When the christendom was gradually forgetting the disastrous effect of the death of Pastor Bimbo Odukoya, the carismatic and flamboyant tele-evangelist, it was hit by yet another blow with the death of another general in the God's army: Pastor Eskor Mfon, The Provincial Pastor of RCCG Lagos Province 4 and Pastor of RCCG City of David, VI, Lagos. It was with a hugh shock I received this bad news. In RCCG, he was a father to many, a mentor per excellence and a Field Marshal in the God's Army. He will particularly be remebered by his achievements in transforming City of David from nothingness to the level it is today. Perhaps you have not come across Pastor Mfon before, chances are that you have watched HEAVEN'S GATE, the soap opera running on STV every Sunday evening. That programme is being produced by Zik Zulu Okafor of Zulu Films as commissioned by Pastor Eskor Mfon. The opera stars great actors like Alex Usifo, Enebeli Elebuwa, Joe Layode, Tosan Edremoda Ugbeye, Fred Amata, Lari Williams, Rita Dominic, Monalisa Chinda, France Brown, Ndidi Obi, among others. According to Zik Zulu Okafor, the writer and producer of the soap, "The idea of Heavensgate arose at the instance of Pastor Eskor Mfon who asked a fellow shepherd, my pastor, Pastor Femi Obawaya to help look for a good hand to do a Christian soap opera to put on TV for viewers. And my pastor took me to him and we discussed and he told me the kind of thing he wanted. He does not want a soap opera that will talk about God, God, God, God. He wanted something that people would enjoy and there will also be messages. After our discussions, it took me about two weeks to develop the story which I think God gave me, because there was no way I could have put that story together if it was not inspired of God. Something woke me up about 2:00am in the morning and at that point, something told me 'I think you are trying to develop a story for a soap opera? Why don't you use the serenity of the night offers. So, I started writing. And by the time I became conscious of myself, it was already 6:00am in the morning and I found out that the whole story that I wanted to write has come. So I went to show the man (Pastor Eskor Mfon) and he like the story and told me to go ahead that he wants to shoot it. I made my budget and we went to locations. That's how it started. So the idea of doing a Christian soap opera was Pastor Eskor's." Heavensgate, the result of the meeting is a unique Christian television soap opera, but that makes use of secular materials in the propagation of the gospel. This is a loss too many. Our consolation is in the fact that Pastor Mfon is going home to rest with the Lord after a job well done. He has fought a good fight and his reward is waiting for him. He came, he saw and he conquered. Death, where is thy sting? Adieu! Adieu!! Adieu!!! Our dear beloved Pastor Mfon

I use them in my office. I signed for 512kbps (shared) swiftbusiness @ 75k per month. They also charged me 30k for Set up cost. em, It's been up and down but I think it is still ok. There was a time I felt like shooting them when the signal was down for like a whole day. I also see that I experinced rpoblem when it is raining. But, which connection doesn't have its own weakness? When I was using DOPC, it was also a tug of war. You can try them and if they f**k up, you discontinue, but they are getting there. @ Elizabeth You are pretty correct, Reconnection fee is 2.5k. |
Premiership, especially has received more patronage in the last 4-5 years. This is not unconnected with the reception African stars are getting in England. However, Nigeria has been witnessing frequent soccer hooliganism as it is being recorded in Lagos recently. Just yesterday Breaking News, a Lagos-based Evening newspaper reported a case of Liverpool fan who killed his Chelsea conterpart. What do you have to say to this. A case of somebody smiling to the bank and another busy destroying live? |
Honestly when Mr. Osewa started this thread, I thought he was being sincere. He has forgotten that "Bi o ba ngunyan bo'lu, waa lota. Bi o si n soko soja, wa a lore" You can't please everybody, as one man's meal is another man's poison I had expected him to study the contribution, address what needs to be addressed, and ammend what needs to be addressed. Not trying to start another argument in the midst of an arguement. If you have all the answers, you shouldnt have started the thread in the first instance. And if you feel, we are not your customers, wait until we leave, it is then you will know if we dont visit, those who advertise will not advertise. Sofry mai bros. |

Get a new battery dear. Simple! if it still refuses to work, don't throw it away, Here are some professional use you can put it to:
|
I dont 9 Seun, but I will advise him as follows: 1. He should take opportunity of this forum now, commercialise it and make some fortune out of it. I expect the home page to be full of advert. You need to market yourself boy! 2. Remove the "gracious and merciful, " stuff and get a more corporate line. And be more corporate in your reactions. 3. I am surprise to see how you are banning, since you went against Ini Edo ban. You see what we mean about going against rules and regulations now? You can't ban people, they will always resurrect. 4. Use Admin name for administrative purpose, and use Seun as an individual and the two must be separated. 5. Please tolerate other people's view. 6. Please give Seun some time to "mature", he is only 24. I doubt if many of us are as mature as this @ 24. He is a still a student in the corporate world. |
From the contributions so far, the reason for mama being too "harsh" and "hot tempered" is obvious. Mama is reacting to the effect of having to shoulder alone the responsibilty of a father and a mother. The effect of a disappointment from a loved one (her husband). Women tend to over-react, when it comes to the issue of their spouse. Have you ever seen some women who lost their husband? I have a case, and your mum is even a tip, when compared to thsi one. Your mum is not too harsh. She loves you guys. The truth of the matter, however, is that, YOU CAN'T CHANGE HER!.. I am sure your mum regrets it each time she overreacted, but she just can't change herself. mi dear, you have just to learn to cope with it. Afterall you are not living together. What you can't change, you learn to tolerate it. |
I think we are getting some thing wrong here Ini Edo was not banned for f, g around! Ini Edo was banned for what AGN termed gross misconduct, indiscipline and outright violation of professional duties. http://nm.onlinenigeria.com/templates/?a=9847&z=3 Just as a doctor, an accountant, a lawyer or any other professional can be banned for any professional miscounduct, an actress or whatever she called herself can be banned? QED |
Seun, you get it wrong! There is nothing like professional role model. You know what? You are a role model in your little way because of this your contribution to the society. Imaging what will hapeen 2mr if somebody hears Seun is a drug peddler! You will disappoint a lot of people. That is exactly what we are saying |
I think when we contribute, in this forum, it should be done using the Rotary four-way test 'cos that is why we have a forum like this. Surprisingly, Seun himself has not done justice to the issue at hand. Of the things we think, say or do: 1. Is it the TRUTH? 2. Is it FAIR to all concerned? 3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS? 4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?" Now, who is a Role model? Role model refers to a person who fills his or her role as a good or bad example for others. A good example is a positive role model. A bad example is a negative role model. The term role model on its own is usually taken to mean a positive role model. A positive role model carries out a role demonstrating values, ways of thinking and acting, which are considered good in that role. Others hopefully will follow the example. A woman professor can be seen as a role model for other women, on the strength of her furthering of the profile of women in academia. Alternatively, she could be seen as a role model for aspiring academics, regardless of their gender, on the strength of her academic achievements and/or dedication to her chosen discipline. Parents can be positive role models helping their children learn adult ways or they can be negative role models. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Role_model In Nigeria as a developing country, artists are suppose to be a positive role model because they are who our children see on movie day-in day-out and most of them would aspire to be like them. But the reverse has been the case in Nigeria. Those who show us the side effect of promiscuity, drug peddling and use, notoriety, broken home, love of money and other negative vices are the main cuprits. An average star actress in Nigeria is hardly settle down, most of them have broken homes, single mothers. You find them jumping from one man to the other. Doing those things that are contrary to our custom all in the name of being "STARS" The most annoying ones are the so called gospel musicians. The people we should sit down and tell them about gospel are ironically the same people that are telling us. Impregnating the church choirs with their welu welu style. So if Ini is banned, it is because she is not Ini again but a public figure who should be responsible and show a good example to the generations to come. We should know that to every profession, there are dos and donts and if you run foul of any, you must be ready to face the music. |
[s]Seun, I dont know whether or not this topic has been shared before. If not[/s] Should you have a second chance to come back to the world and the opportunity to choose what you want to come as, what will it be? A dog? A cat? Being a white man/woman? Change the habit or feature you dont like about yourself. As for me, given the chance, I wont like to come as a Nigerian. I will prefer to be born into a land of opportunities. Where hardwork pays and you earn as you work. What about you |
Spur what? TufiaH In Nigeria? Nigerians don't support failure! How many watford fan do you see in Nigeria. Naija, Naija. I doff my cap |
Somebody sent me this link and I find it very Refreshing. http://www.onesolitarylifemovie.com I am sure you will! It doesn't cost God a thing to create this World, but it cost HIM, HIS only begotten SON to save the World. |
If you cast your mind back to the era of the aborted Third Republic i.e. during the SDP/NRC time, one will not hesitate to advocate two-party system for Nigeria. It was well balanced because it's either you belong to the left or to the right. The problem with multi-party system especially in third-world countries is that you have so many parties that management becomes very difficult as witnessed during the last In addition to this, you will have so many Davids that can never withstand Goliath a la PDP. Whether we have one party or hundred parties in Nigeria, we will still bastardised it. The problem with Nigeria is attitude and bad leadership and not system. Only God can save us. |
Men, I am not an organised person when it comes to arranging things. 1. I would want somebody to tidy up my rooms 2. The same to my office. Jesus! my table is always untidy. Sheet of paper everywhere 3. While I love to wash cloth (sometimes), I damned hate to iron them. I loath the chore. I can't outsource my matrimonial duty though. Even if sometimes I dont feel like doing it, yet no vacancy in the department. ![]() |

Though I studied computer Sc., experience has shown that it is not necessary to study it at undergraduate level to have headway in it, especially in Niegria. I will strongly advise courses like Maths, Physic, Engineering or even Econs/Account. The fact of the matter is, it doesnt worth the obsolete stuffs you are made to pass through in the University. You can gather all the hardware/software/networking knowledge you need during holidays registering in best schools in Lagos. As it is done in Medicine/Law, specialization is the future of IT and unless you are well grounded in professional courses like Accounting, you might find it a little tough (without assistance) being the best programmer in financial solution, for example. |
There is no gainsaying that majority of Nigerians see Obasanjo's 8 years mis(rule) as a failure. Even though it was able to perform creditably well in the area of our foreign reserve and debt. An average Nigeria sees this as not affecting him personally. In spite of trillion of dollars generated from the oil sector, this does not have significant impact in the standard of living of the populace. In the areas of Electricity, Road, Educational Systems, Corruption, Health, Respect for the Rule of Law and even democracy, the government scores below average. Who, in your opinion, are those men behind the failure's mask. Is it Jerry Gana, Tony Anineh, Bode George, Atiku(?), Sunday Ehindero, Ufot Ekaeteh or Baba himself. |
Just to add to what has been said: If you are working, there is normally a clause in your letter of appointment that will stipulate the period of notice to give when you are leaving. In its place however you may need to do some payment in lieu. If you are asked that simple question this is how to go about it. "In as much as I would have loved to join you early enough, there is a need for me to give a Bleep months as contained in my letter of appointment. Besides, due to the sensitivity of my functions, there is a need for me to put somebody through, so that my exit will not negatively affect the company. However, if you want me to resume early enough, all I need to do if to fasten the process of handing over and pay for the remaining period" There are some points from the above statements: 1. You are given an impression of a responsible employee, who understand and abides by the rule of the game. 2. You are also saying that you are very much essential in your present place of work. Not a desperado. 3. You are confirming your interest to joining them even if it takes parting with some money 4. You are also indirectly assuring this would-be employer that you will not leave them unceremoniuosly, should you find another job in the future. For a company that is serious and "desperately" needs your service, she may volunteer to do the payment in lieu on your behalf. In all, one must be very observant of the reason for the question. |
Whether we are started to be Chelsea fans yesterday, or today, one thing is certain: RELATIONSHIP STARTS IN A DAY. And you know what? Failure is an orphan, Everbody is success' relative. If you like go support Nassarawa United. Na you sabi! Bluesfor LIFE |
Sorry babyosisi, I mean Adechuks |
I beg to disagree with babyosisi. You see, Enia buburu loba enia rere je. The fact that Xtianity and Islam have been bastardised in the country does not mean we should forget the scripture. Nothing bad in seeing something and implore people to pray about it. And Seun, we all have our different callings. To say people they prophesy and the fact that you dream and it does not come to pass does not mean it is the same with other people. I agree that we should pray. Afterall what have we got to loose if it was not meant to happen and we still pray. And we should not trivialise the things of God for He can not be mocked. And for the fake pastors, the wrath of God is fast approaching a la His unHoliness The Most disHonourable nonRev nonDr unPastor Chukwuemeka King |
While it is very good to help a friend (if in need), Nigerians (I dont know why) have a way of stabbing you at the back the moment they get the offer, especially if it is the same company you work. I am talking form experience. The person you introduced will be the very person that will now be doing everything to frustrate you especially if you happen to be the boss. And you wont want to sack him/her or reporting him, since you recommended him in the first place. What I will advise is since you have already done the introduction, please finish the process, she may turn out to be one that appreciates good turn. Do your best and leave the rest. |
The defeated PDP Gubernatorial candidate of the just concluded Governorship election in Lagos State, Senator Musiliu Olatunde Obanikoro is reported to be hospitalised. The irony in the news is that his deputy is also hospitalised. From the report, this is as a result of the result of the election. While one wishes them "soonest recover" (apology to Sir Shina Peters), one will not fail to imagine why people will fall sick if indeed he is seeking for an opportunity to SERVE in the election. From all indication, I can attribute the "sickness" to the shock and anxiety of how to recover the billions of Naira that was expended on the election. Imagine what would have happened to the tax payers' money if people like this have been successful in the election. My people, when will we stop money politics in Nigeria? |
Eni se nkan efufu lara nfu, You are confusing us! You have not cheated on him Yet you do not want invasion of your privacy Your husband-to-be is invading into your privacy? Do you mean you have a privacy you dont want him to know about Even if the guy is fighting a psychological war with you, you have lost in your defence |
The Apex court in the land, Nigeria's Supreme Court, this afternoon clears Vice President Atiku Abubakar, the Presidential Candidate of Action Congress for the forthcoming Presidential Election. Delivering judgement, alll the judges concurred that INEC has no power to disqualify him for the election. What do you say to this? Victory for Democracy or the triumph of corruption? And considering that it will be very difficult for him to win the election alone, wouldn't it be appropriate for him to teem up with Major General, sorry Alhaji Muhammadu Buhari to checkmate the almighty PDP. |
Who Will Rule Lagos Come May 2007? Babatunde Raji Fashola (BRF) of AC will. QED. Case Close. Courtttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt! |
They belong to the club of billionaires, play for big clubs in Europe and the sport news is not complete without their names being mentioned. However, they are most of the time rated far beyond what we see them do in the field of play. Who in your opinion is the most over rated soccer star in Europe? Man U's Rooney and Ronaldo? Chelsea's Lampard, Drogba and Terry? Arsenal's Henry? Barcelona's Etoo and Ronaldinho or even Madrid's Beckam? |
