Does anyone use the sms payment method to buy upgrade? Does it work with Airtel? |
Hi, playing the Asphalt nitro on my mobile phone recently I realised i could buy upgrades in Naira via some sort of sms payment. You click on what you wanna buy and its supposed to send you a 5 number code after deducting money from your credit. I did that but did not receive any 5 digit code. I use Airtel network. Has anyone tried this, does it work with Airtel? |
awesomeJ:First off you're making several assumptions in this write up. First I'm not saying its not your prayers that helped you pass. Secondly I don't know what you mean by my Big Bang guys since I never discussed the origin of planets with you. Lastly you conveniently forgot a group of people that pass exams without preparing well or praying, yes it happens. What I'm saying is that you can't PROVE that the cause of you achieving a goal is because you prayed about it. For you to be able to PROVE it you would have to consistently get the specific requests you pray about. Other than that all you can say is that you believe your prayers bring results you can't prove it. Read my example of the possibilities that may result after a car accident, do you agree with them? |
awesomeJ:Read my comments above, if I heat metal I can prove that I heated it, if I read for an exam I can prove that as well. Your issue seems to be that things that are hard to explain happen. Five people are in a car, one prayed to get to his destination safely. There is an accident and just that one guy survives without a scratch while all others die. Point is it can happen, stranger things have happened! Attributing his survival to his prayer is not automatic. He could as well have died, someone who did not pray at all could have survived. This incidents happen every day. People recovering from terminal diseases occur ask any doctor. Some pray, some dont, some believe in God, others don't. There is no way to ascertain that it was their prayer that was the cause of the recovery because there are also millions that prayed for their recovery and did not get it. So unless you saying God is simply choosing to answer some prayers and ignore some... which would lead back to my point that you cannot prove it. You may want to believe it but that's a far cry from proving it. |
awesomeJ:Again I say no. In fact your argument supports superstition perfectly. I can keep a rabbits foot in my pocket when going for an interview. I may be totally unprepared for the interview and still do well. That in no way or form concludes that the rabbit foot is the reason for my success! I stated earlier that it's lack of humility to say we know everything, things happen that we may find hard to explain. Attributing things you cannot explain to a supernatural cause is unnecessary and to some extent probably even lazy. Better to work at trying to understand when that happened. |
awesomeJ:Lol your argument would only stand if you could prove that it was God that gave the answer to your prayer. If Exxon gave me a job I can prove that Exxon wrote the acceptance letter to me. Can you prove that it was your concept of God that answered your prayer more so since people that don't even pray receive same blessings. Receiving a "blessing" does not acknowledge the source of the so called blessing. Does this make some sense to you? |
awesomeJ:Naa praying and receiving and answer to your prayer is not proof of a God. The only way to prove there is a being that answers prayers is if everytime anyone prays to him he receives his prayer request. If there are cavaets like was he praying sincerely or did God also want what he wanted for himself then there is no way to prove the beings existence. Furthermore people receive this same "blessings" though not praying at all or praying to myriad, different concepts of God. Again I repeat one persons subjective appraisal of whether prayers are answered cannot be held proof of the existence of a God. |
At times the simplest explanation is the right one. Over time man has always had the problem of having loads of unanswered questions. Like kids at a science fair we struggle to gleam bits and pieces of the universe we exist in. Science is the tool we have to try to understand the world we live in, it does not claim to know everything time but asserts to "know " something until the knowledge is refuted or improved on. If the is a creator or "God" science everyday gives a better understanding of the world he created. Most religions on the other hand make an incredible leap of faith saying that they know the exact nature of this "God"! This even though it has been shown several times that a so called believer can be completely wrong about a topic simply due to lack of knowledge e. g. the flatness of the earth. Its a serious lack of humility to assume we somehow already have all the answers. When people talk of "God" which one do they mean. There are loads of religion each with a different concept of God, every sect can claim theirs is the right one. I wonder who is then right. The simpler explanation is that different people of different tribes, culture, habitat have come up with their own concepts of God and religion has been more of a tool for social mores than anything. Perhaps it is time to get rid of this easily exploitable tool and focus on morals and principles instead. Lastly using your subjective experience to declare the existence of your own particular God is disingenuous. For every 1000 answered prayers there are another 1000 unanswered ones. Also people get "answered " prayers praying to different concepts of God. The fear of eternal damnation shouldn't be the impetuous for good behavior in humans. I believe the will to be good exists in us all. Just my two cents. |
Scun: You can continue to bury your head in the sand. The business they did was for profit, not for charity.Do doctors work for free? Do doctors pray for people to fall ill so they can make money? If undertakers don't exist will people still die or not? Do the families of deceased people not have the need to use undertakers? Kindly think about this questions. |
5points: Hmmm, who is thinking what i am thinking? My condolence to all families that may have lost a loved one on this flight. May God be your solace and peace in this hard times. @ the poster above, I can't fathom comments like the one you made above. Accidents are rife in Nigeria. Road, air and sea accidents are common place. A lot must be done to regulate, and standardise things to reduce the risk of accidents and increase security and safety of travellers in the country. How in anyway is the survival of 2 persons on board the flight an indication of anything other than an accident? If accidents are to be attributed to some "evil" forces somewhere maybe we should just stop asking for better roads, better cars etc and all just go for prayers in our respective places of worship abi!? God save this country. |
Scun: They made riches off other people's death, I can imagine how they constantly prayed for more people to die so that their business will grow. Now it's their turn.I find such comments quite appalling. Undertakers are necessary all over the world to help families have a befitting burial for their loved ones. You believe undertakers pray for people to die so they can make money!? Like doctors who treat cancer patients pray for more people to have cancer so they can make more money abi? *smh* |

Hi, all 3ds max enthusiasts in the room. I do quite a bit of work modelling 3ds max architectural interiors using vray mainly for rendering. Posting one or two of the simpler models I've done here. Anyone in Ibadan using 3ds max actively too or wishing to learn, feel free to pm me. Cheers.

This was done with help of video tutorials again using 3ds max and vray.

![]() Cool, would love to learn from the "Profs" in this field. |
Its a pretty basic interior model but fine to teach the rudiments of modeling, texturing, lighting, use of HDRI etc. |
Been using 3ds max for quite a while to produce realistic interior architectural models. Not sure if this is very popular here in Nigeria. Would love to discuss with anyone doing similar work or anyone interested in taking lessons on this topic. Will post a sample of something I did recently.

Had the 32gig playbook for a while now. Fairly good speeds with the bb bridge using my bold 4. Got quite a few apps as well from the app world and now some andriod apps are being ported over to the playbook. Not all android apps with work on the playbook for now but that is a continous process. Main issue is getting a good wifi connection to download apps and games. You can't download with the blackberry bridge app. Even setting up the playbook initially requires a good wifi connection and you may need to download a file of about 400 mb. If the connection fails along the line you may need to start it all over again. I have a samsung galaxy s2 and for some strange reason the wifi hotspot on this does not work with the playbook. The bold 4 doesn't have the new os 7 that enables the wifi hotspot on a blackberry mobile so I can't use my bb. All said its a great tablet and since I can browse with the bridge on my bb and thus avoid an extra 5-8k monthly bill for browsing I'm quite happy with it. Cheers. p.s. My Nigerian experience with the pb, don't know about the issues overseas but I'm sure it should be easier to use there with all the available wifi hotspots. |
Really? Didn't think our naija master cards will work on their site. |
Anyone know how to pay for andriod apps with paypal? The default andriod market on the samsung phones does not accept paypal. |
Hi everyone, does anyone know if its possible to buy andriod apps with paypal. Thanks |
moshoodn:No I don't believe you can call a person, see him in a mirror, stab him through the mirror and he dies in reality. Ok? moshoodn:Interesting you have a "masters" degree in psychology from South Hampton University. Right then let me suggest something to you, try to analyse your thought processes. Look into the effects of cultural beliefs in a society on the mindset of individuals brought up in that society. Is it likely that a masters graduate born and bred in UK would believe in voodoo? How come such "magical" things like killer phone numbers are prevalent in underdeveloped largely illiterate countries. The purpose of an education is to open your mind to ask critical questions and analyse things logically. Please read up on what I suggested and let me know what you find out. |
It's alarming how many threads were opened here discussing this supposed killer number. Now this is even in the technology section where the average person would hopefully be very savvy tech wise. How exactly do we intend to move forward when our so called tech "geeks" in Naija believe people can die from recieving a phone call. Very disappointing and a big pity. |
moshoodn:Oga I can assure you it's totally impossible to die from picking a phone call. You must struggle to break from old mindsets and try to read more about stuff. |
So what happens to those of us already on the 3k monthly plan. Do we get an extension on our time? Seems only fair. |
