To you @Amb1042, I deliberately refused to talk about how far my dad was responsible to my late mum. Do you know you will never see my dad outside the house beyond 7:30-8pm? He has a police friend who always came to our house to make my dad go out with him for some beer or some party. My father's response, as I witnessed oneday, was "I have a family O. I have a wife." The police man is married and they are both agemates, in their 7os now. Do you know that the police man, who retired as D.P.O, had a daughter from another woman and till today, the wife is not in good term with him. I don't believe it has anything to do with this generation that, that generation this. Generalisation is evil. There were So many who were irresponsible and wayward in the past generation. Most of the atrocities they committed in their relationships/marriages will shock you. On this generation too, they abound. There are also responsible girls and boys too. Do you that today, seeing my dad always around in the evening at home is playing a big role in my life, even at 25, 400 level law student. You will never see me outside my off campus room beyond 8:pm. What the hell will I be doing outside? So do you think that by the time i get married, i will be going out for parties or bear palour and then return home around 11pm or 1am and then have a very bitter, angry wife crying and staring at me? No! I am not saying that everybody going out in the night are going out for wrong reasons, but the point is: upbringing shape our lives. The present generation are the ones who shape the future generation a lot and I like the way my parents did it. Dad mostly showed us example, he was not the talking type. So we must fight all these defaulted belief systems ravaging our continent. |
Spicywify:Sure, I will raise my kids same way, even better. Seriously we only position girls for marriage, but we don't do so for boys. Dyfunctioned upbringing of children, especially my male sons, is a thing I would not like to do. |
NerdyRudeGyal:Very articulate submission. That's why there's dating/courtship, for the partners to know each other. So many "just" want to get married these days. Foundation is very important, at least, one should know and be convinced that his or her partner loves him or her. So that, as the building begins to rot years to come, their will always be proper maintenance. |
periphetes:Sir, I must say that, you think very well and thank you for your prayers. But how did the man marry the woman? Was it built on love and trust or materialism? It is our duty to find out whether a partner loves us or not at the dating or courtship stage. I believe their are still obvious signs even though she/he was pretending just to get married. |
Lilgabby:I am not beating about the bush sir, what I said is true, neither did I post because I am single and searching, be objective in your reasoning... |
yvelchstores:Thank you... my dad rocks... as to the stupid replies, what you said is true. Lots of them came from dysfunctional, broken homes. |
Amb1045:You lie. Is my dad a simp? The answer is no... if he is, then how did he raise six responsible children? You see the whole thing is your mindset... men like you are the control and domonineering type who think that to be incharge, you have to "Control" the woman. It would have been fine if you control with love and make her do anything you want for yourself. But you want to control to proof that you are a "man" that is where so many men are getting it wrong. |
The lit kit is: I still believe in that biblical injuction that every man should love their wives and they will reciprocate by submitting (not slavery) in return. It works trust me. And another one by man: "Whatever you give to a woman, she will give you double in return". It is true, for me. I have come to discover that if marriage is going to work, you the man will decide. It rests so much on You, that's why God made you the "leader." We are a family of 8: parents, five boys and one girl ( last born), though mum is late. I never saw my dad shout at my mum in our front or anywhere I never saw my dad beat my mum in our front or elsewhere. I never saw my dad maltreat my mum in anyway. He treated her with a lot of respect, he was so drunk in love with her until her last breath. And what did my father get in return? It was worship! My mum literarily worshiped my dad to the extent that my mum never touched her salary personally (not saying if couples decide to handle their salaries in another way, it's wrong). At the end of the month, they will plan with their salaries together on how it's to be used for the family. Till mum took her last breath, she told us that our dad is a man and made her feel like a woman every moment, it counted. That if not for our dad, she would have died earlier. Their love life was intriguingly interesting. Is it that they didn't quarrel? They did, but they made up their minds never to quarrel in front of their kids. My parents have given me the module for my own future marriage. It is a decision I've made, not because my future wife is not going to wrong me. The interesting thing is that they never sat us down to teach us about marriage, but we've learnt from them... I love my dad so much. First son is married and his wife worship him everyday because he has followed the footprints of dad. Look, if you love your wife and treats her as such, you will never struggle to get anything, I mean anything! Be it her loyalty, respect, money, sex, etc. Man up my brothers and decide to love your woman unconditionally, if you are struggling that means you are not playing your card well. Play your card well bro. Your woman will reciprocate double times over, unless she doesn't have an iota of love for you or she married you because of money. So to all the "not women of nowadays crew", marriage still works fine and better. It is still working... |
Op dangers is on your way. If ypu do, your life may be a mess. This precautionary scripture is for your: *That thou mayest regard discretion and that thy lips may keep knowledge. For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honey comb and her mouth is smoother than oil. But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as two edged sword*- (prbvs 5: 2-4) *And why with thou, my son, be ravished by a strange woman and embrace the breasts of a stranger? His own inequities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be golden with cords of his sins. He shall die without instructions and the greatness of his folly he shall go astray*- (vs 20, 22-23) |
tesseract:Just look at yourself, was it a baby that types this for you? |
Gerrard59:Interesting! Sir I will check out the link and reply you.. have already followed You, most of your post on blacks are good for my research. |
MatuzMilla:What is your point exactly? What are you saying? |
OP, you can still be practicing your religion and still apply common sense. Common sense such as hard work, determination, karma etc are natural laws, which was actually set by God. Religion will cage those who choose to be caged by it. Your disappointment isn't the religion but your approach to it. Every religion supports hardwork, patient, perseverance, morals etc. Those are common sense... The only thing is that cluelessness of the govt is making you bitter, you then tranfered your aggression to your religion. |
I have been reading A lot of comments from anti-racist American celebrities like Kenya's Lupita Nyongo, Nigeria's John Boyega. And I am shocked to notice that most Latino Americans are indifferent about racism. One comment came from a Latin America and she expressed disappointment that her fellow Latino Americans are always supporting the just to feel "among". Do you have any opinion as to This? Are you in the US, how true is it? |
WICKEDfucker:My point exactly. |
saintol:This is exactly my point...you nailed it. Even my pastor, Pastor Davide Ibiyeomie, demonstrated it in church. He brought out white handkerchief and back cover of the bible. No human colours like the two. It's sounfortunate. It's their dictionary, they choose the meaning they want to give to words. |
OgiPrincess:That's the assumptions of the whites sir, that is why James had to put it in parentheses. Not that it is true. Just like majority of Africans believe that "dirty no dey kill Africa man" |
With recent spike of protests in the USA and the gloabal proliferatio with which it has boomed, I simply decided to go educate myself more or racism. I have been reading comments here but trust me, most of us are not vast on the topic and it's very dangerous to talk about what you dont know very well openly. In my opinion, black race is the most complicated race in the world. I think this is because, over there you have African Americans or European Africans and African immigrants. Here, you have Africans. African immigrants pally more with whites than African Americans. African Americans tend to be racist towards Africans, following slavery and racism of the whites based on the belief that Africans were lazy, hence failed to develop their continent (reasons vary, though), something hugely underrated. Here in Africa, tribalism is our own racism. so you see? However, in my research, I stumbled on a novel titled "Fire Next Time", by James Baldwin and I felt cold after reading the book, exactly a perfect book to read at this time of US uprising. a lot of media outlets had recommended the book for all Americans at this time. That is the book Obama is currently rereading. On why blacks in Americans hate other blacks, James Baldwin, who used himself as a narrator in the novel said, "White people who had robbed black people of their liberty and who profited by this theft every hour that they lived, had no moral ground on which to stand. they had the judges, the juries, the shortguns, the law, in a word, the power. Negroes in this country and Negroes do not, strictly or legally speaking, exist in any other, are taught really to despise themsleves from the moment their eyes open on the world. This world is white and they are all black. white people hold the power, which means they are superior to blacks (intrisincally, that is so: God decreed it it so) and the world has innumerable ways of making the difference known and felt and feared. Long before this difference and even longer before he understands, it had begun to react it, he has begun to be controlled by it. Black people mainly look down or look up but do not look at each other, not at you, and white people mainly, look away. and the universe is simply a sounding drum. " I criticized this though, what happens to blacks unlearning themslves? on why black use this opportunity to loot shops and turn voilent, the renouned novelist said, "for the horrors of American Negroes, there has been almost no language... why is it that they (whites) achieved their original dominance by stealth and cunning and blood shed and in opposition to the will of heaven and not, as they claim, by heaven's will? And if this is so, then sword they have used so long against others can now, without mercy be used against them." Later the narrator in the book visited a moslem cleric and they discussed about racism. the moslem cleric was of the opinion that racism will never end, the only solution is to create a seperate black nation out of the US. James argued that, that will never happen, unless US ceases to be world power, like England who surrendered their tight single empire, after they lost world power status. your argument and opininions are highly welcomed. |
Gwan2:Sir, I have written down this insightful post on my note. I will use it positively in the future. It's very brilliant. I hv also followed you. This is my mail: ogbwandi@yahoo.com. I will appreciate if you get back to me. I want to discuss more things with you. Thanks. |
This is grossly misleading... God! Are you sure you ain't a Muslim? |
It has become cultural. Women are raised to build the home and never leave their marriage. So while building the home, even if the man is abusing, they will endure it. Another thing is our judgmental attitude. If a woman leaves her home, she's a witch or a wicked woman for most of us. I pity our women. They go through a lot. |
Ariza:Chai this is a brilliant girl. I want to use this piece for my work, permit pls. |
Lies from the pit of ignorance. I know a man in my place who married Housa woman and she later died. The man married another woman from ou tribe, that is, our tribal sister. Till today that woman has been given her terrible issues. The man remembers his Housa wife every day and cries, wishing he could bring her back. The Housa woman loved him so much. These things have nothing to do with tribe, it's individualistic. the way people were brought up in most cases. |
It's quite unfortunate we have priotized materialism so much in relationships. A man may be broke now, it doesn't mean he will be broke forever. Some women may be richer now but five years to come the man will hit jackpot of success. See, as long as the man has a vision and he's working towards it, why not just stick with him? That the man is not offering anything does not give you a room to misbehave or cheat . Relationship comes with commitment and both partners should stick to it. Marry a man with a vision and together with your own vision, you guys will be great together. Some women feel that if they are giving a man money, it is a taboo, no. As long as you know, this is a man you love and will settle down with. |
OP THE ONLY WAY OUT IS TO TELL YOUR WIFE. AND ARE YOU SURE THAT SHE AND YOUR WIFE IS NOT TRYING TO TRICK YOU? WOULD A WIFE WHO KNOWS THAT HER SISTER IS FINER THAN HER BE GOING OUT EVERYDAY TO GOSSIP. FROM YOUR WRITE UP, YOU HAVE ALREADY CHEATED IN YOUR MIND, IT'S JUST WAITING FOR PHYSICAL MANIFESTATION. BE A MAN BRO. MAN UP SIR! DON'T BE A COWARD. IT'S A TRAP! RUN! TALK TO YOUR WIFE! SHE WILL GIVE YOU 24 HOUR SEX AND LOOK FOR A WAY TO KEEP HER SISTER OFF YOU! I REPEAT: MAN UP! |
Now let me go straight to the point, here is my story. I started dating one beautiful girl back then in 2014, we were in love until something came up. There was a time I came home and she visited, that was the beginning of our separation, my mother warned me to stay away from her that she like her.. OP this was where your problem started. So you mean because your mum doesn't like her was the only reason you broke up with her? Is it your mother that was supposed to marry her? Are you not the one to marry her. Me? Who are you to tell me not to marry a woman I have loved and decided to marry. Who are you to tell that? Especially when it's based on those silly reasons such as her tribe. See, all these things always happen, assuming you were strong and bold enough to stand your ground, your mum wouldn't have had any choice . Some men are less becoming men these days.I mean... just look at your story. It's a pity you have made your mum your God. You have really lost genuine love from a genuine woman who loved you tenderly. Her story may not be true, as she wants to pay you back for all the pains you have cost her. It is too late at this point. Call your mum and tell her to bring you out of the mess because you carwoardly allowed her to ruin your life. Hear me: not that girl, but it's your mum that ruined your life. And by the way, what reasons did she give, as to why she doesn't like the girl? Did you even care to ask? OP your behaviour was really childish! Haba! |
Please I am considering becoming a sailor and make it a life career... but I am a bit confused because the job seems to be like a very strange course, dont even know any sailor that can be my mentor and motivator. Every information will serve as my research. Professional counselling pls. Thanks! |
Sixfeetbelle:Totally flawed statement... Please I know you are not a virgin, don't discredit those who are. Who told you that virgins are not expressive enough? There are introverts and extroverts and it has nothing to do with being a virgin or not. Keep virgins out of this... |
But why is it that most black Africans who marry whites hardly comes back home with them? |
This was a question raised by one of our Church members, in Salvation Ministries (service is fully online now, Papa connects from studio), in one of our love and relationship service that normally holds at 4:30 pm, every Sunday. The presiding Pastor, David Ibiyeomie, said it was a commendable observation, noting that we copy the western world in almost everything. By right, it is the man that is supposed to wed the man, simce he's the one paying the pride price. That means it should be John weds Mary, not Mary weds John. The man of God further noted that the Church will consider this issue. What's your take on this? |
Jaqenhghar:You are not living in abroad... |
QwarkdFerengi:and women are rarely commenting o! |
