PoliticsRe: Ibadan: One Of Five African Cities To Watch - Financial Times by solomonkane(m): 4:00pm On Dec 16, 2012
londoner: Is Ibadan not in Nigeria?

If there is good news from there, it is good for Nigeria....no?

Also Nigeria does not begin and end with one region, state or tribe.

It is only when all corners are doing well that Nigeria can be said to be doing well.

There last time I checked.......statistics that take the whole country into account, are not looking so good that people should have time to engage in this type of argument.

I have to say this.....it is usually the Nigerian men and their d.!ck measuring that causes this on NL.

And they say it is we women that engage in cat fights....lol
LMAO!!! That is a lie my dear and you know it, so many of these useless bigots are also women, take your time going through the thread (and similar ones) and see them for yourself. You know that in reality; most of them are failures who have never achieved any meaningful thing in their lives (apart from access to free internet).
PoliticsRe: Ibadan: One Of Five African Cities To Watch - Financial Times by solomonkane(m): 3:56pm On Dec 16, 2012
Have to say the comments on this thread and similar threads are beyond imbecilic and show how idiotic the posters are. You accursed Igbo & Yoruba bigots really need to get lives; your mates are out there doing big things with their lives, you are spending yours trolling about whose slum is bigger and whose poo smells more like the bastards that you are. That Ibadan has enormous potentials is an indisputable fact, deal with it.
IslamRe: Are Islamic Religious Leaders Failing Islam? by solomonkane(m): 3:23pm On Dec 16, 2012
jerseyboy: All these confusion is pointing at the suspect nature of the foundation of this cult known as Islam begining with its founder.
Were you given birth to by an animal? This thread is supposed to be an educative one but escaped mental patients like you who have nothing going for them in their lives must always come to troll. If your life has no value, why not donate yourself to be used as a test subject in the search for a cure to cancer or HIV/AIDS?
PoliticsRe: Jonathan Will Lose 2015 Election — Asari Dokubo by solomonkane(m): 12:09pm On Dec 15, 2012
Sincere 9gerian: The OBJ of today is USELESS in terms of election. OBJ cannot even influence the outcome of PDP primary in his state(this explains why PDP is factionalised in Ogun). As for the general elections, OBJ is also USELESS as was seen in the outcome of 2011 election when he lost his polling boot. In the whole of southwest, OBJ is an ORPHAN. He was recently lambasted by chief Bode George. Therefore, if GEJ will lose any election, it can NEVER be because of his disagreement with OBJ.
GEJ doesn't even need to do much to win elections. All that is needed is for him to maintain the pace he's currently going. By the time the PHCN is completely taken over by new owners in early 2013, with the expected boom in the power sector combined with harvest of other projects here and there, even the harshest critic of the govt will FALL IN LINE, flee on EXILE or risk being lynched by the masses. I only hope he constructs the 2nd Niger bridge as promised, otherwise I will stop posting comments in support of him.
So far every indication points to GEJ contesting in 2015. Therefore, those who cannot stomach that can begin now to prepare for EXILE

Demdem: the Thief Alams is still the best governor so far in bayelsa. His people still worship him. the retardeen was a disaster when he was a governor.
Demdem I will have to disagree with you there, his popularity is as a result of his being perceived as someone who brought development to his community; Amassoma by giving them NDU same as Ibori is popular in Oghara due to the link bridge he built and his sharing of money. Achievement wise, Alams was a big failure and the one who started the rot in Bayelsa under the current democratic dispensation.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan Continues To Impress!! by solomonkane(m): 8:47pm On Dec 14, 2012
Godogwu: True. On the other hand, there is no perfect president or ruler; even Obama has a lot of haters. Thesame things applies to GEJ, just because people like you aren't seeing progress in their personal lives doesn't mean everyone's the same. People are progressing, the middle class is growing, the private sector is blossoming, the educational and health structure are also growing.....Nigeria is progressing. smiley
So everyone who criticizes GEJ is either frustrated or poor? Wow!!!!!!! shocked shocked shocked
SportsRe: FIFA Refuses To Back Messi Or Chitalu For Goal Record by solomonkane(m): 8:45pm On Dec 14, 2012
toluxa1: You brought this out from inside me and posted it! Are you a thief? grin
No na grin grin grin. It became necessary because some fluffy brained individuals would have ascribed whatever logical conclusions FIFA would have come to as racist like this one for example:

Rastamann: But the Zambian Football Association claimed Godfrey Chitalu had scored 107 goals for club and country in 1972.
Play media

The world governing body said that, given it only maintains statistics for the international competitions it runs, it is not possibly to ratify records from club football around the world.

"We don't have a database which details every football game played in every country from around the world since day one of their formation," Stone said.

Because Zambia is Africa and African are black people so FIFA is telling us that they don't run and maintain statistics for club and country competitions in Zambia and Africa.

Also, they only have a data based for football games played in Europe and America and not in Africa.

Haba FEVER FIFA!

PoliticsRe: Ibadan: One Of Five African Cities To Watch - Financial Times by solomonkane(m): 8:30pm On Dec 14, 2012
I am reading the comments on here and I am amazed but not surprised by the level of idiocy being displayed which seems to have ethnic undertones. Ibadan like every other part of Nigeria has been affected by poor leadership but to say it has no potential or judge it by the zinc roofs is beyond idiotic. Bar Lagos, it has a large number of industries that only Kaduna, Kano and Onitsha can match. Here are some reasons why I think the Financial Times may be spot on:

1. Large land mass which at the moment is underutilized.
2. Established agrarian culture with its attendant attractiveness to agro allied industries.
3. Centralized location between the South West & the North like Onitsha is between the Niger Delta and the South East.
4. Proximity to Lagos; When rail services between Lagos and Ibadan become operative, commuting will become less stressful leading to massive developments in industrial and residential infrastructure as a result of large migration of people from overcrowded tiny Lagos to Ibadan.

Afam, this is about ACN and PDP, remove Rochas.
SportsRe: FIFA Refuses To Back Messi Or Chitalu For Goal Record by solomonkane(m): 8:10pm On Dec 14, 2012
Smart decision by FIFA. An attempt either way would have been misconstrued and given all sorts of connotations. Shame on the disgraceful people in the Zambian F.A who had to wait until Messi's achievements became celebrated before remembering Chitalu, they should bow their heads in shame.
PoliticsRe: Who Do You Trust More: ACN Or PDP by solomonkane(m): 8:04pm On Dec 14, 2012
Actually none, they both seem to be useless children of the same accursed parents. A.C.N is yet to shed the toga of a regional party with an omnipotent godfather, has corrupt tendencies and is yet to offer an alternative platform at national level. P.D.P is an irredeemable brood of vipers whose mantra of "share the money" has attracted like minds from all ethnic groups and regions; it is probably the best symbol of what Nigeria actually is.

I think it will be better to compare states that have been ruled by both and use that as some sort of barometer. These are states I have either lived in or visited for extended periods:

EDO: Under P.D.P i.e. Igbinedion/Osunbor = bowel of hell. Under A.C.N i.e. Oshiomhole = impressive.

OGUN: Under P.D.P i.e OGD = Decaying cadaver. Under A.C.N i.e. Amosun = Marginal improvement. Marginal success under Osoba (A.D/A.C.N)

OYO: Under P.D.P i.e Ladoja/Akala = Hades in 3D. Under A.C.N i.e. Ajimobi = Same as before. Was just as bad under the late Lam Adesina (A.D).

OSUN: Can't give a clear assessment as I haven't been there since A.C.N (Aregbesola) took over but under P.D.P (Oyinlola) it was a dead state. Was okay under Akande (A.D/A.C.N)

LAGOS: Under A.C.N i.e. Tinubu was average but laid the foundation for Fashola who has been a resounding success.

AKWA IBOM:
Same as Lagos where an average Attah also laid the foundation for the resounding success of Akpabio.

DELTA:
Under P.D.P i.e. Ibori and Uduaghan has been a tale of glorified failures, failures and more failures.

BAYELSA: Three successive P.D.P governors i.e. Alams, GEJ, Sylva were all disastrous. Haven't been to Bayelsa in a while so can't make informed comments about Dickson.

PoliticsRe: Jonathan Continues To Impress!! by solomonkane(m): 12:34pm On Dec 14, 2012
Sincere 9gerian: The projects highlighted there are REAL, supported with images, testimony of locals and media reports.
Again, I said 2hrs power supply is around the corner and that where I reside, some days we are supplied with power for 24hrs non-stop but on the average we have 20hrs daily supply. I think privatisation of PHCN is the ONLY road to stable power supply in Nig., and fortunately that is the road the govt is following. If you have alternative solution, let us know.
I have no problem with privatization, if it gets me 24 hours power. Asking me to provide an alternative solution is silly as I have not said privatization is wrong. To say GEJ has done nothing will be unfair but to say he's breaking new ground will be akin to asking the truth to stand on its head and making it walk on its teeth. These facilities which are being remodeled were built by someone who also highlighted them as achievements case in point MMA2 was built under Obasanjo while IBB built the 3rd Mainland Bridge. Your assertions that only ACN/CPC people criticize GEJ is also very derogatory, you are no different from those who accuse everyone who sees the good in GEJ as being bootlickers or members of the 40 man laptop crew.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan Continues To Impress!! by solomonkane(m): 11:54am On Dec 14, 2012
@Sincere 9jerian:

Kudos to GEJ for some of the things you have highlighted (whether they are in present, future or illusionary tense though is a matter for another day) but why in God's name are you still peddling the 24 hours falsehood; I have been running generators non-stop at home and at the office for almost two months now so where on earth is the 24 hours light? Tell me so I can relocate my business to that place.
PoliticsRe: I'll Perform Better In 2013 - Jonathan by solomonkane(m): 10:27am On Dec 14, 2012
Sincere 9gerian: While HATERS are HATING, Jonathan continues to DELIVER and IMPRESS:

POINT 8: Progress is also being made in the petroluem sector. The PIB, a comprehensive law tooverhaul and reform Nigeria's oil and gas sector, is already with the NASS. The committee charged to release a white paper on the road map to revitalizing existing refineries is currently at work. The nations moribund pipelines and fuel depots are being rehabilitated and RESTORED nationwide. For instance the Aba NNPC depot has been RESTORED (after 10 solid years of being shut down) and currently ensuring steady supply of petroluem products tothe south-eastern states. The Jos NNPC deport has also been RESTORED. Other deport RESTORED include Minna, Kano and Gusau. Work is ongoing to restore the Enugu deport and then Benue deport. The opening up of these depots explains why there isn't much difference in prices of petrol between Lagos and these areas even in this period of scarcity. The subsidy payment system is being cleaned up as much as possible and the shock of the clean-up is causing fuel scarcity in some cities. Hopefully, when the system is totally cleaned-up, the scarcity will disappear. Ultimately, the govt intends to de-regulate the sector.

They call you worst Gov becos you don't allow dem to loot or cos you donr give them millions. Ride on sir, we Deltans are solidly behind you.
And another useless rat crawls out of the sewer to join Ogusbaba in a public display of extravagant stupidity. The two of you should have been thrown into the evil forest, it would have reduced the number of buffoons in Nigeria.

Billyonaire: If NL is called one of the best start up Techsn then am ashamed. The mods are intolerant, the NLanders are so pessimistic and the site has no mobile app. Owners of this site needs to drive away kids and attrack better social commentators. An average NLander has 2. Handles so just gues the real members in a world of 7b people.
How does the pessimism of the NLers affect the site's growth potential? Visit Yahoo and see pessimism in 3D or even Twitter, then come back and talk.
What do you mean by better social commentators?
If you have come up with an ingenious method of conducting e-MRIs to determine the age of a poster, please do fill us in..

I agree with the mobile application thing though, it is long overdue and the MODs could also be better.

NYSCRe: Corpers Cause Mass Failure In Schools - Teachers Council by solomonkane(m): 10:16am On Dec 12, 2012
The quality of corp members we have is a reflection of the education system in Nigeria; badly educated, blissfully ignorant, half baked dunderheads and guess who taught them; teachers did. This assertion by the Teachers Council is a classic example of the baboon calling the gorilla ugly. If the teachers weren't so abysmal, there would be a reduced need for corpers. I taught in a school during my service year and I can say without fear of contradiction that a large percentage of teachers nationwide are just as useless as the corp members.

Would you as an individual leave your job in an oil company to work as a petrol attendant? I'm sure if messi leaves barcelona/wins the world cup, you'll still find something to discredit him.
