HorlarJP: I am just being surprised at how far our country have been left behind by other African countries . And to be sincere i didn’t know Ghana currency supersedes our Naira. A 100 Cedes is almost equivalent to 10 thousand naira .. meaning 1 cedes is 100 naira .
Naira just useless like anything I came here with Naira and I really regretted doing so You seem to be ignorant of a lot of things. Ghana redenominated her currency by removing FOUR zeros. So your so-called 1 Ghana cedi is actually the same value of the New cedi, which was used until the redenomination in 2007. Secondly, I do not know where you have gone in Ghana. The place is just as 3rd world looking as Nigeria in terms of infrastructure. It is an overhyped nation. The only difference: Ghana is a safe country, and the electricity is good (depending on where you stay). My last 6-month stay there saw only two 5-minute power failures. I had a house there from 2017 to date and stay there for months at a time. Even have a bank ac, so I know the place in toto. |

owobokiri: This whole waterway traveling is sooo messy and dangerous considering all that can happen that it shouldn't be tried again. This is what happens when you don't have a tough captain. If it was when Stephen Keshi was the captain of super eagles or even Sunday Oliseh, this won't happen. Not a single jet to fly these guys to Cotonou in less than an hour? What if there was a pirate attack or mishap? Imagine the public relations nightmare that would have been for this seemingly shameless country? And how is it that an institution as big as the FA of a country like Nigeria is always complaining of funds, inspite of all the business opportunities available for the marketing department? This is what happens when you have rectangular pegs in horizontal holes.. When I start exposing your crass ignorance, una go say I don come again. Have you ever travelled by sea? Have you ever seen the gunboats of the Nigerian Navy in action? My first journey by boat in this world was 1984. I have been to locations abroad where the only access is by sea and it was a sweet experience. Lack of exposure is the worst thing that can happen to a human being. I suggest you save some money and at least travel a little to expand your worldview. |

Omoluabi1stborn: And nah Nnmadi Azikwe cause all this rubbish.
In 1953 when Northern Nigerians were beginning to consider secession from the Nigerian colony that would soon be a nation, Nnamdi Azikiwe gave a speech before the caucus of his political party, the National Council of Nigeria and the Cameroons (NCNC) in Yaba, Nigeria on May 12, 1953. That speech, while not disallowing secession, suggested that there would be grave consequences if the Northern region became an independent nation. Ironically, fourteen years later, Azikiwe led his Eastern Region out of Nigeria and created Biafra, a move that prompted a bloody three year civil war. Azikiwe’s 1953 speech appears below.

When he was thinking that Ibos will rule the world and Nigeria
Who could have thought that tables will turned Who allows puerile individuals like this on Nairaland that come here to just lie and distort history? How many Yorubas have herdsmen killed that they now want secession? How many Igbos were killed in the pogrom of 1966? Compare the numbers and ask yourself what leader with a conscience would stand by and watch his people slaughtered without cause. You think everyone is like Buhari who does not seem perturbed as to whether bandits and herdsmen are slaughtering Nigerians everyday? |

Switchman: Please I Need Your Candid And Long Term Advise, I Am Presently Depressed And Out
This will be a lengthy one but I promise to summarize it as much as I can.
I met a lady in her late 30s 18months ago through an online friend. I was working in Lagos while she was based and working in Abuja.
We chatted for a while before she volunteered to come to Lagos for a visit over the weekend which doesn't seem a bad idea to me cos I believed seeing in person is better than 1 million pictures.
Due to her age and desperation, we met and she liked what she saw in me and intensive talks began on how I can relocate to Abuja and get better job. I actually haven't been to Abuja so I was excited to take that move with the hope of becoming a better person and getting a better job.
I resigned from my job due to some issues as at that time which could had been managed but so I can have more time to visit and see how things are in Abuja before making my final preparation to relocate. She supports financially during those time while I use my car for ehailing business pending when I will finally relocate.
Covid 19 lock down came and all plans were halted due to restrictions on vehicular movements. Fast forward to November last year I made final plans and I agreed to finally relocate but on the conditions that we will need to get a new apartment cos I don't want to move in with her to her former apartment which was a one room self contain, we got a 1 bedroom apartment and I moved in with her. She owns 90% stake on the expenses incurred but in the spirit of hope for a better job, I will upgrade the apartment to have an equal stake in the home.
It's been 3 months now I have fully relocated and we have been cohabiting but it's been hell for me and I just need help on how to get out of this mess I put myself. No job was forth coming and due to the fact that I am home always, I have been reduced to a house help cos I am the one doing the chores, cleaning the dishes and even my laundry though she pays for her own, so many other insults and atimes it's with exchanges of words before I can take a walk just to acclimatize myself with the terrains of the area.
It's really a bad experience for a man not to have a steady source of income cos in a twinkle of an eye the love will vanish.
I love the lifestyle of Abuja cos it is less stressful than Lagos and I will really like to get a good source of income so I can get my own apartment and be free from the shackles I put myself in the name of love.
I really need help now cos I know my days are numbered and it's a matter of time before she sends me packing cos I really don't have the right to the apartment. Please house, I need your candid advise on what to do and as always constructive criticism is allowed.
Thanks Switchman Is this woman your wife? I am sure if your father hears this, he will be mad with you because surely, he did not train you to turn into a human leech. I do not know what this world is turning into. A man will pack his luggage to go living with a woman who he did not pay dowry for. |

Fixey: Smiles. I'm kin to SE. It's exactly why people should built healthy relationships with other people and not act irrationally. While there may be a claim on stereotypes, tribal hating and all, let's be objective that many times the igbo dude would act like to hell with it and goes all out to do and undo. This is what it always leads to... That attitude of I don't give a hoot and to hell with consequences. It's the exact attitude that makes people characterise the Igbos as people to be careful with. In this scenario, it's not tribal hating but what the average igbo man does.
Before anyone misconstrues my points. In all houses I've lived in, I've conducted myself so peaceable and gentle that mu landlords even friends all looked for people from my tribe to get involved with. Why? Their experiences from dealing with me. Close to 4 friends got married to people from my tribe because of how how interconnected with me and how I impressed on them. Regardless of what happens in all the houses I lived in, nothing touches me. In the village I have projects setup, people love me from the entrance of the city into the interiors
My dear, tell igbos to stop the to hell attitude and work on building good relations with people. There are thousands of such stories above. It's not tribal hating, it's the igbotic attitude What a piece of bull crap! |

Prospertochu: I got my girlfriend then now wife pregnant, I wasn't ready for marriage. My plan was to take care of her and my baby while she stays in her father's house, her mother was fine with it as long as I take care of my responsibilities, but everything changed when the scan confirmed that she was carrying triples, her mother said I must marry her because there's no way her daughter will still under her roofs with 3 children.
I pleaded with her to give me sometimes to find my own accommodations because I was living in my father's family house after his demise I stay with his siblings while my mum left with my younger sister.
My mother in law refused saying I must do something fast because she doesn't want people to mocked her that her daughter has gotten pregnant out of wedlock not just with one baby but 3 so I managed to save enough money to get a place for our own but her mother refused saying I must pay her bride price first, I didn't have any more money so i have borrowed from friends and added to the money I had to pay for her bride price. It wasn't a big party just something small, I took my wife to my father family house where we are living now with our triplets but things hasn't been easy for me, taking care of 3 children it's not easy, I am grateful that I am rent free but household bills are killing me.
My wife and I are always arguing because she keeps asking for more money my salary is 55k I use to give her 20k monthly, 10 monthly to my mother and I use 20 and save 5k she said the money wasn't enough that I am stingy, I now started giving her 25k she is still complaining about the money not being enough. I refused giving her more she started staving me of sex and foods. My family are tired of separating us fighting almost every day, my uncle has asked us to leave the compound because we are disturbing there peace and I had to beg him to forgive us that ur shouldn't be happening again and I cautioned my wife but she is threatening to abandon me with the kids. I have told her to do her worse because I am tired of her madness. I wish I never married her in the first, all I could've do is to take care of my kids and let her be I know it's too late now to change the past but what should I do? You cannot raise triplets on a 55k salary! Period! The issue is not from your wife. The issue is that you need to quickly ramp up your earnings, rent your own house and give your wife and kids a home! How can you keep your wife in a family compound with uncles and relations around? |

pozehnani: 70million what?? .
Is the earth even up to 7 millions years? Lie with conscience na. In the beginning, God made heaven and earth. We do not know the time frame between "in the beginning" and "let there be light." What made the earth to be "without form and void?" Was it when God threw down Lucifer and his fellow coup plotters in heaven that disfigured the earth and killed off all the dinosaurs there? Is it possible that millions of years passed before God decided to do something with the earth that was without form, and transform it into what it is today? I guess some questions can never be answered. |
