Maybe the pressure of playing messi behind two attackers has gotten to maradona, making he to use 3-4-3. Considering the kind of players that he has, a good coach can easily spot the loop holes in this formation.  I will also like see the kind of tactics or tactical blunder that maradona will commit when things are not going according to plan. . (Note Maradona has more coaching experience than his two assitants combined. )

^^^ The right full back(Otamendi) won't attack. Their back four is just as flat as you can get, consisting mainly of center backs.

The problem is that messi will try and draw his marker (i.e if the person is a center back) out of position for their wingers, especially Di maria to utilise the space left behind.

Maybe lagerback was experimenting for a plan B, Maybe he was using kaita as a right winger to improve his attacking skills. He has his aims and objectives.
Against argentina, maybe he will use kaita as a right defensive midfielder (To monitor Di maria) who will be making forward runs to help out in the attack when the team is in possesion.
Di maria will present a different challenge to the eagles than what colombia and north korea presented.
Apart from keeping Messi quiet, Di maria is anoda player that needs to be give attention.

@Musiwa, your formation is somehow,  Consider the fact that their full backs wont attack and we are only defending against 3 attackers (Messi, Higuain and di maria) Gutierrez is not a threat. Their midfield combo is not the strongest, veron doesn't have strenght to go 60 mins on the pitch, Mascherano is a red card waiting to happen.
Apart from the defenders, the rest can be easily out-muscled.
If we control the midfield and attack the full-backs, then the game is ours, Maradona does't look lyk sumone that has a plan B
