@ honeric01, No he's only ridiculing himself so its no skin off my nose. That his precocious attitude in the diary room with Sarah is another thing. I don't think its unselfconscious. I think he thinks its cute and endearing but its not. It's annoying and foolish but like you said one man's meat. . . about final nominations: Its only to be expected. I don't think any of the housemates will be surprised. Between Kevin and Itai, I really don't care who goes home. I've already resigned myself to Emma being in the finals because African men think she's hot and she's guaranteed to jiggle her chest all over the place. Based on patriotism (which Mr. There-Are-Too-Many-Nigerians-In-The-House lacks) and Itai's general shadiness, Itai should go home, and propose to his "gf." |
honeric01:What does being on an acting reality show have to do with "acting" in the house? I'm missing the connection. Is it like an "all the world is his stage" situation where he's acting 24/7? It is so obvious when he's being fake e.g. when he cried when Liz went and put his hand over his heart and then reached out to the air to demonstrate that he couldn't speak. . . it was like he'd have failed acting 101. He's not too bad when he's real like when he's telling stories etc but when he's fake, he's REALLY fake!!! |
lindabon:Itai is too smooth and oily. There's something about him that strikes me that he might be an abuser (like wifebeater) in a relationship, but no one will believe the wife when she reports because of that smoothness. . . I agree with you o. . . I'm definitely unjealous!!! |
Am I the only one who doesn't like Kevin?!? He's gullible, easily led (by snakey Itai and that awful whiney vindictive Emma), and so so transparently fake with his "trying-to-be-relelvant" relationship with Liz who even told him the night b4 she left that he should stop playing to the cameras. He should have just stuck to trying to get Africa interested in his music career. I've been embarrassed this entire season by Nkenna's (the village champion's) bushness and tactlessness and lack of oral control, but honestly I prefer her to Kevin. At least she's real. It's just a pity that her realness is bush and embarrassing. The only Nigerian I liked was Geraldine because although she was a little dry, at least she didn't act the fool and one could at least be proud of her. She has no reason to be embarrassed when she comes back. Honestly, I'm supporting Mzamo because I enjoy her. At least in her BBA relationship, she was patently only in it for the sex not the attention unlike the delusional (widow/er) Emma and Kevin. I feel like she's real and herself. Random Aside: What's Itai's deal with worrying about his girlfriend waiting for him on the outside and begging her to be patient? What did he do to her before coming into the house? This is someone he wants to propose to immediately he leaves the house and he doesn't trust that she can wait the 3mths he's in the house for him? Very Strange!!! |

^^^^ Ok I'll try reducing my deep conditioners maybe to once a week when i use a light protein instead of twice a week like I'm doing now. (I'm not having any problems from doing 2ce a week but I'm always happy to save on products if I can). But then what do i use when I do my mid-week wash? Regular conditioner ![]() |
I remember one from when I was in secondary school: Juliet Must Die, But Why (or maybe it was just called Juliet Must Die but sha the "but why" was written as big as the rest of the title in the poster so I've always assumed it was part of the name) |
Joseph6:Yeah I did. They had an all-night marathon of it a few nights ago and I got into it. What do you have against it? |

I'm a relaxie ( Wink ) and I wash my hair at least 2 times a week and airdry using the scarf method and leave-ins (like neutrogena silk touch)to prevent poof and frizz. I deep condition with a shower cap (with cholesterol<+honey sometimes> everytime I wash (so that's 2ce a week). If I'm washing more than 2ce a week, then the 3rd+ wash is a co-wash (washing with any regular conditioner, I'm using the Body Shop honey shampoo and conditioner right now but next I want to try Aussie Moist or Herbal Essences Long Term Relationship).I do a light protein treatment (Aphogee 2-minute or Joico K-Pak DPR or Hair Mayonnaise) once a week on dry hair (with a shower cap for at least 1.5hrs) right before my wash. I relax my hair every 8-10 weeks (more like 10 but sometime up to 12 weeks depending on how the hair is doing). I think relaxing every month IS too soon. Even every 6 weeks like it says on the box I think is also too soon. Some people wait long periods between relaxing like 4-6 months. I know I've done that and I had a lot of issues with shedding and tangling and lost thickness as a result. The best hair thickening secret (or non-secret) I know is sealing ends and massaging roots with castor oil. @ chiogo, I don't know if a shampoo/conditioner combo is enough to properly condition your hair. Even my brother has come to see the light in having a separate conditioner (he used to use a combo shampoo/conditioner 2-in-1) after I forced (bet him he'd like it) him to try a separate conditioner and use S-Curl to moisturize; he's now a convert. If your hair is properly moisturized, you'll see an instant difference. Also, be very watchful about Dr. Miracle. Stop using it if it messes up your hair because I've never met anyone who doesn't have horror stories to tell about this line. I hope it works for you though. |
I just found Burn Notice and really like it. I also have been watching re-runs of Bones and I want to start from season 1 and get into it properly. I've been meaning to try Jada Pinkett's show Hawthorne, but I forgot to watch it when it came out and so far I haven't really bothered, but I'm going to try it out next- has anyone been watching it? Is it a yay or a nay? |

@ FL gator You can achieve that afro style you're going for but it's really time and labour intensive. When your hair is still wet, use setting lotion etc in it and then get the smallest size of rollers possible, you need to pick out small pieces and then roll them on the rollers. The smaller the pieces and the rollers, the tighter your curls will look in your afro. My mom had relaxed hair in the 70s and this was how she did her massive afros in the pictures. Or if you do cornrows e.g. like how you used to do to go to school in Naij, especially on wet, well-moisturized (use a leave in conditioner followed by an oil like coconut oil but u can use any oil you like; this will prevent frizz) hair but then don't leave your ends straight, roll the end of each cornrow on a small roller (you don't have to do this but if you don't you'll get curly hair and straight edges), and then let them dry overnight. (You could also do single braids like "calabar" instead of cornrows but you have to do many like @ least 20-25+ but it depends on your head size and hair thickness) When you loosen them in the morning (carefully) and fluff them and separate the hair and you'll get this: (btw, the girl in the pic has relaxed 4a/b hair like African type and you can go to hairlistainc.com or the hairlista channel on youtube to see her step-by-step of how she does it)

davidylan:LOL about arsenal. . . abi you guys have van persie? I've never really noticed him doing much else but waiting around to score or trying to get into position to score, but to be fair I haven't paid too much attention. As for Rooney, he's good, and he's a team player, but as for the ruthless killer instinct I'm talking about, maybe before o. . . I feel like he thinks he's some kind of midfielder because of the role he's been playing in the past couple of seasons. |
davidylan:I typically don't agree with you on the Sports forum when I read your posts but I actually agree with you here 100%. I've long said Park has luck that's it. He's a hard worker but he has no natural talent for football and he falls down to easily at crucial moments. He's just not good enough for us. Maybe like a mid-table team or something. Anderson is neither coming nor going, he just runs around aimlessly, no purpose except to run and smile like he has special needs. Valencia is good and has something going but he needs a lot of work and he needs to put in extra hours practicing his crossing because right now he's very inaccurate even though he gets into good spots for it. Carrick is another one I see something in but he's so effing lazy. He is the opposite for Park. You can see that he has a brain and a natural talent for football but he doesn't want to work. He doesn't want to run. He loses the ball he doesn't go after it. He doesn't tackle and he's a central midfielder. So it's like why are you here. I wan't a Nani fan before I'll admit, but since Ronaldo he's really really stepped up and I'm blown away by him. He reminds me a little of Ronaldo in his first season with us (except without so many step-overs). This his shoulder thing though is problematic. What do we want with Hargreaves? i've written that one off since. I'm not saying Berbatov and Rooney are bad. Berbatov has certainly improved and works a lot harder. It's just that Rooney seems to hve become accustomed to playing a midfield row and providing support instead of going for it himself and Berbatov sometimes passes the ball at crucial moments so that you're like "why?" Fergie doesn't seem to want to start Macheda for some reason maybe his youth? But its like so many players in our team were in the first team at that age so I don't get it. I want us to have one selfish person up front, you know what I mean, one person who wants glory and is not generously passing the ball in front of goal. |
To the Ronaldo is gone= doom group: Of course it will be difficult because he was such an integral part of our game. Everyone has iconic players that leave or retire sometimes and of course it changes things. And Ronaldo had so much fire that it was able to inspire those around him and many people got lazy as a result. I don't think we've fallen apart and we're certainly better than I thought we'd be without him, however, there are a lot of consistent injury worries and some players that are frankly just not carrying their weight and one wants to think that the money gotten from the Ronaldo sale will be spent on more than a Wigan player who needs some development, a has-been, and some infant from French league who probably also needs development. It's not that I think our current team can't make it, they can if they really want it, if they get some passion and if everyone pulls their weight for once. There are a lot of bad/lazy habits that have been developped over the Ron years but those can be broken. I do think things will be a little easier for everyone if we increased our squad depth and made some signings especially up-front or possibly with a goal-scoring midfielder. |
davidylan:I don't even care that Owen was taken on a free if only there were no expectations on him. How much is he earining 20K a week? Whatever. It's just the fact that Ferguson seems to actually expect him to be good!!! Anyway, as to what we should buy. . . well now it's late, and all the choice targets are taken. . . but of course it's never too late where there's money <hehe>: Defence: We could use some Hangeland so that we don't have to deal with replacing our perpetual sick notes with Porto's honorary player Johnny Evans. I'm not mad at our defence with the exception of Evans and Neville and Sickbay Chief Hargreaves, but they seem to have ALOT of injury problems which I think are affecting consistency. Midfield: We need wingers. Valencia show's promise but he's not accurate when it comes to his final cross. I'd like Ribery but I don't think he's worth the money Bayern want especially since that money would be better spent on a striker or at least a high goal-scoring midfielder. Strikers: Even though I know it's not really strikers that are scoring these days in the premiership, it never hurts to have one or two with a killer instinct. Not this overly-polite twosome we currently have going. We need some selfishness or some score-or-die attitude. What about Dani Guiza or Aguero? Or we could hijack the Negredo deal? Come to think of it sef, its an insult that Owen is selected before Macheda, Macheda should be selected before Owen anyday anytime. Also David Villa maybe if he would leave Spain. I'd even take Dindane or Gudjohnsen both of whom are pretty cheap; I'm at least sure they're better than Owen. Or we can go back the Forlan route, he blossomed post-United. I don't know sha. People who are being paid to do so (Yes I mean you Japp Stam and you Sir Alex's brother) should come up with a list and then I can veto it. . . lol ![]() |
jay bee:ROTFL!!!! LOL!!! ![]() Maybe s/he is intersex and if she is and was raised female, well I guess that's his/her good luck that s/he has male athletic abilities and gets to compete against women. |
loyika:What do we want to do with Tevez? Tevez lacks intelligence. We need some real players. Not these people who lack killer instinct: politely leaving the ball for each other as if it's a tea party (Rooney I mean you). There are too many passengers. Too many!!! That number 7 shirt should catch fire on Owen's back because he doesn't effing deserve it; it's not for the likes of him, his useless back is desecrating it. It's even good sef that we lost. I'm happy. Because maybe Alex Ferguson will wake the eff up and buy something that has some fire. Valencia is not bad but obviously crossing the ball was not a skill that was practiced at Wigan because he sucks at it. Nani has shown promise but his shoulder. Giggs still has it but poor thing is old and has played too many seasons. Paul Scholes should be sacked; he's old and good-for-nothing, it might be time for him to retire to his beloved Oldham. Carrick has lazy tendencies and why did he take the penalty? (What kind of overgenerousity is that? People who are paid to score goals should take the penalties). Anderson should just run himself to Berlin and leave us the eff alone. Berbatov is a lot better this season but like Rooney is too generous with not wanting to take a shot on goal, stupid passing at the last minute. Alex Ferguson, this is a warning: Buy players before its too late!!! I know this is just one match and we typically start off pretty weak anyway but still. . . |
Hmmm. . . I guess that could have happened. It's just as far-fetched as the sequel that did get written. I hated Ashley from the start, he's the kind of weakling coward that will wait for the cover of darkness to form a KKK-type institution. He and Scarlett would never work out, she would totally be the man in that relationship. I think what made me really sad at the end of GWTW is that I feel like Rhett had totally given up on Scarlett like he would never go back to her and their story together was over, and as sad as that is, you the reader kind of understand because it just felt like too much had happened and to many awful things said and done (esp. by Scarelett) and you couldn't really see a way for them to overcome that. |
tpiah*:I agree. I love Gone With The Wind. I remember getting so into it, I read it under the table in SS2 during classes. I like a happy ending though, so I'm really happy the other woman (Alexandra Ripley) wrote the sequel (Scarlett) which though not as good as the original, at least leaves you satisfied like there's a conclusion. |

allboyz:But Turf Moor can?!? You should have just left it at "it was a mistake." |
~Borat~:I agree o. I watch with my dad when I'm home and ok the test kind can really drag on, but the twenty20 style with limited overs is actually really exciting because nobody is wasting balls. 6s and 4s all the way. |
I'm sure his games must be better than most but it still has all that awful walking about from hole to hole. It's like he's wearing a polo shirt and khaki trousers and walking on the grass to go and hit a ball. Yes I'm supposed to be impressed because he's Tiger Woods but couldn't he like run, or look excited or have a bit of bounce in his step. Look like he's playing a sport and not just strolling in the park on a Sunday afternoon. Like can't they just inject some life into it. It's so dead. The heart never races in this sport. It's so meh. . . |
davidylan:Golf is never good! All that strolling about. All that silence. It's like a game of aged corpses. There's no excitement. There's polite cheering for goodness sake. A true fan should never politely cheer. You cheer like the fanatic you are. With passion and "umph." Not politely clap and murmur like you're at the Queen's tea-party. Between the players and the fans and the long periods with no action <shakes head> I don't think so. . . |
1.) Golf (I'd rather watch hair growing or paint drying) 2.) Baseball (it's like a razzer version of cricket with unflattering outfits). 3.) American Football (basically rugby for sissys and again with those outfits!!! like at least play like men!!!) 4.) Wrestling (whether Greco-Roman/UFC/WWE, nothing sexier than sweaty men rubbing up on each other. Not) |
@ Thief of Hearts: Aphogee 2-minute or Joico K-Pak, which do you prefer? I recently got the Joico and I have to admit, I'm a little underwhelmed. I got it because everyone says such nice things about it. But to me it's pricy and I'm kind of disappointed (especially since the Aphogee is so much cheaper and IMHO much better). Maybe if I use it for a while, I'll see what the hype is about. What's your experience with the Joico? |
bluespice:lol!!! ROTFL. I thought that too when I saw the topic!!!@ topic: Are you here looking for a girlfriend? Or are you wondering why girls cheat? If it's the former, I'm not sure if coming out and saying it is the way to go; from what I've observed on NL, the "subtle" off-topic flirtation method seems to work better here. If it's the latter, ah that one is complex: money, boredom, stupidity, feeling under-appreciated, having the-grass-is-greener syndrome etc etc. |
Not to fart. Especially if you're sitting/standing in one place. Excuse yourself and go to the loo. If it's like a walk or something in which you'll be moving away from the spot immediately, then you can chance it. Even though that's still pretty nasty. Especially for the people left behind at the spot. |

You've got a selfish and ruthless goal poacher in Rooney, without him Man U would be totally toothless.
