Largas:Give the government time. We all know that no case has been successfully prosecuted yet. The judicial system is a mess and cases would stall if the defendants grease the palms of the right judges. Jide Omokore was reputed to have returned some money, despite that, he was recently charged to court. So you see such monies are still untouchable for now. The Buhari campaign made promises we all hoped could be achieved, but promises have to be fulfilled with funds. We are broke as a nation, it is not Buhari's fault, but it is his responsibility to get us out. |
Largas:But you and I are happy that while we crawl out of recession since no miraculous exit exists, Buhari has deemed it fit to prosecute all those who stole monies meant for the development of the country. Monies that could have long diversified our economy. You should be happy with that. |
cbrass:Yes, you couldn't have avoided it as I shed light on your darkness. Rabiu Kwankwaso of PDP lost his re-election as governor of Kano state in 2003 to Shekarau of ANPP. Guess what ministry OBJ gave him? Full minister of defence. Did Kwankwaso have a military or paramilitary background? Even Jonathan broke the decades old tradition of having a professor as Education Minister. He made the same Shekarau minister in his last 9months. Shekarau only has a Masters and taught as a school teacher, but never lectured in any tertiary institution. But he had administrative experience as a 2term governor. A minister of health does not need a medical background. Works had Anenih ex-policeman, Fashola Aviation had Kema Chikwe, Prof. Aborishade, FFK and Stella Oduah and now Rotimi Amaechi. They all have no technical or engineering or aviation background. They all have no investments in that sector. A minister is a political administrator, deal with it. |
Largas:Continue waiting for miracle. |
amachuk:You are not cared about either. We are talking about Nigeria. What did Onyebuchi Chukwu do for healthcare in Nigeria? Venture to any government hospital and behold a refugee camp. Is that his milestone achievement? Tribal bigot! |
Largas:If you like Tufia from Sokoto to Damaturu, we will all suffer for the wasted resources that was at our disposal in the years past. As long as oil remains our destiny, we are destined to rise and fall with oil price. Now we fall, stop trying to stand on nothing. Alliance did not cause Jonathan to owe oil firms JV funding to the tune of $5b from 2010 to 2015. Yet we were told that we had the biggest economy in Africa in those same years. Now you want Buhari to pay the $5b in an economy on recession , yet Jonathan is not in jail. Come and collect miracle naa. |
DerrickzB:Dilapidated infrastructure and sloth and strike is the answer to the above question. |
DerrickzB:I should be asking you how has the health ministry and education ministry fared with professionals over the last 56years? |
Sibrah:The challenge you mentioned is known to the ministry technocrats who are paid to know it and convey such with solutions to the minister. The ministers job is to ensure that such challenges are communicated to the presidency where the Executive Council would further deliberate on it and secure funding for the solutions provided. The minister's job is not to detect the problems. The minister is not in the ministry for ever, so can never be a body of knowledge like the ministry's technocrats. Now since you insist there's a problem a politician would not know, then do we recycle the old political appointees to that ministry or do we recall the former president of the country to serve as a minister since such challenges must have been mentioned in his regime, as such he would be equipped with the solutions? Or do we make the technocrat permanent secretary or director of that ministry as a minister, and do away with such highest executive position in the ministry? A minister remains a political administrator. |
KingOfAmebo:Yet with your professorial doctors heading the ministry of health, we have about the worst medical infrastructure in West Africa. America without doctors as Secretary of Health, is where we run to. I like the Nigerian common sense. |
Sibrah:I accept. In all honesty, don't you think the ministry of Agriculture or Works or Power etc, have these technocrats already who do this job day in day out, and who are permanent fixtures at such ministries unlike a minister who can be replaced after just 3months on the saddle? A minister is just a political administrator, the ministries have directors and a permanent secretary who by experience and vocation are compelled to have this specific knowledge. We really should stop this over-technocracy in our ministerial portfolio. Was FFK or Stella Oduah a pilot or an airline investor to be minister of Aviation? Neither were they engineers or technically grounded. A minister is just an administrator, with the exception of the Attorney General of a nation. If the minister of Justice was separated from the Attorney General, an Engineer or a Surveyor could head such ministry, because he would just be an administrator of that ministry awarding contracts and overseeing the running of its offices nationwide, while the office of the attorney general would argue government case in court and give legal interpretation. |
Sibrah:So in conclusion we need someone who studied, B.Sc understanding Magnitude and Nature of Nigeria's Transmission Problem. Goodluck finding such professional. Or we recycle a past president or minister of power to come resolve what they couldn't fix before, but now understand? Did Fashola succeed in those ministries while as governor of Lagos, Yes or No? If No, I will link you up with Aresa, his pictures don't lie. |
Largas:Yes they have failed, else your round pegs would have solved all the problems. So let us see what square pegs would achieve in 1.5yrs. They must perform a miracle or magic to satisfy your irrational expectation of overnight success. |
opedaydydx9:So the farmer Audu Ogbeh still needs idea about an agricultural where he is a plantation owner? A former governor Dr Chris Ngige who was a former director at the ministry of health, and a state chief executive, has no idea about labour, managing workforce and trade union dispute issues? An SAN and former governor of the most populous and complex state in Nigeria, credited with multitudes of road, housing, power, and infrastructure projects, still has no idea about Power Works and Housing? A moro.n was suggesting that a labourer should be minister of labour, I hope you're a better moro.n? |
Largas:If the previous technocratic round pegs in round hole had done their jobs when federal revenue was surplus, would you be lamenting about basic amenities in a regime that inherited a collapsing economy? Or is it not with money that projects would be funded, whether round peg or square peg. |
Sibrah:No difference at all. Tony Anenih of PDP was minister of works in the first 3years of Obasanjo's regime, from 1999 to 2002. Tony Anenih is a retired AIG of Police. All the ministries under Fashola received priority attention in Lagos when he was the governor. Is it the roads and the bridges? Is it the IPP power projects for the different business districts in Lagos? Is it the different housing estates built by his regime? A governor who put such effort into those projects under such ministries is more than qualified as the political administrator of such ministries at the federal level. Administration is the key. Does he have the required administrative experience to handle such ministry? Or with such projects handled by his government, he does not understand the requirements to replicate such projects at the federal level? |
Sammiejokes:You see! Yet Ben Carson is a famous Neurosurgeon. Kathleen Sebelius who was governor of Kansas was picked by Obama to be secretary of health. She studied B.A Political Science and M.A Public Administration. She was in that position from 2009 to 2014. Tom Daschle who was Obama's 1st choice for that position, but was dropped due to tax payment default controversy, also studied Political Science, not Medicine or Pharmacy. I don't understand why ignorant kids just argue from a position of darkness over matters that are non-partisan. |
OZAOEKPE:Am I surprised your intelligence is limited and as such could not argue the points detailed? Go play hide and seek. |
BeeBeeOoh:I reckon your brilliant mind requires the minister of Labour to have been a labourer? Or is the medical profession not part of the labour force of a nation? And is the said Audu Ogbeh of Agriculture not reputed to be an active agriculture investor? A minister is an administrator. Ignorant but talkative kids everywhere on Nairaland. |
veekid:A minister is an administrator. The only ministry that requires a member of same vocation is ministry of justice because the minister doubles as attorney general. A doctor cannot argue government's case in court or give legal interpretation of a judgement as an attorney general would do. A Minister of Health is never required to examine a patient or carry out medical examination, perform a surgery or dispense drugs. A Minister of Works is never required to design engineering plans or structures or tools. Neither is he/she required to operate equipment. A minister is a political administrator for the ministry. Any governor who has managed a state where such ministries exist and were functional during his tenure, is more than qualified to handle such ministry as the direct administrator. Overcome your ignorance. |
abu99err:You are a man of truth. A model citizen. You are a patriot! |
Let's see if the minority will win the presidency with their hate campaign against the majority of Nigeria. I really pity Okorocha. Too decent a pragmatic politician for the miserable South he hails from. |
wowmenow:Trying to deflect the more important fact of this election? APC has defeated PDP in a PDP ruled Ondo state, while PDP could not defeat APC in the APC ruled Edo state. Your misery continues. |
PRXPERT:Because he brought to light how supposedly "hardworking" Igbo movie pirates were feeding off his own "lazy" sweat? Kunle Afolayan, continue to reach for the stars. |
Wailers have started with their propaganda again. What a miserable people. |
QuotaSystem:Hmmm! Food for thought. Their objective is a well known agenda that has been captured by the words of that miscreant I quoted. Really, they are not known to be tactful and wise, so they end up revealing their plans too early to guarantee failure. However, one must always ensure that the light is continuously beamed on their activities both offline and online, as they seek to turn brother against brother, and friend against friend. Whatever it is they gain from chaos is still a concern that psychiatrists need to unravel. |
progress69:It seems Buhari didn't learn anything from Jonathan's political downfall. Keep your political structure intact and avoid fighting unnecessarily on the advice of those who are only seeking to grow their own base as an aftermath of that power tussle. |
kettle84:He sold subsidized dollars to his Muslim brothers you say, but you were asleep when his "Christian enemies" got the same dollar subsidy earlier, hence no criticism then? |
FSBoperator:https://www.nairaland.com/3483476/jimoh-ibrahim-loses-appeal-supreme#51327817 The above comment was made by one of many miscreants who scavenge this forum, looking for any opportunity to sow discord, hate, animosity, and anarchy in Nigeria. Unfortunately, people like him are always the first to lament when rising tensions result to violence, blaming the government for not rising to the occasion - as though they could stand the weight of the government baring down on their clandestine agenda. Straight to the matter, Jimoh Ibrahim is known to be a practicing Christian of the Deeper Life Faith since his days in the university fellowship. But as miscreants are fond to reveal their own ignorance, he was termed by the above miscreant as a Muslim who was sent to do the bidden of Muslim Fulani overloards in the North. What this ignoramus did not reveal is that the current governor of the so called Christian state of Ondo, Olusegun Rahman Mimiko who belongs to a party he supports, is himself a Muslim who defeated the incumbent Christian, Olusegun Agagu. Despite Mimiko being Muslim, the state has been peaceful. But being oblivious of Jimoh Ibrahim's Christianity, he concludes like a foo.l that he would islamize Ondo state with his deeper life tracts? All of the above political outcomes is certainly a mystery to one who comes from a region where interreligious coexistence is impossible idealism. Therefore my advice to people from heterogeneous ethno-religious political regions in the country, flee from such cankerworms who masquerade as supporters of a section of the divide and throw stones to the other, for they will only sit back to be entertained when the hate they are stoking blossoms into anarchy. If in doubt, see below comments on a different thread by the same snake. They love no one, certainly not you, and you are grossly mistaken if you think they are fighting on your side of the divide at the moment. FSBoperator:https://www.nairaland.com/3471980/buhari-should-dump-osinbanjo-now#51139916 Another worrying trend of recent, is having very miserable outsiders begin to define who is a true or false South/South or NigerDelta person. You hear comments like, "you must be Edo, or Auchi Muslim, not a real SouthSouth", "you must be Ijaw who loves to grab land". As far as these miserable humans are concerned, they define where you come from and how more real you belong there, based on your support or otherwise for their argument on the need for your region to support their own selfish regional ambitions. You are a traitor and backstabber if you do not support their own regional ambitions, yet they have no evidence of ever lending a helping hand to anyone. You are their enemy and a slave to another region of the country when you have a good working relationship, in truth, they are just like kids who are envious of a party of friends that does not include them. But be sure that they are ever scheming for the same working relationship and would jump for joy at the faintest picture of such as was exposed by the recent visit by regional legislators to the president they so much hate. Like emotional brats, they already started rejoicing for the same "slave relationship" they condemned. History however reminds us that someone who had the opportunity to be executive Prime Minister in 1960, chose to be a "loyal slave" ceremonial president. But the question remains, what exactly is their business with how other regions manage their ethnic or religious diversity? What exactly have they ever gained from this pathological lousiness? Has the outside diversity that surrounds them ever stopped them from staying put in their own "perfect" region? So why do they worry traumatically when other regions overcome boundaries to form friendships and partnerships? Must their own approval be sought by others? To my immediate political region SouthWest, flee from the advice of such miserable people who are not known to accommodate each other even in their supposedly ethno-religious homogeneous enclave. As for the war they always crave for, let us pray they have it like it's hot within their own region, in total opposite of a persistent agenda to tie down war in another man's region while they saunter off into freedom. The Western and MidWest region would know this history they are craving for to be retold. |
Liepobs need to be investigated by a medical team from WHO and CDC. The ipobic plague is a disease that makes lying pathological. The sufferers love to console their misery with hallucinations of self importance. Is there a Biafran passport minus the fraud sold by MASSOB that could not lead into Cameroon? What are Biafran Christian Jews who serve Okuko Alabama doing in Muslim Turkey? If you can lie like a Liepob, the devil must be your apprentice. |
Cooly100:Why did Ironsi and Fajuyi die when they were shot? If the question is absurd, then you would understand why the 2IC could not exert authority with mutinous soldiers pointing a gun at him and asking him to resign his command. You would also understand why an oblivious Major Hassan Katsina pledged loyalty to a gun wielding Nzeogwu when their parts crossed during the January 1966 coup. |
FSBoperator:From which lab was the virus that infected you cultured? You rant day and night about Tinubu and Yorubas and Fulani and what not. Is there nothing worthwhile for you to engage in? If you're that idle, is there nothing intelligent for you to discuss on this forum? |
