Only a Chief Mumu would stay back in this Volatile Prison of a Country with it's high rate of Insecurity. Very low quality and low standard of Living for most of it's Citizens. A Passport that's not respected even by its African peers.

If you are so smart, as smart as you believe you are, then why can't you go to Canada, a developed Country and Test your smarts with the very best the world has to offer? You want to be a Big fish in this putrid, infested, toxic little pond called Nigeria. Go ahead.

Do not acknowledge the first response telling you that a statement of account is enough. It isn't and your application would be rejected.

Refer to the link below from the Canada Government website. It states:

For proof, you must get official letters from any banks or financial institutions where you’re keeping money.

Letter(s) must

be printed on the financial institution’s letterhead
include their contact information (address, telephone number and email address)
include your name
list outstanding debts such as credit card debts and loans
include, for each current bank and investment account, the
account numbers
date each account was opened
current balance of each account
average balance for the past 6 months

Good morning house, please if i'm using my savings account for POF, would the 6MONTHS statement of account be enough proof or i still need a letter from my bank ?
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 8 by Suspectzero(m): 12:53pm On Jul 24, 2019
You are ignorant of the process. Don't mislead people. The Account Statement will not have everything required by CIC which the letter would.

Refer to the link below from the Canada Government website: It clearly states "For proof, you must get official letters from any banks or financial institutions where you’re keeping money."

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/documents/proof-funds.html

Silversurfer1:
It's not an actual letter. It's a statement of account. You don't need a letter from your bank. What is the letter going to state? That it's your money?

Look around your Nigerian community...It is INFERIOIR. Nothing to do with conditioning. The proof is in the pudding.

Litmus:
I lol when I read Nigerians say, ' I agree South Africa, America or whatever should impose Visa on Nigeria because we only want the good Nigerians let in these countries'. I lol because Nigerians don't understand the true nature of what's going on. The truth is that, the average black persons, in those Nations, let's say in Jamaica or South Africa don't want to see your black ass Nigerian doctors in no hospitals, nor your black engineers, shop owners, accountants, chemists, pharmacists, civil servants or any such "good Nigerians". They become resentfull and start asking themselves and their authorities why can't those positions occupied by these so called good Nigerians be occupied by them. However, if the positions held by these so called good Nigerians were occupied by Indians , Chinese, Arabs or whites, they wouldn't notice and therefore wouldn't complain. This happens because blacks have been conditioned over time to look on themselves as inferior.
TravelRe: South Africa Mulls Visa-free Status For Nigeria, China, India by Suspectzero(m): 4:47pm On Jul 15, 2019
Ignorance is not the problem. Nigerians just don't give a fawk.

It's like saying our leaders need good orientation on what good leadership is. They already know what it is. They too just don't give a fawk.

Bunch of animals. Look at the blacks in Ghetto America...Bunch of animals in a civilized land. It'a pre-historic curse.

chukxie:
Welcome initiative. The only problem is Nigerians WILL abuse the gesture. Red-eyed Nigerians go spoil market further there. Truth be told, a lot of Nigerians need proper and solid orientation before traveling abroad. They need to be told engaging in crimes not only damages our nation's image but it shuts the doors against genuine and hardworking Nigerians. They also need to be told of the importance of respecting the laws of any country they go to. If we respect ourselves, people will respect us.

I've done quite a bit of research on this myself. Getting into Canada won't be a problem so long as you're a permanent resident, that is you have your COPR. It's the country you'll be transiting through that you should beware of to make sure they'll let you through with limited time on your passport. I suggest you inquire from the airline you plan to use if your passport expiry date would be a problem before you purchase their ticket.

VECOH1:
Good evening all, Pls I would like to know if it is advisable to travel to Canada 3 months to the passport expiration date.
Are there possibilities of having challenges at the port of entry in Canada?
It is quite hard renewing International passport these days.
I would appreciate feedback from anyone knowledgeable about this.
Thanks.

Use this link to Calculate your scores, Just answer the questions then you'll know what your score for a draw would be. Take it from there and start gathering your documents to prove everything you answered to e.g Age(Passport), Experience (work reference letter), English (IELTS Results), Education (ECA) etc

I just ran the simulation with your stats. Your score is 478. My Boy, pack your bags, you are ready for Canada!

Yes it is compulsory to fill in your jobs for the last 10 years. Even the gaps of unemployment should be filled as "unemployed".

No you don't have to provide a reference letter for each job. You only need to provide employment letter(s) for the skilled jobs you wish to use to claim work experience points for.

Congrats @beeodun, but please, for Ontario provincial nominee. Is it compulsory to provide last ten years job experience under 'work history' column when completing the forms. Does that mean you now have to provide reference letters for each of these jobs? Any advise house?

I never used to fancy relocating abroad particularly Canada cos of the weather, but my husband has always been open to it, and whenever he brings up the topic i always brush it aside without giving it any consideration, because we were comfortable so why will I want to put myself through unnecessary stress?

Sometimes late 2016, the company my husband was working with decided to leave Nigeria due to the economic recession and that was how the rug was pulled from under our feet. We were still managing well as we had opened a retail Pharmacy outlet just before the incident, but things kept getting tougher.

Never heard of Canadian Express Entry until June 2018 when my husband's friend and colleague told us they've gotten Canada PR through the Express Entry and were relocating. They explained the whole process and we realized that we also stand a chance. So i was like if they can do it then we too can.

So our journey begins, i was so gingered that i became the main champion of the whole process, my husband was like POF is too much (about 7M for a family of 4) as we had eaten deep into our savings trying to expand our business but this time I was the reassuring him that we can do it.
I am the primary applicant due to age as we are both Pharmacist, I researched like i was doing a PhD thesis. Now if he asks how I'll cope with the cold (cos my tolerability to cold weather even AC is very low), my response now is people there don't have two heads , if they can survive the cold, i too will.

At every step of the way, it has been God. We started the whole process with shishi in our account, saved for my ECA with PEBC from my meager salary (civil servant) and the little profit from the new business. We both read like "tomorrow no dey" for IELTS cos we know how we struggled for every kobo.

We demolished IELTS like bulldozer and started rallying family and friends and within 1 week we raised about 4.5m. (A real miracle!). Due to worries that the value of Naira might crash the way it happened in 2015/2016, we opened a joint dorm a/c for the POF. I also added my PFA statement (25% of my RSA) as buffer, just in case.

By December my husband's ECA was ready and so also was the POF (40% gift deed and the rest was Deed of sale for some properties). Now my ECA (from PEBC) was all that's standing between me and creating profile. Got my ECA on January 1st and the next day, we dived into the pool with CRS 452 as previously calculated !

A summary of our timeline:

Decision to immigrate - June 2018

IELTS

Lol i just have to laugh at this comment. Calling me a typical Nigerian.

Am i the typical Nigerian that lacked the basic research skills to find out about the genuity of an official government program without resorting to a local forum full of anecdotal stories?

So because i don't wish to criticize people for the length of their PPR story, i should bar myself from asking any questions? I love your logic here.

Nobody owes you anything here. Stop crying about people's choices. And stop projecting ill will onto others. You are imagining things. Paranoia is not good.

Scandinavian02:
Typical Nigerian
If you are not willing to share your experience with us here, then don't ask questions here. Personally, I did not believe EE was real until I came here to read personal stories and also interacted with the people.

I am very sure some of them wish Canadian Government can stop EE after their own COPR.

No wonder it is difficult for us to cooperate. Indians are bringing their people to Canada in droves and here, some people feel they should replace the wooden ladder with an iron one so that it would be difficult for others to climb.

Rather than sharing three lines, it is better you be like the lady that didn't share at all but gave herself away asking more questions.

After getting PPR and not sharing, they move to the sister thread to get information on Landing and once they get into Canada, they severe ties with every other person but themselves and family.

Wicked Nigerians everywhere! No wonder some are planting drugs in the luggage of others for them to die abroad while they enjoy the blood money here.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 7 by Suspectzero(m): 4:27pm On Apr 26, 2019
It's not PPR stories i call nonsense. It's people who pile on others for not writing such stories. The exact way you feel about my choice of words is the same way you make others feel when you and others gang up on them about their PPR write up. You call it culture but what i see is akin to bullying. It's part of what makes this country unbearable to live in. People trying to enforce unnecessary things upon others. I'll repeat that i only see this happening on Nairaland Forum. No other nationality engages this way with others on CanadaVisa. They don't demand emotional PPR stories like you do on here.

jjohndoe83:
You see, you may not agree and we can have different views but this is uncalled for. You're subtly demeaning/infuriating those of us who think it should be shared, there was no need for the bolded. Make your point without snide remarks. You know what? You can choose not to share (as many have done) and no one will kill you, we won't even know and it would not remove from the body of knowledge wharehoused in this place.

This forum has a culture of giving graphic illustrations of each individual's journey, and some of us have grown accustomed to it and, by God's grace, it will not change. If people have benefited fro the thread, it is only reasonable that they should share their story, and in a manner consistent with its tradition. In my modest view, that is not too much to ask.

There's one guy on this thread, Barry.ston, he got PPR recently. You need to read his story, you will almost be brought to tears. That story inspired me in no small way. Honestly, I cannot fully explain myself on the importance of telling a story not just dropping timelines.

I concede that not everyone can do it, and its fine but to term PPR stories "this nonsense" is not so cool.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 7 by Suspectzero(m): 4:14pm On Apr 26, 2019
Then you can easily skip it. Just because you don't gain anything from it doesn't mean other people don't. It's not all about you.

sconp:
True, sharing should be a choice but then sharing helps others gain.

Also, I think not posting anything would be better than posting a PPR script that helps nobody.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 7 by Suspectzero(m): 4:12pm On Apr 26, 2019
The bolded part is your main issue right there. You people want to live vicariously through other people's experiences. Then you get all pissy when you don't get your daily fix.

Look, i'm not against people sharing experiences, it's cool and it's nice. That's why we are here. Ask questions, and have questions answered. The issue is when you start condemning people for not giving you detailed account of their PPR experience. Most of the information gathered on here aren't from PPR experiences, they are from questions and answers to those questions.

So stop fooling yourself about the real reason short PPR stories annoy you. It's not about getting facts, it's about entertainment for most of you. I'm a live and let live kind of person. These people aren't hurting you, they aren't impeding you, they are simply posting freely on a free site. It is not in the place of you and your ilk to bully people over how much they choose to share about their experiences. It's very unnecessary and uncalled for.

You don't see any of this rubbish on CanadaVisa from other nationalities. Only Nigerians.

ladymarshall:
I wanted to say BULL... but I take it back, this is a peaceful thread and we don't want controversy. I respect your opinion sincerely but

@bolded 1, if this was the attitude those answering questions, sharing their experiences in-depth, assisting with IELTS/NOC etc, have had, I do not think this thread will exist and thrive as it has. If we tell everyone here "google is your friend", I do not think you would be here, there is something more you seek (of course besides the fact that nairaland thread is on google).

No one here asking for more depth to PPR stories feel entitled to anything. Active members are all making the same efforts as silent readers. PPR scripts does not feed us, put money in our pockets, give us more opportunities etc. In fact, we can do without the scripts. If it is about timelines, we can as well just stick to following immitracker (not forgetting the fact that people who share their procedural timelines on immitracker do it voluntarily, they do not owe us anything, yet they do it and it benefits us all).

Now do you know how many PPR stories on this thread have become reference points for future applications? Do you know how many follow-up questions and answers have emanated from PPR stories, assisting even non-followers of this thread? Do you know how many indepth PPR stories have helped confused applicants pre and post-AOR? For many questions regarding grey areas which are not specifically answered by IRCC, do you realise that some of the responses we give are just smart guesses and are based on indepth PPR stories which are a positive and successful validation of the process, documents, choices etc we make during EE application?

And yes, there are other sources of information but I can tell you having researched EE from different sources, that with the exception of CIC website in terms of authoritativeness, this thread provides one of the most diverse, indepth and accurate information on EE than any other source (part 1-7). And indepth PPR scripts contribute to that information. Infact one of the most unique benefits of this thread that you would not find on any other platform, is not the hard information, it is the feelings, struggles, fears, determination and victories of successful applicants like you and me which serve as inspiration and motivation and nothing captures this better than indepth PPR scripts. If indeed you want to show gratitude, help, motivate, inspire, encourage and uplift others after you, it is your public service responsibility to this thread to share your PPR story indepth. No one is forcing you, it's your choice as Ifeoma said. But if your heart moves you to share, please kindly do it indepth.
