Nope...the genetic studies just suggests some levels of admixture; and the genetic signatures usd in d article (sickle cell trait, Hbs, Y-chromosome) tell very little of d genetic profile and history of a population- a full autosomal analysis of these populations overwhelmingly shows something else |
Great thinkers and political philosophers really believed in revolution. Check out the writings of John Locke, the philosophy of US founding fathers, Zhou dynasty of China and the ancient Greeks. What people who don't really understand democracy don't understand is that in democracy, revolution is built into the system after years on reforms and civilization of the raw concept. That revolution is election and that is why electoral fraud is the single most putrid abuse of democracy because it stifles the ability of the majority to determine how they are governed. The ancient revolution model burns down cities in an attempt to bring down governments that acts against their 'common interest' mainly because the governments then did not have life spans, the leader leads till death and most likely hands over to his child (heir) like what happened in North Korea recently. Any body who give this idea of revolution a 10 minutes thought will understand that it is really childish and borne more out of exuberance to call for a revolution against a government with 4 to 10 years life span which is so minute in the life of a country. Revolution is actually having terminal elections for leaders like Fashola and Ikedi Ohakim for the people to decide whether the leader is still serving their 'common interest' It means the moral and political need for all to go out and vote in line with policies and programs of a leader. It also means wisdom to safeguard the present civilization, no matter how little while expressing out desire for change of government- via polling booths. This is actually one of the reason I believe that GEJ is far more intelligent that the collection of the folks that call him clueless because he is strongly committed to defending our rights to revolts, but this time via the polling booths and our voting cards. No matter how attractive the word 'revolution' as is being presently called for may sound to young(not age wise but depth) minds, it is the single strongest forces of retrogression. Under the spell of 'revolution', we may not just have a country anymore. Under 'revolution fever' we can give extremists and unstable and brainwashed minds free reign over our affairs because thinkers and intelligent people can never support revolution where there is free and fair election. The 'revolution' I support today is the one that will allow me to cast my vote for or against my leaders and seeing my vote being counted in the evening of the election day. Even if my choice of candidate did not prevail, I have had my say and the majority have decided what 'we' should do, after all, I can not be wiser than tens of millions of people. That revolution empowered Imo people to vote out Ikedi Ohakim and Ondo people to vote in Mimiko without destroying their market places, loss of life and burning down their cities. In 2015, I will participate in another revolution, to determine who will replace my State Governor and who will be my President for the next four years.
Cant recall the last time i read this sort of brilliant commentary of Depth on NL... |

take dat: Which court and when was he arraigned? GEJ should get the EFCC to prosecute him if they have anything on him, I am tired of all these allegations and nothing happening except if most of the allegations are mere slander and propaganda.Tinubu was arraigned by the Code of Conduct Tribunal, though it was later dismissed based on a technicality....by the way, I did take this new list of 'allegations' any seriously a i take info from any group (interest) in Nigeria today; my 1st comment and interest in this thread was to ask @Seant01 who was taking for 'evidences' if he would ask for such 'evidences' if the 'allegations' were against the other side. |
seanet01: Another Word don enter Dictionary. "UNDAGOING" No wonder 80% of Nigeria's graduates are glorified school cert. Holders. Flipping Rubbish!Dont be an eediot my frnd..eva heard of'texting talk' b4? |
This is just silly. If these allegations are true, don't you think the EFCC will be on their arsè by now? The PDP desperatly wants Lagos and they would have used the EFCC to get it. Or you think we forgot that the EFCC investigated Tinubu and found nothing? These guys are miles in front of the PDP and the PDP have been left with sitting on their hands
Tinubu is presenting undagoing Corruptn cases in court for the past 2 yrs...plz mk sure of yr facts b4 spitting them in public |
seanet01: Evidence Ke? For where dem want see evidence? Una no see say the claims are hogwash. They are pdp agentsYea Right! Like if it was about the oda side, you wud be talking about 'evidences'..you guys on both sides shld continue d Propaganda wars as long as you like. The rest of us wud see where it leaves u ppl |
Ada Nri1: Since when did GEJ began to wield such powers on PDP?I wonda o..how can he be getting whateva person he wants into top PDP offices almost singlehandedly (national chairman, NEC, and maybe this)? People shld relax abeg, no need disturbing ourselves ova tins like dis joor - he is afterall 'weak' and 'clueless'...*laughs* |
Hahaha! I so much love this woman with her reforms. The list of pensioners must be verified. It is common knowledge that up to 50% of the pensioners are ghost pensioners. This woman is doing wonders blocking a lit of loopholes and brainless Nigerians are calling for her sack. We all know how many billions is being saved from Police salary after the conclusion of biometric verification of policemen. Also, it is not by magic that the FIRS was able to generate 3.8 trillion naira in the 9 months ended September when their target for the whole year was 3.2 trillion naira. This woman has been blocking lots of loopholes and the thieves can't just stand her.
Now, may God bless you...was it not this same Police Pensions that dis same NOI under order by GEJ discoverd grand thift of billions perpetuatd by top officials of d Police Pension Office who bought choice real estate properties with the loot, amongst odas? These officials are currently in court and hv had those properties seizd by d court....NOI abeg continue with yr work jare, but just go and see dese Reps membas when you hv d time |
Condolences to the General, and to his family; and to the immediate family of the lady and her friends...... May God grant them the fortitude to bear the loss |
idirect: Nobody should compare these two gentlemen with GEJ and GMB. Romney lost a free and fair election but GMB lost a free but not fair election per say'..a free but not fair election per say'- what d hell are u talking about? |
This in my opinion is wasteful cos there is an existing facility already in place (even though the govt argues that it is not adequate)... This is also what is happening across the nation as some state govts build new Govt houses even though they had old ones. These kinds of wastages should stop, period |
Shollypopz: My GOD!! The Ghanaian girl's face is perfect.Absolutely...this was my exact impression on seeing the pics. God must really be the Ultimate sculptor, lol. She is stunning.. |

ypzilanti: NOI is partly responsible for the subsidy fraud because she did not uncover the massive fraud in the sector until Nigerians yelled 'FOUL!'. That is a huge oversight on her part. Also, she is virtually the prime minister of Nigeria with the tag 'co-ordinating minister' implying that she supervises our lack luster team of ineffective political jobbers masquerading as ministers. She can start by applying pressure on the minister of works to get on with infrastructure works already. All the achievements you list above are a few percentage points here or there. We need radical cuts in public spending on inefficient civil servants. A mass purge of dead wood and transparent recruitment of young graduates and professionals from the private sector is needed. she is moving at the slow pace of her Oga Jonathan. She should resign if he refuses to move at a fast enough pace.Smtimes I just look at sm of you chaps running yr mouth around and i 'smile'...this was yr response to that guy's post: 'few percentage point..' in deed |

I am a 'Black' African. That is an IDENTITY, just like your 'tribal'/ethnic group Identity. There is really nothing Biological about it. If (some)Africans who are tropical/supertropically adapted and Dark-skinned (a wide range that hinges on Brown) with a shared recent historical experience, choose to regard themselves by the term 'Black' Africans , which significant a general Identity for them , me thinks issokay. |
Bwahahaha...i laugh at d crass HYPOCRISM displayd by sm known goons here who usuali masquerade around as 'Apostles of Probity'. Any surprises? Nay; Eventually everyone is transparent enough....*ilaughinfull* |
take dat: I am doubtful if GEJ is going to take necessary action on this report cos if he meant business he wouldn't have proposed over a N100billion for some of these MDA's in the 2013 budget. GEJ lacks the political will to carry out most of these reforms and the NA is not also helping matters. No amount of pressure can be exerted on an unwilling and inconsistent government!you know already that I disagree with you on GEJ lacking 'the political will to carry out these reforms'. There are actually imminent signs that he will do this very very soon; maybe the time that was taken was to do a much detailed job cos the changes are not only courageous but also very sensitive (in terms of possible jobs lost etc). On the why budgetary provisions were made for these Agencies in 2013, it is cos most of them are actually set up by Acts of Parliament or Decrees, and only the NA make the final approval of the mergers and/or scrapping of some of these Agencies . When the changes are effected anyways, the underutilized budget of some of the Agencies can be vired or returned as Unspent; it is certainly wise to provide monies for these Agencies and then return it than not providing for them at all when one is not sure of the exact time the necessary legal backings would be obtained for some of them. Recall, the criticism that met the decision of the Govt not to budget for the unbundled PHCN companies for 2013 cos it believes that it would have privatized the companies by then ( in this instance, the Govt could do such cos they already have the legal backing to privatize the unbundled companies via the Power Reform 2005 Act, so wouldn't need any other approval from the NA). Have a little faith guy... |
A committee was set up to review the committee's report and as soon as the committee submits its report, another committee will be set up to look into it and the cycle continues
What have you contributed now apart from making noise? |
Unknown Member: [b]What percentage of women are r@ped like that?!I just want to say dat i whole-heartedly agree with most of what you just wrote. I am a guy but also a human being; I cant stand anything that attempts to demean women in any form whatsoeva..... Ra,pe is a heinous crime; as a matter of fact, I consider Intentional murder and Treason as the only worse crimes.
