Black coaches doing the most in these playoffs. No wonder everybody wants to hire a black coach now cheesy

As for Doc Rivers, such a disappointment. Your record was already atrocious going into these playoffs, but you found a way to do more. Terrible coaching. Can't even make in-game adjustments, neither can he make from game to game. After this job, any championship team hiring him is doing so at their own peril.

The highlight of the night for me has to be Pat Bev getting ejected. Man had been talking smack all game, but when he received a little of his own medicine he couldn't take it. Lovely scenes grin

ya know! If it was Lebron that missed the jumper Durant airballed, HEI!!! This thread for collapse grin grin grin

3 years ago, folks were already calling Giannis the next Lebron. Then it was supposed to be Kawhi. Then Durant. Tomorrow someone will say its Luka cheesy. See, its one thing to be able to drop 40. Its another thing to drop 40 when the defense is designed to stop YOU. And its another thing to will your team to a win with defense, steals, rebounding and bball IQ when your shot isnt falling.

That is why after MJ, it was Kobe, then Lebron. No one else has fulfilled this criteria of current best player among current superstars. It should be Kawhi, but he is turning to Mr Glass, getting what I feel is bad advice from his camp. He never even tries to play through anything. AD sef fall my hand.
Well said.
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 10:45am On Jun 30, 2021
Did someone in this thread just say that KD guarded Giannis the whole series? grin Like the KD we all watched? KD that was doing absolutely nothing on defense. KD that was busy standing under the rim on defense waiting to grab rebounds because he could afford to give P.J some space because he was always stationed on the corner. Hian. After dem go talk say people no dey watch the games. The people that guarded Giannis the most in that series were Blake and Green. Even Harden and Brown guarded Giannis more than KD.

I actually told someone here to sit down and just watch. I have said and I am saying it again, the unpredictability of this playoffs is very obvious. PG, please do not tell me your demons are tinkering with your free throw shooting now. grin. Factory settings loading. But you never know, this might not just end up being a 7 game-series. You knew, now you don't.
@steady386, Kobe had several terrible playoff nights too, so cut Booker some slack. If he was being compared to Kobe it's definitely not with respect to his defense. cheesy. And stop behaving like a novice, we all know the American media exaggerates. They are always cooking up stories. Oh he was mentored by Kobe, so that must be the mamba mentality showing. Well they may actually be getting paid to do that.
Lol. For real man, the only thing Kobe and Book have in common is the mid-range game. Apart from that, nothing else.
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 4:16am On Jun 27, 2021
Jae Crowder is such a terrible basketballer. angry
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 4:05am On Jun 27, 2021
So this is the Booker Stephen A. said is the next Kobe? It's amazing how we just think scoring is the only important thing in basketball. What about mentality? What about defense? What about IQ? What about playmaking?

Hopefully they sweep the clippers and then get swept by the Bucks. Cant root for the suns or that dirty bum CP3 to win anything.
Hehehe grin They would struggle against the Bucks, just like they would have struggled against the Lakers if AD was healthy. Who guards Giannis? Crowder? grin. Abi na Cam Johnson. If they dare put Ayton on Giannis, not only would Lopez have a field day, Ayton would enter foul trouble by second quarter.

Thats how you were bracing for Nets 76ers semi finals grin Anything can happen, especially with teams that have shooters that can launch logo 3s. Bucks need to be very controlled and disciplined.
Nets/Sixers ke. I always thought the Bucks had a chance against the Nets, injury or no injury.

The Clippers honestly can't do this without Kawhi. What else do they need to win? They outshot the Suns about 13-6 from 3. Attempted 6 more free throws even though they shot way fewer shots in the paint, matched them for turnovers (8 to 9), plus Booker shot poorly. Now you have CP coming back. They really can't look to anything to hang their hopes on. Nothing I mentioned here can get much better; it will only get worse or stay the same. The 3 point discrepancy can't get much better, same with the free throws. They can't get much better than only 8 turnovers. Booker will probably not play this bad again. CP is returning. Omo, this series is ending 4-1 at most.

Sweep for where ..... The last person the Clippers need to figure out is Deandre ayton ... it is going to be 7 game series grin
Lol, when they've not even tasted CP3 at all. Now their game plan changes entirely, and they're in game 3 already.
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 11:20am On Jun 23, 2021
I'm hearing CP3 will be back for game 3. Ah, I smell a sweep grin

Looks like it is over for the Clippers ... without Kawhi ..no hope at all .. Unless PG can break the barrier of at atleast 40 points for game ... They were able to slow down Booker .... but no answer to Ayton... Who knows maybe Ty Lue is working on something
Yea. Payne also exploded last night. That game was close largely because Booker played poorly but also because they didn't hit their outside shots. Crowder missed a few open shots. Payne and Bridges too.
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 7:54am On Jun 23, 2021
I think this one would be too difficult for the Clippers to come back from 0-2 down. The Suns are just too good, and they don't have Kawhi. Plus the Suns expect CP to return at some point in the series (that's if they don't blow out the Clippers).

So, let's brace up for a Bucks vs Suns finals. cool
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 9:17pm On Jun 21, 2021
"The East is easy. The East is easy."

They constantly said this to undermine LeBron's dominance in the conference. But he has gone on to win in the West also. And since he left, the Raptors and Heat have made the finals. The Hawks are in the CF and have a shot to make it out. These are teams that had/have no business going that far. So my question is: If the East is weak, why haven't the big guns been making it out every year. In the three years LeBron has been in the West, guys like KD, Kyrie, Harden, Giannis, Embiid, Tatum and Westbrook have played in the East and yet none of them have made the finals. They're about to let Trae Young and Clint Capela make it instead, just like they let Jimmy Butler last year. This is the equivalent of LeBron letting DeRozan and Al Horford make the finals when he was in the East.

People who are saying the Nets played without Kyrie should also say the Nets played the Celtics without Jaylen Brown. Can't write history to favour one side only.

Nash should have found a way to steal a few minutes rest for Durant.

Even 3 minute total rest spread through the game would have helped him down the stretch.
For real man. That's utter rubbish coaching. That it worked in game 5 doesn't mean it should be the way going forward. Suddenly you can't play Claxon and Mike James? These guys literally played a key part in the earlier games in this series and in the earlier round against the Celtics, and now you just shut them out, even knowing that Harden is not 100% and needs rest too. This is just BS coaching. Rookie mistakes.

The way Nets loaded up, no team has loaded up like this since the big 4 on Lakers. Even that was not this bad. It was obscene, and I hope they dont load up some more next year. If the big 3 on the nets had been healthy, it would have made the playoffs meaningless and boring.
True. The basketball gods are alive.
