To boost ur pcv, you can increase your hematinics(blood medicines e.g Astyfer) to twice daily.
2. Add steamed ugu to most of your meals. Steam it with crayfish, tomatoes and onions.
3. Try and eat meat/fish/egg daily.
With these your pcv should come up before your edd.
Then for your malaria drug question, usually 2 doses of fansidar is given (IPT) for prevention. You are only treated if you have malaria. Mention IPT to your doctor in ur next ANC. All the best

It's safe in 2nd trimester and she can keep taking her sunday sunday medicine.
Don't worry about the breech presentation now. Chances of baby turning is high. It matters as from 36weeks. All d best

Mamas iv been meaning 2 ask, wats d implication on an anterior lying placenta @ Labour? Dose it mean d placenta ll come out b4 baby? Wit my 1st, d placenta was posterior lying nd kicks well felt, wit my 2nd, it was anterior almost tru out d preg but later moved 2 d posterior during my last scan nd b4 delivery. My baby was a sleepy baby tru out so d kicks were not always hard. 4 dis pregnancy, my scan says it's anterior nd kicks have not been 2 hard bt I know my gynea is hoping it changes 2 posterior b4 due date. So am asking, nytn wrong wit an anterior lying placenta @ birth?

Nothing is wrong with an anterior placenta, it's not as if it's placenta previa. I had anterior placenta for my 1st, no biggie. So don't give it a thot pls.

Sorry o! Allow it ripe and burst, afterwards you clean it with savlon/dettol solution and wash your hands. Then watch and see if it reoccurs in another site. If it does she may need an antibiotic.

To d mamas inbthe house. Pls i need your help o. My daughter and boil seems to be 5 and 6. I am soooo tired of this. At first every boil we see we take her to the hospital. All they gave us was paracetamol, multivitamines and antibiotics in which we add water before given her. Was advice to stop antibiotics anytine we see boil that too much of it is not good. Now my questionis how do we fight these boils and they come in 2s, 3s even 4 all together in diff places(head and sometimes forehead)

Secondly my beautiful daughter no dey eat! Chai. Used well kid, and asemin or so. What do i do.? This attitude of her not eatin well deny her of good weight. Wah do u recomend. Pls mention me, quote me. Tank u in advance.

Did u give d antibiotics exactly as u were asked to? Did u complete the dose? Which antibiotics exactly.
Most times antibiotics take care of boils but I some cases, d boils can be recurrent. You will have to practice good hygiene by
*bathing her with savlon/dettol
*Whenever d boil burst, clean wit cotton wool soaked in savlon and wash ur hands afterwards.
*Wash her towels,clothes in hot water
*You may still need an antibiotics may be after culture and sensitivity

@ debbiemma, I don't think there's any special thing you can do except to reduce contact BTW ur 6yr old and ur baby. It's viral and will run its course. Tk care

@lilylurv, in govt establishment, the rule is to start mat leave 1month before EDD. I don't know about ur office, but BTW 2wks to 4wks is ideal. Cheers

Fearless07, pls forget d herbs. The reason for d CS d previous time may not arise ds second time. Just work with your doctor's. What matters is u and baby alive. Wishing u a vbac as your heart desires.

Mama dat wrote about her LO still d same birth weight @ 6wks. If u hv tried ur best and ur LO is still not adding weight pls introduce formula. But don't stop breastfeeding outrightly. The 2 can compliment each other.

Carbimazole is only to be used in pregnancy if the benefit outweighs the risk. It can cause defects in fetus especially in 1st trimester but then hyperthyroidism can cause outright mortality in fetus so ur doctor has to do risk benefit analysis. With dose adjustment, both mum n infant can come out fine. Also about 4wks to delivery the drug is stopped. Some practitioners prefer PTU in first trimester and then switch to carbimazole in 2nd trimester. In all these, work together with your Dr (a consultant preferably), with routine scan for baby's welfare and routine test n monitoring of ur thyroid func, u n baby should come out fine. Cheers

Some react to wheat and others don't. I Think it's called gluten intolerance. My colleagues baby reacted seriously to cerelac wheat, while. It was my 2nd's favourite.

Keep putting baby to breast. I believe in the next 24hrs, lactation should be established. But how do u nothing is coming out? Are u still in d hosp? If LO seems unsettled n very hungry, u may need to get NAN for d mean time. My advice, keep putting baby to breast. Cheers

Good. After peeling, a fresh skin will emerge. You are already on course. Remember to change diaper once wet and to use a barrier cream like vaseline, sudocream etc @ @ diaper area. All the best

Gud day, luvly mothers in d aus, I use coconut oil for my baby and sudocream for his nappy rash, I just noticed now dat the area with the nappy rash is peeling and has white scales on it, please help wat do I do?

It must peel to heal. Is the nappy area still reddish?
