You are definitely not a Chelsea fan otherwise you would realize how crazy the market is right now and we have a very depleted squad. This signing takes care of two problem, a cover for Moses and a speedster capable of getting into the box.
He does not know his club Chelsea sold/loaned out 26 players. They have only signed 5 or so and Champions League, League Cup, FA Cup, etc are all coming. Players have to be registered for competitions as well. Too many fans just mope around and do not understand the inner workings of the game.
Nairaland GeneralRe: U.N Suspends Food Distribution As IDPs Attack Them For Giving Them Small Food by stagger: 3:01pm On Aug 28, 2017
I say let them starve.

The bible says he that does not work, let him not eat. Less than 1% of IDPs are disabled. Why are they not working? This morning, I had to pass through muddy roads and here was a car wash with three Hausa guys doing the car wash a little way out. In 15 mins, they were done with mine and off I went. At that rate, they will wash not less than 50 cars a day: N50,000 in revenue. I saluted them for their industry and for going against the grain.

Why can't the men in these IDPs leave those places and go to town to look for work? Farm work, carwash, cleaning, lawn mowing, grass cutting (with all the rain falling and causing grass to grow everywhere)? Why? Your govt refuses to resettle you or help you, officials are stealing your food donations, and then outsiders who have come to help you are attacked for helping you. What nonsense is this?

I have had cause to go to an IDP camp where I spoke to their leader. Ok, give me names of the people in this camp for my NGO associates to organize the logistics for an outreach. I later took the list and went through someone else in the camp to verify the names, only to find that the fool and his assistants compiled names of Muslims and removed the names of the Christians. I was too incensed for words. Really, playing religious politics at that level? When the fellows in the govt and national assembly are allocating the largese of this country, do they play such politics? They come together to chop together.

It is about time these IDPs are taught how to fish, for those willing to learn. Enough of this "pity me" approach.

This will be an interesting fight mc Gregor won't get hurt seriously but he might not win ..

Floyd has experience over him

If they had taken Floyd to an MAMA setting them I would be certain Floyd wouldn't last 10 minutes
Boxers have the strongest PUNCH of any combat sports. A study was done that proved this. MMA and UFC fights typically last 5 round maximum. Mayweather has fought 12 round fights with some of the best in the business: Jose Luis Castello, Marcos Maidana, Oscar de la Hoya, Shane Mosley, Miguel Cotto, Canelo Alvarez, Manuel Marquez, the Pacman, etc. You name them. All these guys were champions as well, not journeymen.

McGregor stands no chance. he is going to get himself beaten up in this fight.

Not retail bro... Talking about buying fresh cobs from the farm
Yes I know what you meant. A bag of corn is N7,000 here. Surely a bag cannot contain 1,000 pieces to be at N6 per cob, can it? That is why I also asked where in Nigeria it goes for N6 per cob at farm gate. Do you know how much fertilizer and inputs such as insecticides and herbicides cost in this part of the country?

Oga na wia you take do d farm cos as far as i know d max you can get from one hectare is 2.5
Why are you quoting me? Someone here said he did 4.7tonnes per hectare and I commented that it was quite impressive. You now come asking me where I take do d farm? Is it my farm or my harvest?

For you to still be doing 2.5 tonnes per hectare means you are still doing hoe and cutlass farming. Check your agronomy methods. Maybe your "methods are too simple" as your moniker implies.

FamilyRe: Do You Think Intertribal Marriage Should Be Encouraged? by stagger: 10:43pm On Aug 24, 2017
OrdercityWeb:
I was having a discussion with a few friends yesterday. I told them emotions aside, intertribal marriages shouldn't be ENCOURAGED.
..
Why? To preserve our culture, our identity is in our culture. I know alot of products of intertribal marriages that are torn between the question of identity.
I once read where a lady from an intertribal marriage said her mom insisted she married her own tribe as against her dad's.
In many intertribal homes there is this cultural neutrality, and many times there's a power play on the kids among the two in-laws.
Even the bible doesn't encourage intertribal marriage, remeber the instructions Abraham gave to his servant and the fact that Jesus was sent to the jews ONLY initially.
Have you wondered why the Chinese and Koreans do not marry outside their race, why do you think there is that cultural cohesion and reverence with them anywhere they go.
...
My take is INTERTRIBAL MARRIAGES SHOULDN'T BE ENCOURAGED.
What's your take? Please be factual and intelligent DO NOT APPEAL TO EMOTIONS.

**modified**
Alot of people are saying "culture evolves". Yes cultures evolve. But fundamentals like identity remains same.
Culture evolves. Identity doesn't. The fact that the Yorubas believe they descended from Oduduwa is UNIQUE TO THEM ALONE AND CAN NEVER EVER EVOLVE.
THE MOMENT IT DOES WE HAVE LOST WHO WE ARE
You are talking complete nonsense. I am a product of an intertribal marriage and I am in one presently. If not anything, we have an assortment of languages being spoken in our house, making us all appreciate the diversity of our nation called Nigeria. I can proudly say I know the culture and traditions of my parents' tribes as well as my inlaws.

I have several aunties and uncles who married from other tribes. More than 10 Nigerian languages are in my extended family.
We do not need tribalistic bigots like you!

So what are the under 35s doing? Charly Boy at 66 years had to initiate a chain of protests before your President saw it fit to come back to fix his ailing country.

Christianity EtcRe: One Hallelujah Records Will Not Partner With Secular Artistes – RCCG by stagger: 12:21pm On Aug 21, 2017
chriskosherbal:
Congratulations on this recent development..

But not all music sang by secular artist are off line, and not all secular artists have awful personality ....my opinion tho.
The distinction is very clear. Kennis Music has a policy of producing, recording or dong collabos with gospel artistes. One Halleluyah records isnot going to do any collabos with secular artistes.

This is a black and white situation and I believe we all know the difference. There are enough secular record labels in the country, but very few well-funded gospel labels.

RCCG's move is a good step in the right direction.

I don't know why it is so hard for people like you to reason.

How much money can the poor afford? WHO defines poverty as living on less than $1.26 a day. So tell me how a poor man who earns N18,000 minimum wage who can hardly eat once in 2 days can afford to pay for the construction of a world class facility.

But it is non verifiable Na.

Banks or should I say most that I know, don't accept nimc temporary slip as a valid means of identification.

NIMC should contact NIBSS instead of trying to exchange word with Sterling. I think they are speaking from the position of all banks. Compliance won't even allow the account be opened with that paper
You are wrong. There is an existing database which syncs Nigerian banks with NIMC. It is now possible to verify the NIN on the slip,as it will be merged with the customer's BVN and all the information is visible to all parties concerned.

NIMC put out a statement last week and henceforth, ANY BANK THAT REFUSES TO ACCEPT THE NIN SLIP WILL BE SANCTIONED.

Nigerians, learn to stand up for your rights.

@stagger. Thank you for this picture. My neighbour's case was much worse. 100 acres of maize. His workers even went the extra mile and used a boom sprayer to spray non-selective herbicides at around week 4 or 5 after planting. The entire farm except the few (less than 5%) plants that escaped survived. Herbicides (or any other chemical at that) needs proper knowledge. One needs to study the active ingredients and be sure (and double sure) that the chemical will not adversely affect the crops. Whenever you have a tiny doubt, spray it on one or two plants and watch the effect over few days.
Hmm! A boom sprayer!

What a colossal loss.
AgricultureRe: Maize Farmers Come In Here by stagger: 1:38pm On Aug 16, 2017
Yes, as promised, I went to my farm area and took some pics to display the effect of using a non-selctive herbicide.

A nearby farm was sprayed with non-selective herbicides, and the wind blew the mist towards some maize plants. You can see the places where contact was made with the maize leaves by the herbicides, and other maize plants that were not affected. This incident occurred due to the carelessness of the villagers doing the spraying.

So to my friend who insists on using non-selective herbicides and talking about care being taken in directing the nozzle away from the maize, I say that no hired hand (who has no financial stake in your farm project) will ever exhibit the level of care required to ensure that your maize is untouched by a non-selective herbicide. The consequences could be devastating.

If the farm is properly marked out someone experienced with spraying glyphosate can control the weed.If and a big if,the cassava and yam is mature and the glyphosate concentration is correct he can't kill it,esp if the leaves of both the mature cassava and yam are about 3 feet above the grass. If they are still very young he can't.However,I repeat, good marking of a farm is Paramount when using chemicals in farming.
I will be going to my farm tomorrow. I wish I can snap a picture of a neighbouring maize farm to show you the exact effect of attempting to use glyphosate post-emergence.

You keep mentioning someone experienced. Is it villagers who have no financial stake in your farm (and are more interested in the number of knapsacks they will spray to collect maximum money for the day) that will take the time to keep the spray nozzle as close to the ground as possible, avoiding the maize plant?

Good luck with that.
Christianity EtcRe: Abel Damina Warns Against Seed Sowing: God Doesn't Multiply Money, Hardwork Does by stagger: 2:47pm On Aug 14, 2017
Nowhere in the bible has seed sowing ever replaced the value of hard work. Seed sowing connects you to divine grace to prosper, but you have to work it out physically. Seed sowing is a complete package that involves tithing, offerings, giving to the poor, giving to parents and supporting social causes. Every Christian is expected to do all of that in a balanced manner.

Seed sowing however, connects you to Divine grace to prosper. On its own, it cannot produce wealth. Smart work which imparts value has to follow it. Those people quoting Winners here should know the effort it takes Bishop Oyedepo to write, print and publish books being sold all over the world. As someone who routinely writes more than 100,000 words in articles and research reports every month, as well as write seminar presentations and speeches for a Commissioner in my state, I can fully identify with this. It is hard work.

Even Bishop himself has once driven out someone who was praying in the church for blessing on a working day, reprimanding the person to go and get a job!

Anyone who sows seed and relaxes thinking that God is a money doubler or a counterfeiter who will rain Naira notes from heaven for any seed sown is just deceiving himself or herself.

Sow your seed, then get out there and work.
