Chuck D: All These people be acting all sanctimonious... make una comot for here if the thing dey vex una nau...
Let me make his categorically clear: "MyOgaAtTheTop" IS NO LONGER ABOUT THE NSCDC MAN. That phrase represents a concept - A name has been given to a disease in our society with symptoms like:
1. Eye service - wanting to please a superior whether he's doing things right or wrong. No one wants to discharge their duties properly these days and all we do is wanting to please the one on top - 'professionalism you'd call that' - Thanks
2. High-handedness - it is obvious that the effects of the military regime still continues to guide the way we do things - especially our older generation. Enough of the overconfidence with always wanting to subdue others by force. Live and let live
3. Silly pride - How can we move on as a people if we just cannot admit out shortcomings sometimes ...eh?
4. Lies and Cover ups - Many Nigerians today have no access to good education, good health care, potable water etc, why? Because Public officers loot and the rest of us "PARDON or COVER UP" for them and on the long run, we all suffer because the country doesn't progress. How long will you people continue to stay quiet over such?
I know some of you out there may have other points to add but whether you agree or disagree with me on this issue, the fact remains that for a change to take place, there is usually and event that draws everyone's attention to the problem at once.
For those calling for an end to this MyOgaAtTheTop matter, please channel your energies to something more worthwhile to move the country forward and ENOUGH PARDONING.
That's all.

GBAM!!!!! You deserve a medal for capturing my exact thoughts.

Ola Johnson: The worse of it the youths who constitute the majority of people making jest of this man have never once watched the programme, Sunrise Daily, where this started. They don't breakfast programmes like Kakaaki (AIT), Today on STV, etc. They could perhaps make more mistake than this man. We all know how today's youths are academically. If you don't, interview or ask corps members in orientation camps to fill forms.
And another extravagantly gifted cretin crawls out of the sewer. You are abusing Nigerian youths yet your post is riddled with misspellings & idiotic comments. Physician heal thyself.

Back to the topic: Mr Shem deserves all the stick he has gotten and more, if it affects his family, then too bad. A simple admission of ignorance would have sufficed, he went instead for bluster, sycophancy and deceit.

@OP: This has got to the biggest piece of gutter trash I have ever had the misfortune of reading (and I served in a public secondary school); a tale of fury, told by an idiot, signifying nothing (apologies to Shakespeare). Wrong spellings, horrible sentence formation, nonsensical opinions e.t.c. If your write up is indicative of your thought processes and command of the English language, I cringe in horror trying to imagine what you would have said if you had been in the man's shoes. Please get yourself copies of Brighter Grammar and learn how to articulate your thoughts properly.

A cultist who sang latrine music, engaged in advanced fee fraud a.k.a 419 has been paid his just wages and you people are crying? How disgusting!!!. The unfortunate thing about the death is that his partners in stupidity will be out gunning for revenge and innocent lives will be lost. The V/C, the police and by extension BRF should use this as an opportunity to rid that school of all the useless cretins who call themselves cultists in the same way OAU did theirs after the killings of the SUG leaders in the late 90s.
PoliticsRe: A 1967 “Welcome To Nigeria” Billboard by solomonkane(m): 3:05pm On Feb 14, 2013
@OP; It is a beautiful picture but your dating it as 1967 is an epic fail. SMA Baby Food wasn't that popular in the 60s' or 70s' and the quality of the black and white photography of the 80s' was far clearer than the preceding decades. I wager that this was taken either in the late 70s' or early 80s' at the Seme border (not the Camerounian border).

PoliticsRe: Don't Insult Jonathan On Facebook - N'Delta Group Appeals by solomonkane(m): 9:11am On Dec 31, 2012
Sincere 9gerian: LIAR! Shame on all LIARS!
There's nobody, I mean NOBODY, who supported and campaigned for GEJ in 2011 that will abuse, curse or insult him now. It is a different thing to disagree with any of the policies or programmes of govt and to abuse, curse or insult Mr president. It is the SORE LOSERS of 2011 elections, who by the way began this abuse during the 2011 elections, that have continued to abuse, insult and curse Mr president.
Get that into your thick skull. This is the TRUTH. Truth they say is bitter. Go and ask @Demdem, Gbawe and co.
Shame on all LIARS!
SORE losers, should get over whatever injuries they sustained from the DEFEAT of 2011 elections.
And you know this for a fact because?

What is being done about the constant ethnic bashing especially in the political section, the Igbos and the Yorubas have rendered that section a no-go area for people like us?

Music/RadioRe: Do You Like Rock Music? What's Your Favourite Band? by solomonkane(m): 11:49am On Dec 28, 2012
Rocktation: Okies, fourcade...whatever. smiley. I contributed on the first page, daylae. Most of the songs being listed here are pretty commercial stuff. Pardon me, buh the majority here aren't real rockheads. undecided
This is the reason why I have issues with people who claim to be purists. You classify people's preferences as 'commercial" or "not real" just because you have taken it upon yourself to listen to obscure artists who claim to be pure rockers and thumb their noses at the successful ones but in reality are nothing more than deadbeat, going-nowhere artistes. Same way Jay-Z was initially classified as being a non-rapper. I would rather listen to commercial rockers like Linkin Park than listen to garbage like Arcade Fire or Belle or Papa Roach.
Music/RadioRe: Do You Like Rock Music? What's Your Favourite Band? by solomonkane(m): 11:29am On Dec 28, 2012
Have been a rockaholic for God knows how many years, my top 10 rockers are:

My undisputed number one rock peeps for life are Linkin Park (including Mike Shinoda's side gig; Fort Minor) = Living Things for me is the album of the year 2012 with songs like Powerless (theme song for the Movie 'Abraham Lincoln; Vampire Hunter), Castle of Glass, Burn It Down, Tinfoil, e.t.c.
2. Nickelback
3. Owl City: Fire Flies is a classic for the ages
4. Maroon 5: Too many great tracks to count
5. U2: Awakened my love for rock music
6. Coldplay
7. Greenday
8. The Script: #3 is a damn cool album
9. Creed
10. Coldplay

Honourable mention to people like Phil Collins, Toto, Hoobastank, Three Doors Down and to a lesser extent Nigerians who have done good rock like Jeremiah Gyang in "Kaunah Allah", Neo for "Nepa Bring The Light" and the Roof Top Mcs for "Shock Therapy" and others like "Lagimo"
PoliticsRe: Anambra Governorship Race - Road To 2014 by solomonkane(m): 11:09am On Dec 27, 2012
Well given their antecedents, I would rather go for Nicholas Ukachukwu for the following reasons:

1. Has invested in Anambra thereby creating jobs and getting a first hand feel of what it takes to run a successful business in a tough environment (unlike every other candidate who have been mainly technocrats).

2. Has no political baggage (unlike Soludo and his consolidation brouhaha, Akuyili and her disgraceful behavior as a minister undoing the great work at NAFDAC, Uba and the OBJ years).

3. Is just as intelligent as any of the others.

Ngige would be a good second choice though.

PoliticsRe: Anenih Is New NPA Chairman by solomonkane(m): 9:00am On Dec 21, 2012
Sincere 9gerian: It seems the 'retardinhos' achieve orgasm whenever they hurl insults and abuses on the president. Whether you like it or not, Aneni is a heavy weight in PDP and he'll continue to get peripheral appointments here and there. How does appointing him as chairman NPA board affect you and I? Board appointments are figure heads and have nothing to do with day to day running of the organisation. Even some organisations have been without board for 2yrs or more and it didn't affect their operations. As far I'm concerned, appointing anyone board chairman is a none issue. The people that matter are the ministers and heads of departments and agencies of govt, and GEJ did well in those areas. These are the people that do REAL WORK and the drivers of the transformation agenda.
There is absolutely no need to cry over political compensation of party faithfuls with board appointments. It makes sense that one has to balance competence and drive to deliver with political compensations here and there, otherwise one will LOSE POLITICAL GROUND. And when that happens, the same 'retardinhos' will be here to celebrate
The idiocy behind this post is truly frightening. Pray tell, in what capacity was Bode George serving at the same N.P.A when he was found guilty of corrupt practices and jailed?

PoliticsRe: Injustice Over Nkiru Sylvanus Kidnap by solomonkane(m): 4:49pm On Dec 18, 2012
In as much as GEJ has performed below expectation, calling him on this matter is rather silly. I agree that Miss Sylvanus's kidnapping should be taken seriously but isn't that the role of the I.G or the commissioner of police? I was very critical of the vomit formerly known as Emmanuel "Buffoon" Uduaghan when he made his ridiculous 24 hours release assertion and his attention seeking monkey gimmicks concerning Prof. Okonjo's kidnap. I am happy Rochas is conducting himself in a more appropriate fashion by being silent on the issue. No elected person has any business making political capital out of issues like this, they should face the work of governance and leave security matters to the police.

Many of u employees think u're indespensable and too big to fail. I got a message 4 u @OP,you will be replaced in no time with a secondary school graduate or OND. Ungrateful elements. A word of advice 4 u,tender ur resignation letter in protest of the packs of sugar or file a formal complaints to your boss and see how u wil be relieved of ur misery.
But you are daft o. So because your sales girl ran away with the only 5k you have made from your photocopying business this month, you are crying like a deranged lunatic. Eeyah!!!! E go better.

@OP: Don't mind that wayo man; Aig, just manage am as you see am. Can't say I am surprised, Access Bank took on more than it bargained for when it bought over Intercontinental (at a ridiculously low rate). BNP Paribas among others offered a whole lot more to acquire Intercon but for reasons best known to SLS, they got C.O.C.K blocked.
PoliticsRe: In Your Own Views, What Actually Is Nigeria's Problem? by solomonkane(m): 10:06am On Dec 17, 2012
Find Out!:
1)Leadership. Pure and simple. Be he a xtian or muslim, northerner or southerner, old or young, from ACN (without Tinubu's control) or CPC or even PDP (if such a candidate can ever be allowed to emerge from that cesspit of corruption and violence), as long as he knows that his allegiance is FIRST AND FOREMOST to the NIGERIAN PEOPLE, knows WHAT he's supposed to do, HOW he's supposed to do it, WHEN he's supposed to it and WHO he should delegate (if neccessary) to do it, then believe me, corruption, tribalism, religious bigotry, insecurity e.t.c. will cease to exist like they never happened. Of course not everybody will be happy, since some people derive joy only from chaos and sadness, but at least those unhappy with the wave of change originating from the President's desk & sweeping across the nation, will be powerless to stop it.

Those of you saying amalgamation, stop deceiving yourselves and looking for what may appear to be the easy way out, but is actually the hard way out. This country is not too big and not too diverse to be EFFECTIVELY governed by one person. Almost all the tribes in nigeria are already too interconnected, too intertwined to break up. CNN's popular description of Nigeria as "almost equally split between a muslim north and christian south" is not entirely correct. We don mix pass that one. All we need is re-sensitization and someone bold enough to whip senses into the heads of troublemakers from whatever tribe. I assure you, there'll be peace. Once upon a time, Jos was joyous and peaceful, Kaduna was quiet, Kano was all about commerce. Of course, there must have been undertones of jealousy and hate and bigotry, but the atmosphere of security at the time, relatively low unemployment rate compared to now, didn't permit anyone to mess up. Those who did were promptly dealt with (the small pockets of riots which broke out and were effectively quelled in the 80s, early to late 90s).
Now why is the violence looking like its impossible to stop? the answer is simple: those who should stop it (the politicians and public office holders) are benefiting from the divide and crisis so they are/ were reluctant to stop it. I used "were" because now, as will always happen with most evil plans, it appears to have gone over and beyond the control of the originators.

My opinion.
Sensible, concise and so on point its scary. Big ups!!!

PoliticsRe: Jonathan Will Lose 2015 Election — Asari Dokubo by solomonkane(m): 4:50pm On Dec 16, 2012
Asari Dokubo is no hero and his comments are idiotic to say the least. Obviously his principal has cut off his source of feeding for reasons best known to him. This is why I had a problem with the Amnesty programme in the first place, it has only succeeded in creating another privileged class of criminals like Asari, Tompolo, Ateke Tom e.t.c while the main issues that led to militancy are still far from resolved. The East/West road is not fixed and I suspect won't be fixed for a while because it has become a goldmine for every administration from Abacha's era (much like the P.T.D.F, Ecological Funds and so on) to steal from. Resources are scarce yet we have two government agencies who basically do the same thing (Ministry of the Niger Delta and NDDC)receiving humongous allocations for overhead and recurrent expenditure so who is deceiving who?
CultureRe: Nigeria Most Influential Monarch by solomonkane(m): 4:23pm On Dec 16, 2012
I like this thread and have to say above all else, it is still the Sultan of Sokoto. His authority extends all over the large number of Hausa-Fulani people (and Muslims by extension). Like so many posters have said, the traditional stool isn't so powerful in the East (Obi of Onitsha is mentioned due to the prime location of Onitsha and not any particular authority he exerts) and given the diversity of the Niger Delta, no monarch dare go beyond his own locale. For instance; Oba of Benin has no authority over the Otaru of Auchi, the Azagba of Asaba has no authority in Ika or Ukwuani land, Olu of Itsekiri (Olu of Warri title is a misnomer) dare not command an Urhobo or Ijaw man. In the West, the Ooni of Ife is no longer that powerful (Awujale of Ijebuland pays him no homage for instance and distances Ijebu people from Ife ditto for others like the Alaafin of Oyo, Alake of Egbaland e.t.c).
