RomanceRe: How Do You Restrain Yourself From Falling In Love? by superbloke(m): 10:51pm On Dec 28, 2012
Different reasons for different people. Some are afraid of commitment, others are committed to some other cause which they feel may be hindered by the demands of a relationship. Some don't just find love, others fall in love but realize it won't work because they choose to follow their heads rather than their hearts. Most times, they just don't see it as a necessity. These reasons themselves are the what keep single without feeling empty or left out.

slimes: The lights go out and I can't be saved
Tides that I tried to swim against
Have brought me down upon my knees
Oh I beg, I beg and plead, singing

Come out of the things unsaid
Shoot an apple off my head and a
Trouble that can't be named
A tiger's waiting to be tamed, singing

You are, you are...
wink
Clocks! Those lyrics are amazing. You just can't help but sing along.

pleep: I think you can tell just about everything u need 2 know about a person just by looking at them.

Your physical appearance shapes the individual you become.
Haven't you heard looks can be deceiving?
RomanceRe: I Can Tell A Lot About A Guy by superbloke(m): 10:28am On Dec 27, 2012
pleep: Everything, ppl just look like their personality. I am judgmental and proud! grin

When you meet a killer you can see it in their face, their, walk their eyes. how often have you seen a hardcore criminal that looked friendly and approachable? ppl need to stop BSing, its a 6th sense we are all born with
You obviously haven't met a serial killer. If you have, you didn't realise he's one.

PoliticsRe: Ogun Debt Reduced From N87Billion To N63Billion by superbloke(m): 9:12am On Dec 24, 2012
anonimi: Because that part makes no sense as well.
The ex-PDP, ex-ANPP Amosun inherited 51b that rose by 71% in less than one year to 87b. Someone has posted that maybe it was from interest accruing on the initial debt.
Could interest be at 71%?
Let us not forget that Amosun took over from his thieving former collaborator, OGD in May 2011 and the debt has now reduced from its peak to 63b!!!
She is obviously manipulating the figures. . . and to think that Amosun is a chartered accountant huh

We should learn to scrutinise what the politicians tell us very very well.
Anyway, you just might be right. However, i won't be surprised if OGD did collect an irresponsible loan at a rediculous interest rate. After all, it wasn't unusual for those ex-governors to collect loans at ridiculous interests and then pocket such loans and put their states in debt.

PoliticsRe: Ogun Debt Reduced From N87Billion To N63Billion by superbloke(m): 5:48pm On Dec 23, 2012
anonimi: Is it just me or someone else also sees that the Honourable(?) Commissioner's figures don't add up.
Inherited 51b, which suddenly becomes 87b and is now reduced to 63b and somebody should shout Hallelujah!!!

Not forgetting that she admits that the past administration they are trying to demonise left 300m ecological fund intact huh
While OGD was a thief, it's obvious the ex-PDP and ex-ANPP man, Amosun is also a thief.

What is the difference between six and half a dozen?
I think it's just you. You failed to quote the part where she said that liabilities inherited had added to the debt over time.
PoliticsRe: Why Is Prof Achebe's Name On NL Hall Of Shame? by superbloke(m): 4:45pm On Dec 23, 2012
afam4eva: I really don't take a lot of things on Nairaland seriously. No wonder Nairaland has never won any award while the likes of Linda Ikeji, Bella naija etc have won tons of award. This site has become a tribal assembly where tribal warlord congregate and join their hands in fellowship to spread hate and bigotry. Even the mods are also promiting hate and tribalism through their direct and indirect encouragement and inciting machinations. We really don't care what Nairaland thinks of Achebe but what the world think of him. He's one of the most respected Africans and very few people can match his achievement in the literary circles. The opinions of a few no-gooders will not change the respect he commands in the community of superior wisdom.
Look who's talking. Kettle calling pot black.

LiteratureRe: The Fate Of Nigerian Writers by superbloke(m): 11:40am On Dec 22, 2012
Redmosquito: @Bolded Well Yes! I must agree with you, When I wrote African Nerd, to be sincere, I didnt expect any likers, I thought Nigerians were just after the romantic and village setting stuff. But @ the second bolded, I av never seen anyone who wrote a story that deviated thta has deviated from village folklore and romance and stuff. I think thats why I even want to write my own stories.
In short I think that the current state of Nigerian Stories is getting too Old. We need new blood. I am waiting for a writer that will bring sci fic and mythology into writing
. Not just the ones that will come and cry about government and the village life and love and normal everyday life. I thinks thats what we all want. Someone who will take that bold step and challenge the norm. undecided
grin grin grin grin
Can't wait for that.
