria again!
I feel u die. Ken is one man I have held in high esteems especially after his roles in aborting OBJ's 3rd term.

U shuld take a look at d list of politicians at IBB launch. They all have something in common political redundancy since d last time they held office and u cant really blame them because they are currently not privy to PDP power house and need to remain active (somehow) politically.

I am also concerned about what IBB can do with d kind of well-revered Nidigbo like Ken. But like they always say a man is some1 who can face the consequences of his actions or inactions.
