We all, have heard or read about stars saying they have been paying prices for being popular. They can not do what they naturally would have wanted to do: live a normal life, go to Oyingbo market, "demolishing" corn while strolling through Allen Avenue etc etc. Life is even harder if they are not all that confortable economically so to say. They can't run after molue or even climb okada because, if they are not mobbed by people they will be the target of journalists. But with all these, a lot still want to be a star. Does it really worth it? Please let's hear your view. |
Life As A Star: Good Or Bad? We all, have heard or read about stars saying they have been paying prices for being starts. My assessment of the 4 gladiators is as below: 1. Jimi AGBAJE- I see him as a man with idea and vision. He looks real. He is very passionate and everybody seems to love him (Like his campaign). Honestly, my heart votes for him. BUT he is in the wrong party. Nigeria is not matured yet to vote for personality. I score him 80% but He CANNOT win. 2. Tunde FASHOLA- I see him as a stooge. Though brilliant and qualified! His major stain is people see him as a relunctant candidate. A man that is forced on them by Tinubu. His administration is viewed as the continuation of Tinubu's He is in the right party and he stands the chance of reaping from Tinubu's goodwill. A lot will therefore vote for him because of Tinubu and AC. I score him 60% and he stand 50-50 chance of winning. 3. Femi PEDRO- The next governor that will never be. Honestly he stood the best chance before he soil his finger with the treasury problem and he is not helping the matter by coming out to defend himself. He is not a politician even though he has been there for 4 and a half years. He is temperamental and he's seen as a capitalist. To compound the matter he is in the VERY WRONG PARTY. Labour what? Even the immediate past Labour President is not contesting under labour party. He has no follower, no platform and no standing. I score him 40% 4. Musiliu Obanikoro- He is an opportunist. To Tinubu and his party, he is also a traitor. But which politician is not a traitor? Tinubu? Obasanjo? , ? A lot see him as not qualified. Even though he has been in politics for many year, he does not have the capacity to govern a complex state like Lagos. He has no idea as far as I am concern. He however has some goodwill because of the government in Power- PDP. I score him 30% but he stands 50-50 chance of winning. Other contestants are just there to improve their CV: Former Gubernatorial Candidate in Lagos state. They stand no chance. This is my candid opinion. |
Beauty, they say, is in the eyes of the beholder |
lekinxyn, You can mail me @ walediscovery@yahoo.com, I will give you an ebook "Cisco Router Configuration for Dummies" It explained everything you have to know about Router Configuration and it is comprehensively: more than 500 pages I think. |
The problems we have has to do with our government. The GSM operators used to print the Recharge Card, yes, ordinary recharge card abroad, until government banned it. I dont agree that the issue is lack of adequate equipment. Government should wake up to its responsibilities. I mean, these companies can't compare what they make in Nigeria to what they make in their native African countries. Look at what happen with DStv of a thing where they have the licence to transmit Premiership to African counties including Nigeria. But when the Minister of Information woke up, he took it upon himself and from next season local operators will transmit the matches. These are what we want from our goverment, not Ghana must Go bag, not PTDF stuff |
Who will rule Lagos come May 2007? |
A new IT and Accounting Training School is now in Lagos. It is called HiiT (Hands-on Institute of Information Technology) situated at 27, Obafemi Awolowo Way, Ikeja (beside Awolowo Glass House). Tel: 8751779, 8760957. It is not really new in Nigeria as they claimed to have been around for 10 years but basically in the North. I was there to register my brothers and the facilities were beyond description. It is far above NIIT and Aptech. They even have free Internet facilities for the students. The lecturers are certified and experienced. I thinks this is a good alternative to NIIT, Aptech and karrox and it is even a Nigerian company |
They are three of a kind, I mean NIIT, Aptech and the new Karrox. Despite the huge amount of money they charge, there is hardly nothing to show for it in term of impartation. Indians are only interested in your money. Do you know that lecturers are leaving them everyday, why? because a certified lecturer is paid less than N30,000. And what do you expect, not so qualified lecturers. Let us partronise Nigeria products. Indians are failing us with their imported education |
I was surprised that some members are not aware that you can now graduate with a B.Sc and ACCA by age 20, even here in Nigeria. An educational consultancy firm, HiiT Limited (not NIIT) at 27, Obafemi Awolowo Way, Ikeja (beside Awolowo Glass House, Ikeja Bus Stop) is now co-ordinating the programme in Nigeria. Telephones: 01-8751779, 8760957. According to them, the programme runs for JUST 3 YEARS and the minimum entry requirement is O'Levels. They will register you for ACCA and B.Sc (Applied Accounting), tutor you and you take the online exams with them. Within 3 years, you will have your ACCA and B.Sc (Applied Accounting) from Oxford Brookes University, in UK. While your mates are been jammed by JAMB, you are already graduated. The advantages are: 1. You have a foreign degree/certificate. 2. You are a chartered Accountant with ACCA 3. You are automatically awarded ICAN's ACA in Nigeria because ACCA is more recognised than ACA. What else? I think, it is more reasonable than anything else. I just registered my brothers and I learnt the next batch commences November 27, 2006. University and Polytechnic graduates who are being disappointed by ICAN can also register, I learnt. |
