This fellow who says he has an oil well for sale is a first class fraudster. Which country's president allocated one to you?

Banks are a terrible rip off. To do foreign transfers in GTB, they charge you a dollar fee + telex charge (N2,000) + so-called offshore fee (another $30 or more).

At the end of the day, you are paying almost 10% of your money in bank charges. What a rip-off!

As for this rising dollar, I just don't understand. It is not just that the dollar is rising. The spread is increasing too. It used to be N2. Now it is up to N4 in some places. What is really going on?

Let me be honest with you. YOU CANNOT OPEN A US ACCOUNT AS A NON-RESIDENT, ESPECIALLY AS A NIGERIAN. This is one of the provisions of the Patriot Act that came into effect after the Sept 11, 2001 bombings as a measure to track all funds in US banks to make sure that none of those come from foreigners who have terrorist ties.

So just forget about it.

Rather, I will advise you to open a Swiss bank account. I have the complete account opening kit. It cost only N8,000 and this account comes with an ATM card that will work in Nigeria.

I have one and that is why I am talking with confidence about this.

I have noted your comments, which I will address one by one.

As with anything in Nigeria, only those who do not know the way around the system suffer the fate of queuing for up to a month. Indeed, those who operate without licenses and without proper supply arrangements with their dealing companies suffer this fate. I have guys in NUPENG and in two companies I deal with. So I cannot suffer such fate.

This is also what happens in contract awards. Attend a typical contract bid. You see lots of people attending from several companies hoping to get a piece of Federal millions. But the guys with the connections are the ones who get the whole deal. The contracts awards are pre-decided even before they are made public.

So when you start talking of people queuing for one month, this is Nigeria. You know it. There are outsiders, there are insiders. As an insider, I tell you what obtains. Then when you want to get into a particular petroleum business, I can give contacts for those who want it.

Problem is that I receive a lot of requests from several persons. Some I actually go out of my way to call to find out how they are doing. Many do not reply, do not answer their phones, or just are not even ready to start their business.

It is only a few persons whom I have earmarked to assist because they have business on ground, have spoken with me several times and I am presently trying to package things to assist them when I am done with some projects I have.

Let me also state here that I do not ask people to bring money for me to manage business for them. I do not have the time, and it is also not my modus operandi. I believe in people learning how to fish. That way, they will get empowered. They can ask questions, they can make some mistakes, learn from the mistakes, and then progress from them.

As for the person I asked to stop following me around, maybe you need to check out the posts in the Business to Business section this person has made, scandalizing me for no reason. If you are conversant with how contracts work, you should know that the person to whom it will be awarded is already a decided deal. I move among such people so i know. Who wants to waste N50000 when it can be put to better use? I have a friend who just won a multi billion Naira contract with the Fed govt. D connection came from the highest source. D bidding fee alone was N250,000. Shoe get size o, my brother.

Fraudsters only operate and succeed in an atmosphere of greed. When people cannot take time to learn about a business or a venture, but prefer to turn their money over to people who promise them unrealistic returns, who do you think should take the blame when something goes wrong?

My driving force has always been that if I want to make money from a certain angle, I would take the pains to learn all about how that system works. But people in our country are too greedy and are not patient. They want to make money from a system they know nothing about. They want to make money they did not work for. Money they made not intellectual or physical input to acquire.

Any wonder why they are always taken to the cleaners?
