Many of you are just disgraceful. A man died and you guys are arguing bout 'tribes'. *smh* |
Demdem: [s][/s]Exactly what a fanatic does; how they react to info that destroys their beliefs or narratives. Sorry i wasted my time on you, this is the price one pays for posting on NL these days. Keep your beliefs. Our arguments and points are already on the thread for any one to peruse. |
take dat: The day before yesterday it was an orchestrated attempt at smearing the wife of an ACN governor by PDP through a Faceless Blogger. Yesterday was for a Faceless Caller claiming to be BH and naming Buhari as their mediator cos PDP wants to slander him. God will surely expose their satanic plotGuy, Propaganda is now been used by virtually every interest in Nigeria now, it is very unfortunate but it is the truth and that's way I dont just believe any 'news' or 'opinions' from a Nigerian 'source' or about Nigeria except I put it to some form of verification. To make it look like it is only PDP is deceitful plz; ACN itself is unparalleled in the use of such (one of the reasons why am presently getting cold towards them). What a few of us need to do is to continue to hold every body (interest) to their own information and insist that the right info been stay in the public place. We may also hope that people would quit been lazy and check-out info themselves. Cos as you said, cos BH suggested Buhari as a mediator does not mean that he is a 'sponsor' of the group. I personally have my problem with Buhari which I have stated in another comment (ie acting Irresponsibly just like some northern elites by doing almost nothing) but the statement from BH does not mean that he is a sponsor at all; it also does not exonerate him of course. |
Demdem: The Federal Government has sensationally disclosed that it now has strong evidence on the identity of those involved in the recurrent bomb attacks across the country. Following this, President Goodluck Jonathan has given an express order to security agencies to go after these terrorists and their sponsors, staing that they were testing his resolve to deal decisively with them. You are frankly looking pathetic now @Demdem; it is not cowardly to admit a mistake, it is actually a sign of Strength. We have "strong LINKS as to those involved in this terror war on Nigeria and Nigerians" (which was what was actually QUOTED as the words of the President and what really matters) and even the newspaper's interpretation of that quote "strong evidence on the identity of those involved in the recurrent bomb attacks across the country" IS NOT THE SAME as "there is list of the sponsors of BH on the President's desk" (this was what you said). There quoted statement of the President (the 1st statement) is an intelligent security-proof way of saying the govt was opening LINKS, though strong ones (and you obviously have no clue what this technical term mean in the Intelligence community) to those people INVOLVED in the violence (the words 'involved' is a smart way of been non-specific); NOW compare to your own interpretation of that same quote where you said there was a LIST (that is a word that connotes CERTAINTY which is completely different from the actual words used by the President 'links') and you also said that this 'list' contained the 'sponsors of BH' when the quote you were interpreting (or rather misinterpreting) used the term 'those people involved' (which could be mean BH terroists themselves, their sympthizers or their sponsors ie not specific- just as those people who understand security matters would do). Oh by the way, in another thread you added that this fathom 'list' of yours was on the desk of the president and that he was not doing anything about it cos he was BH himself. Can you see the train of thought and why you had to distort and misinterpret that quote to make your dubious point. This is what a propagandist (or one who engage in propaganda) does; and you were obviously not very smart about it . To think that you have been been using this as argument many times about GEJ been part of BH cos he has their 'list' says a lot. |
take dat: @ Taharqa, are you going to deny that Ali Ndume didn't say to the SSS that Vice President Namadi Sambo who also occupies the post of the Deputy National Leader of PDP was aware of his dealings with BH |
Wadeoye: okay i hv lookd at it again and it isnt nice, so i wud do some....d word was only meant in d context of a debate but i wud withdraw it forthwith |
take dat: Zanna and Ndume left ANPP for PDP cos there were sure that PDP will serve as a cover for their nefarious activities. Modu Sherrif does not have immunity but he is a free man today cos he has good rapport with GEJ.Jesus! @take dat, am not defending PDP (why the hell would i defend d PDP? I didnt support GEJ in d last electn cos of PDP). You are not getting my argument- this is not about PARTY politics, it is about REGIONAL politics and power. Some northern elites conduct (or 'non-conduct' really) hv contributd to the continuatn of this crisis; some of them are certainly in PDP, others in the odas parties while odas are not even in any party- parties itself really doesnt mata cos Nigerian politicians hv NO alliance to parties but to Access to Power, anything that helps them to get it is what is important at that time. And as i hv said previously these support by some northern elites to d insurgency is MOSTLY indirect (ie not doing anything to stop it), dats why d security agencies hv not got anything direct on them, and witout a level of evidence of involvement not much arresting can be done. Just on d side, i hv never said Tinubu was corrupt (i suspect so since he is a Nigerian politician and sm things associatd with him- but i cant say it directly cos am not sure); wot i bliv you are confusing is that i bring him in when i talk about corruptn and d judiciary. That is cos he has bn taken to court for more than 2yrs and his case hv not movd much even though he is a high-profile opponent of govt precisely cos our slow judicial process makes the 'war against corruptn' very slow. So i usually use his eg wheneva i intend to argue for the appointment of Special Judges for Corruption cases by d CJN- which is d most realistic way of speeding up corruption cases and fighting corruptn faster. Never meant he was corrupt; and as you can see GEJ has 'taken' him to court a long time ago |
Wadeoye: Again, it is easier to wake up a man who is truly asleep than a man who is pretending to be asleep - but I will say, stop deceiving yourself. Give me names of CPC members who have been named as supporters or sponsors of BH. Already we have names of PDP members who have been named in BH saga... Why do you people like deceiving yourself instead of facing the real problem confronting you? How do you hope to solve your problems when you have failed delibrately to appreciate and face the real cause?Let me just advice you my frnd: am not like those persons you can make silly claims for and go scot free, k? If you try to distort anything, you will be sufficiently checkd... Read that comment again and see in which context i said SOME northern elites were 'supporting' d insurgency (i also made an extensive comment on pg4 where i contrastd dis crisis and dat of d ND and the rxtn of d elites of both regions)...... By d way, only 3 names hv been definitely linkd as suspects to BH- Sheriff, Ndume and Zanna. The 1st was a 2 -time ANPP gov who is d current chairman of their board of trustees, while the oda 2 are PDP membas who were in ANPP as at last yr. The 3 of dem are from Borno and are northern politicians; you do the maths |
Demdem: “Let me use this occasion to reassure Nigerians and members of the international communities that we now have strong links as to those involved in this terror war on Nigeria and Nigerians. I have directed security operatives to go after them, no matter where they may be hiding. Also, I am using this opportunity to warn that those who choose to hide under our new freedom to perpetrate evil against our people shall have no hiding place. This administration is fully determined and able to deal with all threats and agents of instability, who continue to test the resolve of our nation and its democratic institutions and leadership. So saying that govt has ' strong links as to those perpetuating d violence' now equals govt has ' a LIST of d sponsors of BH'? My God! Do you hv any clue what 'links' mean in the Intelligence terminology? And you hv bn repeating this claim of a 'list' on the 'desk of the president' like foreva and bn using it to make arguments. Once again, do you not get ashamd of distorting info and using propaganda to make points? GOSH!! |
Demdem: And whats the difference beteen PDP and Evil Boko. Azazi told us all that they are the same or did this Ijaw man also liedWhy do u just spit nonsense and deliberately distort info most times @Demdem? Aren't you ashamd of yrself at times? |
take dat: GEJ- BH are in my Government. This is you deliberately trying to select and distort info. 1st, you left out Sheriff and d fact that both Zanna and Ndume were ANPP membas till last yr (sheriff is still ANPP) cos you know it would damage yr narrative. There's no doubt that there are PDP membas who support BH activities, just as there are CPC, ANPP and odas nonpartisan individuals But they all have one thing in common- they are northerners who want Power. This support is mostly indirect by doing nothing to stop it, which in a case of insurgency is as good as supporting dem directly- all of which have now ran off their hands cos just like d Tuaregs in Mali was to undastad, core terroists do not share any purpose or power with oda people. By d way, d President meant that there were BH sympathizers in all levels of govt (which shld be a no-brainer), not that they were BH membas in his govt as though he appointd them- you guys shld stop this propaganda on dis point cos it is disgusting and very unhelpful. Thank God u got d Azazi statement almost right (although he was talking about those ppl who lost to GEJ in d primaries been in support of d violence). Just a point of interest though, dat same Azazi was also said to hv adviced GEJ to arrest Buhari b4 he left, am curious why u guys 'conveniently' forget that part |
Demdem: Exactly. The Retardeen publicly told us all that he has with him the list of Evil Boko sponsors. Why are we not asking what he has done so far with this list with him?Where the hell did you get this info? |
dapachez: I guess you were in pluto when boko haram started and whed during Yaradua's regiem when their leaders were killed. Do get your facts right before posting on public forums please. Buhari has condemed their attacks on several occasions google is your friend. That aside I don't know why all these retired top generals can't subdue or look for ways to curb or totally eliminate this boko scrouge just the way yaradua used jonathan as vice president to tame the millitants in the niger delta. Guess its a monster that they can't control anymore. So go nack to your post after you visit google and edit. Do have a lovely weekendWhich condemnations are you talking about. The few condemnations that Buhari hv releasd against d activities of BH gives the impression of statements made so that 'they will not say I didnt make any statement'. This was exactly what Buhari and CPC did during d post-election crisis; he only came out to openly condemn the violence and calm his supporters only afta much pressure was placed on him, including threats from international powers, before then hd kept mute even while hundreds of Nigerians where bn killd by his supporters (by d way, d CPC Now claim dat dat violence was perpetuatd by d PDP- imagine that). This was a height of IRRESPONSIBILITY, and I was so disgustd by it that they lost my support even though i had supportd Buhari during d election... When we say that some northern leadas (whether they are in PDP, CPC, ANPP etc Or not even in any party) support d BH INSURGENCY, it is not that they support them directly (Buhari almost certainly does not) but that they hv virtuali abandond efforts by d govt to destroy d sect- this is a deliberate indirect support. Crisis anywherd cant be solvd except d Elites lead d process, you hv just given a very good eg- the Niger Delta crisis. It was the Niger Delta elites who actuali ended that crisis by supporting at that time d leadaship of Yar'adua. Yar'adua himself knew little of what was happening, infact it was GEJ as you also said, that went to d creek to do d real job with those boys- if the ND elites didnt cooperate, that crisis wud still be with us today. When last did you see most northern elites do d same? The northern govs only set up a committee on BH 3 months ago, while d Borno Elders Council has bn 'fighting' JTF since they startd operatn much more than they hv 'fought' BH itself... Plz give me a break! |
alaoeri: So on point, few among those that really understand what happening in Nigeria. What's pains me most is Nigerians just comment about a issue without reasoning what's the outcome of those senators arrested linked with BH & the worst scenario is that they are all PDP bt ppl won't flash back rather blame Buhari. Am 100 % sure that the FG really know what's going on only time 'll tell. Those 2 senators were ANPP until last yr; Ali Sheriff, d former governor of Borno who is at d centre of this as the guy who brought religious elements who would later be BH is still d Chairman board of trustees of ANPP. There are of course PDP membas as well as CPC apologists involvd, including religious and community leadas- what they all have in common is that they are NORTHERNERS. Most of these people and odas like them do not probably sponsor BH directly, there only hv gotten into contact in d past with elements that would become part of BH Or encouraging them indirectly by not doing anything cos they bliv they can gain politically from it- this is where a name like Buhari comes in. It is a conspiracy of silence by some northern leadas and people, with only a few of them supporting a small core islamic group directly |
dridowu: Buhari ? I think PDP shd appoint within dmsef because all d state dat BOKO HARAM are functioning are PDP STATE, morever all dos links to boko haram dy are all PDP card members. So i believe INDIRECTLYThe 2 bases of BH, Borno and Yobe have been ANPP since 1999 and still are. Try again with anoda propaganda, just this time try to be a little 'original' |
taharqa: Am not interestd in dis topic and wudnt give any answers but am really interestd in dose calling Yar'adua. I want to know what he did apart from Amnesty and reductn of fuel prices (how reductn of fuel prices is supposd to be an achievement beats me). Yar'adua was a good man but his 3yrs were a waste in my view, virtuali nothing was done; infact, if any president had continued wit some of d tins Obj was doing (regardless of sm of his own faults) this country wud hv bn much beta BUT Yar'adua stalled everything....PS: Am allegic to ignorant comments, so PLZ know mk sure u know d hell of what u are saying b4 responding.Oh well, have gone through the thread afta I wrote this and as i expectd, NO response. That's just about right cos my anger at d time Yar'adua wasted afta some of d few good things OBJ did, would have very generously descended on any ignorant poster that wantd to argue otherwise.... Just so am clear, Yar'adua seem a good man (and was certainly a refreshing break from a 'dictatorial' OBJ)but he not only did virtuali nothing but very annoyingly stalld sm necessary things which shld have been continued |

Wsdm: ...And he started the dredging of the rivers that if continued would have cushion the effect of the flood that now settles in Jonathan's home town. The dredging of the River niger has bn completed. You guys shld stop spitting lies.. And there is almost nothing a 5 ft dredge river can do in d face of water levels that was 10-15ft high; this was why it seemd d dredgd river didnt do much during d floods. Now stop spreading lies or is it ignorance |
thelastPope: Can you list what he did because I can't see much of what he did. We all concluded he did next to nothing but gave him some slack because of his health issues. Yaradua's 3 years where 3 years of stand still in Nigeria. Nothing happened. |
fijiano202: best president is late musa yar adua,if Gej could archive half of what he did, nigeria would be alot betaYar'adua? Wondaful!.... Would you be kind enuf to list out what he did for Nigeria ;let me help you wit d 2 u were going to state- Reductn of fuel prices AND Amnesty. You may now list odas in d 'archive'..this wud be interesting! |
I do not want to comment on this thread deeply cos of its very sensitive nature (ie so I dont come as insensitive in my analysis) but just to say: I do not believe ANY story or report written by a Nigerian or in Nigeria (whether in a 'newspaper' Or other medium) without some form of verification. Am sorry but that is how the today's 'media' have forced me to so do; call it an adaptive behavior, you may not be too far off. Anyways, I wish God's grace on the person who experienced this or those persons in Nigeria (and anywhere in the world) who experience something like this. I've got the say that the experience described by the @OP is an harrowing one. |
Sincere 9gerian: I supported and voted for Jonathan because I saw in him a person who will most likely develop all parts of the country fairly uniformly. I voted and supported Jonathan because of the following reasons:Good for you. Just to say i fully attest to states of these projects you have so clearly enumerated.... All the usual noisemakers would not touch this comment of course; it is too fact-filld for their liking. It is only a mata of time |
IykeD: Guilty conscience ma'm! Who do you plan to deceive? Why should your kid(s) be in a secondary school in the UK?Yea, i noticed this too. Very shameful. The elites (esp those in govt) in dis country needs to be lined up and properly floggd...their penchant for anything not Nigerian is disgraceful |
You dey craze for yansh... ![]() Stop wagging your tongue if you don't know what a conspiracy theory is. Doesn't mean it's a fact but only suggesting a possibility of money exchanging hands duh!
My frnd if you want to write a ' conspiracy theorem' novel or smthing, go ahead and do so. Just make d fiction a little more believable to yr readers than you just did on this thread... All d best on yr aspiring career |
gbogboti: Honestly, Nigerians are too gullible. To God! So all of you saying shame on PM news are this blind? You think London Police are not humans? You think they can't bow down to diplomatic pressure? Are we saying "there can be smoke without fire?". To every rumour, there are droplets of truth. The politicians know we are very gullible, ethic and ethno-political. I "ll be back...'Diplomatic pressure' from whom? You mean from d Oyo state govt? Or is it d FG (who control Nigerian diplomacy if you dont already know) dat is PDP dat would help an Oyo state govt dat is ACN to put pressure on an institution like London Met?... Na wa. By d way, dont come back, lol; just dey go |
I'm suspecting the story got covered up. Maybe the Governor and his crew found a way to sweep the whole episode under the carpet. Even the London Metropolitan police will cave in under some political pressure.
So the governor of Oyo has the power to put the London Metropolitan police under 'some political pressure' such that they 'caved in'? Wondaful!.... I honestly dont know where sm of you keep yr brains b4 commenting. It beats me every time |
Kslib: Call me lazy, but I wont even bother myself in reading that stuff, rather i will use the time to find out the current price of garr!.. Is there anything in the report worth looking at.. Lets be realistic,i haven't seen/noticed anything improving since Good luck came into office..what has changed?nothing..Good! keep looking at d price of dem gar.ri, am very sure that such information gathering and analysis would be very useful in the future (in your future)- you know we cant where d nx big thing would come from, maybe it would be in d analysis of d price. Keep spending your entire time doing that, okay?..... By d way, how much is the price of gar.ri today? |
@OP, i like yr suggestn about setting oneself on fire in order to start a revolution. You intend to do this any time soon? Goodluck on that |
And for your info @obailala if you didnt notice, GEJ didnt say anything here. This is d opinion of a newspaper (Leadership Newspaper for that matter) |
obailala: GEJ should tell us something we've not heard before. Nigerians know he's an absolute waste of space however he should prove us wrong by throwing just 1 person behind bars... Just 1 person please! Even if its just for 1 year.Shut you mouth anoda ignorant noisemaker. GEJ cannot throw any one to jail; he does not have such powers, dat's d job of d judiciary. What he can do is to indict people (which he has done) and take those so indictd to the courts (which he is doing in batches- more than 40 of these individuals and companies have already been taken to court). The play is now with d court system, but here lies d problem. The Nigerian 'colonial' judicial system where a land case can still be under adjudication for more than 20yrs is notoriously slow, which was why apart from entire judicial reforms, virtuali every person or group who mata hv been putting pressure on various presidents to lead d effort to get Special courts or at least Special Judges dedicatd to corruptn cases only. GEJ has since finally agreed and publicly urgd d CJN to appoint d judges. The CJN promisd to do so but for more than 3months now, she has not appointd d judges And very curiously virtuali every person who hv bn making noise on tjis issue are now completely SILENT, yet they expect GEJ to convict people quick. Is GEJ now suppose to be a judge. Let us continue to foo.l ourselves as a people by just beenn content to point our finger at others (this time round mostly at GEJ) without really doing anything about it; we will yet see where dat attitude leads us. |
NovusHomo: No, the Cameroonians did no wrong. But Nigerian officials did nothing to prevent the deadly effect of Cameroon's action. Why do we have morons leading us? What are we going to do about it?Am going to make some pints here since I already commented on this thread. First, this is Natural Disaster. And as you rightly said, the Cameroonians did nothing wrong here; whatever man-made mistakes that were made was by Nigeria. This is in 2 areas: whether enough warnings was issued by the govt AND whether Nigeria provided a buffer dam to store and regulate any discharges from the Cameroonian side as been agreed for more than 15 years? 1st, the FG gave sufficient warnings repeatedly (through NIMET and the Ministry of Environment) to states intimating them of the dangers of rainfall this year. I recall that NIMET started given these warnings in March and that they later said they wrote to all the governors asking them to prepare for the expected floods. Much later, the Min of Environment also gave such warnings- esp after Adamawa, Benue and parts of the north were flooded- to the states at the downstream of the rivers and the people living in its immediate paths (including some living on the river's plains itself) to evacuate and move to higher ground. Not much was done. It is the responsibility of the state governments to evacuate people; the FG only gives warnings and aids the states in the face of any response. 2nd, the FG (whose direct responsibility itself to do so) FAILED to build the buffer dam on the Benue river axis that would have controlled the volume of water coming in from Cameroon, and help to reduce the effects of the the water that were later released from our own Kainji nd Shiroro dams a little lighter. Such a dam was finally started in 2010 after past Nigerian FG delays (2 years ago) and was to have been completed in 2014, and so was not ready for this year's natural disaster. The President visited the dam last week (the dam under construction and the visit was on TV) and the work was said to be about 60% completed. The president said during that visit that more monies have been released to the contractor so that the project can be completed by the end of 2013, in stead of 2014. We hope this promise holds. There is no doubt that we could have done much better( both the govts at different levels and even the public to some extent) in responding to this disaster. One can only hope that we have learnt our lessons (but do we ever?). The critical thing now is the care of those people who were affected and displaced by the floods both in the immediate and in the long run as they go back to their already devastated homes. ...Oh by the way, we all need to really pray the the Nkos Volcanic Lake in Cameroon does not erupt before the end of 2013 (ie before the buffer dam is finished) cos if it does..well, lets just hope for our sake that it doesn't. |
Billyonaire: Educated man, every little success leads to a final success. Councillorship position not withstanding, its an indicator that ACN rigged its way. 2 overturns from ACN to PDP shows that the process was fraudulent, not free, not fair. One can not be wrong to say that its possible that the Governor was rigged in.Bros, Fash won his election properly o. People voted for him cos of performance in his 1st term; plus it was conducted by INEC. I agree with you sha on the others. All political parties tries to rig elections in Nija at every opportunity. ACN are good at it, esp with their famed Thuggery and Propaganda machine; CPC used a lot of underage in the last election; ANPP have generously rigged themselves in the states where they control; I dont need to tell you about PDP na, how 'wonderful' they can be in this respect. They all try everything. The only reason way it is not as successful as it used to is cos the FG is now beginning to clamp down on it. Shikena. On this particular case, SHAME on ACN (if na another party na, their propaganda machine for don dey full throttle). |

Enugu-PH expressway. Current status still several bad portions but remedial works currently ongoing to restore bad sections, while we await plans for complete reconstruction.
