Anything u veto can still be subject of judicial process . The executive will be at loggerhead with the legislature in a lawsuit which the judiciary will determine how the case will
be decided .

That’s just a recipe for disaster
I agree as I have stated above. But it still remains an option.

It is as declaring a state of emergency. At that point NASS or even Judiciary steers clear.

The last thing you want as a President is an antagonistic NASS.
NASS does not have veto powers. Only the Executive has.

But that doesn't mean it's easy. The process is long and can lead to impeachment if it fails.

Thanks man. I appreciate this.
1. Security - Reforming the police is one humongous task and if he can pull it off...
2. Economy - what exactly are we going to produce? Surely we can't compete in the technology area.
Agriculture you say? That would be interesting. A lot of investment is obviously needed in that area. Where do we source the investment from?
3. On governance - Cutting spending? Is he going to close some parastatals or reduce salary for government workers, officials including the presidency?
4. On power - For me oh, this is the number 1 problem after security. Fix this and we will all be smiling to the bank. haha.
5. Corruption - He is going to cut spending and then stop corruption? Again, if he can pull this off....
I think we must begin to hold our elected officers accountable for their words. Whoever wins, Nigerians must start putting pressure on him to fulfil their so called campaign promises.

I get friends wey dey rent all those Airbnb for Lekki and all ….Yet from their “humongous bills “ I know the owner of the property won’t still break even in the nearest future .

Lagos state government go still rightfully collect their land use charge based on the value of the property , all different agencies sef go show face ……. Whether u sell or u no sell u must pay government its dues or risk being locked down .
In real estate, your capital is secured in the asset which itself appreciates, so what ever you get as rent is just profit. All you now need to do is control maintenance.

The 1999 constitution is a bichasss constitution and anybody who has plans to reform naija should put it out there that they will do everything to first ditch the constitution after arranging for a constitution review in the early days of their administration . No matter what u do if the 1999 constitution still subsists, this country go continue to suffer .
As the executive he has veto power. But I don't think the NASS will want the public to hear that they are insisting on feeding from our meagre resources

Cut spending how. What part of spending will he cut? Is it the part that is codified in the laws or salaries or stop capital projects

So this state of emergency what exactly does it mean? Generate more? Distribute more or reduce consumption of power?

Any specific policy or just like Buhari? Many people will swear Buhari is not chopping but has that stopped AGF ministers CBN governor Senators and even civil servants
I am not going to start a defense here. I have just informed us on what he said.

Besides, I am not going to be bamboozled by what politicians say. They make a lot of promises like Tinubu is doing.

What I am after basically is character first, then competence, then capacity.

Tinubu and Atiku failed woefully in terms of character considering their past. I'll pass Obi and Tinubu for competence, I will pass Obi and Atiku for capacity. In all Obi has the edge.

In ur opinion , where do u think the money to do all of these will be sourced ? Because the only thing that don’t require money in the above is cutting government spending ( and even cutting govt spendings May not be something he has full control over. He can only speak for the executive arm of the government and can’t do much as far as legislature and judiciary arms spendings are concerned )
Most of the cost of governance actually comes from frivolous spending such as foreign trips, medical tourism etc.

He can also effect change through his annual budget. Imagine NASS alone gulping N330billion from this year's budget. Some of those are newspaper allowances up to the tune of tens of millions per house member.

I've been asking this question and yet to see an appropriate answer other than some nonsense person telling me I'm pro this, pro that. I am not pro anything. I will make up my own mind.

How exactly is Peter Obi proposing to fix this country? I've watched his videos and besides quoting figures and that he is a younger candidate, what else does he have to offer?

Please only concrete answers and not "se you are this, se you are that"?

Edited:
Please add Atiku to the list - What is he offering?
1. On security he said he will be incharge as he cannot disclose he security plans. He will also reform the police - responsible and responsive policing. This includes creating state and local government police.

2. On economy, he said he will move the country from a consumption economy to production using our vast resources like land, water etc. He means agriculture basically. He will also create a single exchange for currency.

3. On governance, he said he will cut spending.

4. On power, he will declare a state of emergency. Any body who can produce power will be given access to the industry until things improve.

5. On corruption, he simply said 'as I nor chop who else go chop?'

Etc etc

You think Northerners are like Southerners. grin grin. We still dey learn politics for South. They are light years ahead of us.

You think an outgoing Northern Governor will not have influence on the election?

Just a meeting with the Sultan, the Emirs, and the chief Imams of those states will influence any election whatsoever.

You don't do the Governor's bidding, and he will remove you like they removed Sanusi.

The only person that needs to talk in the North is the SULTAN. All of them will shift ground fast.

Na here we no send Obi, Ooni or Obasanjo o. To them, it is NORTH FIRST o. Everybody face the same place.
I don't think Obi can hope on the north. If he is wise he will concentrate on the south and NC to at least secure a run off.

That said, the north will be widely split- forget the APC induced crowds. The north vote on religious sentiment. That means that Tinubu with his MM ticket will share most of the votes with Atiku. The Christians and few other non-northeners will gravitate towards Obi.

Obi will definitely win the entire south.

This election will be determined by voter turnout in the regions. Insecurity accross the nation is a big factor. Those who are able to convince their people to turnout more will deliver their candidate.

I think the circumstances favour Obi as he is guaranteed almost 3 regions.

Even if Nigeria had refining capacity, one way or the other, subsidies would still be needed

For instance, dangote’s refinery would have the capacity to fulfill local demand but what happens when diesel is being sold for 10€ a gallon in Europe and in Nigeria he can’t get such figures based on the purchasing power of Nigerians

Would his prioritize local demand and accept lower profit margins, I don’t think so.
Oh, I get your point.

Somehow there will be concessions from the FG like buying crude oil below international prices.

Even if refineries are fixed, when something has a free market price and you sell it less than that price, there is a subsidy one way or another. Nothing stops our refineries selling refined petroleum products at free market price to Ghana or any other country if they were working. To sell it to Nigerians less than that price implies a subsidy

If you own a refinery in Nigeria and you refine fuel. In Togo or Ghana you can sell for $2 per Liter while Nigeria you are compelled to sell for $1 per liter what will you do?
Price should be determined by the market forces of demand and supply not government compulsion. If there would be government intervention in determining price then there should be a form of subsidy which we don't want due to abuse.

All these talk of getting rid of fuel subsidy is dangerously counterproductive, our people need to stop being useful idiots to the west. Personally I consider Nigeria a failed state so I don’t really care but millions are going to die, if fuel subsidy is removed

Nigeria isn’t the only nation with such policies, cost of living anywhere in the world is heavily dependent on the price of fuel, if it shoots to 500~700, millions will be improvised, every argument against fuel subsidy is contextually flawed.

100m out of 200m in poverty at 175 a liter, increased that to 500, and you are taking away the purchasing power of millions that were already struggling, thousands die everyday because of hunger.

You can deprive them of opportunities and a future but don’t take food from their mouth, that’s evil.
I totally agree with you.

But it is important to know that subsidies arose due to the failure of our refineries and the dependence on importation of oil products. Subsidies are killing our economy and it creates a big avenue for stealing and corruption.

However, if they must remove subsidies, they must first fix our refineries or our private refining of petroleum.

Igbos supporting Biafra plan B
The reason many Igbos drifted into Biafran agitation is because it provided an escape route from the utter mismanagement, mishandling and misrule of the country and its resources. interestingly it's not just the Igbos but also the Yoruba Nation agitators, the Niger Deltan agitators etc

Peter Obi provides a paradigm shift. a new hope of a unified strong nation. It could have been any other person with similar qualities of character, competence and capacity. For now it's just Peter Obi and that is why all agitators (not just Igbos) are rallying around him.

Whoever loves Peter Obi loves Nigeria. Whoever hate Peter Obi wants this country to continue its downward drift and therefore hates Nigeria. That's a fact.

Obasanjo has told you, Edwin Clark has told you, Pa Adebanjo has told you. Do you like Nigeria more than them? Are they also Biafran agitators?

What you don't realize is that I was way ahead of you even before you start your argument.
You wanted me to mention Tierney (for width) and Zinchenko (Inverted Midfield).
The simple thing you still can't comprehend is that Zinchenko can still offer width and Tierney can still play as inverted FB. Whoever starts will give you whatever you want.

Na the inability to understand small logic like this dey make people fail jamb
Akara and moi moi may be made of the same materials, but they can never give the same taste. And people will always have preference.

Even though both play in the same tactical set up, Tierney offers more width than Zinchenko and Zinchenko is better as inverted than Tierney. I understand shame will not allow you to admit. But it is what it is.

Lol... These are your very words. You can turn amala all you like but just know you're the one that typed this.

It's clear the above is wrong cos Tierney hardly played stretched width this season. He also doesn't cross ball alot like you opined.

So your question is irrelevant cos like I said earlier, we are discussing what happened and what is happening(which is the reason why we're top of the league) and not what will happen.
I have never suggested that Tierney does not invert. What I have said is that he adds more width compared to Zinchenko whenever he plays which is attributed to his style.

I used that to compare how that GJ falls deeper than Nketiah.

Remember when I insisted that GJ stays in the box if he must score goals? I also said if Nketiah gets his chance he will score more goals than GJ, irrespective of the contributions GJ brings to the team.

There is no favourable ones among the two. The coach can pick anyone of them.
There's always a favourite between two varied options depending on what is needed at a particular time.

I asked simple questions.

1. In the current tactical set up of inverted fullbacks who is more preferred between Zinchenko and Tierney?

2. If in a particular game, Arteta wants width and crosses who will he go for between Tierney and Zinchenko?

If you don't know the answer just say so. Na small thing dey make people no pass Jamb.
