olivertwist: The same people that lead the fuel subsidy protest were the same people that fought against the cabal when GEJ was kept under Turai's bed.
****
How 'forgetful' some people can be. Now, criminals like Bode George etc are the ones getting National Honours from GEJ while the true democrats are been labelled 'political terrorists. SMH. Time will tell.
Who told you that Gej gave national awards to Bode George? You are actuali d 3rd person saying dis; plz tell- when did dis happen?
Politics › Re: Subsidy Protest Was Staged - Jonathan by taharqa:
I disagree to some extend wit the president on dis one. Myself and most of d persons who opposed d way d subsidy removal was handled did so cos we strongly thought d govt shld hv done certain things 1st b4 asking d rest of us to bear d consequences of d mess created by generations of same ruling elites(many of us were not even against d removal of d subsidy per say if certain steps were taken b4 d removal ). The January event was mainly many 9jarians electing to vent dier frustrations on d state of d nation and DEMANDING changes on how they were been governed going forward- channelling such frustrations tru the subsidy issue. Though on hindsight, it is very believable dat some persons tried to steer d protest away 4rm d reasons most of the protesters were doing so in order to achieve peculiary and utterly selfish gains(wot wit some of these ppl towards d end of protests calling 4 change in govt- didnt realise d significance and shenanigans of such moves then but now i know much better); still most of d protesters came out of dier personal convictions even though some persons may hv sought to hijack it. The President shld be so adviced and conc on wot he is doing currently(which are fundamental and forward thinking ); he shld also continue to pursue dose things that we demanded he did in January some of which he seems to be doing(improvements in the rails and oda alternative modes of transportation, clean up of the fuel importation scheme, prosecution of suspected subsidy thieves, reduction of demorage costs on the high sea, reduction of cost of governance, repairs of existing refinaries and improving d environment to encourage new private refiners etc) after which he shld take steps to completely remove d Subsidy, maybe some time late next yr or early 2014.....i endorse every other thing he said esp d growth of the 'political media' these days- which is a shame

Gbawe: Bankole is one of the PIPIP crew i.e publicly indicted but privately in power. He is busy trying to help GEJ with his SW 2015 project. Any so-called prosecution of Bankole is a charade. Same is true for OGD, Alao-Akala, Farouk et al.
I agree. All the persons you mentioned are almost certainly THIEVES, should be so treated...so do people like Tinubu and Ikufuroji( the Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly).

Agreed?
Politics › Re: GEJ To Strip Questionable Characters Of National Awards by taharqa: 11:22pm On Sep 18, 2012
The most important that ought to be done is to totally exclude ALL serving government officials from the awards if credibility is to be restored to the awards. How do you 'honour' a person just cos he attained a position in staed of what he did while in the position(which will be determined AFTER the official may have left that position).

Also, though the number of awardees were almost halved this year(from 359 last year to 145 this year- which is commendable), I feel that the number of persons ought to be reduced even further. All strata of the society should also be considered in subsequent awards as the President just directed.

Ryabcool: so in your mind, you've just posted something sensible? Ignoring the multiple grammatical blunders your post is ridden with, i'll say this: Until you're able to post like an intellectual and sensible human being, i won't bother to flex my intellectual prowess with you. Your vague attempts to vindicate your points while stating oblivious and unfounded accussations and counter accussations are just as pitiable as your educational upbringing. I have no affiliation with any political party and neither have i bothered to step outside the confines of my comfortable home to go and vote for any political party in Nigeria. I am a social and political observer, i speak the truth as i see it, so you are just wasting space with your ignoramus posts. You sir, are a living contradiction.
An 'Attempt to vindicate my points'? You have got to be kidding me..I was actually accentuating my point- which is that both yourself and the poster I directed that post at are INTERNET CREATIONS of a few frustrated(did I also say Disgruntled) pips who are desperately seeking to undermine a Mandate freely given by a plurality of people through the back door; once again you GUYS DONT COUNT. One knows Real critics when one sees one....and like a said earlier: I do not apologize for that line.

Wallie: I still find it hard to fathom how so many people die in a single accident in Nigeria! How can 50 people just die like a bomb just went off? I highly suspect that most of the people died due to inadequate first responders and emergency care!

DO people realize that just because someone passed out and momentarily stopped breathing, the person can still be revived? Are accident victims just left at the roadside to eventually die?

I think it should be mandated that all commercial bus drivers and their conductors learn CPR. Sounds like something Fashola can pull off!
Yea. Emergency care for accident victims are usually inadequate in Nigeria. Dont know if it contributed to the high No of the dead in this case but in most accidents in Nigeria inadequate emergency care is a significant contributor to the high fatalities among the causalities(by the way, I just heard from someone who saw the accident that the No may not be that high).

Govts(FG and State) should drastically improved this; the FG ought to reactivate/provide string of emergency care centers/Trauma units along federal roads in other to provide such services and reduce the No for persons that die(or are permanently disabled) on our roads.

Did the report say that it was bad roads that caused the accident or a terrible mistake by the trunk driver? Is the Ijebu-Ode Roundabout section of that road that bad? Plz leave the dead out of your political adventures.

He does need you to like him. YOU DO NOT COUNT; and moreova there is shishi u can do only complain ignorantly on d web....when last did any of u ingrates witness fuel scarcity in Lagos and its environs? Did we all not watch and read about d massive vandalism perpetuatd by sm Nigerians in Alepo more dan a week ago; it was d main news item on Channels and even STV 4 days. Didnt we watch d attempt of d PPMC officials to repair d pipeline 2 or 3 days afta d vandalism, and how 3 of dem were killd by d vandals 4rm d village? You expect NNPC to send more workers so they can also be killd witout d requird security mop up in d surrounding villages? Meanwhile, dat pipeline is one of d main pipelines distributing more dan 10million litres of petrol thruout the west and tru Ilorin to parts of d north. They hv in d meantime increasd d distributn of fuel using trunks over longa distances, which is d best they can do in d meantime b4 they wud be able to repair d pipelines. What else do u want dem(NNPC) to do? where they d ones that told those villagers to vandalise(steal) fuel in dat largely inaccessible area at Alepo? Thisday just reportd dat 3 new ships carrying fuel just bertd in d Lagos port, adding to d stock in-country, so if NNPC can increase long distance distributn tru trunks(which is more difficult) or better still repair dat pipeline when d security agents finish dier job(i wud imagine they are doing dat right now), the situatn along dat axis ought to come back to normal. If it continues afta dat then you can complain bitterly; in d meantime, cut dem sm slack....finali i ask again, when last did u guys experience scarcity in Lagos nd environs

@JpPhilips.
The problem is when one rants while arguing, one makes a lot of terrible mistakes.

You said the ECA and the SWF are same(just woo!); you simply equated foreign reserves level to Exchange rate as though there are not other economic factors and considerations involved in determining exchange rates(do you know the Exchange rate of the Yen to the Dollar? Hope you know that China has the largest Foreign Reserves in the world); you also have no clue about the huge increase in local participation in the oil industry and amazing dismisses it as creating "underemployment"(amazing!)...Anyways, the persons you are debating with will answer those points appropriately.

Try to dismiss this plz:
