Good day Nairalanders. Pls I need some mature advice because I’ve been in a dilemma for a long time now concerning relocating abroad or staying back in Nigeria.
First of all I’m not a japa advocate. I believe if you’re doing well in Nigeria then there’s no point relocating abroad but I feel there’s so much uncertainty and I don’t know what the future holds for me in this country.

Now I’m a married man of 30 years. I will turn 31 by this September. We have no child yet but wife is preg now. I have a B.Eng in petroleum Engineering but have never worked in my life. My current business is crypto trading which I have been doing for years now. During the 2021 crypto bull run I made lot of money and acquired some properties that’s currently valued atleast 60-70m naira in total. bought my car same year and got married same year to my long time Gf, settled some family members etc . I don’t have any other investments or business aside my properties and crypto portfolio because crypto trading has taken all my time and I won’t complain because so far it has been good. Making money in dollars while in Nigeria is bliss. Even though we have been in bear season since 2022, I still make some money every now and then that’s sustainable for now until we hit another bull run which is likely to happen from next year 2024.

My fear lies here, on the long run crypto trading is not sustainable. If not for 2021 bull run I don’t think I would be in this position and even the projected bull run next year is not 100% certain

I plan on learning a programming skill which is very difficult, I tried learning it late last year but stopped along the line because it was distracting me from trading and missing some opportunities in crypto because making money is most important. Coding would probably take me a few years before I start earning even though it is sustainable long term but crypto trading can be life changing but not sustainable long term . It’s more like a gamble most times.

My plan A, is to gather enough money from now till 2025 which is the duration of the projected bull run if it happens and start investing in real estate development, Like building and selling and other businesses too but I don’t know how feasible that is in our present day Nigeria and if I don’t make my target amount, I might have to start with the available resources present.

plan B, gather some money, learn a skill then relocate to Canada with my family via study route since I don’t have any real work experience aside crypto trading but that would mean me going to study and starting afresh.

For my wife, she also has a degree in Human Resources with just nysc as working experience. She learnt wig making and installation and has been doing her online biz selling wigs etc.

Abroad folks, what are my chances abroad considering my current profile. Is it worth it coming over there to start afresh
And build? I have heard so many things how it’s hard getting a job and you have to rely on survival jobs for the first few years expecially for someone without any work experience.

I really don’t like joining the bandwagon cos everyone seems to be leaving, I love to weigh my options and hate taking unnecessary risk that might lead to regrets, at the same time don’t want to regret not leaving since I’m still young and have the opportunity that’s why I’m here asking these questions to learn from experienced and matured family men home and abroad the action they would take. We learn everyday,

For my unborn kids, if everything checks out, my plan is to give birth to them in either Canada or US for the passport and raise them in Nigeria and when they are grown, send them to study there and that is only if I’m not relocating. And if I’m relocating, what are the in-demand skills and professions I have to take since it’s clear I might be going to school because I hate survival jobs. What is your advice pls.

I have been on this since yesterday. Cleared cache, allowed cookies from the website, updated my browser (these are things they suggested on their website) and used different browsers but it’s still not working.
I tried to book a free date on the 19th and that worked. Then now I’m trying to amend the date to book an earlier date so I can go tomorrow but it’s still the same error message.

So the only alternative is to for for a distant date with a standard entry?

Yes, did prime time since it’s the only one available for tomorrow. The prime time for 8:00 and 8:15 is still showing for tomorrow. I have also tried the premium lounge spot available and it’s the same thing. Even dates next week for prime time or premium are saying the same thing.

Did u go "primetime" if u did I think you should change it to another one I don't think the prime time is available. Give it a try and leme know.

Yes I did changed the browser, the TLS website wasn't taking me to where to pay.

The payment portal is not going on TLS for self service even after picking a date, pls any idea how to solve this?

I need advice please. I got an internship role in Development Engineering, to assist my employer with research on an ongoing project. My school will be the one paying my salary. The Job is for two and half months(10 weeks). The issue is that, I currently work in a care home(two nights per week). Doing the two jobs will make me exceed the 20hrs work restriction. I don't want to decline the internship role because I believe it will be good on my CV, but it's just for two and half months, neither can I quit the care job just for a short term job. God knows I need both salary. The pay on the internship is 1£ pound higher. And I have also been looking for an opening that will take me out care job.
Please how do I approach this, because I am expected to resume the internship role next week.

Kindly take the internship more opportunities could open up after it, plus care jobs are readily available.

Having a British passport alone beat all the odds or whatever annual salary you receive in nigeria with a nigeria passport, many reasons why many of the big money bags in NIGERIA mostly have kids with US passport.

Hi my cousin got his admission with his student copy transcript but now has his official copy transcript. The issue now is that he has gotten his cas and he doesn't know if he should include both student copy transcript and official copy transcript when doing his visa application. Kindly advise as I'm not sure how to advise him, thanks.

I shared the different phases of Japaa experience here some weeks ago.

My wife and l came on work visa and both of us are doing the same work and same levels we were in Nigeria as both university lecturer and medical doctor respectively.

I understand the students route is not easy for the students and their dependents, but they should not give up.

Things always get better if we do not give up......we should all keep pushing to go up the food chain as TIME passes.

It's for us to keep working towards where we want to be.....nothing is impossible to whosoever that believes....

Grateful for the opportunities in the UK regardless.
NIGERIA didn't do so much for many of us so why complain.

Just some clarifications please.

1) At visa application stage, is it required for the applicant to submit transcript or just the certificate would do?

2) If you have a missing letter in the spelling of your name in one of your schools certificate e.g Chidima instead of Chidimma, would it pose a serious issue for visa application? Have been using it that way without any issues. What can be done whereby it's difficult to correct the name from the school?

3) What can be done whereby WAEC certificate has name written in the order: Surname, MiddleName, First name... But applicants format of name writing, the middle name used in the waec certificate is actually the first name and first name used in the certificate is actually the middle name. How does this affect anything and what steps can be taken to avoid unfortunate results.

Hello guys, I apologise this is a long post but I need your contributions please.
My brother is registered with indeedflex and he was given a shift at Sainsbury's. When he was about to leave after the shift they were told they all need to be searched cos someone stole from one of the sections. However, they didnt see anything on him. Some days after his shift he did not receive payment and he first contacted the shift leader in Sainsbury's who said he will not be paid cos he was caught stealing. He probed further to understand where the accusation was coming from but they stopped responding. He then contacted indeedflex and they repeated same thing. He told them that it was a blatant lie and needs evidence of that. He sent several messages to talk about how the accusation has traumatized him and affected him financially. After some days they finally paid him and according to indeedflex it was cos he returned the stolen item when confronted. He insisted it was all false and he needs them to investigate and show him CCTV evidence or something. They said they cannot release the evidence cos of GDPR, that they will not push it any further but will keep an eye on his account. He has not gotten shifts in Sainsbury's ever since. We need advice on how we can get to the root of this please, it is a serious and false accusation that has the tendency of tarnishing his image. There were other black agency workers that worked there on that day and this could be a case of mistaken identity. Do we need to talk to a lawyer?

I am an entry level data analyst without any UK real project yet and no jobs being offered except data entry roles with very low pay.

Data analysis trainings are quite expensive and i do not consider High Impact career trainings ideal for a UK experience.
