honeric01: Worthless liars like you don't deserve my attention because you and your likes can kill a whole village just for mammon. Name ONE indicted person since the advent of boko haram that indicted GMB or forever remain an asslicker to corruption and the corrupt elite.Goon cool down, dont kill yourself now; there would be lot of time for that. I have NEVER said that Buhari is a terroist, NEVER; I dont play silly games like that. Unlike stu.pid people like you , there are things people like us would not play with. It is Buhari and many other Northern leaders Irresponsibility by indirectly supporting the insurgency going on in the end (and dont get it twisted, it is an insurgency of some Northerners against the Nigerian State for Political power) by not doing anything to stop it while a few others support it directly, that am against. But that is a different matter. For your info, I supported Buhari in the last elections; i regret doing so now though. |
Elueme: Just the way he dudn't arrest members of the ruling party whom he said knew about the Boko haram but didn't arrest themExactly! But his 'brain' cant fathom the Logic na. What were you expecting? Rationality is not a best fit for an Extremist you know; so he wouldnt get it. By the way, Una even get time responding to those 'points'. There are just some things that should not be with a response. |
samfibby: less than 10% of nigerians patronize air transport, the govt is willing to invest 300 billion naira, whereas the rail transport which has the potential to transport more than 40% will do well with 100 billion naira if well channeled. The govt just doesnt get its priority straight. These kind of decisions are responsible for keeping a large percentage of nigerians in perpetual poverty. The bail-outs given to the banking sector have not brought about significant change, now the the aviation sector wants its own share of the cake. Clueless and corrupt leaders. The question is how much of that money will go as kick backs to the governors and executives.I dont just understand why some of you Noise making perpetual critics would not have the decency to at least check your 'facts' or even criticize with some level of consistency. If the thread was about how the Aviation Industry was collapsing cos of old airplanes or God forbid, about a plane crash due to old aircrafts, the thread would hve been crawling with you guys Shouting at the top of your voices. By the way, this govt has done more for the Railways than Aviation. Today, most of the tracks over the country have been or/and are been rehabilitated. The Lagos Intra-state Train service, Lagos-Ilorin, Lagos-Zungeru, Minna-Kano, Minna-Kaduna, Intra-Kaduna and many other routes along the Lagos-Kano track have been resuscitated (the only thing keeping the Full Lagos-Kano is a bridge between Zungeru and Minna which NRC says should be done before the end of the year). The 2nd main line PH-Maiduguri track is also undergoing rehabilitation. The Standard Guage Ajaokuta-Aladja-Warri track that has been in the works since Shagari has been completed finally (if you stay along this corridor like myself you would have seen the beautiful tracks) except for the navigation aids which NRC says will be done before the end of the 1st quarter of next year. Similarly, the Standard guage Abuja-Kaduna track construction has not stopped and is more than 45% complete whilst the Abuja Light rail project that has been stalled previously has restarted (if you stay in buja and environs, you would see the tracks been laid continuously). The contract for the start of the Standard Double-Track Lagos-Ibadan track and its funding has been concluded recently (though am not sure that actual work has started there). In simple terms, there has never been more work done in the railways sector since the independence of Nigeria than in the last 3 years . This is for a sector where the railways were virtually comatose with workers not paid, NRC offices and the tracks overgrown with weeds http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/transformation-of-the-transport-sector/124912/ All the PROPAGANDA going round that GEJ is not doing anything is just that, PROPAGANDA. Check info out by yourself esp before asserting it in public. |
greateros: thanks bro!Oh so, it was even the PDP that orchestrated the post-election violence and killed those innocent corpers and others AFTER just winning the election; while the CPC later went to bail the about 500 people who were arrested for the crime. Wondaful!! What cant the Human Mind belief? We are all capable of believing things which we know to be untrue, and then, when we are finally proved wrong , impudently twisting the facts so as to show that we were right. Intellectually, it is possible to carry on this process for an indefinite time: the only check on it is that sooner or later a false belief bumps up against a solid reality, usually on a battlefield ---- George Orwell .... I *smh* for Northerners; REALITY would soon set in (then bot the fooolish few and the docile mass would be licking their brutalized wounds). DECEIT is easy; Deceiving oneself even easier BUT the consequences...... |

honeric01: Souless devil, wetin u no understand for this article?See this Mu.mu-ish nonentity o. U no know your mate again wey u dey quote dat comment? U dey crazee ni? U guys in the north should continue to fo.ol yrselves and blame even God for the mindlessness of the terrorists amongst you in a blind bid to protect the 'image' of Allah or Islam. Na who una unova blame- CIA< MOSSAD, M15, Igbos, Govt, GEJ, Iran, Neighboring countries, poverty, 'injustice', CAN, Northern Christians,JTF and even recently Kanuris- anybody as long as it does not affect the 'image' of Islam which some of you guys now cherish as though it is a CULT. U guys should keep it up; keep propagating the Narrative of the BH extremists, Na who dem dey bomb day in day out? ...But wait o,lets even just pretend for a moment and say you guys are right: FG is BH. Then it follows that Sambo, Mark, Tambuwal, Murktar (4 out of 5 top offices in the country), Min of Defense, NSA, Chief of Defense staff, Chief of Air Staff, IGP, Comptroller General of Customs, half of the GOCs in the Army, more than half of the top echelon of the Security Services, Chairmen and/or Vices of the Committees of the NA on Defense, Interior, Intelligence, Army, Police, etc, the 19 Northern Governors, former Military rulers and in fact all the top leaders in the north esp the Emirs are ALL Big 'FOOOOLs' for agreeing to collaborate with Southerners led by GEJ to destroy their own backyard by using the JTF (your own leaders must really HATE you guys; wetin una do?). Oh by the way, this would also mean that the GOC in charge of Bono and Ybe, plus that Col. Sani the spokesman of JTF in Borno and in fact about half of the men of the JTF who are Northern Muslims are also 'FOOOOls' for killing their own people Or at least not rejecting such 'orders' and crying out. Maybe, just maybe what some persons have been saying abut the size of the 'brains' of northerners (which I have always fought against) is right after all. Now i cant obviously make sense of all these but since you are a very foolish guy, you may want to plz help me understand all the foolishness, No? Again, keep blaming the govt for BH, while southerners should also keep blaming Buhari for BH; when BH finish dealing with all of you, maybe you guys would have learnt the hard way that there are just some things that one does not play regional or political games with. Keep playing with DEATH. |
Can smone plz tell d eediot who wrote this thrash to undastad that Communication is a 2-way treat. I know there is a severe need for sm persons to engage in PROPAGANDA these days but for God's sake at least let ppl undastad what d hell you are trying to say. Big grammar and sweetening words wud not do |
manny4life: Em how will this work, will the airlines lease the plane or will the govt have a stake in the airlines, please how will this work? Besides, how and why is the govt planning to float "FOUR MORE AIRLINES"? What has gone wrong in this country? Govt was unable to manage Nigerian Air, now they want to increase the wahala by x5? Na wa o, Nigerian govt, you people are too much.It is a LOAN or rather a guarantee that would involve d intervention fund domicile in d CBN to directly deal with the manufacturers who would supply d aircrafts and then any local airline that needs it would apply and can get it afta meeting some criteria; they would then pay back the money for the aircraft to the CBN over time depending on the prior arrangement with it. This just complements other moves by d Aviation Min and d FG to resuscitate d Aviation industry like the removal of duties/VAT in d importation of aircrafts (whole or spare parts) Or the remodelling of all existing terminals and d building of new ones..... Also, govt is not setting up 4 new airlines; private investors are doing so - 1 of dem has already been recently licensd. The govt is only overseeing the setting up of a National Carrier but it does not even intend to invest in it. The plan is to secure a top international airline that is technically sound as a core investor and then sell the oda shares to Nigerians in a public offer. Personally, i dont like d fact that d core investor wud be foreign and we wud still call it a National Carrier; mere sentiments i know but dat is how i feel. Anyways, i wish dis Aviatn Min who is one of d Ministers working well |
yuzedo: TF?! N11B!!!!!Hahaha.... Thief, Ole..no let them catch you o |
PDP shld SHUT their mouths joor. Are u guys not tired of these silly politics instead of conc on d real issues...we want alternative Real suggestns that can work from opposing parties anywhere in 9ja, not silly political tactdrums. Am tired of too much talk (noise), no action |
Gbawe: Absolutely. The man came into power supported by the most corrupt in the land. In fact, it was embarrassing how so many corrupt men and AGIPs (any government in power) united to endorse and support 'project GEJ' before last year's election.Just SHUT it there. ACN propaganda on this hv failed, period. Instead of us to look at how we can solve a problem that has been wit us since d 1970s by at least 1st supporting d passage of d PIB bill, sm of u guys just want to politicize everything. Respond directly to d fact that Ribadu himself said some of d figures they usd were not independently verified or just SHUT it. How does dat concern GEJ esp when most of these things happend b4 he took office |
femliany: GEJ's. Is looting and covering and Nigerians are lookingSHUT yr mouth you eediot. Virtually ALL of the bad practices and infractures the incomplete report indicatd happend way b4 GEJ became President. GEJ didnt cause d problem, he is rectifying them. If this report had not been so shamelessly politicizd, the focus wud hv been in putting pressure on d NA to pass d PIB bill which d President has sent to them (we all were essentially insulting d President, demanding he shld quickly send d bill to d NA which he has since done) cos MOST of d recommendatns of d committee are already in d very critical PIB bill dat wud completely turn-around d opaque oil industry and make it more open.....on dis issue of unverified data, it was Ribadu himself that wrote d govt that d committee did not verify d data it usd to come to SOME of its findings and then askd d govt to verify d figures demselves; so eida the govt takes its time to verify d data as Ribadu suggestd Or d govt sends d report back to d committee to complete its work COS there is no way govt can legally use d findings of a committee that admittd on its report that its figures hv not been verified/reconcild to retrieve monies from Oil companies even if we know sm of dem are still owing us. It is just as simple as that; there's no need been overtly Emotional about this |
TRUTHTELA: For those that are in the KNOW, why would an OPEC country not only be importing petroleum products, the country is perpetually in SCARCITY of fuelNigeria has not been perpetually in Scarcity of fuel, there has been regular full supply for the last 2-3 yrs. The hitches in supply just startd 2-3 months ago cos of a broken pipeline and the refusal or inability of major oil marketers to import fuel cos of bank hesitantion to finance such imports following the arrest and prosecutn of sm marketers. This temporary hitch wud likely pass soon |
It was gathered that the signal operator had gone to defecate and asked his assistant to take over but his assistant forgot, leading to the collision. What? Bwahahahaha..... |
centje: Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...nigeria is jst a joke. Train!!!...train that jst resumed operation few 'days' ago already colliding. That means wen the whole routes are linked, one day we will hear news of how a train skipped and crushed a whole villa. Nansense!!! Wat are we actually good at?? Maybe cracking joke...hahahahahahaha...like i said nigeria is jst a joke!Yea..keep laughing at your ignorance..hahahaha...*mtscheeeee* Who told you that trains just started running 'days' ago? Intra-Lagos train services, Lagos-Ibadan has been running regularly for months now; Lagos-Zungeru, Minna-Kano have also resumed (only a bridge between Zungeru and Minna is stopping a full Lagos-Kano train service after many years of been comatosed from fully resuming) while some of its branches like Minna-Kaduna has been running for some time now. You guys should stop bad-mouthing Nigeria. You can curse past leaders who completely abandoned the railways; leave Nigeria out of it |
The Police have just said that nobody escaped from its detention, and have warned Media Houses of their roles in security and stability of the nation---- STV News ....lets see how this will play out |
Na God go punish all of una bastard. Na so una dey shout in front of newspaper later una go dey stuff dollars inside cap. All of una including una pikin pikin no go die beta.
Who wan give dem money. Money no dey flow from d Presidency to the NA again, dat na one of d problem |
Great.... Good for her |
REUTERS Standard & Poor's upgraded Nigeria's credit rating on Wednesday because of improved financial stability and optimism over reforms to the banking and electricity sectors. Nigeria is among the world's top 10 crude oil exporters and a key supplier to the United States, China and India. It is Africa's second-largest economy after South Africa. The ratings agency raised its long-term foreign and local currency sovereign credit rating to BB- with a stable outlook, three notches below investment grade, from B+. This brings its view in line with Fitch's rating, reports Reuters. Fellow ratings agency Moody's expanded its coverage to include Nigeria on Wednesday, assigning a Ba3 rating with a stable outlook. Moody's said it also expanded its coverage to Kenya and Zambia. http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/standard-poor-upgrades-nigeria-s-credit-rating/129943/ http://www.channelstv.com/home/2012/11/07/moodys-rating-gives-nigeria-a-stable-outlook/ |

mathskill: Always trust the Nigerian politician to display hypocracy. When everyone knows he donated to Romneys election.hahaha...so d US now receive foreign donations? It is not a must dat every person shld comment you know; we already hv more than our feel of very fooolish ppl here |
@take dat, less i forget. The letter publishd by Vanguard was also publish by other major newspapers yterday and today, and critically it was directd QUOTED. One expects either Ribadu or Soare to disown it if it was just a 'fabricatn' by d Ministry and i highly doubt that... |
take dat: Guy this purported letter is the handiwork of some Government officials conspiring with their spin doctors in the media. I wonder why Diezani would have kept quiet all along even with the barrage of insults and some calling for her head if the content of the purported letter was true. This attempt is an after thought or some damage control. You completely dont get it. The committee was not set up to investigate d Ministry or any oda institution and individual for that matter if by 'investigate' you mean finding out corruption practices of these institutions and individuals. This is what those ppl trying to hijack dis for political gains hv done but d terms of reference of d committee was to suggest the best payment system bw the Nigerian state and oil companies, and then identity any outstanding payments due to d state that has not yet been paid by d oil companies- this is what the committee was set up to do. They discoverd that Nigeria has been practising very inefficient and opaque systems for decades that short-changd d nation and made recommendations on how to change d system (and as you hv previously said, we already knew about this which was why pressure was put on d President to quicken d presentd of d PIB bill to d NA since MOST of these recommendatns are already containd in d bill- he has already done so); the committee 2nd recommendatn was to ask d govt to set up a machinery to recover sm payments that they identified were due the state. It was in d course of these findings that they suggestd that sm persons may have corruptd demselves for decades cos of the opaque process without been specific since it was not in their perview (Surprise! Didnt we really know this?). Now, is it not curious that what some persons have been interestd in is the people who took advantage of d system to line up their pocket and i belief cos they believe they can get at the president when most of these people and ALL of d practices happend long b4 he became president. People have taken advantage of the system since d 1970s yes and as long as it is practicable at least some of them shld be brought to book (and dis is important), but why are sm of d ppl trying to politicize dis not also say anything about how we can make d system more transparent and actually try to SOLVE d problem (they original purpose of d committee in d 1st place)? Why are they not putting any pressure on d NA to pass d PIB bill since most of d recommendatns of d committee that wud turn-around d oil industry and mk it much less prone to inefficiency, waste and corruptn, are in d bill. What about d Solutions |

take dat: I'll give no credence to the purported letter written by Ribadu to the minister unless Ribadu himself admits to it. Why should I trust a Diezani who earlier claimed that the report submitted to her a month before public knowledge was just a "Mere Draft" and the ministry would have to reconcile it only for us to know that the draft she claimed was the final report. This singular act of hers show she was trying to cover up somethingThis is mighty wondaful of you, the way you just put common sense and logic on their heads. Dieziani was right- this was not a final report but a draft as dis letter from the same Ribadu shows since SOME of d data used were not reconciled nor independently verified. Here is what happend in terms of d process: Ribadu (or someone from the committee) leaked the report to the press to give the impression that the Minister was sitting on the report and wanting to distort it, when the same Ribadu already askd the Minister to independently verify and reconcile the data and when people started to bad mouth the Minister on delaying the report for 2 weeks, the same Ribadu did not openly say that they were d people that askd her to so; this is for want of a stronger word plainly Deceitful. The link in the 2nd comment on this thread also suggests that d committee just usd the cost of the raw feed of gas stock as price at which NLNG sold gas oversees instead of the the cost of processd and transportd gas, and then simply passd d difference as part of d monies the country lost from NLNG (assuming this info from NLNG is correct).... By d way, could you point out where in d report that people where specifically indictd instead of just reinterating what we already knew: that the Oil industry has for decades been inefficiently and opaquely ran, thereby spuring corruptn and waste. Frankly, many of u guys didnt look at the recommendations of the committee (most of which are in d PIB bill currently in d National Assembly) but chose to just point fingers at people in a bid to somehow get at GEJ when d report findings has very little to do with him |
Johndoe100: This guy is just another clown. I spent time on a racist web forum while the results were coming in. The reactions of the rednecks were so gratifying to me, especially as they knew I am a black man.I can imagine. Those redneck guys are just clowns and its always gr8t to see them sad (lose or wrong), lol |
The controversy over the integrity of the Nuhu Ribadu Committee on Petroleum has continued with fresh facts emerging from the Ministry of Petroleum that some data were presented in the report without independent verification. In a letter purportedly written by Mallam Nuhu Ribadu and Olasupo Sasore, Secretary of the committee, to the Minister of Petroleum, Mrs. Diezani Allison-Madueke, the former anti-graft chief cited inadequate time for the assignment as being responsible for the committee’s inability to independently verify some of the data presented to it by stakeholders. “This is our final report of the assignment. Accordingly, this report supersedes earlier copies used for presentations and discussions. “The data used in this report was presented by various stakeholders who made submissions to the Task Force in the course of our assignment at various dates, which have been disclosed in relevant sections of the report. Due to time frame of the assignment, some of the data used could not be independently verified and the Task Force recommends that the government should conduct such necessary verifications and reconciliations,” sources quoted the said letter from Ribadu. Ribadu and his vice chairman in the committee, Mr. Steve Oronsaye, had openly disagreed on the report last week when it was presented to President Goodluck Jonathan, an episode which was said to have thoroughly embarrassed, the nation’s number one man. Ordinarily, a member who disagrees with a committee’s report writes a minority report but it was a surprise to many members of the public why Mr. Oronsanye chose to verbally and openly disagree with Mal. Ribadu. Mr. Oronsaye had said that the committee did not follow due process in compiling the report but Ribadu alleged that Mr. Oronsaye tried to scuttle the submission of the report and that he (Oronsaye) had been compromised. Mr. Mal. Ribadu told journalists that Oronsaye did attend meetings of the committee and that the only time he attended was the day the committee was to deliberate on the need for Adax Petroleum to refund $1.5 billion to the federal government Mr. Oronsaye tried to stop. The Chairman said he wept for Nigeria because according to him, some people were obviously planted in the committee and that those people were compromised. Mr. Oronsaye was appointed into the Board of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation within the period. He is also a member of the board of the Central Bank of Nigeria. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/11/ribadu-report-cttee-did-not-verify-some-data/ |
