For a while now, I have been thinking of the right pets to get after the demise of Stella, Rubbie & Jumia my cats. After much deliberation, I decided pending the time I get another cat (I have come to the realisation that I can't do without at least two cats in the house), let me get myself Guinea fowl keets as pets. Luckily for me, scouting for them wasn't much of a problem. 4 keets where bought and quickly settled into their new home.

Immediately I set my eyes on them, I loved them straightaway. Wifey also fell in love with them and I gave her the honour of naming them, and named them she did; Kara, Sylvester, Rodrigo and Kojo. (Only God knows where those names came from )

Ask these people that can pump water out of fish ponds to help you apply LIME to the pond. They know the quantity to apply. After about a week, ask them to pump out water where they added LIME again (some people will tell you it is not necessary to pump water out again because as water increases in the pond, the water will dilute the lime so that it won't affect your fish. But I once saw where the lime was not diluted and it killed all fishes).

Use net to cover the pond appropriately to avoid frog and any other predators from entering your pond.

If water is flowing from nearby pond to your pond, seal it because diseases can pass from a pond to another.

Ensure you get your fingerlings or juveniles from a reputable supplier.

For prevention of diseases, add 5kg of salt to the pond every 30 days. If your pond water turns black or is smelling, stop feeding for about 2 days and give half of what can satisfy them until your water becomes normal. You will get this kind of salt from feedmills. It is cheap, not pure iodised salts o.

Mix fishmycin drug to your fish feed to prevent diseases. If you are using floating feeds, add 2g (gramme) to 1kg of feed. Let say you are going to the pond this morning, measure the kg you want to give and mix drug, not that you will add drugs to what they will finish in a week today. If it is pellets you buy from feed Mills, you can also add drugs every morning, but if the feed is made by you, you will add the whole drug at once the day you make it(I will show how to make your own feed). To add drugs to floating feed or pellets you buy from feed Mills, add small water to your feed to make it wet so that powdery drug can stick to it when you mix. Add 2g of fishmycin to 1kg of feed. A sachet of fishmycin is 100g. To measure 2g, divide a sachet into 10. Each portion has 10g. Divide a portion from the 10portions into 5 again, each portion here has 2g. It's rare to get a scale that can measure in grammes. It's advisable you buy juveniles instead of fingerlings because you are just starting and it's not easy to know how to feed fingerlings if you are a new comer. We use SINKER feed for fingerlings. Use 2mm of floating feed for juveniles for about a month. 2mm floating feeds are usually costly especially if you buy imported ones like Alleraqua brand. Nigerian brands are cheap like 3k difference or more, but imported ones are certified quality which will show on rapid growth of your fish.
Use 4mm of floating feed for about a week. Your fish must have grown to be able to pick 4mm pelletized feed.

It's advisable you make your own feed to ensure profit. I will give you formula to use. There are some feed Mills that will do pelletizing for you once you take your ingredients there. You just buy ingredients at accurate quantity you want and take it there. If there is anyone to be grinded, they will grind it, mix it, and pelletize it for you.

Pellets are also sinkers. So when using pellets, you must be careful not to overfeed the fish or leave uneaten feed in the pond. Uneaten feed will pollute your pond water because they will break down. It's you ask someone to show you how to give pellets and floats to the fish in the pond. An experienced person must physically show you how it is done.

Don't use chemicals to kill weeds around your pond. Use cutlasses to cut weeds around your pond because little spray may get into the pond and rain can wash herbicides from weeds into the pond. Some people spray weeds with herbicides and it doesn't affect their catfish, but some did it and it affected their catfish.

During harvesting, buyers will try to dupe you. Ensure a trusted person that knows about catfish sales is there.

I have an issue that has been on my mind for weeks now. My fiancé and I have been dating for over three years. I love him and he loves me too. We are physically attracted to each other. We’re both catholic but since I graduated, during my service year I gave my life to Christ, got saved and left the Catholic Church. So I’ve been a Pentecostal Christian since then. He on the other hand is still catholic. I think about my spiritual life and how lukewarm he is about the things of God, I think about kids and how we’ll raise the, with such differing views about God and I’m discouraged. I feel like I’m settling because he checks all the boxes on the checklist of physical attributes. Another mistake I made is, I didn’t pray about this decision and that worries me because anything that involves him,I just act with pausing to ask God, but I always ask God about other aspects of my life. Hi Good People On Nairaland. My name is Davindal. I am a 29 years old ex Nigerian soldier but now an IT Expert. I got married on September 2019 to my beautiful wife.

It all started on March 2019, 6 months after I voluntarily discharged from the Nigerian Army due to serious injuries - though I am well and currently fit.

Hmm... I contemplated inwardly what the problem was...how could this fine girl be needing help from an ex-soldier that equally needs help so as to fix thing up. These thoughts and more roamed aggressively on my mind.

Then, I asked her what the problem was, and she told me that she is a first year student of UNN. that she lost her ATM card and hard nothing on her to buy anything basically food. She pleaded that I should just buy her food for the night.

I searched my wallet, and found only N150. Guy man don spend all the N35000 (money) wey him carry commit around 6:00 PM to go flex some bottles and also buying drinks for a few homies. Whereas, in my area 2019 a plate of food was from N300 to N400 then.

I asked her not to worry, that despite the fact I had no enough money on me that I would still buy her food. She was all smiles.

As an area, I took her to a restaurant at a distance of a pole away from where we were standing and bought her a plate of food worth N400 due to the two pieces of meat in it, and a bottle of malt. I met the madam who runs the restaurant who happens know me quite well, and promised to come pay them tomorrow.

She obliged and was even hailing me "Awua! the Awua rugged!!" maybe because of the fine babe. However, we left that restaurant around 10:15 PM.

When we got out of the restaurant she said, the gate keeper to her lodge might have locked the entrance gate. That she would need to talk to a few of her lodge mate to inform them that she was locked outside so the could call come beckon on the gatekeeper to come open the gate but the problem was zero airtime.

I said no qualms, I transferred N200 airtime to her mobile phone from my GTB account. Before me, she placed a call to a close lodge mate who then rushed to her request. We exchanged contact and she left.

Thereafter, we keep talking over the phone periodically, but I noticed she was becoming more attached, and was calling me endearing names. Contrary to her advances, I was in a relationship with another lady (who is currently my wife) before that encounter, and I didn't want to cheat.

However, I lost my phone on June 2019 hence all the contact on it. When I bought a new phone 2 days later and welcomed back my sim I have to copy a few numbers from my diary into my new phone, hence lost her number.

I moved on, even though I was not eying her for a relationship but she called one day again and we started talking again. On September 2019, I married my wife traditionally without telling this babe about it.

Shockingly, I bumped into this babe in PortHarcourt, on 15 December, 2019... didn't quite know she was the one for the only time I met her was in the night, and it was around my area at Nsukka.

When I came back, to my hotel room, I was confused for I remembered, I never told her my name, not even in the night I met her, not to talk about getting married. I Couldn't phatom how she new about these things.

Please note: I have a one year 5 months old son now, and my wife is currently pregnant.

Fast forward to this year 2021, though ever since I bumped into her in PortHarcourt on Dec. 2019 we have been talking over the phone and via WhatsApp media.

In one of my conversations with her she jokingly told me that she has a key to my stars, and that she loves me dearly and would do anything for my sake even though I am married.

Then I summoned courage to ask her how she came to that conclusion, and she said she would tell me when we meet. She asked to see me privately, I told her that I am on a contract job in Abuja, that I would be back to Enugu State in a month's time.

I later came on April 2, 2021, sneakingly met and slept with her on 15th of April in a hotel. We had a nice time. She confessed how she loves me genuinely. In that hotel, though I paid for the room before I hinted her of the location.

During our intimacy time, she ordered and paid for all we ate and drank. When she was freshening up in the bathroom, as a security conscious person I checked her bag, and discovered stash of 500 naira notes, almost up to #45000. Finally, I made it to Enugu where I am based alone. She wanted to come see me yesterday 5th, 2021 from UNN but I threw up an excuse because people know my wife very well. My wife is also a student of UNN, Economics Dept., and she visits weekends from Nsukka. I didn't want to insult her absence.

Why I am Scared

Yesterday, Ruth called me from UNN raging in anger that I don't know whom she is. That in case I don't know that she is a Goddess of wealth in the spiritual realm, and she posses supernatural power to ease of my life that I should know it now.

The moment I heard 'Goddess' cold shiver ran down my spine. Then I asked her to explain what she meant by calling herself a Goddess. She said that as a child long before she came in contact with me that she new me, that the injury I sustained in the military was pre-planned by my God to save me from untimely death. (I never told her I was in the military)

She went on to say, that although I seem successful in the myopic eyes of people. In furtherance, that I am suppose to be balling in higher level of wealth and money than I am currently balling because I am using only 1 star out of the seven higher stars I came into this world with. She said that she would be revealing her parents' identities to me later on.

I told her that she never answered my question on being a Goddess, and she said she is a Goddess of wealth. That she has a gift which makes it possible that anyone she loved and blesses automatically see a brighter future, and fortune. That in my own case that she was assigned to me spiritually to make me stupendously rich such that I can help the less privileged in the world for I am kind hearted young man would doesn't abuse privileges particularly when in the military.

This babe, 22 years old, equally reminded me that she had more than #10000 in her purse that night she came for me...that it was a trap to get in contact with my destiny.

Then, I became even more scared even through I was sounding firm and assertive. How she knew I was afraid got me scarier. She beckoned on me not to be afraid that she is a beautiful soul but also a supernatural person, and a Goddess who has been sent by almighty God to open my way properly. That she would bless me whenever I am ready to see her.

She reminded me to observe how things have been changing for good in my life ever since I met her, and Even more after our intimacy.

I reminded her that it would be some how to marry her a second wife, but she said she doesn't care that all she wants is to be with me that she would easily get along with her supposed co wife. She said she has her on money which is equally mine for an even more happy home. My wife is 23.

Please, who has experienced this for I don't know if she is a ghost or human?

It's been 4years since I left secondary school and I find it difficult to find love after dating this particular guy(Xxxx) in SS3 like it's hell tormenting. I reached out I got his number finally but to respond to texts he takes alot of time I keep calling, bugging, disturbing, everything possible just for him to come online. We text and everytime I feel crazily happy anytime he calls like my Euphoria levels are freaking high, I do sleep well, good dreams, I pray for him always I still love this guy deeply. I'm from a yoruba background like family and stuffs but even my sisters dig the guy. His parents are weathly very notable people in Nigeria but very reserved especially he's dad. My dad works in an oil company but not really bothered about that.


They were time he's won't respond to my text for weeks I got worried I had to see my therapist. About two days I went to pay him a visit in amsterdam we met up and shit went down. We got in the room and stuffs I stripped down and he stared at me, told me to wear up my clothes. Like he's level of discipline is scary like I'm depressed tbh


We broke up due to the fact he's was traveling out now he's has gone back to hardly replying my texts and calls. I still love and I want him desperately please help. We spoke he told me to move on but it's been hard. I have been having dreams of me getting married and still leaving my hubby to just be with him. Please help

Seasons greetings fellow nairalanders, I have come to seek solution for a problem that wants to lead me to depression.

My story goes this way;
When I was in primary school, what was reigning among the parents in my school then was encouraging their wards to stop at primary 5 and jump to secondary school. And that exactly was my case (I jumped primary 6 to secondary school) which made me not to write the First School leaving Certificate (FSLC) exam.

During our WAEC registeration in SS3 was when I told our counsellor about it (that I didn't sit for FSLC exam) and she shouted and encouraged me to go to a nearby primary school and register for it.
My mum and I did as the counselor instructed and registered for the FSLC exam the same year I registered for my WAEC. The headmaster argued that I'm too old to write the exam thus my younger sister wrote it for me.

Now I'm a University graduate (completed my Nysc).
A family friend gave me a replacement slot in one federal parastal and when I submitted my credentials to her, she noticed that my FSLC and waec are of the same date. She complained about it and told me that I may encounter problem on the way (ie that the recruitment may not be successful or that I may have issues in future even if I'm finally recruited. I was depressed after hearing that.

So I came here to seek for advice and clarification from people that are already in the system. PLEASE HOW CAN I ESCAPE BEING SCREENED OUT EITHER NOW OR WHEN I'M FINALLY EMPLOYED?

In the meantime, just remove the FSLC and submit the others....
Then go back to your primary school and they would sift through their records and if you are fortunate enough,something can be arranged for you.

I know we have super rich people here who rose from poverty to riches.
This life isn't balance. Done with school. Been working as security administrator in my church and I earn 80k. I have beenplanning on getting married. Have met my fiance Parents, they were happy. I have engaged her she is happy. All of a sudden the elder brother who isn't around is angry that I haven't spoken to him about my intention. I am fed up. Have suspended everything now. I have tried everything since I left school last year to improve my income. Apply for jobs here and there. Is just not cutting in.
Please, share your experience on how you were able to get out of this average life as a Nigerian. Advise me and others still struggling to rise up.

Have some certification in Leadership and human resource. Trust me, I can deliver on anything legal. I have the capacity, but haven't gotten the opportunity.
