RomanceRe: My Wife Ties Wrapper A Lot At Home Says A NIGERIAN Man by Syncan(m): 5:25pm On Dec 01, 2012
Sweetlemon: I know we women don't like hearing the truth most esp when it concerns things like this, but your own case is serious. You berra @ least learn from this case so you don't make same mistakes when you marry. And don't tell me "my husband does not complain" or "my husband loves me the way I am" cos most men are not very good communicators and so will not tell you plainly how they feel sometimes because they don't want to hurt your feelings. But they show all the signs of their discomfort so it's left to us to learn how to decode them
Now that's what I call Point blank!

mondi_cheeks: How about he opens that big mouth of his and tell her how he feels about it... I don't understand how he would think she is illiterate. angry she also has the right to wear what she feels comfortable in, not everything is about him and wat he wants. She is a fvcking mother, how do u think the kids especially the girls if their mother continues roaming around the house in shorts showing off her butt cheekshuh I guess common sense isn't that common, has he for a moment thought about how putting on excessively revealing clothes would affect his childrenhuh If he is clever enough to blubber abt it to everyone else why can't he tell his wife directly, instead of gossiping and insulting her behind her back. If he doesnt know that a successful marriage relies in good communication skills, why in the hell did he get married in the first place angry shameless weak men who know how to complain and insult but they are never clever enough to come up wit a sensible solution
greatgod2012: Sincerely, im a woman and i hate that stuff, its not that tying wrapper has taken away all her good qualities like intelligence, submission, fear of God,love/affection, etc, but it has taken away one of d most important ingredients of attraction, which is "romance" tying wrapper presents u as a non-romantic wife, if she continues like that, she may push d man out. Most times, we women forget that men are most attracted with our looks.........having children should not be an excuse for us not to maintain those thing our hubby see in us and appreciate about us. So it is essential for us women to always present ourselves romantic for our men.......changing that makes us look like an hypocrite, i.e pretending to be romantic when we are not. Lets keep d fire burning.
As for me, im with 3 kids, and im always concerned about my looks, hair-do, etc.......always in sexy shorts, with my carmisol, and when it is evening, always in my see-thru night gown, always looking like how i was then. It helps to save marriages from external influence.
May God help us all.
Two different women and two different approach to the problemhuh
Christianity EtcRe: $240 And $100 For Blessings By Matthew Ashimolowo by Syncan(m): 9:08am On Nov 30, 2012
bankylan: I will not give unto God, that which costs me nothing....Folks, it is a matter of spiritual maturity. The principle of getting is by giving. I don't pray for money, when I need one, I look for an opportunity to sow a seed. When you plant a seed, harvest must come. A lot of Christians pray for money for years, and have not seen money. The basic principle is by sowing seed. Pastor Ashimolowo is a seed sower, that is why God has blessed him. A black man owing a TV STATION in the UK..YOU can confirm KICC TV. The church's land was taken years ago for use by the British authority, this year they gave them a large expanse of land, and still compensated the church.You can also confirm this online. How much is 340usd to give God? Mind you, the money does not come to his pocket. I have not seen any wealthy Christian who is not a giver.....A lot of guys here are placing eternal curses on themselves, and I pity many people here.
My life is a testimony of the benefits of seed sowing. When I was jobless, I sowed.I had the opportunity of being paid by church as an instrumentalist, and I could have as well seen myself as a poor jobless graduate. But for once, I never regarded myself as one of the masses. I declined a bait of being given a hand-out'. I started sowing. God has given a job, a wife, a daughter, a house,and a future. For the rest of my life, I want to sow seed. Every opportunity I have, I want to sow seed. This is the only thing that works for me as a Christian. There is a PERSON of Christ, and a PRINCIPLE of Christ. His principle is what you need to succeed on earth, His person-for the sake of eternity. One of His principles is to be a seed sower, if you want harvest.
None of you critics give to the poor as much as Pastor Matthew, none of you has made impact on this planet like him. Pastor Matthew himself is a seed sower that has given cars and houses to many people. Whatever you say does not reduce him, it only impairs your own destiny. Mind you, I am not his advocate, I am only concerned about the level of ignorance in this part of the world and how devil has conditioned the mind of people. For those who like to give to the poor, before you give to the poor, give your first fruit, your tithe, your offering, give to your parents, your family, then o the poor.This is the order of heaven.Many give to the poor to get the accolades of men, but God is a jealous God. Cain's offering was rejected just because he did not give God his first fruit. Guys, may God enlighten you the more. But as for me, I want to be a seed sower for the rest of my life. And, I will not give unto God that which costs me nothing.
I doubt if any one has a problem with the act of giving or "sowing seed" as the case may be, more so, basing the visible financial wealth of individual as a sign of their closeness to God is erroneous. However, unless you've proclaimed the said pastor a saint;some of his actions will have to be criticized. $240,$100 for blessing? give me break, this is not sowing seed, this is selling "blessing".

ypzilanti: Do you know that China has 300 billionaires? Billionaires in dollars. Buddhist Billionaires.

Also China has one million millionaires. Millionaires in dollars. Buddhist Millionaires.

If your country is progressing, the citizens will progress too.

If you like sow from now to next year as a citizen of Somalia or Mali,or Afghanistan...good luck with reaping anything.

If the Church is really interested in the physical well being of its members, they should start asking the government to do its work to transform lives.
You've said it all
Christianity EtcRe: $240 And $100 For Blessings By Matthew Ashimolowo by Syncan(m): 8:02am On Nov 30, 2012
Bestlyf: It all boils down to personal understanding. I was in one of his meeting sometimes this year whe he called for $100, which I don't have at the time and I wanted give something by all means(my personal decision). I did give what I had and moved on. I guess my testimony must have been greater than those who gave the $100. Its a faith issue.
I'm happy you have a testimony in your lips but please do not ascribe it to this fraud of money for blessing, He that put the testimony in your life showed examples all over scripture. Learn it now and stop supporting such fraud else He decides to prove it to you Himself..I do not wish that for you.

sanb: There are certain things I’ll take into account through my observation to determine if he’s the right one for me.

•He’s someone who’ll have the fear of God in him;
•I need to see myself spending the rest of my life with him and having kids with him;
•He’ll be someone I can trust and has my best interest at heart as well as being my best friend;
•Acknowledging and showing him respect and appreciation as the head of the home;
•He’s someone who’ll appreciate my efforts as his spouse i.e. a team player and not a competitor as well as willing to compromise;
•Good character i.e. not arrogant, rude or egocentric;
•Good sense of humour i.e. he makes me smile; console and share my sorrow, pain or other difficulties with me and wipe my tears away;
•He’ll need to set good attainable goals for himself and gets productive in achieving them. This will certainly motivate me to do my best as his spouse to help him achieve them;
•I’ll take account of how he handles money; it’s a key factor in a marriage. Does he know how to save for the rainy day or does he go all the way to spend without thinking; and
•I’ll also like him to have a good dress sense/code which doesn’t have to be all designer gear.
hahahaha...what an Impressive check list you've got here...I wish you luck though, but remember you've only got to decide from the candidates available, and We are more often than not...limited. grin However most of what you post here really depends on you.

True2myself24: Last month he told me that he wanted me to stay with him for the long term but to understand that he's starting from scratch so if I can handle it hopefully when things work out we can get married. I love him, I really do. Sometimes the path of least resistance does seem easier because my family knows about him and so do my friends and they all want to meet him but I want to wait till he has a little more going for himself. And I'm not sure if me wanting that is shallow of me.
I would not call it shallow yet...I will rather say you're thinking of financial security...which is what every reasonable lady does. The difference is how much influence should it have in the choice of a partner, allowing it to take center stage as to blindfold you from other rare qualities is what makes one shallow. Meeting your family will not be a bad Idea if he is ready to meet them...money or no money. The financial stage at which your partner is when you make commitments has nothing to do with how a relationship finally turns out. The journey is normally a very long one to be determined by just how much coins he's got in his pocket when he paid for your first Ice cream. He's got some good qualities I must say...if you're a good judge of character...and sometimes life is about taking some chances. If you believe in God, i will say PRAY.

@OP,It doesn't look like you're under any pressure from the guy in question,as a matter of fact you didn't tell us if he wants to commit with you. You said"...and we have been speaking since...", so all these thoughts are simply going on in your head in anticipation of him wanting to take it to the next level right? Except otherwise,he might not just be into commitment until he finds his footing,...he is naija afterall..., if you're under pressure from others (interested males), then Its time to chat with your guy seriously, clear the air about your feelings and i believe it will be revealing. If he seriously wants you to stay, then you've just described a rare gem. Grab with two hands!

RomanceRe: Sex Before Marriage, Mortal Or Venial Sin? by Syncan(m): 4:58pm On Nov 04, 2012
mc~evans:
I have a friend who will not believe that sex before marriage is a mortal sin. Is there anywhere in Church doctrine that specifically spells out that it is?
I think from your post, both of you agree that it is a sin, just that you do not agree on if it is mortal or venial.that's if it leads to death or does not (as stated in the bible). Well the church that calls it "mortal and venial sins" still puts forward these criteria as what makes a sin grave. 1. Is it a sin? 2. Do you know that it is a sin? 3. Did you commit it with full knowledge that it is a sin? If yes to all, then you've gravely offended (mortal sin).

@Jidegirl, i would like ur advice on avoiding future clashes with my siblings..
In that case, you need to discuss with your mum about allowing your kids attend without payment 'cos i do not see what else is in it for you(as per family business). Make your case politely but firm. If it does not end up in your favor, seek for alternatives such as a lower fees school or a better paid job if they must study there. I'm not inclined to look at it as a family business thing if there is nothing in it for you apart from payment for the job you do.

FamilyRe: Should I Pay Their School Fees? by Syncan(m): 2:00pm On Nov 03, 2012
@OP, It depends on what "...run the school with her" in your post entails. Do you share profit? or,are you just paid like every other staff; but probably higher due to your administrative position? This is business remember? and depending on your answer to the above question, your stake in it could be ascertained. If your stake is high (you share in the profit) then you have to pay as other teachers, knowing that its in the business, and in this case, the question of affordability may not arise except the quality of education handed out in your school could be got for less else where.
