he is correct... Nigeria has Sea Cats and so did South Africa (renamed Hilda), Libya and Zimbabwe.

Nigeria has destroyed all its Ottomat Missiles, Seacat Missiles, Aspide Missiles, Anti Submarine Rockets, Torpedos, 500Ib Depth Chargers, 375mm Anti Submarine Squids

They're all obsolete anyway.
Correct. Aspide and Otomat were even demonstrated live to the public during Nigerian Navy day celebrations in the 80s i think.
Young Nigerians have my sympathy. There is no old time Nigeria anymore.

The navy took members of the public on a cruise. I was listening on radio at the launching of Aspide particularly. All the commentator could shout about was how incredibly fast it took off. Next day I was at Ojuelegba looking for Defence magazines to read up on it. No internet then.

PoliticsRe: 2019 Elections; Who will you vote? by SternProphet: 10:42am On Jun 01, 2018
lindabon:
What has been PMB's achievements in the last 3 years of his presidency? Do you think thats the best he can do? We have so many options next year. The presidential candidates for our 2019 election are some of our best and brightest Nigerians. We have alternatives for presidency this time around. Should we really stick with a "just okay" PMB, who the best his supporters can say about him is "he has integrity" but yet lacks capacity. In China, they build sky scrapers overnight, in Nigerians it takes our leaders years to complete a single project. In developed countries, the government provides welfare for the destitute or poor, including free housing, health care, quality education, and finance for the people. In Nigeria, Nigerian citizens are the ones that provide welfare for their fellow Nigerians not the government. Infact Nigerians abroad are the highest foreign investors to Nigeria through the remittances they send back home every time. Can we not do better? Nigeria is a 1000years behind developed countries because we have analogue leaders running a digital generation and we honestly can't get anything done with such leaders. Our country is blessed tremendously and Nigeria can very easily become the best country in the world and the envy of the rest of the world, but we will never get there with the crop of leaders we have today. So why continue with the style of leadership and politics we have in Nigeria today?
You have a peculiar definition of leadership. Someone has been feeding you lies. A man who has been head of state, governor, minister, GOC, infrastructure czar in PTF and state governor many years before ..suddenly does not have capacity. So who has capacity, GEJ?. That was an ordinary A level teacher that Alan's and OBJ promoted far above his ability.

First of all, let me address this "digital leadership" and "digital generation" crap.
There is no such thing as digital leadership in the context it is being used in Nigeria. Digital leadership is an organisational character and ability that makes them dominate the competition using digital technology.

Anyway knowing that what some Nigerian youths mean by "digital leadership " is the button-down, approachable, zero formality, accessible on social media kind of leadership, i would say this is the dressing of and not the core of leadership. Buhari has Twitter accounts, Facebook and others. He regularly communicates his programmes
Leadership has not changed since the early man or much later since the time of empire builders. The first thing is LOVE of your country and these days we want INTEGRITY. Every other quality can be bought and paid for. Brazil makes aircraft, buses and have a more developed infrastructure than Nigeria, their Presidents are not "digital" in the shallow sense itbos used here. China is ruled by only ONE party, the chairman of that party has given himself almost forever in office early this year. Putin is a dictator, what you get away with calling Buhari, they will kill you for in Russia. The crown Prince of Saudi Arabia is just 31, he almost panicked after allowing women to drive just this year
Please where is the digitally in the leadership anywhere.
There is no such thing. Whether it is leading a team of developers in Microsoft, chairing a meeting to build a new space vehicle in the EU involving 20 countries and 5 big companies or teaching Arabic to Almajiris in the dirtiest part of Kano, leadership is soul to souls, mind to minds. It has not changed.

Quickly to the "digital generation". Nigeria is 70% young people but only 15% of Nigerians are in digital age.
Young people on social media have to stop deceiving themselves and face life with courage and reality. There are just 15% of you and most of you live in mega cities of Lagos, Portharcourt and Abuja.
To make matters more interesting about 50% of that number are also for Buhari.
This is not even the tragic thing. The tragic thing is that there are many other youths living semi urban and rural lives within those mega cities. Those other guys are not in the digital age.
One of the reasons PDP lost elections is believing bull shit. They left wide swathes of the youth population uneducated, unemployed and unempowered and they paid dearly.

How stupid to say Buhari should be President only for 15% of Nigerians in the digital age.
What cluelessness is driving that belief.
We have education, primary health, agriculture, re-skilling, de radicalization, de cultization, infrastructure, defence and security to do.

Nigeria has people issues. We need all the boring qualities they have stopped teaching - honesty, integrity, discipline, hard work, innovation and invention.
I was talking to an ex colleague in Europe about nuclear plant integrity. What it takes to prevent a nuclear power plant from blowing up and killing millions. He told me about instrument technicians he once worked with and the fact that they had to be boring, honest, painstaking, careful and extremely highly skilled. This is what we are actually talking about in a digital age. What about participating in a large IT installation in a big company or operating and maintain a large refinery or piloting a plane with many souls on board?.
We have to get serious and get back to basics. This is why we need Buhari and people like him. It is not fancy speeches by guys in T-shirt and jeans on TedTalks. It is being honest about qualities that makes a country great and they do not include yahoo-yahoo, stealing government money, paying yourself N13,5m as senator, oloshoism, drug taking at.c
PoliticsRe: 2019 Elections; Who will you vote? by SternProphet: 6:54am On Jun 01, 2018
We are all for Buhari. And yes we know the unfortunate killings that were not stopped in time, we know he has a bad IG of police and we know there are a few corrupt people in APC.

In spit of these Buhari is one of the few of the Nigerian elite with integrity. He is the only one who can force tough but necessary economic policies through because of his age and nothing to lose.

He was alone in calling out corruption as one of the destiny speakers of YOUNG people in Nigeria Some of them don't like him but God in time reveals the truth . More importantly, the killing, looting party called the PDP should die painfully. We need knew young people in government and Presidency should move to Ibo land to keep Nigeria one and tap leadership talent of that area in 2023.

PoliticsRe: Inside Nigerias Foreign Reserves. by SternProphet: 10:48pm On May 30, 2018
plaetton:
First and foremost, remove this notion that GEJ depleted the foreign reserves. That was just an APC propaganda talking point. It obviously resonated and still resonates well with unthinking Zombies. That's why they are call Zombies.
The foreign reserves went down from its peak during the OBJ era to slightly shy of $30b when GEJ left office. In the case of GEJ, almost $7b of that was raw cash in the form of excess crude oil account ( ECA).
That hardly be described as a depletion.

OBJ grew the foreign reserves in many different ways.
First, rising oil prices meant more earnings and more reserves.
Secondly and most importantly, OBJ first renegotiated, then rescheduled and eventually got rid of $38b of foreign debt.
With $38b off our necks, and no multi-billion dollar interest payments and penalties, Nigeria was free to keep much of its foreign exchange earnings.

In the case of GEJ, rising crude Oil prices also meant rising revenues and reserves. But also meant commensurately rising cost of fuel subsidy payments.
GEJ was also prosecuting a very costly full fledged war against Boko Haram . The other tiers of government, the states and local governments, also demanded and got a commensurately higher allocations in line with the higher revenues.
As the economy grew year after year , so grew consumption , particularly imports, year after year. It is also worthy of note that a significant portion of the foreign reserve drawdown occurred from the transition period to the first 3 months of the Buhari administration , when Buhari scared away foreign capital with his uninformed and unguarded statements as well his intended declaration of war on Capital, as projected by his body language.
GEJ depleted the foreign reserves pure and simple. It was done at two levels (i) outright stealing at NPDC and NNPC and (ii) at the policy level via uncontrolled importation of Dubai consumer goods, petroleum products and food.

The truth was GEJ was always too weak and unintelligent to manage anything properly. If there had been no NOI , Nigeria's problems would have been more serious and would have started in 2013.

He excuse that Nigeria fighting Boko Haram was a cause of Forex depletion is a shameful lie. Look at the defence budget through out GEJ era, it was loaded on the recurrent side. It was food, diesel and allowances that consumed the money. These items were bought in Naira. Nigeria was under some arms embargo and we never spent at Forex depleting levels to buy arms.

All in all, GEJ era was a very stupid, loose, undisciplined and wasteful period in Nigeria's history. The man was slack and too grateful to be President so he could not crack the whip and institute austerity measures.
The most unwitting insult to the simpleton of a man is this new one that he "initiated" BVN, TSA and others but he did not implement them because of the consequences or dome rambling idiocy along those lines.

First of all, he did not initiate any of these things. Some civil servants or their consultants did. Why we elect Presidents is to muster political will to implement favourable programs for the people. The guy failed, pure and simple and the country is in PAIN now for it. Only God can forgive the suffering and family dislocations caused by the wasted opportunity of >$80per barrel oil for at least 5 of the 6 years.
PoliticsRe: Inside Nigerias Foreign Reserves. by SternProphet: 10:30pm On May 30, 2018
Whichever way you look at it, banking shenanigans or not, a high and growing Forex level is an indicator of foreign confidence in your economy.
Money does not flow into a country where it does not work efficiently to increase itself and make returns.

Yeah we aware about the 3 X jf17 fighter jets but how long his it going to take in procuring such cheap aircrafts, it's quite annoying.
Three of long awaited JF 17 not in the budget. This is either payment for only one complete (1) bird or airframe for three birds with engines, radar and avioincs already paid for. The aircraft are not really ready for Nigeria. Pakistan needs at least 24 more of them and it seems Nigeria asked for some special requirements to make them more effective. I am thinking we will get the aircraft in mid 2019.

SportsRe: I Can’t Sleep – Liverpool Goalkeeper Karius by SternProphet: 4:54pm On May 28, 2018
RMC was going to win anyway. They had more depth and the bench was richer. The RMC coach was also better. Gareth Bale was introduced at the right time.

This guy only made one mistake and it was cancelled by Mane's equalizer. The goals conceded to Bale were not easy balls. It was not mistakes that made them score, it was the quality of the shots.
PoliticsRe: Buhari In Trouble: Saraki, Dogara, Tambuwal, Kwankwaso Set To Dump APC by SternProphet: 6:48pm On May 27, 2018
Buhari will WIN 2019 elections by landslide. What is happening in the next 10 months is the finalization of the political careers of many politicians related to PDP. Many will also end up in prison. Maybe Kwankwaso will still have a semblance of political support but Saraki and Tambuwal are deceiving themselves if they leave APC. It is wilderness experience and they cannot stop it. The western world will not complsin when Buhari clamps down on politicians who have corruption cases. A lot of these guys will know what it means to have things working against you.
PoliticsRe: EXPOSED: The ‘missing Billions Of Naira’ Under Buhari As Chairman Of PTF by SternProphet: 4:27pm On May 27, 2018
Inferiority complex and urge for moral equivalency makes the insecure youth supporters of PDP reach for this FALSEHOOD all the time. Stop deceiving yourselves. There was NO looting of PTF by Buhari. There were a very few shady deals done by done some PTF officials on drug supplies to some hospitals but nothing rising to the top or Buhari.
The man contested against OBJ many times and they could have used it against him but nothing was found. OBJ himself absolved him of these issues in 2015.

Everybody should unite against corruption. If the PDP is your party and they are corrupt, fight within that party to oppose corrupt people being recycled. You need a clean party to contest against A PC. If you don't, defeat is 100% sure in 2019. Nigerians want to see new names not encumbered by corruption from PDP. This is the work for their supporters and members of the party not trying to bring Buhari down to the pit latrine that is PDP in terms of corruption perception.

145bn cedis is now $145bn to products of Nigeria's inferior educational system. No wonder GEJ is their hero.

I’m so confused when ever I see NA soldiers around these ZU technicals, do we have them in our inventory huh
We bought some rugged trucks from East Europe some years back and Army Engineers must have converted them to ZU-23 gun carriers. NA inventory of ZU-23 AA guns is more than 350 units.

There are also many previously dedicated AA guns ZPU which are now being mounted on trucks instead of being towed for use against insurgents in horizontal trajectory mode.

Even Ngozi Iwealla, Donald Duke, OBJ, Dickson and others have said the same thing that the personal weaknesses of Good luck Jonathan was a complete drag on the development and growth of this country.

We were on $100 A barrel oil and FOREX Reserves were not growing, importation was out of control, government was not collecting taxes, MDAs wee not remitting moneym Boko Haram was collecting taxes in the north whilst a few generals were looting funds yet you are too cowardly or inferior to accept that the guy was SCRAP. When kniwn looters admit that they prefer a regime it means they are saying that the President is weak and clueless.

There is no progress without admitting truth and there is no truth without courage.
