YOU NEED HELP FROM WELL MEANING NIGERIANS AND MEDICATION FROM PSYCHIATRIST

Politics › Re: Why Do SW/SS Region Receive The Highest Revenue Allocation From FG by Standing5(m): 11:10am On May 29, 2016 |
SW huge allocationis Because of population it caters for. You don't want the FG to send money to the east or north when their people are in Lagos and Ibadan. They go to SW hospitals, drive on and wear out SW roads and have their children taught by SW-paid teachers 90% of the time. As for SS, they provide all the money the lazy Northerners spend by sacrificing their land for oil exploration and are compensated by a meagre 13% of oil proceeds. |

Until we tilt our system towards true federalism, Governors will keep putting pressure on the National purse and loot. Oil isn't drying up in El rufai's backyard so he can afford to borrow into the next 20 years and have oil windfall service the bulk of the depth. If every state was made to get allocation proportional to its IGR, then the state govt will be motivated to increase their IGR to get more money back. I suggest all states get 70% of their IGR back to motivate them to leave the centre alone. Imagine this reward system in place, Osun state wouldn't embark on Free Food and Money schemes without demanding productivity from its 50% ghost workforce. |

tit: if paid normally, dangote's taxes would be used to provide services all over the nation.
with this arrangement, only the residents of the project area benefit directly from government expenditure of tax revenue. i hope the egg heads who approved this deal are also taking steps to redress the lopsided expenditure. If he had paid tax it would first gone into federation's purse, then assigned to specific project it part of it does get padded into constituency 'virtual' projects. This process is open to corruption more than if the lets him fix it to standard that permits frequent cement truck usage. |

Anyone who thinks crude price stability at $100+ is their right can take out an insurance policy on it. State like Osun under Aregbe will always exist as long as the resource comes from the minority groups who can't change things alone. He has spent 90% allocation of the next governor just by managing the states finance the way he did. He saw the money as free money. |
