"To serve our fatherland with love and strength and faith" is to die in poverty and neglected! R.I.P Oliha! |
emekatimsu: Hungryman, the day i see a pol party in Nigeria that have you as an exco member or political office aspirant, then i will fully support and believe that true change has started. Just go tru the names you listed out in your APC formation and you will hv to agree with me dt ds are the same sets of politicians with same mentality that have been recyclying them selves in political office in Nigeria. Is APC a "party or rebels"? Yes, it has among its members those who left the PDP out of frustration. Some left because they failed to win concession within the party and others because they were uncomfortable with the direction the party was headed. On the issue of circling and recycling same ol' politicians. There is nothing we can do about that since most of us have decided to be critics outside of the arena. We claim to have solutions to the problems bedeviling the nation, but do nothing about them yet we yearn for a change . We have become merchants of doom, armchair critics and spectocrats who supposedly want the best but see only the worst in every party. As long as PDP remains in power, we will never get a "credible" opposition because we practice a "monetized democracy". PDP controls the politics and economy of this nation and has at its disposal illegally acquired wealth and state resources to muscle any opposition. So any party that wants to challenge PDP's monopoly will have to break the bank(also steal from the public purse). The president himself acknowledged the need to have a "Strong National Opposition" which is what APC stands for. PDP will only sit up when we have an alternative national platform because it will encourage competition. So why do we have to throw the baby away with the bath water? Our democracy is not yet mature, and there is no political party anywhere in the world made of saints and perfectionists. PDP will forever remain in power with this mindset of yours which reeks of religious bigotry and hypocrisy! |
austinkenneth: more balanced in terms geo-political zones, christian/muslim. Can't you see?You must be joking! I listed 17 powerful key positions in the PDP, with christians occupying 13 out of the 17 and you call that "more balanced"? Are there no christians occupying positions in APC which the @Op out of mischief left out. You stink of Hypocrisy! |
austinkenneth: This one is more balancedmore balanced as in composition/offices fairly shared or what? |
Is the PDP a Christian Party? Below are the names and religion of members of the newly constituted PDP interim management executive committee. Out of 23 powerful key positions in the PDP, 19 is currently occupied by Christians. 1) Bamanga Tukur- Chairman(Muslim) 2) Chibudom Nwuche- Deputy Nat. Chairman (Christian) 3) Remi Akintoye- Nat. Secretary(Christian) 4) Emma Agboti- Deputy Nat. Secretary(Christian) 5) Tony Okeke- Nat. Publicity Secretary(Christian) 6) Caleb Yahya- Deputy Nat. Publicity Secretary (Christian) 7) Simon D. Jok- Nat. Legal Adviser(Christian) 8.) Yau Kwadon- Deputy Nat. Legal Adviser (Christian) 9) Oyibo Nnwaneri- Nat. Women Leader(Christian) 10) Torkwuase Ajor- Deputy Nat. Women Leader (Christian) 11) Yahya Abubakar- Nat. Organizing Secretary (Muslim) 12) Onyemaechi Jideofor- Deputy Nat. Organizing Secretary(Christian) 13) Mohammed Dandari- Nat. Treasurer(Muslim) 14) Augustine Lugbenwie- Deputy Nat. Treasurer (Christian) 15) Bolaji "Akpan" Anani- Nat. Financial Secretary (Christian) 16) Mohammed Sa'ad- Nat. Youth Leader (Muslim) 17) Peter Adefunmilayo- Deputy Nat. Youth Leader(Christian) 18) Akin Taiwo- Ex Officio(Christian) 19) Mike Akinfenwa- Ex Officio(Christian) 20) Gbenga Oduwaiye- Ex Officio( Christian) Other influential positions in the PDP: Goodluck Jonathan- National Leader(Christian) Tony Anenih- Chairman B.O.T(Christian) Godswill Akpabio- Chairman, PDP Governors Forum(Christian) I am yet to see any muslim PDP member or neutral observer protest against the marginalization of muslims in the PDP. Before some people start calling for my head and calling me an Islamist or Boko Haram, let it be known that I am a Christian but I vehemently oppose the hypocrisy currently being displayed on these boards. Agreed that Christians are in the minority in APC's interim management executive committee, but so far party members who are these boards. Agreed that Christians are in the minority in APC's interim management executive, but so far party members who Christians were part of the ratification process of the executive, they should be given a chance. Those promoting this ethno-religious dichotomy amongst us, unite in ethno-religious looting. |
@Sincere9gerian, abeg make the package circulate o as people just dey lobby for their names to be included. Make we sef enjoy from the national cake. Keep it up bro! Can't knock the hustle!!! |
^ I argued same on another thread, to which a bird brain and reprobate tried to counter me with ogogoro reasoning and explanation! www.nairaland.com/1340563/tinubu-son-law-hon-oyetunde#16519937 |
eGuerrilla: Determined to neuter each other by all means possible, the dynamic duo have just made Dino Melaye's job infinitely easier. The presidency does not give a damn! The anti-corruption stance is a ruse. His henchmen have no qualms in corruptly using state resources in the furtherance of mainly parochial goals of self-aggrandizement. |
eGuerrilla: Orubebe's faction returns fire for fire! You go fear now! Jona's favorites(right-hand man and godfather) hurling accusations of different illegal acts of corruption and bribery against each other! Brazen-faced thieves! ![]() |
May be there are no completed federal projects to inspect after governors from the region refused to bankroll his pleasure trip. They called him a serial blackmailer on a tour of deceit and irrelevant jamboree! ![]() |
thelastPope: What kind of ridiculous defence are you putting up for this guy like this. Dont you have some ounce of integrity? And I was just commending you the other day. You disappoint big time!Guy file that under, who gives a shiit about anyone's commendation on a faceless forum? When did you become an apostle of truth and integrity? You can accuse him of incompetence which most of our lawmakers truly are. But fraudulent, you have no substantial evidence to prove that. You can "only" use the documents he submitted to INEC which was deposed to an affidavit in a court of law to nail him, and not details displayed on a website run by the "management" of the national assembly through her IT department susceptible to human errors. Also We do not know if he is the only one with errors on his profile page or if more(lawmakers) are affected and if he/they have forwarded their complain. Has anyone tried to confirm if he truly attended those schools and the years spent? No, But because he is an in-law to Tinubu, its enough grounds to persecute him even when we haven't conducted any search on his background! If at all we have to blame him, we should endeavor to do same to INEC, management of the NASS and the equally irresponsible candidates from other political parties who contested against him yet did not bother to double-check his info. Some who have read the president's mid-term report called it a compendium of errors(mostly typographical), yet the president appended his signature on it. Does it mean the president's responsible for those errors? The bottom-line is we have a lot of incompetent hands in the Public/civil service. Those who contested against him have access to his personal information and if they don't it can be obtained from INEC's office, yet none has gone to court to challenge him for either falsification of document or false declaration. Nigeria is the only country where people petition against another, online and pages of newspapers, and not to the appropriate quarters. |
Those in the PDP national secretariat knew of his anti-party activities in the run up to the 2011 elections but turned a blind eye after OBJ hijacked the PDP's machinery from him. At the time he was the chief sponsor of PPN and its candidate, he was also heading GEJ's presidential campaign committee in the south west as a PDP member. Note that PDP in Ogun state is highly factionalised, there is the OBJ faction, Daniel faction and the Kashamu faction so which of the factions suspended him? Recently Jonathan's right-hand man, Orubebe was suspended for anti-party activities by Delta state PDP but the national secretariat of the party declined to ratify his suspension. So those who think the party will ratify Daniel's suspension because of some featherweight politicians are in fact dreaming. |
chukwudi44: Jimi Agbaje is most likely going to be the next Governor of Lagos.Come 2015 the masses will pay back ACN/APC for their elitist policies.Guy, you no read say Jimi Agbaje na ACN member? You see no wrong in PDP poaching ACN/APC members but if it was the other way round we no go hear word! |
The same way people speculated in 2007, only for Tinubu to push forward an unknown Fashola! |
Does it mean INEC and those who contested against him did not spot this "error" in his bio-data/profile? Has anyone taken him to court in respect of this allegation, particularly those who contested against him in the election? Even when the tribunal nullified his election and ordered for a re-run, it was based on technical ground due to the failure of INEC to include the logo of another party on the ballot papers. Is it not possible that the error on his profile page is as a result of negligence on the part of the national assembly management/web admin? You can only use the documents he filled and submitted to INEC backed with an affidavit to nail him, and Since 2011, not even one of his political opponents in the election has approached the court of law. Then this allegation lacks substance! |
Katsumoto: Excuse my ignorance but is the appointment of an Oba ratified by the governor?Yes to the first two questions and Tinubu was governor when Akiolu was crowned Oba! |
Sincere 9gerian: But supporting your president is the RIGHT thing to do. That you support your president does not mean you cannot criticise him or his ministers but such criticisms should be SPECIFIC and CONSTRUCTIVE. When the time for elections come, and Jonathan becomes the candidate in PDP or whatever party, then you can oppose him. But now, he is the President of Nigeria, not PDP, and we should all support him. Those who are really supportive of his administration are his critics because they do not want him to fail, unlike his grovellers and loudest praise singers listed as sincere Nigerians. Criticism is the grist of democracy, either politically motivated or patriotic. Delivering the goods is the most effective antidote to criticism. Those who unleash destructive governance must not expect constructive criticism! |
Mogidi: Bros whilst doing your shopping, could you in your kind heart find a brain surgeon for these people :Well done! |
So once I start supporting Jonathan, I automatically become a Sincere Nigerian? |
Desola: Isn't that what I was saying before you came in to start hailing the so called kings council's decision as the king's wishes?Ma, did you not notice that my first post was inconclusive before you quoted it? I do not sing to any politician for supper nor am I beholden to anyone. I still insist that conferment of such title is the Oba's exclusive preserve. You can curse Tinubu but have the decency to leave the Oba out. You may be uncomfortable with his decision but so long he wears d crown accord him some respect. Except you are only interested in the number of likes from non Yorubas, otherwise you'll know that we don't denigrate our obas outside |
Has anyone tried to confirm d veracity of this report. Apart from Thisday, none of the mainstream news outlet is reporting the installation. Have they all been bought over by Tinubu? Can someone be installed Iyaloja outside iga idunganran(kings palace)? Has the market association released an official statement, acknowledging that they have a new iyaloja? |
Happy birthday celebrations to a confident and visionary leader. Long life, good health n prosperity |
taharqa2: So you bliv that this was just 'the choice of d Oba'?...smhSo whose choice then? Was he(Oba) coerced? |
Desola: Rubbish!!!Depose the king/Go to Court! |
idupaul: Where are those people who said Tinubu is not the Oba of Lagos? HuhIs Tinubu the Oba of Lagos? It is a "traditional" chieftancy title and not a political appointment, if she is the preferred choice of the Oba we all have to live with it. You can't question the decision of the Oba on this matter even if it dis-pleases us! When did the late Iyaloja's residence become Iga Iduganran? If any installation/coronation is to be done, it should be the King's palace! And how come THISDAY was the only newspaper present at the installation? Not even Tinubu's, The Nation, Vanguard, Punch and other mainstream news outlet is/are reporting this installation! |

Gbawe: Bruv, the way some talk here, literally foaming at the mouth, you think they won't join an ALUU-type lynch mob if the opportunity arises?True! Nairaland, home of unrivaled herd-mentality! |
Gbawe: Amusing how Nigerians, like 'herded' animals, allow themselves to be whipped into an ALUU-type frenzy by rumours and unsubstantiated allegations. ![]() |
