SportsRe: FG Should Stop Investing In Football? by spikesC(m): 12:04pm On Jul 01, 2014
Seun: I have to disagree with that. I think football makes Nigerians happy and unites us. When the Super Eagles are playing there's no Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba or MEND or even Boko Haram. We're all Nigerians. When the Super Eagles win, we are all happy. This is worth investing in, to an extent.
then after its over, we can all go back and start killing each other abi

ps: am not against government sponsorship but that overated excuse is lame

internetpo: Yeah, you have a point there but in my yrs of sojourn online, I av come across the same scenerio and from so called 'expert' foreign hosts n the more annoying is their billing is aggressive, they'll charge ur card even when you have issues or cancel. Part of the reason I set up shop.

You seem to be an advanced user of hosting products and resources, so I guess foreign hosts serve you. Hope the costs is not outrageous. So you dont go pennywise pound foolish
Ofcourse, foreign hosting companies are not exempt from this. Just that ours is the worst i've ever seen.
One of my clients use ipage, and i've been suffering for it. Files get deleted, databases vanishes etc. etc.

The billing is the worst of it all grin

I am a web developer, so i have to be versatile with servers.
Not all foreign hosts can serve me oo. They still have a bunch of shiiits in their environment.
The cost is quite ok, considering the services been provided wink

I still have faith in our Local resellers. But finding one which the admin knows the technicalities involved is a 1 in a million chance
TravelRe: Nigerians Among Races That Excel In America by spikesC(m): 11:15pm On Jan 10, 2014
cramjones: I have read this book and the previous book the author wrote. It is a thing of pride to know that Nigerians excel in every endeavor all over the world not just the United States. That said, while I agree with the cultural aspects the author pointed out, I make bold to say that those factors only contributed probably about 50% of what makes Nigerians successful.

Nigerians that come to the United States are self-selected. They are often times among the best and the most resilient Nigerians. They had to take exams, win scholarships, verify their transcripts, get great GPAs from their Nigerian Universities to make it to the US, and even then, had to go through a visa interview that even further accesses their potential to succeed in the US etc. They are those that naturally seek for excellence and since their inept government created an environment were this excellence remains herculean at best to achieve, they go on to seek it in other climes where talents and potentials can be explored and developed. These Nigerians ultimately excel and become successful in the United States. This to me is what make Nigerians successful.

My dream is to have a Nigeria where these talents can find a space to come back to Nigeria to build our country from the ruins of the GEJ and other previous administrations. We have a chance, We have APC! Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria
This just ruined everything. Political bigot!

internetpo: @ Spikes C n Youngzedd.

You make it sound as if all Nigerian hosting companies are bad. Come on man, whats wrong being a reseller. Should one host a server here in Nigeria? wit wat infrastructure? Is it wrong if I own a server abroad?

Abeg leave wetin dem write 4 moto enter moto jor. Not all Nigerian host are bad, not all foreign are great. perfection doesn' t belong to anyone. I like the personalized service from local hosts. smiley
Pls don't get me wrong, but based on experiences, i can never use a reseller.
Not because of bad service but features. There're so many benefits you get from using a company which has a physical access to their servers.
Guaranteed 99.9% uptime, i can tell you.

For Nigerian hosting providers, their main problem is lack of service ethics, professionalism and technology intellect.

Some don't even know what service/package they have installed on their server.
All their knowledge-base articles are all copy and paste.

And they can't install custom PEAR packages for me, if i need it. That's a big no no.

WebmastersRe: How Do Mobile Apps Earn??? (whatsapp,2go & other) by spikesC(m): 5:41pm On Jan 09, 2014
paulmarkino: All of you guys make me laugh. Don't you know that each app has a recognised IP on each network worldwide. The networks sort the data counter out according to their IP @ a certain period of time and pay to the app owner their own benefits. Thats why some networks will tell you to buy 1 month unlimited whatsapp @ N100 and N300 for unlimited BBM/month etc. Thats why the network providers try as much as possible to stop free browsing cheats that can run those apps thru their network. Using cheat through a network will imply that the network will pay the bill to the app owner from their pocket since they didn't catch the real users to bill them for those data services they made use of. Let me stop here for now. For more info on this, contact me

royalsweetness: Plenty questions.
At what rate do you withdraw with your gtb mastercard over there. Do they use the official mastercard rates to convert or what. Secondly, how do I withdraw from my domiciliary (pounds) account in the UK (since the bank doesn't give atms for it).

Can I just take the money I'd need for the first one month, and leave the rest in my gtb current account. Or are there any advantages to converting much money first before leaving.
Basically, you cannot. The pounds domiciliary account is a private/personal operated account.
Even your cheque book can only be used by you.

But....

If you have a good account officer and a relative/friend you trust, you can sign the checks and give to the relative, anytime you need money from there, you call him/her, tell her how much and direct him/her to the account officer. The account officer will call you to confirm, then withdraw the cash for you.

Guzye: I think I saw Abuja on the new visa4uk site, and i think you should select your appointment venue from the visa4uk site not the vfs site. thanks
Possibly so. They said they made the choice of location based on the details i gave them. Bunch of bull crap.

I've booked an appointment, but they didn't ask me for the time, like the old one does.

Guys, i have a slight problem.

On the new visa4uk site, to book an appointment, there's only Lagos but on the vfs site (old site), there's Abuja.
I would really like to book at Abuja. What do i do now?
