1. This was just a speach by the military governor, not the law enacted to change the status of the schools.

2. The speech was delivered in 1972 not 74. I assume ( Not sure) the last time schools status were changed was 1974.

3. If these conditions were still relevant and backed by the law, where did the high court and appeal court get the legal backing to rule in favor of hijab?

4. Why are Christians afraid of hijab in a predominantly Yoruba state like Kwara?

I AM DONE TALKING
Christian are afraid that they will lose the most important institutions in their communities, they are a minority in a majority Muslim state and the only institutions that they have are their schools, that guarantee their values and ideology to their children are maintain, they now see those schools being taken over by over by stealth.

It is starting with the Hijab, but we know where this is going. Just look at education in Northern Nigeria.

I live in the UK and if you want to go to a faith based school, you have to be a member of their Church, Mosque or Synagogue, all schools are state funded and are charities (they don't pay tax)

Tinubu during his tenure as governor was smart enough to hand over missionary schools taken over by the then government in the 70s, to their founding owners.....go across Lagos today and see those schools thriving far better than government managed schools.
Correct, the right policies in any state is to reverse the military policies , starting with the return of missionary and Islamic schools to their original owners immediately.

That's not all about what is actually happening. What is actually happening is political. Towards the ending of last year and early this year, it was obvious to the governor that majority of people are no longer interested in him nor want him again.

They made it obvious to him and he got the message loud and clear that party Stewart and the people are waiting for PDP to come back. This caused a fight that was reported in major news outlets.

Then he thought about ( or was negatively advised) what he could do that people will start talking about him positively which will make majority of kwarans deviate from criticizing him.. then he reverted to the old tactics... use religious sentiment to gain people's acceptance.

What he doesn't know is people are well aware of what he is doing and the religious communities most especially Muslims are not in support of what he is happening

The missionary schools must leave the state funding mechanism if they don't want Muslim students practicing their faith and values.

The reality is Obasanjo as president paid off a substantial foreign debt burden?
This debt started to rise again under Goodluck Jonathan. As it were Iweala was the same Finance minister under Jonathan who was borrowing to pay salaries in 2015
Iweala was appointed as Minister by Jonathan in 2011. Her first budget was tinged with subsidy scandal after the infamous New Year gift of increased petrol price in January 2012

So Google will give me the answer.

Do you know what is even counted as remittance.

Foreign direct investment is infact counted as remittance.

The only people who can give real data about individual remittance are the apps and the banks.

90% of Nigeria foreign exchange is from oil and agriculture not diaspora remittance.

Also Nigeria wont be in a dollar crisis if Nigerians abroad do send 24 billion dollars annually
Nigeria is already in a dollar crisis, despite the diaspora dollar remittance.

Credit Suisse Group AG Chief Executive Tidjane Thiam says it is “madness” for African nations to rely on loans in foreign currencies to fund vital infrastructure including roads, power and clean water.
https://www.wsj.com/articles/african-reliance-on-foreign-debt-is-madness-says-credit-suisses-thiam-1444125696
Poor governance and large dollar loans by the present government has place Nigeria in a precarious position of needing dollars to pay for oil subsidies and the growing debt liability.

Under Iweala stewardship, majority of the debt were in Naira. Due to the ongoing Naira devaluation in Buhari government the Naira debt is too expensive, hence this government has no choice but to take dollar debt , but Nigeria barely earned $20 billion last year.

In 2019, Nigeria oil revenue was $64.9 billion, so this people abroad are telling us that they send almost half of the country's oil revenue. What a joke.

Infact oil and agriculture are the bulk of Nigeria's revenue, not diaspora remittance.

Chief Femi Falana is right though. It is shame to the present and past government that none bothered to build at least a functional refinery.
What is his argument?

It was the same Falana in 2012 that argued against Iweala and Sanusi, suggesting that the government continue managing oil subsidies. At that time Nigeria was spending $8 billion on oil subsidies, funds that could have been used to repair the the existing refineries.

Government should be creating an enabling environment for entrepreneurs to build refineries and petrochemical plant. The refineries that the government has built till this day are not working, yet this loud mount wants the government to build a new one.

Niger To Arm Vigilante Group With Pump-Action Guns
Governor Abubakar Sani Bello says no amount of threat will force him to disband the groups...

Governor Abubakar Sani Bello has promised to arm the vigilante group in Niger State with pump-action guns to enable them confront bandits and address other security threats.

Speaking at Kasuwan Garba in Mariga Local Government Area of the state when he met with over 200 members of the vigilante in the area, Bello said the security volunteer groups would be armed to confront “these enemies of the people across the state.”

Attacks by bandits occasioned by killings and kidnappings are now a recurring decimal in the region, with the abductions of students adding a new dimension to the fragile security situation.

Some bandits in Niger and other states in the North West have called for the disbanding of the vigilante groups, saying that was the only condition for them to lay down their arms and embrace peace.

But Governor Bello has remained adamant, declaring that henceforth, all vigilante groups in the state would be provided with automatic pump-action guns to enable them to take the fight to the bandits wherever they were hiding.

The governor said there was no amount of threat from the bandits that would force the government to disband the vigilante groups in the state.

“We are not going to disband the vigilante as a result of threat from the bandits.

“Even when banditry activities in the state are stopped, the vigilante will still be there to provide security in the local government areas,” he said.
Pump action gun

According to Wikipedia, a pump-action or slide-action “is a repeating firearm action that is operated manually by moving a sliding handguard on the gun’s forestock.

“When shooting, the sliding forend is pulled rearward to eject any expended cartridge, and then pushed forward to cock the hammer/striker and load a new round of cartridge into the chamber”.
Mohammed Saleh, a retired police officer, said the governor must have spoken out of frustration.

“Governors are facing a tough time; they are the chief security officers in their states but this is just in name because they don’t control the instrument of coercion including the police and the army.

“That is why you see the governors [turning to] volunteer groups for support.

Denied Muslims not to enter the classrooms with their hijab will only results to a big problems among ourselves.

Practice your religion and I practice my religion shouldn't cause havoc. Besides, this is a state were majority are Muslims.
The golden word you used is owned by a Christian.

The Christian owner allowed students to wear the Hijab. If the Christian owner insist that the Hijab should not be part of the school uniform, I am sure that you and your parent would have abide by the school regulation and standards, because your main intention is to get an education.

In the 1940s to get admission into Holy Child College,Lagos, Muslim students were required to convert to Christianity, and many of them did. Fortunately for the aspiring Muslim students, Islamic leaders in Lagos created Muslim based schools and the then colonial government encourage the creation of more government owned secular schools that were opened to all faiths.

Respect other people space and stop trying to impose your values on other people and their institutions.

Nigeria: Bauchi governor on the ‘stateless’ Fulani
Published: 26/Sep/2019 Source: Nigerian Tribune
LAST week, the Bauchi State governor, Mr. Bala Mohammed, said that Fulani herdsmen from Chad, Niger and other neighbouring countries would benefit from the National Livestock Transformation Plan being championed by the Federal Government to put herdsmen and their livestock in designated colonies and give them the opportunity of exploiting the livestock value chain.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily programme on the initiative which is expected to be funded by the Federal Government at 80 per cent while the states would provide 20 per cent counterpart funding and the grazing land, the governor claimed that it would be inappropriate to deprive the ‘transnational Fulani’ of the benefits of the livestock plan simply because they were not Nigerians.

Mohammed said: “I think there is a lot of mistrust and misconception as regards the Fulani man. The Fulani man is a global or African person. He moves from The Gambia to Senegal and his nationality is Fulani. As a person, I may have my relations in Cameroon but they are also Fulani. I am a Fulani man from my maternal side; we will just have to take this as our own heritage, something that is African. So, we cannot just close our borders and say the Fulani man is not a Nigerian. In most cases, the crisis is precipitated by those outside Nigeria. When there is a reprisal, it is not the Fulani man within Nigeria that causes it. It is that culture of getting revenge which is embedded in the traditional Fulani man that attracts reprisal.”

As expected from the elite Fulani's, blaming the British that rule the North for less than 55 years by indirect rule to avoid confrontation with the ruling feudal Fulani overlord. After 60 years of independence with Fulani Emirs, Sultan, Governors, General and educationist.

Why is the North still educationally backward.

The answer is feudal structure in Northern Nigeria ...Sanusi was born on 31 July 1961 in Kano to a ruling class Fulani family of the Sullubawa clan

The Sullubawa are a Fulani clan in Northern Nigeria, the current ruling houses of Kano and Katsina belong to the clan and another amongst the four ruling Houses of Zazzau Emirate.[1] They are also found in Kano, Katsina and Sokoto states. They are said to have originated from Futa Toro, in what is now Senegal, and are associated with the Torodbe (Toronkawa). They played a key role in the Fulani Jihad led by Usman dan Fodio, which founded the Sokoto Caliphate.[2] Sullubawa clansmen became "hereditary beneficiaries of all positions of authority in all but one Hausa state".[3] In the 19th century, the Sullubawa controlled many of the fiefdoms of the Kano Emirate.[4] This changed however following Nigerian Independence in 1960, which saw their influence reduce.[5] Members of the Sullubawa later attained positions of power in the new federal structure of Nigeria
The guest lecturer , Odia Ofeimun, and Sanusi , however , clashed over why the North had been educationally backward.

Ofeimun, a poet who was the private secretary to Awolowo, said , “ Every child in the North should go to school . There is an ethnic argument against education . They are using that argument to stop the rest of us from moving forward . ”

Ofeimun had hardly finished speaking when the former Emir of Kano tackled him , saying the problem was not ethnicity but the failure of the government to provide schools, train the teachers and provide everything needed to encourage the children in the North to go to school .

Sanusi said he also believed that the problem was ethnicity until he became the emir and saw the situation differently .
He also argued that the British colonial masters did not want the North to be educated like the South.
