Tinubu is a man of many flaws, but to claim he appointed or installed his daughter as Iyaloja of Lagos when he isn't the Oba of Lagos is all cheap propaganda sponsored and propagated by idle-minds!
What if it was Jang that went to greet Jonathan, would that bodyguard had prevented him from greeting Jonathan ? I hate the hypocrisy displayed on this forum by jonathan's bootlickers who desperately want to justify the undemocratic tencencies of Jonathan.
I am no Pro-Jonathan, and neither is Amaechi a revolutionist even though I support his 19-16 votes NGF struggle! The bottom line is, he tried to breach not only the president's security but that of the two other visiting presidents whose security details will be at alert as well, and they did their job by "blocking" him. There is nothing in this report to impute that it was the president who gave orders to the bodyguard.

^ Why should he join APC? When did it become a crime to associate with governors from the opposition?
Politics › Re: Jonathan's Bodyguard Blocks Amaechi From Greeting President by takedat(m):
The bodyguard adhered to the security and protocol regulations. The fact that the president arrived before him, and was already seated with other guests(presidents of two other countries) and not forgetting that the security details of the two visiting presidents would also be at alert as well. To allow him breach protocol, even if his intention was to greet the president as a form of courtesy derides the "presidency".
Politics › Re: Traders Grumble As Tinubu’s Daughter Succeeds Grandmother by takedat(m): 1:12pm On Jun 26, 2013
mbulela: so the summary ofthe gist is that the THISDAY report is wrong? The daughter has not been anointed to fill either of her grandmother's positions?
Kindly affirm or deny this assertion. Thank you.
Can Tinubu anoint/impose his daughter on the Association of "Nigerian" not "Lagos" Market Women and Men? Can Tinubu install the daughter as Iyaloja of Lagos when he is not the Oba? Even the said meeting which was meant to confirm or reject did not hold. Not until we hear the official position of the association and the Oba before we can conclude. As it is now, he has denied such intention.
Politics › Re: Traders Grumble As Tinubu’s Daughter Succeeds Grandmother by takedat(m):
mbulela: so is the grand daughter inheriting both positions?
The title Iyaloja is not hereditary. Tinubu, through his party has denied the report.

http://premiumtimesng.com/regional/139536-lagos-acn-denies-reports-of-tinubu-appointing-daughter-as-market-leader.html

And mind you, it is impossible for Tinubu or Fashola to impose a candidate on an association(Nigerian Market women and men) which draws it membership from markets across the country, most in PDP controlled states.
Politics › Re: Traders Grumble As Tinubu’s Daughter Succeeds Grandmother by takedat(m): 11:57am On Jun 26, 2013
Desola: This is true.
Before she became the President-General, Association of Nigerian Market Women and Men, she was and remained the Iyaloja of Lagos till her death.
Politics › Re: APC Picks National Officers by takedat(m):
Having a "National" Opposition Party is an asset to our democracy irrespective of it being a replica of PDP. Those who tend to demonize the entire political process and participants, should either join one of the two parties in order to dislodge the old and recycled heads or form a brand new party which will be made of "saints and perfectionist"! cheesy grin
Politics › Re: Traders Grumble As Tinubu’s Daughter Succeeds Grandmother by takedat(m):
There is a 4 page thread on this topic

www.nairaland.com/1335266/tinubu-daughter-replace-abibatu-mogaji

And the other party(ACN), has denied the report calling it the "handiwork of an idle mind"

www.nairaland.com/1336103/lagos-acn-denies-reports-tinubu

Is Tinubu the Oba of Lagos? Those who are Yoruba and understand the tradition will know that no one except the Oba of Lagos can appoint or install or confer on anyone the title, Iya Loja of Lagos!

And if the argument is about imposing the daughter as President-General, Association of "Nigerian" not "Lagos" Market women and men. The question we need to ask is, can Tinubu or Fashola impose anyone on an association which draws it membership from markets across the country, with leaders of various markets in its fold, and most from PDP controlled states?

CFCfan: The 'docility' of the EFCC can't be the sole responsibility of one man. I believe the body has offices in the 36 states of the federation. Therefore, individuals in each state can petition their local EFCC office, or the officials in those state offices can launch prosecutions against any accused person(s).
This mentality of an all-powerful Oga at the top has to end in Nigeria, nay Africa. The strengthening of our public institutions has to be the priority.
EFCC does not have offices in the 36 states of the federation but 6 zonal offices and an head office!

pistol: We are just making noise over nothing.
Creating a storm in a tea cup.
We always say the office of the first lady is unconstitutional.
Let me ask,
Is the NGF constitutional,
Nigerians generally suffer from selective amnesia.
Always trying to pick the wrong fight.
The budget alone and secret service personnel that follow the american first lady is a mincemeat when compared with that of Gej.
Don't underestimate the power of ACN propoganda machinery
The NGF is registered under Part C of the Companies and Allied Matters Act(CAMA) and also draws it legality from Section 40 of the 1999 constitution, whereas the Office of the first lady is not created by the Constitution or any Legislation or Enactment of the National Assembly. It is a "mere contraption" existing at the whims and caprices of the occupants of the position of president. Stop advertising your ignorance for all to see!

anonimi: Thanks for our memory upgrade about the judge and his ALLEGED miscarriage of justice in Odili's case.
Are you suggesting that the speaker not be prosecuted since Odili is free FOR NOW based on your highlighted quote above huh
What happened to the saying:

Half bread is better than none!

I am sure someone else will SELECT justice for Odili in due course.
Meanwhile let's thank God for small mercies.
If you had gone through my first post, I did hail his decision not to grant bail based on self-recognition. That doesn't take away the fact that, this judge is unfit to sit on the bench because of the miscarriage of justice in Odili's case if we truly want to sanitize our judicial system! If we are to condemn corrupt politicians, we should do same to corrupt judges!

Mopolchi: Whether selective or not, it is not your concern. Just keep quiet and allow justice to unfold itself.
Fo0l! Should we then forget that he erred by issuing an illegal perpetual injuction restraining EFCC from arresting a man who looted a state treasury, and who was petitioned to the NJC for gross incompetence and flagrant abuse of powers amounting to judicial misconduct and violations of the code of conduct for judicial officers because he hasn't obstructed justice this time around? Not all of us suffer from amnesia! Selective justice is no justice at all!

Na jele o sinmi school pikin you tink say you dey follow yarn?
The title is not hereditary. One has to be an Iya Loja of an established/well-known market in order to qualify. It is now left for the Oba to confer the title of Iya Loja of Lagos on his preferred choice among the Iya Loja's!

Politics › Re: Tinubu’s Daughter To Replace Abibatu Mogaji As New ‘iyaloja’? by takedat(m):
It is the Oba of Lagos that can confer on anyone of his choosing the title of Iya Loja. Even though a lot of politics is involved in the selection, his decision remains final. Tinubu's daughter is not an Iya Loja of any market in Lagos, so there is no way Tinubu can impose her as Iya Loja of Lagos.
Politics › Re: Patience Jonathan On An Illegal Podium - Guardian Editorial by takedat(m): 9:22am On Jun 24, 2013
percipi1: I do not agree with your argument. The office of the First Lady may not be recognised in our constitution but it is provided official funding which is backed by constitutional authorities, -Presidency and National Assembly.. In line with this recognition by constitutional authorities, especially the Presidency, the occupant of the office is entitled to an official podium backed by all the paraphernalia of the Presidency. I do not fancy the present occupant, but that does not mean we must deny her the privilege that is attached to her office.
In the Appropriation Acts of 2011, 2012 and 2013, the office of the First Lady was not allotted any money, and it is not listed in the departments, agencies or commissions or other statutory bodies under the presidency. And no allocation was made for the office of First Lady under the cloak of any MDA. So it has no official funding backed by the constitution. Any allocation of money by the Federal government that is not contained in the allocation to MDA's, extra-ministerial departments, the presidency, offices of the head of service and secretary to the FG and federal executive bodies as established by Section 153 and listed in Part 1 of the third schedule to the constitution of FRN(supra) is VOID AB INITIO.

Even though we know she enjoys allocation of funds from the public treasury(The naija factor), her office and the un appropriated funds to her office are violations of the constitution.
Politics › Re: Atiku To Jonathan: You Can’t Lead PDP Reconciliation Committee by takedat(m): 6:55am On Jun 24, 2013
Is he(GEJ) not the National Leader of the party? Even if his interests are widely believed to be central to the ongoing acrimony within the party, As the father/Papa of the party, it behooves on him to reconcile warring and erring members, in a "family affair" manner. Its a crook game, and Atiku would have done same! grin grin
Politics › Re: Patience Jonathan On An Illegal Podium - Guardian Editorial by takedat(m):
Erm....

Isn't every Nigerian entitled to use the Coat of arms? So if I design a podium, is it illegal to put the coat of arms on it? I thought it belonged to all of us to use as we please in a respectful manner? Example, can't I put the coat of arms on my vehicle? Or use it on my bed sheet?

I don't see the point in this article except to just steert up sentiments..

Can a lawyer here show is how she has violated the coat of arms?
Is it permitted for a private citizen to use a letter head with the Nigeria coat of arms on it for an informal or official use/purpose? You need a license for it because as a private citizen you are not accorded/entitled to the imprimatur of officialdom! Flags and Coat of Arms Act, Chapter 148 of Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 1990.

http://www.nigeria-law.org/FlagsAndCoatOfArmsAct.htm

In the case of Dame, using the coat of arms is not the issue since she can be granted such privilege by the Attorney General or Minister of Internal Affairs, but having an "official podium" and seal bearing the coat of arms and national colours with an unconsitutional tag of "office of the first lady or first lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria" boldly written on it, is disrespect for the constitution.
Politics › Re: The State Of The Roads In Festac Town (pictures) by takedat(m):
It is not the responsibility of the council chairman to fix FESTAC roads, rather you should re-direct your complaint to Federal Housing Authority(FHA).

http://leadership.ng/city/festac-town

Here the council chairman appealed to the various government agencies to fix the roads and other infrastructure needs of the residents! This was reported by Leadership on the 9th of June
Politics › Re: Patience Jonathan On An Illegal Podium - Guardian Editorial by takedat(m):
Dame runs a parallel government, contemptuous of the constitution and act as though the nation is her fiefdom. Who will call "Madam Lazarus" to order? Is it an husband who doesn't "give a damn"? Members of the hallowed chambers of corruption? Or her handlers, who earn their livelihood by being "political bag-carriers"?

The office of the first lady in the state house(Aso Rock) website is listed as an organ of the FRN, and it is number three in the hierarchy of the organs of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
1) The President
2) Vice President
3) Office of the first lady
4) Federal executive council
5) State house
http://nigeriafirst.org/

That means an unconstitutional office of first lady wields more power and influence than the constitutionally recognized, decision-making Federal Executive council. Shamefully, Nigeria is a nation governed by impunity!
