Bobloco:
Are you implying that the claim that Osun State's LG allocations are not being withheld by the Tinubu-led federal government is false, or...?
Pain state allocation is not being withheld , but local government allocation is and that is because of the governor refusal to give the local government sovereignty

This is a cheap political point, Bode George didn’t do his homework well, even the aforementioned persons will distance themselves from this claims.
For the benefits of doubt I expect dancing governor to substantiate this claim

Your to-be in-laws are insatiable.

Yoruba elders will say Aya buruku see ni, sugbon ana buruku soroo ni

Those are the calliber of people that will ask for more and still be telling you that you've done nothing for them, no matter what you done and how far you'd go for them.

PoliticsDrug Addiction: What Is The Way Out by Sunky200(op): 3:32pm On Jun 27, 2023
DRUG ADDICTION

This topic is serious and most people avoid it for several reasons.

There is no family in the world that doesn’t suffer from drug addiction.

If you don’t suffer from drug addiction, there is a family member, however remote, or a friend or acquaintance experiencing the problems of drug addiction.

It might be a child, brother, sister, cousin, aunt, nephew, etc.

I sympathize with you.

Let anybody whose family, friend, or acquaintance does not have drug addiction problem be the first to cast the stone—whether you are a pastor, Islamic cleric or a free thinker.

But, also, I want you to realize that that you are not alone.

The problem is pandemic—and it kills and devastates more people than the deadliest disease in the world.

It is also something shameful, therefore we avoid the topic.

It is mostly treated as a moral issue: X is a bad or weak person, therefore, s/he suffers from drug addiction, whereas, I am a good and strong character, therefore, I am clean.

Drug addiction is not a moral issue.

It is a chemical issue.

Our body is 100% chemical plus the spiritual dimension—which is also subject to chemicalization.

The definition of drugs here includes alcohol, and extends to others such as nicotine, marihuana, cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, mushrooms, and may even include sleep disorder drugs, prescription drugs, as well as designer drugs that we are not familiar with.

Creative people, whether they are scientists, artists, musicians, engineers, designers, writers or philosopher, lawyers, doctors, judges, teachers, pastors or clerics or mere students suffer from drug addiction.

The traditional way to deal with drug addiction is to condemn the addict, humiliate them, disown them, imprison them or even kill them.

All of these approaches have failed.

In the United States, for example, the War On Drugs was started by President Nixon in 1971. He declared drug abuse as “Public Enemy Number One.”

All he managed to do was increase the prison population. When he died several decades later, there wasn’t a reduction in the crisis of drug addiction. In fact, the use of addictive drugs has only gotten much worse, not only in the US, but all over the world.

The “Just Say No” approach initiated also in the United States also failed.

Going to church and mosques or other religious places is not a solution.

I remember Ẹ̀jẹ̀ (his nickname), the son of an archdeacon, and my roommate in 1976/77 at Awolowo Hall. He smoked pot regularly ad didn’t hide that addiction from us.

But his real hidden addiction was amphetamines. He realized that I was not judgmental, and didn’t hide his amphetamines struggles from me.

He studied philosophy and graduated in 1978.

His drug problem grew worse after he graduated and started working, earning money to feed his addiction.

Soon, Ẹ̀jẹ̀ was unable to keep his job. He started roaming the streets.

Whenever I encountered him on the street where he isolated himself, wearing rags, or sometimes roaming around naked, he recognized me. I would hug him—because I knew he needed human touch--and give him some money, and new cloths.

His religious family came together and declared him a disgrace to the family.

They poisoned him and he died.

I could name other friends who suffered similar fates and were murdered to save the face of their families.

Or have you never encountered someone with drug addiction problem?

I think we must find other approaches to handling chemical problems beyond rejecting and sending people to prison—or even murdering them.

What do you think is the solution to this problem?

This kyari of a man is not making sense
Going by his logic, cost of production is universal bit price of goods can never be, because many factors makes locally produced goods to be cheaper than imported goods.

If this is how they wanna play, then I'd say dangote and and dangote group will have the last laugh.
Till today the people behind dangote group are not known and they're very likely to be the same people who make their fortune from subsidy.

In a lay man language, government stopped giving them subsidy and direct them to be collecting it directly from the masses

PoliticsRe: Quick Facts From Tinubu's Drug Case In The U.S According To Kevin Moss' Findings by Sunky200: 5:34pm On Mar 26, 2023
According to your summary, Tinubu didn't honour the court invitation and ran to Nigeria. No arrest warrant from the court and one day, at his own confinient time, he woke up and head back to court and tell them he want his money and they gave it to him while they withheld some.
The court even make him sign some document that makes it impossible for Tinubu to sue the court in the future, yet, according to you, Tinubu is the criminal.

Your kind of court dey funny aswear

PoliticsLessons From Lagos by Sunky200(op): 5:39pm On Mar 19, 2023
Four lessons from Lagos.

One: teach your children to speak very properly your indigenous languages, if you want your children to be accepted as leaders in the community.

You cannot think in English or French, and speak pidgin Yoruba, yet expect Yoruba people to accept you wholeheartedly as their leader.

They will see through you and reject your elitism.

Second: when you see a calm beehive, do not poke it with a stick.

The bees are protecting their queen.

That is why they are so calm.

If you poke the beehive with a stick, those calm bees will surely react.

Third: because the surface of the water is still and calm doesn’t mean that the water is shallow; or that is not the abode of ferocious crocodiles.

Four: Yoruba people do not eat with the left hand.

When they learn a lesson, they hold the lesson inside their left fist so they don’t use that hand to eat dodo.

We are taking serious lessons from Lagos.

Afẹ́fẹ́ ti fẹ́. . .

You may complete the proverb.

PoliticsThe Dark Cat: What Is Dú? by Sunky200(op): 10:39am On Mar 17, 2023
Du is dark

Dú—dark, black, grey, brown, indigo.

Dúdú deep dark: dú+dú (dú repeated for emphasis).

Ìlẹ̀dú—dark loamy soil: Ilẹ̀+dú (soil+dark)

Èédú—charcoal: èé+dú (substance+dark)

Adu—dark fellow: à+du (fellow+dark)

Adúmáradán—dark, silk-smooth skin: a+du+maradan. (fellow+dark+glossy skin)

Dúdú is the wide range of dark colors and shades formed from the verb dú.

It is regarded as an incredibly great color representing health, life, vivacity, vibrancy and intense energy, in addition to beauty.

When it is the color of the human pigment, dú attracts lots of praise.

This is the basis of Adúmáradán as the dark, silk-smooth skin—is derived.

Even those who are light skinned appreciate the dark skin, as this oríkì poem shows:

M̀ bá tètè mọ̀ (Had I realized earlier)
Ọmọ alágbẹ̀dẹ ni m̀ bá jẹ́ (I would have learned blacksmithing)
M̀ bá dú lójú (My face would have been dark)
M̀ bá dú lẹ́nu (My mouth would have been dark)
Àtàgbọ̀n ìsàlẹ̀ (Even the bottom of my chin, dark)

The encounter with foreign cultures has now corrupted the Yoruba understanding of the dú color.

Many Yoruba people now think that dú is associated with evil.

The real victims of this unfortunate development are not only human but also animals—especially the dark cat, or Ológbò dúdú, which is now regarded as evil and totally demonized, just like Esu is regarded as evil and demonized as Satan.

Just as Esu was mistranslated into Satan by Christian and Islamic missionaries, so was Aje mistranslated into “Witch” by these same invasive faiths.

Ologbo dudu which is associated with the Aje is now demonized as the symbol of the witches.

Last week, my friend in Austin told me she just acquired a black cat with shiny furs.

She says the Ologbo dudu is devoted to her and follows her around in her house, and stays with her as she does her Yoga exercises in the morning.

I painted a picture my friend with her cat, as she does Yoga.

Should folks continue to chase and kill dark cats in Africa?

Should folks continue to describe as witches old women experiencing age-related mental decline?

May we and our loved ones grow old gracefully and in sound health.

Siemens said Canada's decision to allow a turbine to be sent from its repair shop in Canada to Germany was a necessary first step towards returning it to the Russian pipeline it operates, and that it was aiming to get it there as soon as possible.

"The political export decision is a necessary and important first step for the delivery of the turbine. Currently, our experts are working intensively on all further formal approvals and logistics," Siemens Energy said in a statement.

Among other things, this involves legally required export and import control procedures. Our goal is to transport the turbine to its place of operation as quickly as possible," it added.
