lol…my boss sir. We are living an open and responsible life but he is getting unnecessarily derogatory and needs to be checked RodgersAkpafu: |
A reminder; to emigrate to a society requires that one is fully ready to be integrated into that society’s ground rules. You can find a way to live your home culture as far as you don’t “force” it on them or harm them. Where you go in and expect to “immediately” import and establish your home culture, you will be having a very hard time, especially as the society never called for you but you decided to apply to be granted permit. So respect ground rules there. This is a given and a just way to live in a new society. I’m afraid this is not your case. You r discrediting nations that have worked to earned their place in the committee of nations. Amazingly you are still at the same place/nation that you are alluding their success to arm twisting. Recall this is not even the discourse. One thing is clear, the discourse is, they are ahead of 9ja like the distance btw earth and her closest planet in terms of basic amenities, justice and quality of life. Are these too much to have established here since 1960-2024 of Naija existence? Moreover All these are zero back here in our Naija for now and even in a very very long time to come, no one is even coming to save us. So, sir, kindly stay back, appreciate the opportunities in your current country of residence, maximizing all possibilities and achieve your goals in life(remove “I want to hammer” and I will “pepper them” mentality and pursuits….these are what lead to disappointment and frustration like you have expressed in all your responses…it became too obvious by each of your responses that you went with “I want to hammer” mindset . Focus on achieving whatever beautiful goals you have planned to achieve in your new found nation and ensure no one is hurt or k1lled while at it. Marjoribanks: |
The joke is on you sir! no one is praising any country against Naija, but you know the realities but you chose to be insentitive and bad-mouthing all aim to discourage others from trying to get out of this "sh*t hole". You lie, sir! People will move as they find okay out of here, your minions cant stop that! Obvioulsy you are a "street boy" over there. You do "work that they cant do" ...that is what you are all about, now you have turned a cry cry baby.. feeling bad. Check all that you stated, imagine that someone has all all this info and still living there, slaving away? Why the delusion...to what end for you? It is the likes of you who have travelled with aim on "picking money" from trees and being disappointed as you have to work to earn a living compared to "money miss road" mentality and shenanigans here. The likes will shout on top of their head that they dont want to pay tax because they feel it is too much instead of focuing on how to get more skill to command improve pay. Come back to your "rich cultrure" and let the "slaves" enjoy their slavery. you lie too much and it is not healthy for you. Come back to roast here and then you will value the "slavery" than the "rich culture" of injustice and lack of basic amenities. . Marjoribanks: |
All these and you are still there? Run back baba to enjoy the good opposites that you are raising now. Stop the jokes Marjoribanks: |
I am thinking you juwant to complain only, not ready to seek solutions. If you have increase income, you will pay your bills and have more savings if you manage your expenses. Get a boost to your skills set to command more income and diversify your income into other incomes streams and be happy. If you’re on a job or business that has low patronage or not a “high priority “ list, consider other options to get improvements to become sought after to beat the competition in the “unemployment”, What is unrealistic in this approach ? femi4: |
Not sure why you decided to go south after reading a clearly worded statements. I mean is lawlessness a good culture? celebrating a gov who built a thing with our tax money a good culture? Is “pepper them” mentality and behavior a good culture? Blocking public roads because of an event, a good culture? Not been accountable as an elected leader, a good culture? Been randomly picked by police as an accomplice or because you are just around a situation-ship and you must part with money unreceipted or go jail that the individual will “rotten”, a good culture? Been scared to report a bad behavior or even assist a victim of road accident so that no one tags you as the cause, a good culture? Is praying for safe roads trip a good culture? The loud noise by people at worships places, a good culture? Is producing food and other items with full knowledge that they are substandard and could kill the consumers a good culture? Abetting and aiding evil people and leaders, a good culture? Arbitrariness with prices, policies, et el, a good culture? Carrying everything on one’s head all in the name of religion but to only discover that you were been f00lish when you have only spent a week in saner countries, a good culture? You need more reminders?as you are feigning knowledge of what we are going through here in this 9ja Marjoribanks: |
Baba, things have caput! No one is coming to save us! No end in sight! Start preparing now. I was in your shoes 13years ago, now, never gonna look back. All the lights are now at the end of the tunnel o…wicked leaders and people are doing us shege now o. They moved the light away from the paths for us to be groping in the dark, not sure we will see that light in our lifetime, say in the next 50years o I am very very unhappy with the level of lawlessness here Jeezuzpick: |
“Highly unlikely “ bro. You too much abeg. Mentality is worth emulating as an addition to my hate for substandard life and dealings here. Imagine one person praying not to have accident or praying for NEPA or not to be cornered by kidnappers. It is hellish and I do so don’t believe or know how we became this bad and no end in sight RodgersAkpafu: |
May you be specially blessed! Not seen this mindset in recent times. Why will anyone japa and be thinking it is all about making money? Money will be made if you have skills and work hard as wel. But sanity and tested improved lifestyle cum expectancy is the Koko Angelfrost: |
Epic! Hahahahahaha The guy don’t know whata gwan! 1.2M per month is a big money for him in this devalued economy delkuf: |
laughed hard at you! So because he is earning 1.2million, he shouldn’t leave for this evil leaders that have become unfortunate ba? You didn’t mention his line of profession bros. Did you know what 1million will do for you?in todays Naija, the devaluation. Can you compare sanity, clean air, facilities, and a lot of opportunities you will experience if you go in without the mentality of “I want to make it in life”?. We care too much about age in this country when it comes to taking responsibility for your wellbeing. Btw, his wife is even there NPFLADMIN: |

Pay bills andbe happy. Plan on how to increase yourincome. You and i will continue to pay bills. It's maximising our expenses and seeking to increase income that's the way forward. Bills mostlyappear too much when income isnt meeting basics or living equal to or above income sir. femi4: |
Hi Tunlex. I am wondering if the below is pacific to this occupation or general. For instance, ACS(Computer Society) stated two evidenc(s) require for employees assessment, that is, one from employer and one from employee such as payslips, bank statement, insurance/tax. They stressed that any other docs such as offer letter, reference letters and/or any other not stated as requisite will cause delay in responding. Could you share your thoughts?pls N.B: the efing ACS is increasing assessment fee from 560 to 1450 from 28th March. With a caveat that one can expect response in 15days(as against current 8-10weeks), be assessed for 3 ansze codes. 560AUD is like 378USD=603,000 naira, so imagine what 1450AUD would be, so anyone thinking or planning on this should hurry up o lol; they extended the earlier planned switch from 13th March to 28th March…so 4days to go! “ Documents for Employee Employment letter: Yes or No Payslips: Yes or No Bank statement showing salary: Yes or No Pension statement: Yes or No Personal Tax statement: Yes or No Can you get a reference letter? Yes or No Do you have these documents for all your employment episodes?” tunlex01: |
Omo, congratulations plenty. This is a lot of perseverance o Bodacious1: |
Water, electricity, gas, refuse dumping (council tax should be covering), etc are man by workers and they also purchase various materials to deliver the services. Why would some be angry that he is been charged for them? Or do you wish it is subsidized? I’m not clear why water, insurance, parking bill, tv license, council tax are useless in the diaspora; I mean these collections are done and utilized. Note, my point is not about the items(tax items) in themselves but that when paid, as a citizen you will get value. Why won’t I gladly pay for them? Why should I call them useless? These “useless” bills are enacted, so you have an input to make in the process of the legislation, so if you don’t know and it is passed, you don’t call them “useless” because they have a well thought aim albeit it may not be “right” in a couple of people’s judgement and Moreso may not be the absolute best option but it is what is attainable; don’t forget enactment are “living” docs implying they can be repealed or otherwise. Just to remind you, Of course, these taxes and licenses are here in Naija too or you don’t know that bus drivers pay radio license across all states of the federation? When I pay for a services, I have a right to question its quality etc. None of these things are free in Naija; the free-thing mentality by way of reckless life(dodging bills or by-pass by electricity users) without consequences are some of the things that have somehow become culturally wrong with us a a people and this is a bane of development that have held out balls to still be classified as “undeveloped”. We are not ready with the way most of us don’t want to pay for service but want the government to “spoon feed” us; no doubt about purchasing powers exacerbated by all the reasons that we all know. We know these ills but we get angry that there is no difference when we are not ready to align our basic cultural deficits. Bro, pay bills and continue seeing value, or come back to this our reckless society so that you won’t pay bills n be seeing shege pro max lol femi4: |
Haba baba! Not flimsy wood abeg. There are some high standards that you easily count misalignment and of course a charge against such a person for doing substandard. Woods as choice for building some houses is in the best case possible for the context. No one wakes up and just do things without considering repercussions compared to us over here. And we have many good heart and human centered culture where man consider their impact in the now and future about an act. So people are highly educated about choices and there are consequences too(this is the beautiful part for me….if you do nonsense and you are caught, you will pay for it and deterrence is held up) planetx: |
What doesn’t make sense baba? This who can’t afford have got some social insurance where they are paid a stipend pending when they get jobs. It hurts so bad to be paying heavy tax here and not seeing the results. I will go to where I will see results and gladly pay. I will consider how to mange my expenses instead of bothering about the tax that I know very well gives me all the basics of life….that I don’t have to fast and pray before I travel along Ibadan or Kano or Yola express roads, don’t need no one coming to tel me about sin or preaching repentance to me over what they are not even free from, etc I love the idea of co-habitation and communal harmony achieved via tax. Very interestingly I have right and listening ears to pour my minds where I find a misuse or misappropriation. Naija is such a place u won’t think twice to leave. Whoever feels he wants to stay back should continue and never preach to anyone who is seeking to leave the country. If the one staying back is so convinced of his decision about improving the country, kindly go head to do it and let us that may succeed to leave come back. But at this rate, all man for himself. Note, my quest isn’t to go make it big at another country but just to have basics met, that is my goal. I know if I work hard, I will see results femi4: |
We tend to underrate good life and this is why we live the way we are in this country Naija. We don’t have a minimum acceptable and thus the leaders are unmoved to do something really “awesome”. What I will love to see happen is a legislative framework for holding leaders accountable; Naija don’t ask questions or account from leaders, so they always get away with it. Now to the main discourse, the suspension will help address the required pressure on the roads thus eliminating or reducing pot holes. Do you think it will cost more to have this over Lagos waters than the current blue rail?assuming there a sincerity in costing? santaclaws: |
It was an engineering marvel. So comfy and nothing to worry about. Boarding and highlighting at the platforms were superb just like using tram. On top of my head, I mean, a lot went into it such as fibrration and balancing of the beam that it is hung and slides on. But it is a very beautiful experience at Wuppertal, the city of suspended monotrain. God1000: |
This is not a fanciful thingy. I used it in Wuppertal and then I realized our leaders are indeed short sighted and evil at best. santaclaws: |
If he’ll exist, isn’t it meant for some type of people? Do you want the creator of hell to regret his efforts? What is even wrong with you comrade? lol Enemyofpeace: |
Comrade, abeg leave am for us. We like it like that. No come again abeg lol Antihypocrite: |
You pay and get the value. Don’t you pay tax here, direct and indirect? Are you joking? Don’t you buy prepaid electricity and no supply for u to use it? How about water supply, motorable roads, security and safety? It is like our lawless country has really dealt with us that we see all these ills as normal and we should continue to suffer/smile femi4: |
Tell me you r joking! You forgot lawlessness pervades the land here and as such no quality guaranteed? What are you buying that you won’t face a high level of counterfeit? De play Persephone1: |
What is good paying job?in our country please. even if you earn so comfortably, you would see reasons to regret being in this country as you drive the roads, until one of family members is kidnapped, or fall ill, or you are robbed, how do you survive in midst of hungry and frustrated fellow citizens, etc Moreso, when one visits other working countries, it would glaring that in the next 50-100 years, Nigeria can’t develop to 1/4 of those countries. It is sad thing! Nevverio: |
Leave op to be yarning dust and telling people how they should live their lives. How can a “rich” guy go to where he would be asked to account for his wealth directly and indirectly? They don’t care and they are lawless and no consequences for bad behaviors, so they would rather stay back and visit and return because they can’t truly work their wealth. We care too much about age in this country and that is why unnecessary pride and resultant penury is dealing a lot a blow. Wealthy?who are the “saintly” wealthy in Nigeria if not “money miss road” or “some cheats” or “some lawless lots who loot and perpetuate and reshare the loot”. Everything is enough to go start all over where there is health care…appendicitis won’t kill you, women don’t cheaply die during birthing, you won’t bother about power supply not internet connection but about how to control your consumption of same, relative security of life and properties, value for lives…human and animals, law and order to a substantial extent, nearly round peg in a round hole in govt systems, government with a listening ear and adopting same is relatively high, elections are issue based and not careless and wanton killings and intimidation, no lawless drivers, no Keke and Okada and even the Mumu Uju as minister who has the effrontery to spend wantonly on useless Keke as an empowerment for women…in this age of industrialization and automation and countless crafts to truly have economy value and to the society and tax system, no bad roads, Christians and moslems looking for miracle’s and juju men flourishing because we don’t have basics of life…if you check what these sets offer they are actually never far from basics of life that working countries have settled for their nationals…if these people get to working countries they would have no one to patronize them, arts and crafts have a good playing ground for anyone to thrive, etc. You can only be scared or cower to this your advice if you are the “get rich quick type” or I want to go to the abroad to build mansions and estates in my village or back home. This your talk is 0 over %1000…shift abeg with this, guy ednut1: |
lol…please stop this joke. You seemed to forget the high(est) level of lawlessness here implying zero standards or nothing to write home about. Woods houses are standardized and tested to serve/fit for purpose. Don’t let us start with owners supervising and “managing” materials and/or regulators never visiting and/or looking south if they eventually visit. I mean, we have a lot that you know about on the lawlessness and “justice” procure(ment) by highest bidders. Standards are a thing here! The gap is like from here to the heavens lol planetx: |
He is definitely aware of this and even more. Yes his rent would consume that money by 50%, say, but he would get true value such as (available) electricity, gas, clean air, clean agri produce(to a great extent), water, relative security while in his home(not riotous and disoriented fools easily marauding neighborhood or streets and no law enforcement would easily bring them to order), greatly comported drivers with regards for human life, govt can be questioned and you won’t be easily killed for asking questions on how resources/taxes are spent, and importantly a house built with standard materials and maintenance is assured compared to some shitty houses down here in Nigeria. All he needs is education on how to save/manage his expenses on gas, electricity, food and et all. Note that I am not against your point, but I think we should be objective is sharing our thoughts with aim of laying all things bare for him to be guided Goddeywithme: |
Just imagine what you are saying “he is 8x likely to get shot in US than in Nigeria” yet 8 out of 100 don’t drop dead daily ba? You don’t know what this country truly holds today, say for someone who use to buy 70liters at 15600 to be paying for 43190; no change in sight with income o. No way to change job easily o. No side hussle o, everyone is always looking at you with some bombastic side eyes that you r succeeding or even making efforts to become a better version of your self, let me not start with the “sick” religion mindset that have turned many into “miracle” seekers instead of resourceful countrymen…even politicians that have made life look like you either “belong” to o their class or die, injustice everywhere even in small things of life. Omo, this country is heading downhill so so far and unnoticed to many because they have become used to abnormalities that have become order of the day. Now, I would think the friend advices him on what he’d do to fare better when he arrives instead of putting them up as reasons he’d not come at all. So op, learn some survival skills such driving of tractors(aka agri farm machine operation), barbing, joinery, etc. Give yourself a time to get good on any of these or others. Don’t let your age bother you, we disturb ourselves too much with age in this country and we are never better for it as it causes unnecessary pride with resultant effects such as penury and “suffering and smiling” because “my age people don’t do this and that”. Please plan yourself and go out. Ensure your mindset is focus on “securing a life with basics of life, security and safety”. Don’t go with “get rich quick, I want to build houses in my village, people must know that I am in the abroad, what would my mate say/see in the next years to come”. Don’t put yourself under pressure that don’t translate to true value for your life, don’t live for others opinions, Stay focus on yourself and your immediate family for a starter. All the best ahead, Offpointng: |

. So I had to resort to extraordinary measures. Luckily, the senior colleague who provided me with a statutory declaration has a heavy internet footprint that proved he was a staff of my organisation at the time so I provided web pages, website links and even a screenshot of his email account on our official outlook that also showed the current date at the time. I also prayed and believed God for favour.
